BornAgainMay:The Anambra election being conducted is not the issue here. IPOB's position is that of boycotting the elections. Election boycott is legal. As an Anambra man and Biafran suppprter, Im hoping for a massive boycott of the election by our people. If 70% or more of eligible voters in Anambra abstain from voting and enjoy 'ofe Nsala' at home on that day, I will be a happy man and I believe that most states in the SS/SE will follow suit in 2019. Im not saying that a successful boycott of the elections will be enough to bring Biafra but it is a massive step in the right direction. We need a political revolution and Anambra will be the starting point Ofe Nsala Day! |
TheFreeOne:Of course |
farem:What the point of this thread? You like quoting what people said one month later or something? |
seunmsg:Kanu and IPOB are the biggest reasons put foward by agitators if restructuring as ti why Nigeria should be restructured. There us actually no agitation for restructuring except word of mouth. The active agitation people could see was that of IPOB. With IPOB proscribed, the call for restructuring has been weakend as there is no active agitation that can now be used as a case point for restructuring |
Ohaneze President-General gave a speech today at chatham house, UK, in which he called for restructuring, spoke on the illegality of IPOB proscription and called the declaration of Arewa youths treasonable. Below are excerpts of his speech and the video. "In the recent past, self determinstion groups have sprung up in Nigeria. The self determination groups include IPOB, MASSOB,YOLICOM, Arewa Youths, Niger Delta Republic and Republic Of the Middle Belt. Of all these groups, IPOB and Boko Haram have been designated as terrorist organisations by the federal government. This development in relation to IPOB is unfortunate. Boko Haram is an armed organisation which has attacked and occupied Nigerian territory, hoisting its flag and appointing local government authority governments. It has abducted and abused Nigerian women, kidnapped and imprisoned many and killed over 200,000 people. It is still involved in guerilla warfare against Nigeria, yet the federal government is negotiating with them. No member of Boko Haram captured by the military is under trial in Nigeria. Members of this federal government are on record for condemning previous federal government for brutal murder of Boko Haram members and condemning the retired chief of Army staff for zealous prosecution of the anti-terror war. Members of the sect who confessed to a change of mind have been recieved along with their abducted female partners in the presidency and rehabilitated. The declaration of IPOB as a terrorist organisation is in my view, hurried, unfair and not in conformity with the internment of the law. Whereas I'm not in agreement with some of the methods of IPOB like its inappropriate and divisive broadcasts, the uncontested evidence given by the attorney general of the federation in an interlocutory action claiming that IPOB attempted or actually snatched guns from law enforcement agents are, if proven, merely criminal offences. The do not constitute enough evidence to meet international law definition of a terrorist organisation. The United States Embassy in Nigeria only three days ago shared this conclusion of mine and asserted that the United States government does not recignise IPOB as a terrorist organisation This same unarmed IPOB that is being stigmatised by the Nigerian government had its members murdered in Asaba, Mkpor, Aba and Portharcourt simply for having public demonstrations, without the federal government ordering a judicial enquiry. Instead, after I called for one, and Amnesty international provided evidence that 150 of them were killed, the chief of Army staff set up an enquirey composed of of serving and retired Army officers, thus abandoning the rules of natural justice which prescribes that you cannot be a judge in your own court. Igbos in Nigeria feel the treatment of IPOB as unfair, discriminatory and overhanded. They see the move as an attempt to encourage the profiling of Igbos in the international security arena We know of other self determination groups in Nigeria that are armed and have destroyed government and private sector installations that government preferes to negotiate with rather than labell them as terrorist organisations. Fulani Herdsmen, otherwise called Fulani militants, have ravaged farms in the middle belt, south south and south east of Nigeria killing several farmers in the process. In January 2016, they killed 500 farmers and their families in Agatu in Benue state. In Enugu state, they murdered morthan 100 farmers in Ukpabi Nimbo in April 2016. Photographs depicting then with automatic rifles trend the entire world media. Yet not one of them is facing criminal charges, nor is opration Python dance being conducted in the area they ravage and kill. And the federal government describes them as criminals and not a terrorist organisation notwithstanding their classification by the global terrorist index as the fourth deadliest terrorist group in the world" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uRHkW2ELem0 |
That term "The unity of Nigeria is non negotiable" is what dictstors use. Every union is negotiable, if it isnt, then one party will end up holding another hostage.............and the resultant effect will not be good |
Intrepid01:Brigadier Ogundipe is chased out of Lagos Yoruba land and out his rightful place as the next head of state after Ironsi by Northerners. Yorubas said "carry on our Northern Lords" Lt Col Fajuyi, Governor of the Western Region, is murdered in Yoruba land by Northerners. Yorubas shout the "the North are our lords" These two examples are enough for any ethnic group to rise up and fight for their sovereignty. But no, "we have brain and brawns and cant stand up for ourselves" Laughble. We need people who standup to the North here in the south of Nigeria, not people who are still making excuses for having no backbone |
Throwback:While you are writting this stupid nonsense, it pays to note the rule of law. Kanu may have said things some people may not like but the law gives him the freedom of speech. In the case where his freedom of speech is deemed to have breached the law, the law says that he should be investigated, if found wanting, charged to court. Kanu has never asked anyone to worshipp him or kiss his feet and if prople decide to that, it is of their own free will. Kanu asked for a referendum which is a democratic thing. He didnt say anything about carving out an area and seceding, he called for referendum. Dome might argue that referendum is not in the constitution and that Kanu should go through the national assembly however, this is one legal route and not the only legal route. Kanu can also use civil disobedience, peaceful protest, election boycott etc which are all legal, to pressurise the national assembly to consider giving the east a referendum. The law does not lermit the Nigerian Army to raid peaceful eclaves, shoot up the place and take over the constitutional role of the police. That is illegal. The illegality here is the one done by the government and not Kanu. It was only after this illegal act that the government went court to get an order to proscribe IPOB Laughable |
Intrepid01:This is the thinking of someone who has already imbibed themselves with the spirit of cowardice. Oeople should be proud to fight for their land and if need be, die for it. In the second world war, only two finnish ski divisions held the might if the Russian Army. Finland did says "oh the Russians are greater than us so let us surrender" It is true to assess if a people are ready for war but not at the expense of surrendering without a fight like cowards. There were just about 2 or 3 thousand armed Northerners in the Western Region surrounded by millions of Yorubas but Yorubas could do nothing. They didnt even put up any resistance. When people cannot fight to defend their own land, it is most shameful |
There is nothing brave about the Nigerian Army invading an area and shooting unarmed people. The only cowards here are the Nigerian Army who cannot do anything against Boko Haram, Niger Delta Avengers or even Herdsmen. But as soon as the hear that Kanu and IPOB are not armed, they suddenly remember that guns are meant for shooting. Kanu is not a coward, he returned to Nigeria and stood up for his beliefs. But I dont expect him to present himself to be killed like a Chicken just because it is the Nigerian Army either. |
One thing was certain, the North could not hace fought a combined West and Eastern Region. Who knows what would have happend if Awolowo had made a clarion call to the Yoruba nation to sieze the Governmwnt of Gowon in Lagos as well as Ibadan and Abeokuta baraks? It may have been bloody but it was achievable. That woukd have left just Kaduna and Kano military installations. For some reason, the North has always been able to use the west to undermine the rest of Southern Nigeria. |
k9ine:Thats why I admire Fayose. If it had been Fayose, even if he doesnt support IPOB or Biafra, he will still speakout against government or military impunity. What we have are just governors who dont want to jeopardise their monthly allocation from the givernment. Nnamdi Kanu was right about one thing, Ndigbo should turn their backs against the political elite and boycott future elections because no matter who gets in there, they wont care about the people. |
OyinloyeBA:How did he give them reasons to be together? Only a fool is still talking about restructuring when the North are totally against it. What will you do when North say no to restrcturing? Will you tow the line of Kanu and ask for secession or go back to singing ONE NIGERIA? Of course we all know you will go back to ONE NIGERIA because you dont have the backbone to be a radical like Kanu. I laugh at you people who talk about restructuring, come and get it from the North lets see |
OyinloyeBA:Kanu didnt burn any bridges, there were no bridges to burn anyway. Lets face facts. Its not like Nigeria is this incredible country were we love each other and are united for the purpose of nation building. Far from it. Nigeria is just a jumble of ethnic nationalities that were brought together to do the bidding of colonialists, and now the North. Nigeria has no foundation and no bases. Kanu or no Kanu, Nigeria is no nation. |
The Nigerian army has however refuted the claims it invaded Kanu’s home nor killed anybody.Videos are on you tube. Bunch of liers |
BLSYNG:Of course, what did you expect a clueless, cattle rearing ex military man to do? In a way, Im glad he blew everything up because Igbos now know without a shadow of a doubt that their place is not in Nigeria. |
The Governors in Igbo labd collectively are a joke. One thing that opration Python dance showed was that they do not have leaders who stand up for them. At the end of the day, the Governors are just political slaves of Abuja, and by extension, the North. One thing is clear, Nnamdi Kanu was right that participating in the polical process of Nigeria is a waste of time |
kn23h:This is a Biafran matter not a Nigerian matter, nobody cares what Nigerians think. But good of Nwodo to remember those we lost. I bet he must be thinking about the comrades he lost in the battle front. |
Not many people know that John Nnia Nwodo was himself a Biafran soldier |
samkay3g:Just fighting for freedom means so much even if Ojukwu did not succeed People like Awolowo never got to the stage of fighting for sovereignty and chose the easy cowardly way of being a Northern slave |
T9ksy:This is enough to tell you that we all different in.oir way of reasoning. Igbos will always think of Awolowo as catankerous coward and Ojukwu as a hero While a Yoruba will tbink Awolowo a hero and Ojukwu a coward. This is why ONE NIGERIA is a waste of time, our outlook on life will never be the same and we are wasting our time together |
samkay3g:And we are proud to have been led by Ojukwu and to have died in the millions in tge quest for freedom. Dont worry, I dont expect you to understand that sort of mentality. Cowards like Awolowo didnt understand that either when is was musch easier to a Hausa-Fulani slave. |
samkay3g:At least Ojukwu fought for 3 years. Could Awolowo even fight, of course not. Awolowo was the embodiment of cowardice. Stop calling Kanu. Soldiers going to attack an unarmed man is not bravery |
He may not be perfect but he is the best Ohaneze president we have had in a long long time. |
Only a fool still thinks that Igbo presidency will address agitations when despite OBJ and GEJ presidency, there is still agitations for restructuring and secession in those zones Igbos have outgrown the worthless office of president of Nigeria that has done nothing but produce one clueless idiot or the other since 1966 till date We Igbos need our own independent country from this disasterous colonial arrangement of 1914 called Nigeria |
Awolowo, a coward of a man who led his people into Hausa-Fulani slavery because he had no spine to fight for his sovereignty |
Nice one my brothers. The Biafran dream is beyond proscription |
alcuin:When you want your freedom, you have to be a mad man because nobody will give you that freedom easily. In Africa, there is no 'gentleman' in freedom fighting |
As an Igbo man, Fayose is not a 'Northern a$$licker' which makes him electable in my view If there is any Yoruba I would rather vote for in Nigeria, it would be Fayose. We dont need another "The North Are My Masters" type in Aso Rock |
tochukwuifediba:Thsts why you should strive to have your own country where you will always be a first class citizen Rather than be fighting with Hausa and Yoriba about your level of citizenry in Nigeria |
Bolustical:Stop talking nonsense. You should be more worried about why you have a democracy where the Army is still invading homes in peaceful area and killing people. You should more worried about why there are agitations everywhere and why Nigeria is more divided now than ever before You think the problem here is Kanu? Far from it. This is bigger than Kanu. Wether Kanu is around or not, the agitation will continue and the right of self determination is a universal right. Nigerias democracy is a joke |
