https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pbRJA0HL690 The Volkswagen Golf is a small family car produced by the Germans since 1974. This is one car we used to love in Nigeria back in the days. But something went wrong. However, the car still continues to set records in the international market as it is currently on its seventh generation. The Golf is on of the most popular car models in the world and it's a pioneer of the hatchback body style as it arrived 2 years after the original Honda Civic hatchback. The 1954 Jaguar D-Type was the first serious use of monocoque construction in motorsport. A beautiful evolution on its predecessor, it was even more aerodynamic – thanks to designer Malcolm Sayer. During testing at Le Mans in spring 1954, the D-type managed to beat the lap record by five seconds. Hopes were high when it came to that year’s race – and it finished in second place, despite experimental fuel filters causing two out of three of the D-types to retire. In 1955, it finally claimed victory. With so much history, this D-Type is going up in an Arizona auction as it is expected to sell for more than $12 million. If you think this expected price is much, you may need to know that a similar one was sold for over N7.3 billion ($20 million) last year. Would you get yourself one if you had the money? Or you'd buy something else instead?. https://autojosh.com/buy-1954-jaguar-d-type-le-mans-racer-n4-4-billion-photos/ Lalasticlala Mynd44 Ishilove Marpol Semid4lyfe Obinoscopy Seun

Today we'd be discussing how to check the oil level on Audi vehicles that do not have dipsticks. This new system is found in most Audi vehicles especially those made from 2012 upwards. The oil level in this system is measured using an oil level sensor and it can be displayed on the Audi MMI. MMI is short for "Multimedia Interface". To view the oil level, simply press the car button on the centre console and use the rotary dial to go to the oil level section. The oil level can also be displayed on the digital dash panel insert of the dashboard. For this to be viewed, a number of conditions must be met. First, the bonnet must be opened, the engine off, the driver door opened and the ignition on, then the oil level is displayed. Also, the engine/oil temperature must be above 40 deg Celsius "meaning you must have warmed the engine". It is worthy of note that except the oil level goes below the minimum level, Audi recommends it isn't necessary to top up the oil. A video showing how this system works has been included below. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=COX7Yxhr4ks https://autojosh.com/how-to-check-audi-oil-level/ Written by Olukoya Olusanya Lalasticlala Mynd44 Ishilove Marpol Semid4lyfe Obinoscopy Seun

2017 Tramontana, 5513 cc bi-turbo V12, 888 hp, 920 Nm, 7sp. sequential, RWD, 1268 kg. AD Tramontana is a small manufacturer of cars in limited numbers. Each vehicle comes with different and individually crafted interior which is developed by Vilner in Bulgaria. This particular show car at SEMA highlights the latest evolution of the partnership between Vilner and AD Tramontana. Only with the exception of some buttons and controllers inside, every single bit of the cockpit is thought out and manufactured by Vilner. The main accent -lizard textured “golden leather” inside as a continuation of the exterior scheme. That material has a slightly vintage presence and makes the seats look like some sporty modern alternatives to the ancient thrones. The rest is wrapped in fine black leather and Alcantara. The string is ‘golden’ too. Same style and materials can be found on both sides of the cockpit and even the floor mats are made from leather, Alcantara and that “golden leather” elements. See the instrument cluster visor? Black Alcantara with gold edging. The steering wheel of this particular Tramontana car is designed exclusively by Vilner – the shape, material types, the proportions and even the position of the ‘N’ button are all thought out by the Bulgarian atelier. There are also hidden buttons for the horn underneath the leather where the thumbs can go. And there is a central marker in gold as a final touch. “It’s a 5.5-litre Mercedes-Benz bi-turbo V12 with 888 hp in the middle. That engine can generate а genuine sense of superiority for the driver. And that kind of self-esteem should be defined by the design inside as well,” adds Vilner. https://autojosh.com/vilner-tramontana-unveiled-with-gold-accents-with-v12-888-hp-photos/ Lalasticlala Mynd44 Ishilove Marpol Semid4lyfe Obinoscopy Seun

Families will now be able to enjoy more space with their luxury utility vehicle thanks to the new three-row Lexus RX L models. The RX created the luxury crossover segment 20 years ago and has reigned supreme as the most popular luxury utility vehicle on the market. The 2018 RX 350L and RX 450hL models retain their stylish figures, but now offer the choice of six or seven-passenger capability. Once in dealerships late this year, the RX 350L will have a starting Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) of $47,670* (FWD) and $49,070* (AWD) which will translate to about N24milion and N25million respectively in Nigeria after shipping and clearing. Lexus Signature Design The 2018 RX L models offer the same award-winning safety, style, luxury and performance as the two-row versions. The LUV trend-setting combination of SUV versatility and luxury sedan-like comfort comes packaged in the brand’s dramatic mix of sharp creases and curves. The Lexus signature spindle grille, a focal point, is set off by an elegant chrome-plated surround and standard Bi-LED headlights. Available premium LED headlights use three unique L-shaped elements per side. Lexus Safety In the 2018 RX L models, the full-length side curtain airbags cover all three rows. The standard Lexus Safety System+ includes Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection, Lane Keep Assist, Intelligent High Beams and All-Speed Dynamic Radar Cruise Control. Blind Spot Monitor with Intuitive Parking Assist and Rear Cross-Traffic Braking are also available. Panoramic View Monitor is an optional feature. RX 350L: 290-Horsepower V6 The 2018 Lexus RX 350L offers plenty of power to go with its six- or seven- passenger cabin and added cargo capacity. The 3.5-liter V6 employs the advanced D-4S fuel injection system, which combines direct and port fuel injection systems. To maximize efficiency, Variable Valve Timing – Intelligent Wide (VVT-iW) is used on the intake camshaft, along with VVT-i on the exhaust camshaft, allowing the engine to switch between Otto and Atkinson combustion cycles. The result is 290 hp and 263 lb.-ft. of torque, with performance and efficiency optimized by an eight-speed automatic transmission. Use of regular-grade gasoline is a boon to customer value. Using Drive Mode Select, the RX 350L driver can exert more control by choosing from among three driving modes. Normal provides an ideal everyday balance of performance and energy conservation, Sport puts an edge on powertrain responsiveness and Eco mode operates the powertrain at its most efficient level RX 450hL Hybrid with AWD Luxury buyers seeking an eco-advanced family three-row vehicle will find the ideal travel mate in the 2018 Lexus RX 450hL. The Lexus Hybrid Drive system pairs the D4-S injection 3.5-liter V6 gasoline engine with two high-torque electric drive motor-generators, producing 308 combined system horsepower for strong acceleration and passing performance. The standard AWD system is unique. Instead of transfer gears and a driveshaft to the rear wheels used on the RX 350 AWD models, an independent rear-mounted electric motor drives the rear wheels when needed to help maintain optimal traction. In the RX 450hL, the Drive Mode Select system adds a fourth mode, EV, that enables the vehicle to drive under electric power at lower speeds for short distances. It’s an excellent way to navigate a large parking lot or garage, or to run a local errand. Multimedia Powerhouse From powerful audio to cutting-edge displays, the multimedia choices available for the 2018 Lexus RX L models cover all needs. The standard Display Audio system includes an eight-inch screen, HD Radio™, Scout GPS Link, Bluetooth® audio, voice recognition, an AUX mini jack, two USB ports and nine speakers. The driver will find frequently used switches placed close at hand for convenience. Middle-row USB ports enable passengers to use and charge their own multimedia devices. The Navigation Package upgrades to a 12-speaker premium audio system. Also included, the 12.3-inch high-resolution split-screen multimedia display offers a full-screen navigation map or can provide simultaneous access to audio or climate controls and various systems; as well as the mouse-like Remote Touch Interface. The 2018 RX L models offer audiophile-quality mobile sound with the available 835-watt, 15-speaker Mark Levinson Premium Surround System in conjunction with the navigation system. Advanced Clari-Fi™ compressed music restoration technology instills new life into digital music files. With the new RX 450hL Hybrid, the most powerful and most fuel-efficient RX model, owners will still reap the benefits of the two-row model, such as optional heated/ventilated front seats and Blind Spot Monitor (BSM) with Rear Cross Traffic Alert. Only smart cars will survive as roads are getting connected. They will have to rely heavily on their brainpower to function; Ford CEO Jim Hackett opined. Imagine a world where cars, roads and traffic lights will all be talking to each other. You certainly can't have a push to start jalopy in such a world. According to Autonews, Hackett is pioneering Ford’s move to connected, electric and autonomous cars. "Ford's future is not about giving up the car," said Hackett at the Michigan CEO Summit in Detroit. He then added that there are "no dumb cars in the future." "We have to evolve these things to be ever smarter," added Hackett, mentioning how cars in the future will be able to see things that humans can't. "For a while, we didn't see the computer as an integrated aspect. Now, think about it, my vehicle is a rolling computer." Hackett adds. https://autojosh.com/smart-cars/

Crossovers are winning the hearts of auto buyers as many of them now prefer the former to sedans. This new situation is threatening several automakers, like Audi, BMW, and Mercedes, since it almost renders their new sedans unmarketable. The earlier mentioned automakers are especially affected since they rely more on automobile leasing than any of the other mainstream automakers. The companies are on the verge of facing inventory problems at the expiration of the lease, culminating in the return of the affected automobiles. Last month, auto demand fell for sedans, like Lexus GS, Audi A4, and Mercedes S-Class, while it soared for automobiles, like Lexus GX, Mercedes GLE, and Audi Q5. Three years ago, only 42% sales were recorded for crossovers, compared to the 56% sales recorded this year. In Nigeria, our bad roads alone are enough for you to ditch the sedans for crossovers and SUVs. Do you prefer sedans to crossovers? The Bonhams Auction that took place in Los Angeles recently saw off the 1914 Peugeot L45 Grand Prix Two-Seater for $7.26 million (N2.7 Billion). The automobile participated in the 1916 Indianapolis 500 Mile Race, and it finished in the third position ahead of other automobiles in the race with Ralph Mulford at the wheel. This automobile, along with several others made by the French automaker, called the shot in motorsports all through the early 1900s. A similar car to the 1914 Peugeot L45 bore Jules Goux to victory at the Indianapolis endurance race in 1913. The initial engine in the L45 Grand Prix Two-Seater race car was a 3.0-liter engine but was later replaced with a 4.5-liter 4-cylinder engine bearing four valves per cylinder and dual overhead camshafts, able to generate up to 112 hp at 2,800 rpm. Furthermore, the ancient racecar features mechanical drum brakes at its four corners, as well as live front & rare axles and semi-elliptical leaf spring suspension. Would you buy it for N2.7Billion? Road safety largely depends on road users being able to understand and follow the road rules. We bring to you the Rules of Overtaking according to the Nigeria Highway Code. Don't be left behind, be informed. OVERTAKING RULES Do not overtake unless you are sure it is safe for you and other road users. Before you start to overtake, make sure that the road is clear ahead and behind. Look out properly. Use your mirrors and glance behind you to see the blind spots; you must signal before you start to move out. Be particularly careful at dusty and in misty environment or bad weather when it is more difficult to judge speed and distance. REMEMBER: the LOOK-SIGNAL-LOOK again and MOVE routine ("LSLM" .Ensure Clear View: On fast roads, vehicles may be coming up behind much more quickly than you think. Make sure that the lane you will be going into is clear for a good distance behind and in front of you. Cutting in Once you have started to overtake, move past the vehicle you are overtaking as quickly as possible. Leave it plenty of room. Then move back to the right side of the road as soon as you can, but without cutting in. Do not accelerate against the rear of the vehicle in front, or out to the left at the last moment. The vehicle in front of you may have cause to slow down abruptly. Always move out from a safe distance. On the right Overtake only on the left except: - When the driver in front has signaled that he intends to turn left and you can overtake him on the right. Watch out in case the driver in front abruptly changes his mind or has wrongly left his signal on. - When you want to turn to the right at a junction and have signaled to do so. - When traffic is moving slowly in queues and vehicles in the left lane are moving slower than you are. - In a one-way street as vehicles may pass on either side. On Being Overtaken: Do not accelerate when you are being overtaken. Slow down if necessary to help and let the overtaking vehicle pass. Parked Vehicles: On an ordinary two-lane road, give way to vehicles coming towards you before you overtake parked vehicles or other obstructions on your right side of the road. Sometimes, two vehicles are nearly double parked (an illegal act in itself), or other impediments such as road work, potholes, or mounds of garbage obstruct both sides of the road. Drivers approaching such obstacles are usually unable to determine which of them should give way to the other. The general rule is that the vehicle further from the stationary object should slow down or stop to allow the nearer vehicle to go first. Common sense however should compel both drivers to show adequate caution and consideration for each other. to avoid collision. Never compete for speed supremacy with other motorists; do not gamble with your life and life of others in traffic; it is sure to end in a crash. Do Not Overtake Do not overtake at or when coming to: - A pedestrian crossing, a bus station, a road junction, a corner or bend, a narrow bridge and where the road narrows. - A level crossing; the crest of a hill, when to do so would force another vehicle to swerve or brake suddenly. - If you would have to cross double solid white lines. - If the solid line of the center lines is nearer you. - When you see a 'NO OVERTAKING' sign https://autojosh.com/overtaking-rules-according-nigeria-highway-code/

We are in the festive season and very soon, there will be clusters of cars on the road traveling to various destinations. We made this post for all road users; whether you’re the driver, passenger or even pedestrian. There are lots of things you have to bear in mind so you’ll be on the safe side. Accidents are inevitable but can be reduced. You have to try as much as you can not to be a part of statistics. Sit back, relax and assimilate what we have for you in this post. Ensure you put them into practice. Before the points we have, it’s no new news that most of the Nigerian roads are death traps. Be very careful. Here are the safety tips for Highway users 1. Watch your speed: Speed doesn’t kill but overspeeding does, don’t get this twisted. Overspeeding is among the causes of accidents on our Nigerian road. This is as a result of the lawless driving habit we have. You are not in Autobahn, and as such, you have to be very cautious of the speed you ply. Don’t speed more than you can control. Overspeeding will certainly reduce the time you have to take decisions and act when something comes up on the road (something like a pothole). 2. Do not drink and drive: This is not the first time you’ll hear this; it is a very common phrase. Yet a lot of people take it for granted. Being drunk and driving will reduce your response to stimuli and hence, you will not be able to take proper decisions timely. 3. Do not tailgate: Always maintain a good following distance. Don’t follow another car bumper to bumper. Following another car too closely can come with dangerous consequences. This is more reason why you should maintain a safe following distance. 4. For slower driving, maintain right: The left hand side of every road is the fast/passing lane. If you’re not overtaking a slower moving car, maintain the right lane. 5. Be very careful when you overtake: Before you overtake, make sure it is safe for you and other road users. Ensure the road behind and in front of you is clear before you do this. Use your mirror to glance behind to see the blind spots. Overtaking in a dusty, foggy or and unclear environment is extremely dangerous. 6. Always be at alert: A lot of people get this wrong – Nigerian roads are not where you play the blame game. Be aware of what other drivers around you are doing, and expect the unexpected. Take it up as your responsibility to be safe and free from accidents no matter what it takes. We only have one life; no spare or duplicate. Good road manners begin with you. Always be at alert to know when other drivers put your life at risk with their ill driving manners. 7. Maximize your visibility: A good view of the road you’re driving on is very essential when it comes to your safety. Once you’re on that driver’s seat, ensure you can have a clear view of the road. Ensure the windshield is clear and your wiper is okay in case of rain. Ensure your headlamps are in good condition for night driving. A cracked windshield reduces your safety. 8. If kids are on-board, don’t allow them fight or climb around in your car. They should be buckled in their seats at all times. Too much noise can easily distract you from focus on the road. 9. In case your car breaks down, try as much as you can to get the car totally out of the road. If this is not possible, take caution by using the C-CAUTION to inform other road users beforehand. Don’t stay inside the vehicle; find a safer place to stay. 10. Ensure there is a good fire extinguisher in your car. It should be accessible and not out of reach in case of fire. 11. Make sure your lights such as signal lights, brake lights are in good working condition. Replace them if they are bad. Always use the signal light as you drive. Use them long before getting where you want to make the turn and not immediately when you want to make a turn. 12. Take enough rest before you drive. Don’t starve yourself the rest you need especially before you embark on a far journey. 13. For the pedestrians, always walk on the lane opposite to your direction of walk. This is to help you when you have to run enter bush…some drivers are out of their minds. 14. Don’t allow your phone or loud music to steal your sense. This is for both drivers and pedestrians. Reduce the sound of the stereo in your car so you can hear what’s going on around you. Same goes to the pedestrians. 15. Always drive with your seatbelts on. Feel free to add yours using the comments section. We would love to hear from you. https://autojosh.com/15-safety-tips-highway-users-drivers-passengers-pedestrians/ Lalasticlala Mynd44 Ishilove Marpol Semid4lyfe Obinoscopy Seun

Driving is fun for some people and they would rather drive themselves than get anyone else to do it for them. But there are some situations where you just have to leave the wheels for someone else. Let’s find out. 1.When You Are Approaching Delivery This is for women of course. It’s safer to stay away from driving when you are close to your delivery period. You never know when it will come. Be safe. 2.When You Are Feeling Sleepy Your destination is not as important as your life. Even though you feel its impossible to doze off while driving, it happens. Your eyes closed for as little as 3 seconds can cost you your life. 3.When You Are Depressed I know you might be going through a lot, but please stay away from the wheels and let someone else take control because in a state of depression you can easily lose concentration; which might cause a collision, leading to a state of more confusion (I just rapped )… SMILE. Everything will be fine with you. 4.When You Have Issues With Your Heart This includes other health issue like hypertension. Even if you think you can stay calm Danfo drivers might dish out madness unexpectedly. 5.When You Are Drunk Errm do I really need to tell you this? Don’t drink and drive, don’t drink before driving, don’t drink while driving, don’t drink on top driving, don’t drink on top steering …wheeew I had to add all those variations for some stubborn people that will be misinterpreting the semantics. Hope we learnt something, be safe. By Donald3d https://autojosh.com/5-conditions-never-drive/ Lalasticlala Mynd44 Ishilove Marpol Semid4lyfe Obinoscopy Seun

Apart from the fact that traveling by air is the safest means of transportation especially here in Nigeria, there are a number of us who don’t know about air travel. Let’s find out . 1.Busiest Airport The world’s busiest commercial airport is Hartsfield-Jackson Airport (ATL) in Atlanta, with 970,000 airplane movements a year. It’s followed by Chicago (ORD), London (LHR), Tokyo (HND) and Los Angeles (LAX). 2.”Smoke” Trails Those white lines that planes leave in the sky are simply trails of condensation, hence their industry name of “contrails.” Plane engines release water vapor as part of the combustion process. When that hot water vapor is pumped out of the exhaust and hits the cooler air of the upper atmosphere, it creates those puffy white lines in the sky. It’s basically the same reaction as when you see your breath when it’s cold outside. 3.Oxygen Masks The safety instructions on most flight include how to use the oxygen masks that are deployed when the plane experiences a sudden loss in cabin pressure. However, one thing that the flight attendants don’t tell you is that oxygen masks only have about 15-minutes worth of oxygen. That sounds like a frighteningly short amount of time, but in reality that should be more than sufficient. The pilot will respond to a loss of pressure situation descending to an altitude below 10,000 feet, where passengers can simply breathe normally, no extra oxygen required. That rapid descent usually takes way less than 15 minutes, meaning those oxygen masks have more than enough air to protect passengers. 4. The Safest Seat In A Plane The FAA says there is no safest seat on the plane, though a TIME study of plane accidents found that the middle seats in the back of the plane had the lowest fatality rate in a crash. Their research revealed that, during plane crashes, “the seats in the back third of the aircraft had a 32 percent fatality rate, compared with 39 percent in the middle third and 38 percent in the front third.” 5. Just In case Sango Strikes The Plane Planes are designed to be struck by lightning—and they regularly are hit. It’s estimated lightning strikes each aircraft once a year—or once per every 1,000 hours of flight time. Yet, lighting hasn’t brought down a plane since 1963 due to careful engineering that lets the electric charge run through the plane and out of it, typically without causing any damage to the plane. 6. Powerful Tyres The tires on an airplane are designed to withstand incredible weight loads (38 tons!) and can hit the ground at 170 miles per hour more than 500 times before ever needing to get a retread. Additionally, airplane tires are inflated to 200 psi, which is about six times the pressure used in a car tire. If an airplane does need new tires, ground crew simply jack up the plane like you would a car. 7. Too Many Airports One third of the world’s airports are in the USA. That’s pretty crazy considering the US only has about 4.4% of the world’s population. 8. In Case Village People Decide To Poison The Pilots Many airlines have a rule that each pilot flying the aircraft eats a different meal, in order to minimize the risk of all pilots on board being ill. This makes a lot of sense, and we’re very grateful for the smart people who thought of this. 9. Sue Anybody ! An investment bank which lost 75% of its employees in 9/11 sued American Airlines for negligence in allowing terrorists on board, and won $135 million. 10. America Again In the U.S. alone, there are as many as 7000 flights in the air at any one time. 11. Unlimited Ticket In 1987, a man bought a lifetime unlimited first class American Airlines ticket for $250,000. He flew over 10,000 flights costing the company $21,000,000. They terminated his ticket in 2008. So worth it. 12. Badoo Pilot On July 23, 1983, Air Canada’s Flight 143, with 69 people on board, ran out of fuel at an altitude of 41,000 ft. The pilot managed to glide the plane down safely as he was a very experienced glider pilot. 22,300 pounds of jet fuel had been put in instead of 22,300 kg. A Boeing 747 can glide for two miles for every 1,000 feet of altitude. 13. This Could Have Been The First 9/11 In 1994 a passenger was killed by a bomb on a Philippine Airlines flight. This led Philippine police to discover a plot to blow up 11 US airplanes in 48 hours over the Pacific. In another incident, which the Philippine authorities shared with the FBI in 1995, Philippine terrorists had planned to fly airplanes into the World Trade Center and Pentagon. The terrorists were eventually caught. 14. Super Safe Airline El Al airlines of Israel is considered one of the most secure airlines in the world. They equip their planes with anti-missile defense systems and there is an undercover air marshal on every international flight. 15. Super Flight Attendants Flight attendants are technically responsible for all the lives on board the airplane. Because of this they undergo special training including, first aid including the delivery of a baby, hand to hand combat for self defence and defence of the airplane, and survival skills for the rare case of crash landing in remote locations.
