Literature / Re: "The Place Of Rest" -Wasimi Chronicles by Asiseeit: 12:53am On Mar 03, 2021 |
Thoroughly enjoyed reading Wasimi chronicles. Spent 2 hours+ of my sleep time and I don't regret it...yet(I'm sure I will by 6am). I've known (about) you on NL, but this tales has shown me a new side of you. Cool. To think we're from the same state too. Feeling kindred. 1 Like |

jumper524: You're correct man. The whole situation is very wrong and poorly handled. There is already animosity against the North, this was just an opportunity to attack. This in turn will inflame the Northerners and with the Igbos already demanding secession, a civil war is on the horizon. I hope I'm wrong. I hope the Northerners will prove to be the bigger people by not retaliating. |

This country is finished! Southerners complaining that Northerners are killing them, Northerners complaining that Southerners are killing them. Both blaming the government for keeping silent. Government seems to have switched to airplane mode, so is oblivious to what's happening in the country except for @Lekkitollgate Wahala everywhere so tey fundamental issues such as unemployment, corruption, lack of infrastructure don relegate. About the Oyo shasha wahala, why was the hausa killer not identified and handed over to be dealt with according? This would have saved lives and properties |

wink2015: You speak like you were there as the whole thing unfolded. If not and this is an assumption, then nah wa o. I dunno what to say to you. On the matter of apportioning blame, I don't understand why some are saying the MD is at fault while the woman isn't, or the Woman is at fault but not the MD, when in fact, THEY ARE BOTH AT FAULT. It's pointless trying to determine who is more culpable, they both did the act. Both are guilty. Period. Let's not forget the MD's wife too(if he has (only) one) who is also a victim. My personal takeaway : These things - betrayals, heartbreaks - have consequences. People should stop toying with others emotions (and lives as in this case). Be strictly single or strictly married, don't lead people on. Stop it now, rather than later. I say this to myself and everyone who cares to listen. 1 Like |

paqman: OP may be inconsistent in updating, yes, but repugnant?! Do you even know what it means? If you don't, it means "utter disgust". I'm hoping you used the word wrongly (if so, modify and apologise), if on the other hand you used the term knowing exactly what it means, then your entitlement attitude and your comment are repugnant...and it shows the kinda person you are...yep, same R word you used. People can be unbelievable. If you can't deal with the inconsistency, it's better to unfollow than insult. If you want more consistency, there are better ways to achieve that than insults. 3 Likes |

NYSC / Re: NYSC Camp Punishment : Share Your Experiences by Asiseeit: 10:21pm On Nov 15, 2020 |
None personally, but was part of a collective punishment. November/December 2015, Okada, Edo. Last Friday before we left camp on Monday, freezing night, harmattan Whole camp made to stand (not allowed to sit on the floor), with just our white on white at the parade ground from 1am till 5am. The cold was vicious. Several people collapse/fainted, the first aid was busy. I thought about my parents and siblings sleeping comfortably on their warm beds and wondered what I got myself into. Offence? We didn't stand still when the biggle was blown the previous evening. Attendance was checked for every platoon (one girl was found in Mami market running things. Lol). We survived the night, but by morning the Aluta guys(mostly poly students) mobilized around 7am and stormed the camp commandant residence. We had the sympathy of the Nysc staff who were unaware of our travails until the morning. We (I wasn't really part of the Aluta, just observed from distance) threw our breakfast, bread and tea at the entrance of the commandant's residence. The soldiers threatened to punish us but the nysc officials would have none of it, not sure the corpers woulda submitted anyway. So the soldiers left us angry that they were not being allowed to carry out their job of disciplining us. From that Friday till we left, no more soldier was seen around except those guarding the premises and those training those marching. We woke up anytime. But that night was bloody, several people fainted. I wished I could too. 3 Likes |

SS 3. I went to those private school where they help students during WAEC (this was in addition to maaaddd teaching/tutoring. School was standard, I guess they just wanted to be absolutely sure/not take chances) One day, during one of those 7-8am morning classes for finalists, the teacher was pissed that people weren't paying attention. I replied and told her that what's the point, we'll be taught anyway. Straight, she marched to the principal office. Not long after I was called to the proprietor's office, there I met the principal and proprietor. I was a prefect BTW, and was academically sound. Anyway, I wasn't even grilled or anything, I was just asked if I was depending on them. I told them I didn't need it, and to prove to them, I'll blast my mock SSCE. I blasted it, topped the whole science class. Anyways, during the real WAEC & NECO, we were not taught. The school stop teaching their students. 4 Likes |

I have a friend that experienced exactly same thing 2017/18. His was so bad that they had to involve the police(she was threatening to harm their kid). They are "okay" now. Okay in the sense that she's no longer troublesome. The solution was money. My guy got a better job. So he's able to always keep the house stocked with food and subscription on dstv. That's the only solution. As long as there's no threat to life, you just have to endure it till you get better financially. BTW, my friend is not happy, he's just accepted the situation. This is sad cos he's just 32 years old. Such kind of people can't make one happy as life partners. 1 Like |
