Business / Re: Building Hotel Around Ajah. by asscend: 10:16pm On Feb 11, 2010
Before you build a hotel, ask yourself what tourism need your meeting in the area.

The hotels already there are they doing well, by this i mean; are the fully booked every day of the week and turn guests away?

You need to do your feasibility study properly other wise you will just be building a guest house for weekenders who want to come and get laid.

You might be finacially better off building a very large confrence center or building flats to let since you said its a storey building more flats will fit in.

Be wise and don't throw your money away into a white elephant project.

All the best in what ever you decide!

Business / Re: Setting Up Computer School by asscend: 10:04pm On Feb 11, 2010
Well done for spotting a need. The next thing is to go on to meet that need.

First of all, what is the distance to the nearest one in the area? Are the people comfortable traveling out to attend such a school, by this i mean they might not beleive anything good can come from their area.

You can start small and grow. Look for an office or shop space(rent or partner with an exsisting business).

Buy a few computers (even 4computers will do and start), remember your students are your adverts.

As money comes in; you use that money to re-invest. (Buy more equipments).

Please note this is a longer term thing so please keep your job for now while you grow your business, in a short while you will resign from your job and focus on your business.

Sit down now and do a quick budget estimate. Let it be very realistic, no need for saying you need 1millon naira wen you can start with 70k.

Most important, enjoy every stage. Don't be afraid of failing. If u don't do it you have also failed. So get on with it. Some one else might beat you to it, so act fast now. All the best!

Politics / Re: President Jonathan "demotes" Aondoakaa To Minister Of Special Duties by asscend: 2:17am On Feb 11, 2010
he does special things. The position is undefined but he can be sent to represent us in Haiti, at least by the time he see suffering people there he might repent of his wickedness and selfishness.
Politics / Re: Breaking News: Obi Re-elected Anambra State Governor: by asscend: 9:16pm On Feb 08, 2010
Peter Obi has done well for his state, no wonder he won best Governor for Fiscal Discipline. The issue with Anambra has been the right foundation. Peter Obi is building the right foundations in which succesive governments can thrive. Remember his tenure was also marked with one court case or another. Give him another four years and see what will happen.

As long as the right foundation is buit in this i mean proper accountability structures in the various arms of govt, then Nigeria will be a better nation.

We must move from respecting an 'INDIVIDUAL' only to respecting the OFFICE /department in which the individual represents.

Politics / Re: Count Down To Anambra Election. by asscend: 9:42pm On Jan 23, 2010
This is a good thread, looking for ways and mobilizing people to cover the elections which ever way possibe. It is not for you to campaign for the candidiates. Go to the villages and towns to do so and leave this thread for well meaning Anambra youths who beleive in free and fair elections or exposing wicked and criminal politicians.

Absolutely creative work. One post that no one has criticised, am glad Nairaland can speak with one voice. Where are the traibalist, sorry your voice is not heard.
Business / Re: Reality Tv Show by asscend: 5:38pm On Dec 02, 2009
What capital? its not every thing you need capital for, however i don't know what your idea is and if it requires a huge investment, well like i said package your idea and sell it to those that matter.
Business / Re: Reality Tv Show by asscend: 10:20pm On Dec 01, 2009
Go to a media company and tell them your idea, if they like it they will take the concept and pay you something. Alternatively, set up your own media company and approach a tv station to air your show. They will still pay you royalty for it but it could be much more. The most important thing is make sure what your about to do is not copy right protected or Patented. All the best.

For all you critics and bashers of Bishop or other men of God, get ready, they will only get bigger, richer, and more influential while you wallow in mediocraty. Can't you see that the more you abuse them the bigger they get. Be wise and stop this foolisness.
If you say they are fake, produce the original and until you produce the original, they remain the genuine ones. What Bishop is doing is great and i commend him for that. its just the begining, you will see more of such from other churches, then i will see if you will commit sucide.
Thank you Bishop.

As long as we get rid of Julius Berger, who its proven are thieves with buldozers inflating contracts and doing shabby jobs. Then we can get the right people to do the jobs.

Nigerian Engineers, get ready. Its your time now!

Well said. Great analysis.
Sports / Re: Should The U-17 Boys Replace The Super Eagles? by asscend: 3:29pm On Nov 13, 2009
Yes they can! As long as Politics does not come into this team they will do well at any level Take govt hands off football and you will see Nigeria flourish in international football. This team has done well because there was no political interferance on choosing the team. The coach was left to do his job. Nigerian Govt stop running our football and provide infastructures only.
Romance / Re: When A Lady Returned Your Gift: by asscend: 3:18pm On Nov 13, 2009
Poster, be careful. You might think she has fallen for you only for you to discover that your setting yourself up for more trouble. "she might comfront you and ask you if you think your gift can tept her?" Go with your heart and like you said, play it cool. Let her do the talking now. Women have a funny way of showing emotions sometimes. Remember! 'That you give some one gifts does not mean you have access to his or her life'. You've got to earn it.
Family / Re: When Is A Woman Ready For Marriage by asscend: 3:04pm On Nov 13, 2009
its not the church's fault. They are individuals that require that prayer. its not for every body so as a single lady if your not thinking of marriage, forget it and say amen for your sister in christ who really requires that prayer. Its not by force, for you to receive.
Business / Re: Which Of These Businesses Is More Viable In Nigeria? by asscend: 6:01pm On Nov 12, 2009
You can share office with some one for now. 500k is enough money to start something and grow your business. The computer repairs is good as people will always need your service.

Politics / Re: James Ibori On Ben Television by asscend: 5:23pm On Nov 12, 2009
Amongst some of the laughable statements he made were that any Nigerian living abroad who criticizes the Nigerian Government should loose Consular support from Nigerian Embassies and High Commissions.

We have no High commission in the UK. its a low commission. You are better off going into a Canadian Embassy as a nigerian where help will be renderd, than going into the Nigerian high commission where they will kick you out b4 you even talk.

James you are out of touch, prove you never went to serve your people.
Politics / Re: 2 Female Corps Members Raped In Kano by asscend: 5:13pm On Nov 12, 2009
NYSC should be scrapped. It has not done anything for Nigerians. its just another avenue to steal funds. The govt should be sued for millions in damages for these victims.
Politics / Re: This Is For All Cyber Cowards! by asscend: 4:13pm On Nov 12, 2009
When a nation is corrupt, it means the citizens are corrupt. We may not like it but its a fact. Corruption is to be fought on every level. We need a reorientation of our minds. Get rid of greed and you will see a different Nigeria.
Travel / Re: When Did Peckham (In London) Get Annexed By Nigeria? by asscend: 4:04pm On Nov 12, 2009
Thats where many of them can afford for now, at least they did not loot Nigerian money to come and buy houses in Hampstead or Kensington.
Travel / Re: When Did Peckham (In London) Get Annexed By Nigeria? by asscend: 3:58pm On Nov 12, 2009
Has any one bought a house in Peckham recently? Its way higher than many other boroughs in the UK.  The rental value in that area is brilliant, so while you are all posting insults at Peckam, people are making serious money in the area by investing in properties and other businesses.
Celebrities / Re: Mercy Rocks Her New Look by asscend: 11:11pm On Nov 11, 2009
Mercy has cut her hair and earned money from it. How much have you earned from all the hair do's you have been doing? The answer is none. She is doing her job and her job discription demanded that she cut her hair for that role.
Nigerians, learn to appreciate your own and stop the bashing. Mercy Johnson is hot hot hot and guys cant deny that. All the bashing Mercy gets is from guys who really want her but cant get her. How different is she from Jennifer LOpez or other stars who flaunt their bodies or cut their hair? Do you also bash those ones?
Learn to celebrate Nigerian beauties who are doing a great job in different fields. Mercy is still the best in what she does.

THANK YOU POSTER, TRUST CALABAR, SEE HOW THE STADIUM IS FULL, ITS HIGH TIME THEY STOP PLAYING MATCHES IN ABUJA AND MOVE IT TO PLACES WHERE PEOPLE WILL GO TO WATCH. SO FAR IT PROVES THE SOUTH IS THE PLACE TO PLAY MATCHES.
I HOPE THEY CAN GET OUR LOCAL LEAGUES TO BE THIS FUN PACKED.
Music/Radio / Re: Mercy Johnson Is Working On Her Album by asscend: 9:43pm On Nov 11, 2009
Stop the bashing guyz, if she wants to sing, its up to her. Learn to support your own people.  If she was an American I'm sure all of you would have been saying "go girl".
She is a very good actress and i will say no one plays the role she plays better. If she wants to add singing to her acting profession, its up to her.  Dont buy her music thats all but leave her alone, its her choice.

The fact remains she has a good body and keeps fit, on like many of her nolly wood counterparts.  GO MERCY! GO MERCY! GO MERCY!

Can someone put a figure on how much is looted in Nigeria every second?
I am sure by the time i finish typing my short post at least 1 million naira is gone from the tresury [and thats 30 seconds!!]

Thats a fantastic analysis. This is the best way to analyse looted funds from our nation. if Nigerians will use this to work out how much of our money has been stolen they will demand for such politicians to be shot by firing squad in public. Its time we wake up and fight this demonic act of stealing, It is so shameful.
