Hmmnn, infact, there is no better way to describe you than a shallow minded. Where you not here on NL in June when a man's 12 years girl was carrying his 7months old baby in delta state and Igbos quickly disowned them that they are not Igbo, later you will be dragging them to be Igbo by force but neglect them at any negative thing.
You say delta state. Is delta state an ethnic group?Do you know there are more than 4 ethnic group in delta state? Is ibori an igbo man?

You also said cases in niger delta?so the whole of niger delta is igbo?I am sure to you too Okah and edwin clarke are igbo.

Please stop displaying ignorance.

what proud heritage does igbos have that i will aspire to calle my self igbo ? please carry your yeye igbo land grabbing fairy tales and go away , even if anioma is granted we will still ressist your igbo claims , some communities in anioma are igbos that does not mean all anioma communities are igbos , for your information 11 languages are spoken in anioma , we have anioma of yoruba origins, igala, edo, igbo, and others .so please why dont you mind your business , i am sorry you will be dissapointed when anioma is created and most anioma people will reject you.
this seams like a bitter filled comment.

by the way i heard the people championing anioma state are not sure about the stance of the ika because they said your politicians are sellouts.
I laugh whenever some folks abroad laugh at their brothers at home and accuse them of poverty. But in most families, the ones at home provide the real cash to support their people over there.
Its therefore laughable to hear those broke dudes freezing in heaterless rooms talk of others as not having money to travel or being denied visa. If I want to travel to anywhere, it will be on pure merit, my businesses and investments will make any embassy stamp my passport in the first interview. But who wants an interview sef, am busy watching things here.
Lest I forget, I got two visas when I was 19 and turned them down back then, my mum thought I was crazy but I had a vision. Todayshe things I am the smartest person on earth.
Everyone in naija is not poor!

Kobojunkie:
Not sure what schools you attended, but I know that even in IMO, and now with Abia, public schools are in general free and do not charge tuition but there are small fees charged here and there by teachers that make it seem students pay tuition to attend these schools. The same can be observed across Nigeria.
Government secondary school Owerri along Okigwe road.Probably one the most popular if not the most secondary school in imo state.

Tuitition fees were charged.fees here and there were also charged.
Politics › Re: Which States Have Free Education? by asha80(m): 6:26pm On Oct 25, 2010
Kobojunkie:
Nope . . . they have been free for long. Students do not necessarily pay TUITION but they pay so many other fees, which many people confuse as TUITION.
Actually it was tuition we paid.i can remember my school fees in my primary school was N10 as at primary 5 and was N100 in my SS3.

Kobojunkie:
Well, it's a pity that PUBLIC school education was not free for you back then but it was for some of others.
hehe unless there was some scholarship i was not aware of then( which i strongly doubt) but primary and secondary school then was not free.

i do not know for now though.
Politics › Re: Which States Have Free Education? by asha80(m): 5:40pm On Oct 25, 2010
I think we have to define what free is here.

When someone says free what i have in mind is no amount of money is paid by the student for anything whether tuitition, for uniform, pta, for books etc.
Are you saying that Yoruba parents weren't forceful? And put in mind I said "MORE FORCEFUL".

What are the personal reasons?

And is someone going to answer this question?;
HOW ARE TODAY'S REGION WITH FREE EDUCATION ANY MORE DIFFERENT WITH ONES WITHOUT IT?
Does the quality differ?
Does it produce more students in school?
yea parents might be more forceful if money is coming out of their pocket.

i do not believe in free education when no money is paid by the parents in any way.i believe in subsidized education where cost of getting primary and secondary school is cheaper than otherwise it would have been( the purchasing power of the area has to be taken into cognisance)

Maybe it is me but i feel anything free is not is likely not to be taken seriously.

Also like you said the parents might be more forceful or demanding of their kids perfomances.

Kobojunkie:
Education remains free in many of IMo States Public schools
I went to school in imo in the eightes and ninthies and schools were not free.
Fayemi, better stop with his free education chants for now. Build our road and fix our state as we asked.

How different are the regions with free education to regions without it?

Someone mentioned that Imo state does not have a free education system, yet it can boast of high JAMB applicants. . . . so . . .

I believe that parents would be more forceful with their children to be MORE serious with their education if the money comes out of their pocket.
yorubas that enjoyed free education under awolowo might disagree with you huh

personally though i do not believe in free education because of personal reasons.

You need to worry about having the free education first, before worrying about the quality of it.

Don't put the cart before the horse goes the old saying.
You are very wrong here my guy.Of what use is the free education if the quality is rubbish huh

Most parents will willingly pay for a better quality of education than a so called free one.

As for putting the cart before the horse in this scenario it is actually the other way round
Politics › Re: Which States Have Free Education? by asha80(m): 7:37pm On Oct 24, 2010
i am actually more interested in the quality of the free education than just free education as the schools that are supposedly free are public schools

this brings me back to the actual subject of the thread

i think the will be the first part of Nigeria to develop, and it's already being seen in Rivers which is miles ahead of the rest of the country in HDI, and i think it will be the least focused on social welfare programs because is a very un-igbo concept.
i guess that explains why there was nothing like free education in the then eastern region.
