Business / Re: Ways Of Packaging Yams In Smaller Quantity For Final Consumers by asscend: 6:20pm On Feb 22, 2010
You have a brilliant business on your hands.

What our country needs is food preservation techniques.

The amount of food wasted in our nation ought not to be so.

Try grinding the yam into powder format. You can still make pounded yam from it, and use it for other chemicals.

Freezing yam can be considerd. (This sounds strange but i have frozen yam on many occassions after i bought it and cooked it when i wanted; oh yes it could change colour but its still yam when cooked).

Try putting it into tins and selling it, just like you do with plum tomatoes.

So many ways to preserve, if you can get this right, trust me, you will be bigger than the banks.

i don't mind buying your yams as well as partnering with you. Anyway what part of the country are the yams from?
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: Highest Earners In Football 2010 by asscend: 5:54pm On Feb 22, 2010
Good for them.

No nigerian in the ranks because our foot ball was killed by politicians.

We need goal thirsty strikers like Amokachi brought back into our national team.

Anyway, all these players should save their money as they will not always be earning it.
Politics / Re: 'you Cannot Run In 2011' Obasanjo Tells Jonathan by asscend: 5:44pm On Feb 22, 2010
Hopefully there will be an election next year. My question is,

Where are the candidiates?

is this not the time to start canvassing for votes?

if we have true candidiates that will run, this is the time for their voice to be heard, and make it clear to PDP that they failed the nation.

If we know the candidiates now, the issue of Jonathan or Yaradull ruling will not arise as we will all be aware that whoever rules now will be flushed out next year. NIGERIANS JOIN US TO FLUSH OUT the 'politicians deceiving party' come 2011.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: Everton V Man Utd [3 - 1] On Saturday 20th February by asscend: 9:02pm On Feb 19, 2010
Another full blown encounter.

Man u should win, but i think there will be plenty of cards here.

Everton should fight for at least a draw, but united class will prevail.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: Arsenal V Sunderland [2 - 0] On Saturday 20th February by asscend: 8:52pm On Feb 19, 2010
DARREN BENT WILL SCORE AGAIN.

ARSENAL NEVER SEEM TO LEARN HOW TO HANDLE THEIR TORMENTORS (DROGBA & BENT).

MY HEART TELLS ME 1-1 DRAW, HOW EVER HOPE ARSENAL WINS 2-1.

I WONDER WHERE THE GOALS WILL COME FROM ESPECIALLY IF SUNDERLAND PACKS THE BUS IN THEIR OWN GOAL AREA.
Business / Re: Help! Am A Student And I Want To Start Business. Pls I Need Your Advice. by asscend: 6:28pm On Feb 19, 2010
Whats your field of study?

Are you doing something like medcine that requires your full attention studying?

Or are you a part time student?

With this we can answer and help you more.

Do something related to your field of study, that way it will keep your focus on your books as well as help you earn cash.

There is no fast cuts except fraud or armed robbry or prostution. (Do you want that? I'm sure you don't).

Naija needs more industries that can employ students to do part time work. This way it will help our students focus more on their studies.

All the best as you find out what you reall like doing and how you can turn it into a business.

DOMINATE POSESSION YES, BUT NO END PRODUCT.

I KNOW YOU THINK YOUR'E THE ONLY ONE THAT KNOWS FOOT BALL, HOWEVER EVEN PAID PUNDITS AND COMENTATORS ARE SAYING THE SAME THING.

mR cRACKLES, THE OWN GOAL CAME AS A RESULT OF SHOOTING TOWARDS THE POST.

ARSENAL DID NOT DO THAT TODAY.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: Champions League: Porto Vs Arsenal On 17th February [2 - 1] by asscend: 10:42pm On Feb 17, 2010
tHIS IS THE PROBLEM WITH THIS TEAM.--- SHOOTING.

CHELSEA HAS GOT LAMPARD

MAN U HAS - SCHOLES, CARRICK & ROONEY

LIVERPOOL HAS GERRAD

BUT ARSENAL, NO ONE.

THEY PREFER TO PASS THE BALL WITH NO END RESULT AT THE FINAL STAGE.

THATS WHY THEY LOST TODAY AND THAT HAS BEEN THEIR MAJOR PROBLEM WEN THEY LOOSE MATCHES.

ARSENAL SHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: Champions League: Porto Vs Arsenal On 17th February [2 - 1] by asscend: 10:37pm On Feb 17, 2010

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: Champions League: Porto Vs Arsenal On 17th February [2 - 1] by asscend: 10:35pm On Feb 17, 2010
They cant even do something decent with all the corners they have had.

The issue with this team is that they can't score.

Period.  Buy proper strikers who can shoot.

ARSENAL SHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: Champions League: Porto Vs Arsenal On 17th February [2 - 1] by asscend: 10:32pm On Feb 17, 2010
Vela and Walcot, Feather weights.

They cant even touch the ball.

Arsenal paying the price of relying on small boys.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: Champions League: Porto Vs Arsenal On 17th February [2 - 1] by asscend: 10:23pm On Feb 17, 2010
This match might end 3-1.  Porto look more likely to score based on Arsenal's comedy defending.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: Champions League: Porto Vs Arsenal On 17th February [2 - 1] by asscend: 10:20pm On Feb 17, 2010

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: Arsenal Fan Thread: For Gunners Only. by asscend: 7:57pm On Feb 17, 2010
You guyz are not paid for all this bashing and analysis.

Get constructive and talk about how to move your clubs forward.

Weather Arsenal wins or looses, the players get paid, how much have you earned from crying or negative comments?

Be constructive and put your sugestions in appropraite manners.

Wenger is the manager for now, its up to him to do what he likes since the board have allowed it to be so. If the fans demand a change, go to the stadium and protest.

Lets keep this forum free from bashing here or there and become more constructive. Take ur statistics to AIT & they just might pay you.
Business / Re: Any Advice On Transportantion Biz? by asscend: 6:43pm On Feb 17, 2010
The best thing for you wil be to Lease your bus or truck to a transport company.

They will maintain and run your vechile and will give you an agreed return weekly or monthly.

This way you will have peace of mind and can venture into other things.

if you want to go it alone, its up to you but be ready for everything possible, from driver issues to union issues e.t.c.

You're providing a service to the people so its good but please make sure your bus or truck is road worthy. The days of those useless DAMfO busses are coming to an end.

All the best!

Poster, u failed to give us a clue of the kind of business ur venturing into. With that i would have helped free of charge; however hope you contact the numbers and emails others have given to you.

Remember there is a charge for their service after consultancy.

in the mean time, ensure whichever name you pick is easy to remember by the public.

Its your brand so be proud of it and remember it represents you.

All the best!
Politics / Re: Breaking News! Rilwan Lukman, Petroleum Minister Resigns by asscend: 3:45am On Feb 17, 2010
in most developed nations, when ministers fail to deliver, they automatically resign.

The Ministers that ought to resign for obvious poor performance are 'Petroleum Minister' and 'Power and Steel Minister".

They promised and could not deliver. Stand down and let others get on with the job.

Where is the 6000mega watts promised? Why are there petrol cues and where are our functioning refinaries?

Lastly, Professor Iwu should go.

Nairalanders, start the campaign for none performing ministers to resign.

The 3 mentioned above are the most obvious now! Others will join shortly.

ARSENAL AN EXTENSION OF AYAX OF AMSTERDAM.  SAME SELLING POLICY.

THE ONLY DIFFERENCE IS THAT AYAX WON SILVER WARE, BUT THEIR RAISING KIDS AND SELLING THEM HAS CAUGHT UP WITH THEM AND THEY ARE FALLING BEHIND IN THE DUTCH LEAGUE.

THAT'S A SIMILAR TREND IN ARSENAL.

DEBOSKY WELL DONE FOR YOUR INSIGHT.

WE KEEP HEARING THERE IS MONEY TO SPEND, SO WHY THEN IS IT NOT SPENT ON PLAYERS? MY CONCLUSION IS THAT ARSENAL IS BROKE AND THE MANAGER AND BOARD ARE PLAYING CAT AND MOUSE;

THE FANS MUST PROTEST AND SAY ENOUGH IS ENOUGH.  BY THE TIME THEY DONT ATTEND A CLASH WITH CHELSEA, THEY WILL BE SENDING A BIG MESSAGE TO ARSENE STURBON AND THOSE SILLY EXECUTIVES.
Business / Re: Building Hotel Around Ajah. by asscend: 2:45pm On Feb 16, 2010
Don't forget to register with the Nigerian Tourism Board. Then as you grow; you register with affiliates from other countries.

From your posts i guess your trying to build a Guest House, which is great.

Many Hotels in Nigeria ought not to be called hotels, they are merely Motels or Guest houses or Holiday INNs,

Go to other countries and see what they call hotels. Hotels represent Luxury on a massive scale.

Only in Naija we will build a hut and call it a hotel.
Business / Re: Is Ice Block Production And Selling Business Really Profitable by asscend: 6:50pm On Feb 15, 2010
True word Nzeogu. You said it well.

As long as one can provide reliable source of power, then you have a business.

The business is good; so start with what you have. But remember you have a lot of over-head costs.

All the best, start and grow it. As long as u have ice blocks u will have buyers.

All the best!

Business / Re: 2010 Best Business Idea And Advice by asscend: 6:42pm On Feb 15, 2010
When are we going to be free of this import madness? i don't see an end to it,

Yes its quick money but are we really solving a problem?

Please lets come up with better ideas on how to improve our economy and stop turning Nigerians into a consumer nation which is what we have become.

Well done you contributed anyway; however i shall second the person that said tap into the 'service sector'. It is huge and is still at the begining stage in Naija.
Business / Re: Building Hotel Around Ajah. by asscend: 10:56pm On Feb 11, 2010
You know what you want, thats good.  The idea is to have daily cash flow hence the hotel/ guest house.

Okay, ensure you make your hotel very user friendly, in this i mean homely and compact.  Too many hotels in Nigeria are not user friendly.

Make yours that and you will be busy every day.
Business / Re: Always Protect Your Ideas Before Submitting Proposals by asscend: 10:46pm On Feb 11, 2010
@ Trends, you are an instant hit. Kai, make sure you charge them all for your services. See as them dey give u e.mail address.

Nice post, very insightful. Best post for the month of Feb so far.

Guyz pls go to Nigerian Copyright commission nearest to you to tender your ideas so that they can advice you if idea is already copy righted or they will proceed to patent or 'Copy Right' your idea. . Thats why the commission was set up many years ago. (this commission will soon be the busiest in the country after NNPC).

Please remmber there is a fee to be paid at the commission and its not 1,000naira. its some bux but its worth it.
