TonyeBarcanista:Nigerians like your self still reason like people who travelled in a time machine from the stoneage to present times. What sort of backward reasoning is this? This is how you people expect to one be a great country? I laugh in French. The security personel who went looking for Tompolo should not have touched Tompolos father, he is not the one they came for. They may have had the right to question him, but as long as Tompolos father was not on the arrest warrant, they have no business with the man. How can a civilised country still be torturing a man in his 80's? Or anyone for that matter? Does the contitution allow torture? Where is Tompolos fathers rights to be treated humanely? A security force paid by the Taxpayers will invade a community, kill and brutalise people people and everone will be clapping while the constitution is being desecrated. I weep for Nigerians, you guys still have a long long way to go. |
mrkayusfit:Chapter 4 of the Nigerian contitution allows us all freedom of "speech and expression". Schedule 38 of that same Chapter allows everyone "freedom of thought and conscience". The law allows anyone not only to freely talk about Biafra, but also to believe in it. So anytime you actually advocate that pro Biafrans should be banned or arrested, not only are you breaking the law, you are also contravening the constitution which leaves you liable to be sued for denying a person certain rights the constitution allows him or her to enjoy. If you don't know what treason is, go and find a dictionary. |
Darachi:Because they know that everywhere from Ilorin to Lagos will become Almjiri grazing ground if Igbos leave. |
President99:Divine Amalgamation? You mean when Lord Lugard came to west Africa to beat up and kill your ancestors, steal their lands and resources, joined everyone together and then basterdised with them with the name of a stupid River? Your right, this wonderful divination! All that remains is for you to get a tatoo of "Lord Lugard My Master" on your forehead for the divination to be complete. |
Religion is one of the major reasons why the unity of Nigeria is already doomed. |
One good thing about the coming of APC is that all the "Sai Baba Zombies" are suffering along with everyone. |
President99:That was in Biafra, which was not a part of Nigeria at the time. |
MrAldrick:What are you talking about? Is Niger Delta a tribe? |
bbmpin:As an Igbo man, I'm actually glad that in much of the history of Nigeria,we Igbos did not rule. History will award a Gold medal to the rest of you who have ruled for being the ones who by and large, destroyed Nigeria. |
OP, you got everything wrong. You cannot use America as an example because America was not created with a faulty foundation like Nigeria 1) The leaders and representatives of the 13 colonies came together on the 4th of July 1776 and signed 'The American Declaration of Independence ' where they agreed to be a nation. When and where did the ethnic nationalities that were forced into the British contraption called Nigeria come together to agree to be one nation? 2) As big and rich as America is, the state of Hawaii are agitating for their own separate nation and America has formally recognised their right to be independent and talks are scheduled to begin soon. This America, the greatest nation in the world, yet some of them want their independence. Sometimes, it's not about if a country is doing well or not. Sometimes it's about if a section of a country simply want their freedom. Despite Britain being the 5th richest nation in the world, it did not stop Scotland wanting to go. As long as Nigeria intends to maintain the colonial legacy of "unity by force", then it is a country heading nowhere because those who don't love Nigeria so much will continually sabotage it. That is why those who love Nigeria should continue with the 'one Nigeria' dream while those who are being stifled should be allowed to go. But forcing everyone to be together and expecting good things to come out of a divided house is an excercise in futility. |
Victorvexz:Just like how Governments around the world treat secessionists? You mean the same way Britain treated Scotland by granting them a referendum in 2014? The same Britain that bastardised you and your ancestors by naming them after a common River? Don't generalise on the secessionist issue just because you are a backward African, not everyone sees any sense in killing each other to be together. The reason why Kanu will always be just in his quest is that unity is not something that can be forced on a people, it is something that can be requested. And it can be denied. Freedom isn't cheap, it is purchased in blood. The good thing about Kanu and his people is that it is not them that are fighting to be with anybody, it is everybody that is fighting be with them. All to uphold the "River naming ceremony" Lord Lugard conducted in 1914. |
Progressive01:He will remain there, but the agitation will never stop. This has gone far beyond Kanu. |
Ngige is a disgrace to Igbos! What is economic restructuring? Is it Buhari's job to restructure the economy? Bring back the region and they will do their own economic restructuring. |
Progressive01:Why won't he want to get out of jail when the courts granted him freedom on 3 separate occassions? Is it because Nigeria isn't a civilised country? Kanu is willing to die for his beliefs, he didn't come to die because Nigeria can't abide by its own laws. |
Victorvexz:Of course, nobody ever said freedom is easy to achieve. |
Victorvexz:So you don't know? You don't even know that Mandela was a Lawyer who challenged his own detention in court |
kettykin:Of course! It was a British terrorist called Lugard who came to West Africa to kill people in other to create Nigeria. Ever since then, one terrorist or the other starting with Gowon have used the same method to keep Nigeria together. The latest terrorist recruit is Orkah |
Progressive01:I said he is willing to die for what he believes in, I never said he is willing to die for a lawless Nigeria where court orders are not obeyed. If Kanu feels that there is a miscarriage of justice, he is entitled to write to any relevant authority. |
My God, the kind of comedy coming out of DSS office (Daura shoe shiners) is indeed pathetic. Is this best they can come up with? If this statement is actually from Orkah, someone should go and tell him that Biafra is not about staying in Nigeria, it is about getting out of it. He can lead any organisation he wants, even association of borehole diggers. I laugh well when I hear useless news like this |
Aufbauh:Don't pity Kanu, he does not need your pity. The man is willing to die for what he believes in. If they ask you to come and die for Nigeria you will probably run away |
Really funny story. Even Okah didn't know he had been nominated TRIPOB leader lol. These jokers make good comedy lol Maybe this TRIPOB invention might even be a good thing. Orkah still has a good following with his native Ijaws, he might bring many of them on board. |
stebell:If you can't even protest in the streets, then what hope do you have of ever getting a Niger Delta Republic? You have to do something to show that you are serious. Taking the example of Biafra. Millions came out in protest and not just in Nigeria but many countries around the world. There are up to four organisations such as IPOB, MASSOB,BZF etc. there are protests in front of the White house, The UN building and even Downing Street. BBC, Aljazeera, CNN and others routinely carry news on Biafra. The world is aware of Biafra and the call for referendum is growing louder, putting pressure on the Government. What have you people done to show anyone that you want Niger Delta Republic? You guys don't have any organisation, no mobilisation, you can't even organise one street protest and put it on youtube. Niger Delta Republic will fall into your lap from the sky. You guys should accept that you are part of Nigeria forever and stop decieving anyone with this Niger Delta Republic nobody is agitating for |
Many people don't know that a referendum is one of the greatest democratic instruments there is in the world. It is even more democratic than elections because in elections, people get to choose their leaders, but in a referendum, people get to choose their fate. That Adamawa is a part of Nigeria today is because of a referendum held in the 60's. If Britain that created Nigeria can hold two referendums in two years, then who is anyone to say that a referendum cannot be held in any part of Nigeria? |
Biafman:Exactly Bro! |
At 18, the boy becomes the youngest king in Igbo land after his father, the Obi of Ubulu-Uku was murdered by Fulani herdsmen. |
Lai Mohammed's reply to the US congressman is weak. He didn't even touch on any of the US congressmans concern. 1) Lopsided appointments. Lai mohammed is dwelling on the contitutional appointments that mandates Buhari to appoint one minister from each state but neglected the non contitutional appointments that Buhari tilted heavily in favour of his kinsmen. 2) Lai Mohammed didn't say anything about the extrer-judicial murders sanctioned by this Government and raised by the U.S. congressman. IPOB shootings, Shia massacres and Niger-Delta murders. 3) Lai Mohammed said nothing about the highhandedness of the Nigerian security agencies, their participation in torture and killings, nor could he give any assurances that US supplied weapons won't be turned on the citizenry. In essence, Lai Mohammed said nothing of any interest |
Abagworo:Come on man. You don't expect anyone to believe that. We didn't find our selves as brothers. We were forced together by the superior guns and firepower of Lord Lugard, not by mutual consent. Every Union must be by consent and not by enforcement. Nigeria is still kept together by the same way Lugard created it, by the barrel of the Gun. That is why is cannot work, it is not derived by free will. Yes I agree we should work together, but it is not a must that we must all be in the same country to do so. The Euro-zone is made up of over 20 independent countries, all using a common currency and a single market. They did not have to give up their individual sovereignty for economic co-operation. There is nothing that binds the Igbo/Yoruba/Hausa man together besides the illegal creation of Lugard. |
Abagworo:How exactly are we Igbos brothers with Hausas and Yorubas? Did the Igbos as a tribe even know who Hausas and Yorubas were 150 years ago? What has changed since then to make us 'brothers'? Oh yeah!................... Lord Lugard came to tell all of us that we are brothers! How could I forget! It is the white man who tells Igbos who their brothers are! You and Rochas are really smart. First it was allegiance to the British crown, now it is allegiance to the Hausa/Fulani oligarchy. Where is allegiance to the Igbo nation? Today, people are talking about SE and SS as if these terms mean anything yet 'SE' and 'SS' didn't even exist 25 years ago. You and Rochas have no sense of self determination outside the 'one Nigeria' legacy of Lugard yet both of you congratulate your selves for adopting this 'prison yard' mentality as the best. |
jpphilips:Tell me about America that seceded from Britain on the 4th of July 1776. |
Princesaha:Restructuring ain't ever happening. The North don't want it. Restructuring favour the South but not the North. |
MrAboki:The man has been a multi-millionare since the 70's |
jpphilips:It worked for Czechoslovakia, now Czech Republic and Republic of Slovakia are now doing well within the European union. |
