manugbo: SOMETHING IS COMING UP SOON AND U AND T.A ORJI CANNOT, NEVER STOP ITthe problem is however is not as if umuahia people are happy with orji either. |
So this is about proving Yorubas are not cowards? Yorubas don't need to prove to anybody that they are not cowards, especially to those do not know the meaning of the word. The records of Yoruba leaders in the history of Nigeria is there for all to see. It mostly Yorubas leaders that are not afraid to lose federal power and remain in opposition since elections have been conducted in Nigeria, that doesn't look like cowardize to me. The reason many of you shout break-up at the slightest opportunity is because you have no idea what is at stake. Many of you erroneously believe it's the northerners that would lose and so the frequent call for a breakup. But alas, southern elites like their northern counterpart think differently when confronted with the issue because they know what is at stake, unlike many. Things are not as simple as you think. You guys actually think dividing nigeria is as simple as slicing bread or yam. This could be the reason you express disappointment when supposed southern leaders preach unity. Now if we ask practical questions on the modalities to be adopted in dividing nigeria, I bet many will not be able to answer. I keep saying it, if you are not ready to declare your independence and fight for it like Biafra did or even BH is doing, you'd better keep your peace because nobody is going to listen to you. I keep saying it, anybody that wants nigeria divided should take steps to do that. you guys are actually in the minority. ordinary nigerians are not aware of your frustrations.
nice quote. |
kutchs: Just shut it okay? You are one of the reason why Nigeria is messed up, pple like u think and want the govt to do all forgetting u have a role to play in the country. @OP tanks bro for this insightful info.if you have nothing better to say go siddon for gutter fool.i guess you never witnessed aba of late seventies to early eigthies. |
Insecurity: Gowon urges Christians to pray PDFPrintE-mail Written by Doyin Adebusuyi, Ado-Ekiti Tuesday, 21 August 2012 05:00 Share inShare SocButtons plugin Former Head of State, Gen. Yakubu Gowon has advised Nigerians, especially Christians not to be carried away by their worries about the spate of insecurity in the country, but to instead intensify prayers for peace. Speaking with newsmen on Sunday shortly after a prayer session for Governor Kayode Fayemi and the state, Gowon said prayers, complemented by action would address the problem. He lauded the efforts of the Ekiti governor in developing the state, saying Fayemi is indeed an agent of change, who should be supported to do more. Expressing satisfaction with what he described as the massive infrastructure development in the state, particularly the roads and urban renewal projects. “I read about the developments in the health and education sectors, and I have seen quite a number of roads at various levels of completion in different parts of Ekiti. I have also seen quite a number of buildings that came up since my last visit here. I am certain there has been a lot of development and progress in the state under Governor Fayemi’s administration. I must congratulate the people of Ekiti for giving him the needed support”, he said. Earlier, Governor Fayemi said Nigerians must not relent in their prayers, expressing optimism that Nigeria would rise again. While describing General Gowon as a compassionate and honest leader, the governor commended him for his commitment to the Nigerian project. http://www.dailytrust.com.ng/index.php/news/174824-insecurity-gowon-urges-christians-to-pray |

sonya4all: Well all the blame shouldnt be on the government.... Like the writer said the aba residents can be blamed partly as well as govt who collects 1200 asepa fee..With little or nothing to show for the services such money was collected...Also im somehow surprised that the op..Said he recently visited aba...And its amazing how he knows almost all the spots at aba and their names respectively.... Could it be he is an independ journalist or part of the people gov t.A orji hired to praise him in niraland.... I could be wrong....Prove it.check his previous posts.he is one of t a orji lackeys.he is actually trying to absolve orji from what aba has turned out to be.what has abia state govt under t a orji done for aba? |
Well, those who are behind the increased food prices seem to think this way, yes? So perhaps that is the right mentality to adopt. It is really hard to defeat an enemy if you think you are buddies, while he is secretly plotting to kill you. So perhaps you need to adopt this mentality as well.
this is theoritical thinking.nigeria has not divided yet so the issue of we against them mentality when you share the same national flag, policies as them does not count.forget emotion and face reality. |
What on earth are you talking about "taking agric seriously." Have you thought about the possibility that given an acre of land, it might be more profitable for a farmer to grow rice than say tomato? Is he unserious because he wants to maximize his profit? This has nothing to do with taking agric seriously or not.
what are southern state governmnets policies on education to encourage farming?please it is not only tomato we are talking about here.there are many other items |
The current situation is as follows: 1) There are certain agricultural items that for whatever reason the south doesn't make 2) Nigeria bans the importation of many of these items 3) As a result, southern Nigerians have no choice but to buy them from the north So, as you can see, the current situation is highly favorable to them. And in fact props up their economy. If you removed bans on these goods that they make and you consume, they would be crushed by competition from outside of the country. Rather than giving in to their demands and pressure, instead, use this as an excuse to squeeze their balls. If they want to make the prices of tomatoes high...so be it. Then we will force them to compete against the rest of the world for our money.
you talk like southern nigeria and northern nigeria are two different countries. |
mens dept: WHat is all the long grammer for?i wonder why people fill the onus is on anambra state governmnet to build second niger bridge. |
Why is free importation of tomatoes laughable? You would rather allow someone to squeeze your balls arbitrarily rather than importing from countries/regions that aren't chaotic? My question to you is...why? Why is buying tomatoes from the Hausa man different from buying it from the black Zimbabwean (for example)? Wean yourself off of any economic dependence you have on the North. Then there is less reason to care about whether that entire land is destroyed or not.
until the the south begins to take agric serious again then i am afraid we in the south will depend more on the north.it seems you do not know how cheap tomatoes form the north are on normal conditions.already we have imported tin or canned tomatoes but to switch totally to that?i am not sure.moreover it is not only tomatoes.onions, some species of potatoes, beans etc. |
I have never understood how southern Nigerians would let someone squeeze their balls over...tomatoes! Of all things on earth. It would be comical to me if it weren't so sad. "Sh1t, Nigeria is a really messed up country....but let's stay together and ignore our problems. Because of tomatoes!" If someone reasoned like the above, what name would you use to describe them?
fact still remains that we are one country until otherwise.no region is ready to break of yet.as for opening borders gor free importation that is laughable. |
Kolawole is a bit annoying sometimes, I can tell you that. He seems to be a one-Nigerianist by all means, even against logic and reason.
maybe he is being reasonable.if you live in nigeria you will know he is saying the truth.most food items in the south now have skyrocketed. |
well this is for those who do not see the bigger picture. |
jason123: And I repeat with confidence, WE ARE NOT JOINING BIAFRA!!! Go hang!you are not from the igbo speaking area so why the protest?is delta state homogenous? |
naptu2: Why can't, for example, the government of Zamfara State, invest in gold mining? This would bring in revenue, stop illegal mining and halt the deaths of its citizens from lead poisoning.simple.abuja should stop allocations to states.let states use the resources in their domain to take care of themselves and pay agreed taxes to abuja |
it is called O'dressing.get used to it. |
ezeagu: Everyone in the world agrees Dubai is a soulless city built with and on slaves from Asia and East Africa. Don't look to Dubai when there are so many better less gaudy options. All the glitters....danm! ezeagu it seems all that glitters is not gold. |
erico2k2: your statement is struggling to gain meaning in my brain, xplain what you mean there.forget it. |
erico2k2: When people from them areas wake up one morning fetch water from their well and discovered it has gone oily then you too will get first hand experience?ok what then is the essence of the chest beating 'my state get oil','your state no get oil' or 'you are after oil in my state'statements ![]() |
veraponpo: My person, Awo would never roast in fire because he was fair to this country but pple like |
Call it what you may but it is damn sure not done for the benefit of the SE but individuals.
it depends on what you are looking at.revenue accruing to imo is about twice that of anambra.reason?oil.the question now is to make sure the right people get to leadership.the so called development going on in akwa ibom is because of the offshore oil money that is now being giving to them unlike before hence the explosion of infrastructure developments you are seeing there.maybe if that was not the case nobody would have being saying anything about akwa ibom and infrastructure. |
It's not smart, period. Why are they looking for oil anyway besides greed? Is there no more oil to go around now? I swear the SE people seem to never learn. smdh
i guess this is from experience. |
erico2k2: YOU GUYS WILL NEVER LEARN,THE DISCOVERY OF OIL IN YOUR TOWN IS NOT A THING OF JOY,ITS LICENCE FOR WAR, DESTRUCTION AND FUEL FOR GREED.hmm i guess this from experience which you know first hand. |
It doesn't matter. That is besides the fact.m Do you think the North and SW dont have oil? Well they do. They are just smart enough to know to keep it until...

It doesn't matter. That is besides the fact.m Do you think the North and SW dont have oil? Well they do. They are just smart enough to know to keep it until...
weii i understand what you are driving at but what if that 'until' continues to linger non stop.moreover oil is not only the resource in the south east that is not being tapped.a whole lot are lying fallow. |
manny4life: Is that the pics of the "multi billion company"?well i saw the below somewhere in the net and it captures what soludo has in mind.however you know nigeria politicians and their deceit at times It is this kind of vision that drove the rulers of Dubai to turn a semi desert to attract the best of talents and capital from all over the world, and today Dubai is everybody’s dream destination. A similar strategy was deployed by Taiwan, harnessing its strategic location and endowments. When they started, their initial plans were dismissed as ‘unrealistic’.http://www.ngrguardiannews.com/index.php?option=com_content&id=95889%3Asoludo-and-his-vision-of-anambra-as-prosperous-obi-ndigbo&Itemid=566 |
Igbos will never learn. Allow anybody drill for oil on their land instead of waiting until ther country breaks. smh.
orient is an igbo owned company. |
well maybe anambra needs soludo for the 'dubai' dream. |
hmmm' O'dressing. |
