PoliticsRe: Decree 8 And The Proof Of Ojukwu's Obstinacy In Pushing For The Biafran War by attackgat: 7:50am On Aug 24, 2016
President99:
I meant his wives or children. the way many innocent-civilian igbos lost their lives due to starvation and consequence of ill prepared secessionism approach in a third world. why did he run leaving biafra's civilians at the mercy of fierce nigerian troop? everybody could have run , if they had got the same opportuonity like ojukwu. The truth is always bitter but Ojukwu had two options in his mind, either he succeed or exile! what were the options he got for the innocent people?
Funnily enough, you still don't realise that it was Nigeria that came down to the East ,where people were enjoying their new found freedom, to kill over 3 million. The brain of the average Nigerian works in mysterious ways. Nigeria came and killed millions, you blame it on Ojukwu who was minding his own business in the East. Wonders shall never end.
PoliticsRe: Decree 8 And The Proof Of Ojukwu's Obstinacy In Pushing For The Biafran War by attackgat: 11:15pm On Aug 23, 2016
The hypocrisy is just too much. The Northerners claim that they killed Ironsi because he centralised Government and because he didn't purnish Nzeogwu and co within 6 months.

But when Ojukwu now decentralised Government at Aburi, they were not happy. They later 're-centralised' it under Gowon even more than Ironsi did. Everyone who followed Nzeogwu to conduct the first coup who were still alive at the end of the war were purnished with jail time. But all those involved in the counter-coup that even killed more people were all honoured and promoted. Some of them like Murtala, IBB, Abacha and Buhari went on to become heads of state. Even TY Danjuma who killed Ironsi is still relevant today.

PoliticsRe: Is Jonathan Really A Democrat? by attackgat: 10:42pm On Aug 23, 2016
I cringe each time I read people saying Jonathan is a gentleman, a true Democrat blah blah.

seriously is he?

This guy tried all the anti-democratic gigs in the book. The only thing that worked against him is the will of the people. nothing can defeat that.

Will a true Democrat run his campaign based on personal jabs , ethnic and religious beefing? we were all told that buhari will turn Nigeria to Islam....

will a true democrat carry out the kind of military intimidation that we witnessed in places like IMO, rivers?

How can you tell me that he is a true Democrats when he sent his aide to disturb a live Democratic process? If not for jegas maturity, the collation would have been canceled.

remember the opposition to card reader? massive bribing, voter intimidation,

remember the massive rigging in rivers and Delta state. I served as an APO in Delta state. not up to 40% of voters were accredited. How the he'll did they come up with the over 70% number? even Kano couldn't boast of that.

Remember the PDP consensus candidacy? remember ekiti legislators. remember rivers legislators.

Jonathan would go down in history as one of the most corrupt and undemocratic Nigerian president ever.

Please stop feeding us lies Co's we Don't forget easily.

shachris
Let me put it this way. GEJ is one of only two incumbent presidents in the history of Africa who lost elections and peacefuly handed over to his opponent. The only other person who did this was Kenneth Kaunda of Zambia. If that doesn't make GEJ a democrat, I don't know what will. Had GEJ wanted to stay in power, he could have easily done that by appointing an INEC chairman who would rig elections. Even after losing elections, he could have challenged the outcome in court.
PoliticsRe: The Igbo As A Blessing To Nigeria by attackgat: 7:08pm On Aug 23, 2016
I don't know us if Igbos are a blessing to Nigeria or not but I know that Nigeria has been a curse to Igbos. Igbos have suffered for being roped into Lord Lugards phantom country, and we lost millions of souls for this.

In the name of this Nigeria, someone will tell the Igbos to be proud of being named after a stupid River by the White man.

In the name of Nigeria, someone will tell me as an Igbo man that Abuja is more of my fatherland than Enugu or Owerri.

In the name of Nigeria, someone will tell an over 45 million strong Igbo nation that they have no right to decide their destiny and fate because it has already been decided by Lord Lugard almighty.

In the name of Nigeria, a Hausa or Yoruba man will claim to be 'one' with Igbos even though the Igbos didn't even know about the existence of these two tribes 150 years ago.

Well, we look to the future with optimism because history has taught us all that no charade, deciet or falsehood lasts forever. Someday, the Igbo nation will exhale again.

The elections are over and the battle of who made the right choice with their votes continue. While some blame the past administration for the current situation, others blame the current government.

However, besides inflation and unemployment growing at a high rate, I am more worried about our freedom.

A pastors wife was killed up north and it was condemned and nothing happened.

Another lady evangelist was killed nothing happened.

A group of Muslim youths destroyed a church because they worshiped on Friday, I don't recall any of them charged to court yet.

A young man was beaten to pulp and 8 people killed for blasphemy, I don't recall any of the perpetrators charged to court.

Herdsmen have killed hundreds if not thousands and I have not seen any of them in court.

Someone then names a dog buhari, both the police and judiciary begin to respond rapidly.

Bloggers arrested and detained.

This is no longer about political party affiliation, if we continue to tolerate this,it will grow to something we can't control as a nation.

Bokoharam did not fall from the sky, the northerners tolerated it and it has outgrown them.

If we don't put our political differences aside and put an end to this madness, it will soon become uncontrollable.
Are you still new to Nigerian history? The killings up North have been a long running thing. The Kano massacre of 1945, the Jos riots of 1953 and the genocide of 1966 were 50,000 were slaughtered.

There is a good reason why Ojukwu fought to get his people out of Nigeria and away from these people, he didn't do it for the fun of it.

The killings up North will never stop, it will only get worse, it is part of pledging allegiance to 'One Nigeria'.

CONFAMA:
You didn't answer my simple question. Why was there no Igbo casualty?

Why did Igbos seize power after the coup? Why were the coup plotters not adequately dealt with despite having ample time to do such and confessions from the perpetrators? Was there any need for one yeye panel to do that? Why was the regional zones centralized immediately the greedy Igbo man got a whif of power?

Spare me all the trash you wrote up there?
There was an Igbo casualty. Lt Colonel Unegbe was a senior Igbo military officer who was killed.

As history tells us, the Parliament invited Ironsi to take over as the most Senior Officer of the time.

It can take over six months to bring coup perpetrators to book, even over a year. When Oladipo Diya was accused of Coup plotting, it took over 6 months to try him and others accused such as Adisa. The fact that Ironsi was killed within six months of coming to power only shows that those who killed him had ulterior motives .

Not true.

Our similarities far outweigh our tiny differences by a wide margin.

First, we all suffer when things are bad, and enjoy when things are good.
We all look to the future with the same hopes, aspirations and fears.

We all want affordable, quantity education for our children.
We all want affordable basic amenities, safety, law and order and justice for ourselves, our families, our friends and relatives.

We all go to the same schools, learn the same things, shop at the same markets, cheer together in times of joy, cry together in times of tragedy.

It is politics and politicians that always attempt, albeit successfully, in putting wedges between the different ethnic nationalities of Nigeria.

Between my Yoruba, Edo, Fulani and Ibibio close friends, I see no differences in outlook, dreams and aspirations except when it comes to national politics.
This is when old stereotypes and prejudices creep out of the woodworks.

Forget about all these online bickerings. In real life, Nigerians of every ethnic group get along very well.

In politics, it's a different matter.

Take, for example Mohammadu Buhari. After winning the most peaceful and groundbreaking election in Nigerian history, the pompous demagogue, missing a golden moment of UNITY and goodwill, did the least common sense thing a leader ever could do, by boldly and publicly telling the people who didn't vote for him in a DEMOCRATIC election, not to expect to be treated in the same way as those that voted for him. huh

From that moment, Nigeria became even more divided.

You see? An elected poly-trick-cian deliberately putting a wedge between the citizenry. shocked
Shame on him.
Why do you think you don't have good roads? Why do you think you have no light? Why do you think Nigeria is the mess that it is? It is because nobody believes in the Nigerian project. When people get into power, they take their own share of the National cake and run away. Nigeria does not work as a nation because everyone is interested in their own sectional interest. Not every marriage will work, not every partnership will work and not every Union will work. Nigeria has not worked since the British left in 1960 to this day. To this day, the Hausa/Yoruba/Igbo man don't see themselves as brothers and they routinely kill themselves to emphasise this. Praying for a union that has not worked in more than 50 years to work now is like praying for snow to fall in the Sahara Desert, it might happen but common sense tells me not to hold my breath.

So why do the Easterners now want government to be decentralised? What was the structure before the centralization and why did Ironsi decide to centralize?

Answer these questions honestly and you will understand why Easterners/Southerners call for restructuring cannot be taken seriously.
That's why I told you to go and learn Nigerian history well before you start discussing politics of yesteryears.

Never say Ironsi destroyed the regions, he did not. Gowon did that.

As for decentralisation, it was already done in Aburi. It was signed and sealed.

Then Gowon and his fellow Norherners were not happy with it and abolished the regions, created States and centralised Government far more than Ironsi did.

Regionalism is Nigeria's problem... Unitary structure with power at the centre is better...

Name....Aguiyi Ironsi

Region/Tribe...Easterner

An Ibo man/Easterner/Southerner destroyed the same regional structure when he was in power that Easterners are now begging for.

So you now want to restructure back to regionalism as you've been kicked out from the centre and are no longer near the corridors of power?

I ask; Restructure to fit whom? Jokers.
Go an do your history research well. It was not Ironsi who abolished regions, it was Gowon. Ironsi centralised Government but he did not tamper with regions. If Gowon had left the four regions the way he met it, Nigeria would have reverted back to true federalism whenever civilians came back to power. By abolishing the regions and creating states, Gowon made it much harder for true federalism to return.
