listen to me and listen to me very carefully, JP Morgan can go burn in HELL. Nigeria will always come out strong under the new leadership of buhari.

we will restore liquidity to our currency market WHEN we have successfully diversely diversify our mono-economy(won't probably take two years with a good government in place) and reduce the number of products we import by developing our local markets.... Any further devaluation of our currency(which is what JP Morgan wants us to do) will lead to currency crisis between our naira and dollar. And before we know it, we will start buying 1dollar at the rate of 600naira or more, and fools like you will start pointing accusing fingers at buhari.
hehe hope you are ready to start buying aba made?

clearly the delta state govt is under performing vis a vis the funds it has

The local govt is also under-performing

But the major problem is not the govt of this area but the people and the way they think

Until you change your way of thinking and support Biafra

Funny how people live in a pit latrine of the zoo called Nigeria and still drive 10million naira cars inside it

Or how a man like Emami Ayiri is role model for people who come from this area

Nigerians are baboons and monkeys who do not know that the world of today is more collaborative

Build and develope your enviroment and stop mindless worship of money
nothing concerns people from this part of the country(minus maybe anioma axis) with biafra

PoliticsRe: Ndi Yoruba How Old Is Ibadan, Abeokuta Et Al ??? by asha80(m): 8:53am On Sep 08, 2015
BuddahMonk:
Anytime you remind yorubas how backward and old Ibadan, Abeokuta and other brown roofs and mud dominated cities are they will tell you its because their ancestors started building cities when others were still living on trees.

Now my questions are these.

Did the old oyo build with corrugated zinc before the arrival of the whitemanhuh

Did the old old people build with cement before the Europeans set foot in Africahuh

Why are the walls built of muds and the roofing of corrugated zincshuh

If yoruba towns and cities are to be as old as they are trying to make us believe here, the roofing will be of thatched while the walls of mud to show undiluted preservation of precolonial African building technologies and materials.

Why are the walls of the yoruba houses made of muds but the roofing of corrugated metal sheetshuh

If you visit Enugu, Fegge in Onitsha and old Aba town and Umuahia you will see the deviation between pre colonial houses Igbos built, colonial houses Britian built and the current structures going in Igboland which are post colonial "Igbotic" deviating from the pre colonial, slightly from the colonial and arrival on their own architecture "Igbotic".

Below will be pictures of old Aba town, a colonial outpost and new Igbo buildings springing up just behind it, you can spot the differences.

if Yorubas think that Ibadan, Abeokuta et al are these old because they are trying to preserve their traditional architecture, we will tell them that their fore fathers never built with corrugated metal sheets or cement but thatch and muds.

If they think that by lying of protecting their antiquities for future generation, we will tell them that there is big lacuna between mud and corrugated metal sheets, between cement and thatch.

Have you seen a house built of cement but with thatched roofing - Noo - reason cement is younger than thatch in the Africa building society.

Have you seen a house built of mud but with corrugated metal sheets - yes - reason that corrugated metal sheets is younger than mud in the Africa building society, its easier to change the roof of a building than to change the walls.

Changing the walls mean demolishoin but changing the roof mean upgrading.

Yorubas upgraded their cities with corrugated metal sheets (oyibo material) but still retain the traditional building material of mud (Africa material) .

Just read what you wrote again. Does it sound logical? (No insult meant)

How can someone penned for elimination be the one to halt the same coup he was to be eliminated in and still went ahead to be the main beneficiary yet you still want people to believe he(Ironsi) had no hand in the coup?

Let's assume your story is right. You now said he helped halt the coup. Are you serious right now? You mean they could have gone ahead to perform a genocide on the northerners had he not halted it.

You also said Northern officers. Which northern officers were eliminated? It was defenceless civilian leaders that were murdered in cold blood.

So the fact that he (Ironsi) surrounded himself with Northern officers means he had no hand in the elimination of northern leaders? Or does it justify the senseless killings by the coupists who were 95% from a certain region of the country?

To me it only means he was being naïve to believe that he and his people could pacify the north with posts after murdering their leaders. It was plain stupidity.

Yes they had the right to take over the properties since it is stationed on their land and not part of the Biafra. Is it not this same SS that SE is now claiming to be part of Biafra(because of oil).

Learn to know that you can never eat your cake and have it at the same time.
I can see you do not know much about what happened then and you are relying on emotional conjectures...goodluck and read without prejudice about what happened in the past

"Unitary system" was to unify the whole country into one which obviously is in stark contrast of the same thing I see people agitating for this days. We are not one. Aguiyi Ironsi by that Unitary system forced us together to make us one.

Had Aguiyi Ironsi not set the wheels in motion another person (Gowon) wouldn't have the thought of consolidating it.

No one will have gone ahead to split the regions into states arbitrarily if someone had not introduce a unitary system thereby making us what we are not.

We should stop blaming these people and let's lay the blame where it is due. If Ironsi and his lieutenants had not gone on a murdering rampage, killing their leaders unprovoked, they(the northerners) probably wouldn't have thought of seizing power every now and then. Those people started a war they couldn't win now the whole country is paying for their sins. Yet their people are the ones still bent on splitting this country trying to drag the ND/SS along with them.

They also started hatred towards the SW for not following them out after murdering the SW leader too in the coup.

They called the ND/SS people land and property thieves because they didn't believe in their selfish ambition.
not sure you know your history well...not sure what you mean ironsi and his lieutenants going on murderous rampage because ironsi himself was penned down for elimination but as fate will have it he was one of the ones that helped halt the coup.read different accounts of that coup..by the way ironsi introduced that unitary system because of the precarious situation the country was then...if ironsi as you said went on murderous rampage on northern officers how come most of his assistants that he appointed were northerners? How do you think he was easily eliminated?...as for your nd and ss last statement ho and read about abandoned property issue in ph after the war..as for north and power I am sure ahmadu bello would be laughing at your statement as his famous statement about north and power are well known

As per his request to report to the president directly rather than a finance minister, it's a sign of a level of personal pride in what he has achieved for himself. Geometric is functioning in Osisioma, Aba at the moment. The very unfortunate spat between geometric and Emeka Offor's Eastern distribution company only stopped geometric from supplying power to the entire city of Aba(which would have been great) but geometric has the right to supply power to industries in Aba directly. Emeka Offor is sabotaging the effort of prof Barth Nnaji to give Aba and indeed the S.east a face-lift, he is just being too greedy by denying the SME's at Bakassi/Ariaria, kent/Azikiwe and so many others scattered all over Aba the opportunity to have 24 hours uninterrupted power supply to grow their businesses and help the economy of Abia state. God will continue to bless prof Barth Nnaji and make Shylock Emeka offor to have a change of mind.
ok didn't know about that..
However I think it is just a matter of time before geometric takes over the aba zone..that I because nerc and bpe have validated the rights of geometric over aba zone just some weeks ago..offor was simply banking on his closeness to the then vp sambo to frustrate nnaji

MrEverest:
I am impressed to say the least, this is the kind of self-help Igbos are well known for. Mbakwe built the imo airport and some other projects through this means. Onye ajuru aju anaghi aju onwe ya, even if FG abandons us as they have done since independence, we have all it takes to set the pace in Nigeria, we have continued to have the highest literacy rate, lowest incidence of poverty, highest percentage of deliveries by qualified health personnel, the states of Imo, Anambra and Abia have consistently been among states with the highest enrollment rates into unity schools and universities, I can go on and on to list all the areas igbos have consistently led the pack in Nigeria despite FG orchestrated subjugation, all these were achieved simply because of our liberal and capitalist society, healthy rivalry between constituent parts and self help projects such as this one planned by WIC. There should be a synergy between S.East governors, WIC and Ohanaeze ndigbo to fashion out modalities where we can build world class universities, hospitals, malls, office buildings and estates etc in Igbo cities like Enugu, Owerri, Onitsha, Aba, Asaba,p.harcourt ,Abakiliki, Umuahia etc. Believe me, we have the human resources within Nigeria and in the diaspora to achieve such, we can even float a company that would be quoted in the stock exchange and its shares sold to interested Nigerians to realize more capital. I believe there is a new consciousness or reawakening among Igbos in thinking home. Another of such is what Prof Barth Nnaji did in Abia state by building geometric power plant(dedicated to industries in Aba) with world bank assisted funds in Osisioma, Aba, that singular project have resuscitated moribund companies like PZ and Nigerian breweries, hopefully Unilever and many others will bounce back and the new governor needs to improve on the roads and waste disposal and then hype Aba to attract investments and what former minster of Industries(I have forgotten his name) did in Ebonyi by building one of the biggest modern rice mills(Ebony rice) Finally, a refinery somewhere between Owerri and Oguta in Imo state will help the economy of the S.east, if only Rochas is serious he can provide part of the funds and then lure foreign investors and Igbo diaspora to invest in it. Now is the time jump-start the S.East economic tiger!!!
not sure geometric has started functioning..they still have issues with interstate electrics over aba zone

Opinion.

Isn't it better we keep everything in Igboland 100% Igbo dominated and own.

Especially mineral exploitations.

If Ibeto is exploiting limestones in Ebonyi, Orient and Nestoil drilling crude in Anambra and Anioma respectively.

We should be territorial, we have seen what mineral explorations by foreign own corporations did in Niger Delta, plunder the land and leave the people with oil spill and poverty to contend with.

Many intelligent nations don't allow foreign mining and exploitation of minerals except in Africa.

Igbo should keep everything 100% indigenous like we are doing in manufacturing back home.
Uche Oga, Orji Kalu, et al should start investing in oil n gas to make sure those oil wells in the hands of the Gambaris are recovered.

We are different people, so we need to handle our things differently.

Its increase Igbo consciousness
