The Top 30 African companies by market Capitalization are worth a combined ~$117bn as at Mar 31 2022.

The MTN Group is the largest [African ] company by market cap. It is worth ~ $24bn.
Dangote group a distant second at ~$11bn.

If there'll be a ~ $40bn company in Africa, it'll be Naspers. However it's not currently listed but its portfolio companies are quite close when combined.



N.B. Private Companies were obviously excluded from this report BUT it's hard to think of any African Private company up to the mettle of a JCB (UK) or Leibherr (Germany). And both these companies aren't even up to $40bn yet.

So sad.

Hardly a behaviour expected of people supposed to be the richest Nigerians.

I suppose they're not too different from the norm (typical Nigerian city) in this way.
