Sports / Re: Were The Super Falcons Really Picked Up From The Airport In A Trailer? by asscend: 1:49am On Nov 17, 2010
Which is the best available truck in Nigeria to carry them?

I have a feeling this is what is easily available; hence they used it.

If you don't like it please show us better ones that would have been used so we can compare and send it to the National assembly for approval. May be one billion naira will be allocated for the purchase. (Don't come back and cry foul when they approve it).

Any way guys this is a good opportunity to start a business in this sector as i see the demand is huge.

Politics / Re: Ibb's Interview On Moments With Mo by asscend: 5:37pm On Nov 02, 2010
At least IBB is conducting interviews, what are the other candidates doing?  They should also do their own.  I am not a supporter of IBB in any way but at least i give him credit for doing the interview, infact he should even do more and more and more since other politicians are folding their hands.  It reminds us all that there is an election coming up and we should get to know the candidates.

We have an election in less than 5months and we still don't know the official candidiates for the various parties.  Only in Nigeria do we have such stupidity.

Yes he is disliked by many however he is showing the others how to campaign and not just coming out and shouting 'PDP' 'power'.

Politics / Re: Hurray:Dubai Court Extradites Ibori To London by asscend: 3:30pm On Oct 18, 2010
Justice is to be served.  If ibori has a case to answer he must answer it in the Uk.  Trust me every indication points that this man will be jailed in the uk for at least 1year.  It might sound small such crimes don't usually have fixed jail terms.  The judge decides it.

Everyone crying about Ibru and Bode George, they are only serving what was stipulated  by the judge in this instance. He could give them more years if he wanted or even shorter terms.

You can all press for more jail terms for future culprits like in the case of MADOFF.

Me for one hopes ibori is jailed and his assets sold off.  Maybe the proceeds will be returned to Delta (i doubt it).  However a well documented punishment must be served on him.  ODILI is next.  Do you guys have any idea of the properties this man bought in London?  Na im cause property boom and wen the money dried up credit crunch hit  cheesy cheesy cheesy

Nigerian Journalists, please take note on how to report. For decades our journalists have always thought that journalism is all about reading news that comes to them.

If they will only go out; they will find plenty of news like this and expose many Nigerians involved in shabby deals.

This is a wake up call for NUJ. You are too backward. Learn from the sting operations your fellow journalist do around the world only then will we get rid off many corrupt minds in our system.
Politics / Re: Anambra Is The Brain Box Of Nigeria-jonathan by asscend: 10:31pm On Oct 16, 2010
Instead of looking at all the positives that has come out from his visit to Anambra some people are already using it as an agenda to instigate traibalism.

GEJ has been visiting other states for the last one month and where ever he has been has said something unique about the state.  It is Anambra's turn let them bask in it.

Thank God there are still people manufacturing in Nigeria regardless of the obstacles.  if they just came on nairaland and run their mouths nothing will be done.

Lets always try and give credit and think of ways to improve our nation.  Negative critics go no where.  Bring out alternatives not just running your mouth on people that are already doing something.

Yes i agree with GEJ, Anambra is indeed the brain box of Nigeria.  Anyone angry with his statement should go and make their own state 'the brain box'.  Lets learn to give credit to whom it is due.
Politics / Re: Fec Approves N927m ($6.5m) For Fct Waste Bins by asscend: 5:40pm On Sep 23, 2010
Its time to present this matter to your senator so that it can be debated upon, the question is how many have access to their senators?

Its matters like this that the House should wake up and do their job but will they do it?

The challenge should go to the plastic industry to produce the bins needed and show it to the Nigerian public so they can openly expose the govt.  The talking should be matched by action.
Politics / Re: Fec Approves N927m ($6.5m) For Fct Waste Bins by asscend: 5:26pm On Sep 23, 2010
Why all the name calling on this thread.  Please every one is entitled to their views and should not be abused.

The main thing is that every one present their case clearly.

If you guys were in the National assembly you will be exchanging blows by now, is that not what we see in some state assemblies?  That happens when people like yourselves start bashing each other.

Please debate joyfully, thats the joy of a civilized people.

Ha ha, only hat trick. Pray they dont get hammerd by spurs?

Arsenal has a good record in the cup but Spurs might pull this off with another wonder strike. Mr Fabianski dey post remember,

I am not confident with Arsenal today, i sense defeat and another trophyless season looms closer.

Hope they prove me wrong but defeat will not suprise me.

Guys mikeansy is not the problem He is only noteing the bigger issue. I support his stand.

All the bashing is not needed as he is only pointing out the facts here.

PDP laws should reflect the future also and not just for the benefit of those in office today.

All those bashing fashola, it will be good if you set up an opposition party and critticise openly. Dont come and hide under this platform and do it.

For the fact Fashola has so many critics shows he is doing so so so so so much.

Oh thanks Alloy for the pictures. We celebrate success. He is doing well for the state. If he is eating money can he please eat more because we can see the works he is doing everyday. What about others that take the money and there is no work done?
Politics / Re: Nigerian Police Patrol Team Vehicle by asscend: 5:09pm On May 27, 2010
No maintainance culture. They feel driving a police car is driving no man's property but they fail to recognise that the car has been entrusted to them for good keeping which should include regular maintainnace inside and outside.

The image of their cars is a reflection of their moral.

See the cars of police pple in other countries you will be proud of the police force.

The IG should be summoned to the senate to explain to Nigerians this issue of batterd cars.
Business / Re: Event Planning And Hall For Wedding And Parties ! by asscend: 2:43pm On May 27, 2010
You're idea of an event center is brilliant as the demand out weighs supply in Naija at the moment. How ever; i don't know how much you are putting into your project as such projects requires plenty bux.

Three things you must have in mind

Parking/ Transport _ The venue should have a good parking facility (which many Naija halls don't have). Many investors just build buildings without factoring parking into it as they feel people can park on the roads or where ever. Remember this is what causes traffic jams on our roads. Also your intended venue must have good transport links or you provide transport to your venue.

CAPACITY - How many people is your hall or halls going to take?
Statistics show in Nigeria that big halls have been taken over by churches and there is every possibility that yours might go the same way. The reason being the churches have enough funds to pay the rent every week. Most times owners of such builds prefer to take the bulk cash from these churches and b4 u know it your building has become a church building. (pls note i don't have anything against any church that does this).

Know your target audience and tailor your building towards them. if its for weddings, decorate it to say gradiour. (it cost money but its worth it).

The roof must be high. Don't make the mistake of having a typical house roof height. This must delibrately be a high roof building. This helps for better video recording as you can have cameras high up; thus capturing the whole hall with one swing. This is very vital dont ignore this one as people will pay more for such facilities.

Just implementing these few tips will put you ahead, there is more but start with this. Enjoy your project and dont hesistate to ask more questions as i see your too inquisitive on your forum, i like that,

Then we wonda why we don't do well in competitions? This is typical of those that run things in our nation. No fore sight,

They think its just turn up and play,

Money allocated for this will be stashed in some ones account and who suffers, the nation.
Sports / Re: Nigeria Online Football Betting Site What Do You Think? Cool Or Not Cool by asscend: 8:12pm On May 21, 2010
Brilliant idea,

Just make it simple and easy to use. Dont 4get to sign up to all gambling laws in Naija and outside.

Enjoyyyyyyy,

i think they should draft some of them into the men's team, they just might do better.

They will teach the others how to win trophies,

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: How Will Arsenal Fair Without Fabregas by asscend: 7:41pm On May 21, 2010
Arsenal will survive well with out him. They just need to get a good goal keeper and another defender.

i think with Fab going, there will adopt a 442 style of play with more emphasis on the strikers since they will have Van and Chamack.

Wish they could buy Ateta, at least he will shoot from long range, thats what the team lacks at the moment.

Anyway its wishful thinking as mr Wenger has his own plan. He must have lined up another french midfielder (hope its not another sylvestere) for free or very cheap to replace fab, watch that space.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: Arsenal Fan Thread: For Gunners Only by asscend: 7:29pm On May 21, 2010
Haleluiah, Arsene has gotten a free addition.

Are there any other out of contract players out there? Pls guyz send the list to Arsene; he will love you for evermore.

Just hope he gets rid off Silvestere and Denilson as well.

The next will be to sell his best player for a top price. its all about the budget. i Just hope he gets rid off Silvestere and Denilson as well.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: Arsenal Fan Thread: For Gunners Only by asscend: 5:53pm On May 20, 2010
Arsene sold Anelka, Henry, Perez, guys who were at their peak.

He will sell Fab as well. Remember, this is a business and as long as he keeps getting a bountiful return for those board members, his job is safe.

This club is content with 3rd place and oh yes champion's league qualification.

its high times the fans realise this. The man who was pushing the club forward (David Dein) was forced out by those profit hungry board members. Since then Arsenal has been on the slide.

Will it get better, i dont think so until two things happen, Arsene is sent up stairs to become a board member and a new manager is appointed; or a take over of the club happens.

Will Arsenal win anything next season? No No, My prediction is 4th place. unless major improvements are made to the squad, But the reverse is the case as they are selling the best players and are not adding extra reinforcements.

i will like to see Arsenal fans protest in their stadium and put Arsene under pressure. That man is too relaxed, Until they do so they will continue to get what they are getting now.
