Onlytruth: I have always stated that we have more lands than we need in Igboland.
Abagworo has been one of those spreading lies here that Igboland is small.

Thanks again for the picture bro. You are making us very proud with them. cool
funny you are saying while remembering that you are against obi building roads in ayamelum, anambra east and west, ogbaru which are the areas that are least densely populated(meaning more land available).the truth is from oyi to awka down to owerri in imo(except ogbaru) are densely populated areas.it is difficult within this area to stand at a spot and look around within a distance of one and half km radius without seeing a house or a human being.it is not the same though with enugu and ebonyi.

i have noticed that hardly hear a news of him commisioning anything.if you are not careful you will think nothing is happening there.however i also think he needs to focus on the rural areas this term

spyder880: Many other states have federal roads passing through their states. The location of the road in question is so strategic as to mar the good taste of all the other roads. Imagine enjoying life wella in Nnobi and while going back, tearing a front axle, condemning your suspension or shock absorber or having you car flooded with slimy mud water as you drive away towards Lagos?
the federal goverment last week has given permission to anambra state to construct the anambra end of the expressway.i cannot give you any link because i am typing from a phone.simply type "fg permission onitsha enugu expressway anambra obi" in google and you will get links to the news.at least we can know who to hold responsible now

NigeriaKwenu: You're right. I think we have to change the orientation of our people on how to determine a working governor. The reason why many people think Peter Obi is not working is because he has focused his projects in rural areas as opposed to Sullivan Chime of Enugu who located most of his projects in Enugu town. I think we have to spread development to the interior as much as possible.

Afam4eva(Mods biko unban me)
that is why i opened that thread on why people judge a state by the capital city alone

it is the roche group (an irish firm) that is building those.some houses in uk are built like that but i am not sure how it will fare here

Olodostein: Besides, have you been to Oguta, Ikeduru, Mbano, Okwelle.

In fact, we will fully develop Imo with the FUTURE in mind. That is why Rochas is encouraging education to develop the minds of the people, so that everything will fall into place.

Prof Moses O. E Iwuala published a lecture about sustainable development in which Rochas and Engineering professors from FUTO attended.

A movement is starting to this end. If you are in Owerri, you can follow it up on the Statesman newspaper.

The Western countries are beginning to make a U-turn to Green Solutions. They are re-orientating their mode of development.

No wonder Sigmund Frued wrote "Civilization and its Discontent".
i understand you my brother and i think we are on the same page.i do not like the urban jungle style of most nigerian cities.i am more of a green man too but i still think villages and towns shoul be connected with good tarred roads and also intra town roads.water(public taps),schools well equiped, electricity should be available.i even think orji is a bit overpopulated.i have been to mbano(anara) but that was a longtime ago when i was still in sec. School.what about oguta, ikeduru and okwelle?since you seem to be home how is that multicity development that the governor proposed going?

Obiagu1: I'm not talking about unmaintained dirt roads, of course they should be motorable. In the North, they have many tarred roads that lead to nowhere whereas the villagers have no water and have to fetch water from very deep wells with the help of mai ruwas. The money used to tar those roads should have served the locals better if they were used to build boreholes with pumps.
My point is that roads should be motorable, tarred or not.
obiagu you and i know that a large stretch of untarred road(though mainly ill maintened) in the south east is an invitation to erosion in some parts especially now that trees are being cut down(another issue on its own) because of population increase.

spyder880 are you saying that peeps in your villa will not welcome basic infrastructure like constant light, water ie public or borehole, well equiped public primary and secondary schools, clinics etc if it is not already available?having these does turn an area to hustling and bustling city you know.
Politics › Re: Why Judge The Development Of A State Solely On The Capital City by asha80(op): 4:06pm On Jul 15, 2012
spyder880 and obiagu having tarred roads in villages or more importantly connecting does not neccesarily mean increase in vehicular traffic.a tarred road passes my hometown house but vehicular interval a the gate of our home about 4 to 10 mins
Politics › Re: Why Judge The Development Of A State Solely On The Capital City by asha80(op): 3:50pm On Jul 15, 2012
spyder880: Apart from the capital cities, almost every state in the south east have at least 4 other developed towns. The south east is a place where people build houses in the village with the first lump sum they make, go and see festive seasons like xmas and see everywhere bubbling. Thats why we like to deepen the developement of other towns apart from the capital city.
if you ask me governors should concetrate at least 70 percent of money meant for infrastructure outside their state capital
Politics › Re: Why Judge The Development Of A State Solely On The Capital City by asha80(op): 3:44pm On Jul 15, 2012
mai gaskiya read before replying@ obiagu i am not not saying that the villages should be turned to urban jungles.what i mean is that basic things public water or borhole as the case may be,good tarred roads within and connecting the villages and even well equiped schools etc.i even prefer this type of setting than the kind of urban settings we have.

"donkeys and humans struggling for water in a stream" meaning paucity if not absolute absence of amenities(here public taps or boheholes) just a km outside the city.

rossike some peope do.i did not start thinking about it now.have you heard some people say a state is not developing or developed(infrastructure wise anyway) because much infrastructure work is not going on there?do you think the donkey eg i gave is a joke?moreover the city in question is quite developed by nigerian standards.
Politics › Re: Why Judge The Development Of A State Solely On The Capital City by asha80(op): 2:32pm On Jul 15, 2012
sometimes one just gets the feeling some people cannot think beyod state capitals like as if villages should remain the way they where 50 years ago.
Politics › Why Judge The Development Of A State Solely On The Capital City by asha80(op): 2:13pm On Jul 15, 2012
isn't it funny that some people judge a state by the CAPITAL CITY alone?someone once made a statement here on nairaland that cross river is a developed state because she visited calabar and saw the beauty there.what is the size of calabar compared to cross river state?same thing i hear about owerri and imo state.reminds me of state i once visited and on just about a km of living the capital city i saw donkeys and human beings struggling for water in a stream.u

nna no mind me.i just dey talk as i see for lagos and naija as a whole.it has become survival of the fittest.however concerning handing over schools to original owners some states like delta, anambra, ogun, imo, enugu have done that.i do not know about lagos though i feel the standards might no longer be the same before the government took them over.

Eziachi: You are right, it will end up where others before it ended up. most recently PRONACO and in the past Aburi accord. I want you to reason as a reasonable person you are not project it as something from the Ndigbo, as tradition, should not be accepted. How is some persons or group of person's opinion on how they see a possible better future in their opinion be show boating?

The usual Nigeria way is that few people should be privilege to see certain thing and make all the decision, therefore it has to be in secret. What makes you think Ekweremadu opinion better represents Ndigbo than me or Uwechue, just because he call himself a senator?
Constitutional issue is opened to every body and shades of opinion, irrespective of individual public position.

Scotland may have their chance in 1914 whether they will go alone or continue with GB and so far both pro and against has launched their campaign including both low and mighty in open debates, its not give to exclusive people in government.

Let other group produced theirs, just as PRONACO, OHANEZE has done and let see and compare, debate, agree and disagree on various issues/points raised. If by this kind of sentiment you allowed the likes of Ekweremadu to decide who gets what and who belong where, you will end up with the old ways, because their first concern is to protect whatever their statu quo are
are you minding nduchuks
