1955 CHEVROLET TWO-TENOR 210

The Chevrolet Two-Ten or 210 was the midrange model of the Chevrolet car from 1953 to 1957. It took its name by shortening the production series number (2100) by one digit in order to capitalize on the 1950s trend toward numerical auto names. The numerical designation "210" was also sporadically used in company literature. It replaced the StylelineDeLuxe model available in previous years.

The '55 model year marks the introduction of a new chassis and the debut of the Chevrolet's legendary small block V8. The center door frame was beefed up for more safety. Brakes were 11-inch (280 mm) drums.

The Two-Ten was discontinued after the 1957 model year to be replaced by the Biscayne.

1960s KIT CAR (Morgan Motor Company)

The Morgan Motor Company is a family-owned British motor car manufacturer that was founded in 1910 by Henry Frederick Stanley Morgan (HFS).

Morgan is based in Malvern Link, an area of Malvern, Worcestershire, England and employs 177 people. Morgan has stated that they produce "in excess of 1,300" cars per year, all assembled by hand.

Originally producing 3-wheelers, the company produced its first 4-wheelers in 1936. This Kit Car, also known as a "component car", is a replica of a 1960s Morgan car.

1964 MORRIS MINOR

The Morris Minor is a British car that debuted at the Earls Court Motor Show, London, 20th September 1948. Designed under the leadership of Alec Issigonis, more than 1.3 million were manufactured between 1948 and 1972 in three series: the MM (1948), the Series II (1952) and finally the 1000 series (1956).

At the onset, the cars were only available as two door saloons and tourers (convertibles) but the car's range was expanded to include a four-door saloon in 1950. A wood-framed estate (the Traveller), was added from October 1953 and panel van and pick up truck variants from May 1953.

1977 MG MIDGET 1500

The MG Midget is a small two-seater sports car that was produced by MG from 1961 to 1979. The first version was essentially a slightly more expensive version of the MKII Austin-Healey Sprite.

To meet US Federal regulations, large black plastic bumpers (usually called rubber bumpers, despite not actually being rubber) were added to the front and rear and the ride height was increase. Increased output combined with taller gear rations resulted in faster acceleration (0-60 in 12 seconds compared to 13 for the 1275 cc version) and top speed of over 100 mph.

1990 BMW 3 SERIES M3 (E30)

The BMW E30 is an entry-level luxury car which was produced by BMW from 1982 to 1994. The initial models used the two-door sedan body style and in following years, the sedan, convertible, estate (touring) body styles were added.

The E30 3-Series was penned by Claus Luthe in 1978, the designer of the NSU Ro 80. It was produced as two and four-door saloons, two-door convertible, cabriolet by Baur and a five-door estate marketed as the "touring". The M3 convertible was only offered for the European market.

Now the day is over and it was an exciting moment at the GRILLS2GRILLS Nigeria Auto Show in Lagos.

2002 HUMMER H1

The Hummer H1 is a civilian off-road vehicle based on the M998 Humvee (used by the military), which was created by AM General. The vehicle was produced from 1992 through 2006, and was the first of what became the Hummer line.

Originally designed for military use, the four-wheel-drive-utility vehicle was released to the civilian market in 1992 due to popular demand.

The H1 boasts 16 inches (40 cm) of ground clearance as well as super-aggressive approach and departure angles. The Hummer H1 could clamber over a 22 inch (56 cm) high obstacle, handle a 60 percent grade and wade through up to 30 inches (76 cm) of water.

I remember spending 2 hours just to make a U-turn back in 2003. I also spent 1 hour in traffic around 11:00 pm at this same Abule-Egba junction in 2009.

As parents, we want to keep our children safe from harm. We owe them that responsibility.

So if you are driving within your estate or you are going on that road trip, remember to adhere to these 11 Nigerian laws to keep the kids safe:

1) Use the child seat. Make sure the child is correctly placed in the seat. This reduces the possibility of injury or death in the event of incident.

2) Children between age 0-12 months should not ride in the front of the vehicle. This is for their safety. When a child in that age group is carried, he/she should sit facing the rear using child restraint.

3) Children from the age of 1 to 7 should ride facing the front of the car in the child seat, strapped properly to the back seat.

4) Do not carry a child on your laps as he or she may be crushed between your body and the dashboard if there is a crash.

5) Do not allow children to play with the handle of the doors or locks. Use child lock where available.

6) Do not not allow children to ride in the luggage area of the hatchbacks, stations wagons or vans.

7) Do not leave the hatch back open when a child is riding in the back seat.

Do not allow children to stick any part of their body out of the vehicle.

9) It is against the law to transport children under the age of 16 at the back of a pickup van.

10) Children above 7 years of age should ride in a vehicle facing the front but securely restrained with safety belts.

11) Children under the age of 12 years should not sit in the front seat of a vehicle.

Whether you like it or not, Peugeot 301 has taken the lead in the Nigerian automobile market. It was crowned the best car of 2016.

This ride is assembled in Kaduna, Nigeria by PAN Nigeria Limited which we have always known from childhood.
The 301 got majority votes from the online contest as well as votes from Auto journalists. However, some are of the opinion that the award should have gone to cars that have become widely accepted in Nigeria in recent times. e.g Toyota Corolla, Hyundai Elantra etc..

The rate at which Toyota is churning out the Camry ehn! Me sef cannot explain. The Camry which was redesigned in 2012 and 2015 is currently being transformed again.

We just got a teaser of the all new 2018 Toyota Camry and it is expected to debut at the Detroit Autoshow in January 2017.

The LED taillight design is nice. You will also notice the strong character line that runs along the Camry’s profile and then blends seamlessly into the trunk opening. Can’t wait to see the real deal.

Toyota is not wasting time. Those South Korean car makers are putting them on their toes, I guess!

This 1990 Porsche 911 Carrera 4 Targa is worth N32million and a car collector in Nigeria is currently rebuilding it. You will definitely love this ride if you remember the yellow Porsche Targa in the hot pursuit in Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Commando movie.

This particular one is called type 964 and it is so desirable because it does not have radiators. It is air cooled. The car does not have engine sump, instead the oil runs around the car to keep it cool.

Just this afternoon, Rolls Royce decided to wet our appetite with a spyshot. It’s the all new Rolls Royce Cullinan SUV which will take on the Bentley Bentayga.

Many millionaires have been waiting for this project and it is fast becoming a reality. With general increase in demand for SUVs, the Cullinan will definitely be a fast sell.

Rollers usually don’t roll in less than 12 cylinders, so it is almost certain this SUV will be powered by a V-12, 6.6 litre engine. A plug-in-hybrid version will also be offered.

With an average price tag of $420,000, it should be on Nigerian roads before the end of 2018. The cost in Nigeria will be about N250 million if every other thing remains equal.

This observation started about 5 years ago when a friend won't understand my refusal to allow him jumpstart his car with my car battery. In a bid to pacify him, I paid a battery charger who did the job in a jiffy.

My car was a 2003 Toyota Camry and I had noticed the car vibrates and shivers once the battery terminals were removed and reconnected. The engine revs (RPM) fluctuates and the car jerks when in motion. Abi nah cold they catch you?? This could happen for about 30 minutes or more before the engine speed would normalize.

Afterwords, I began to notice other cars that have their own peculiar syndrome.

These are some of the issues I have seen in other cars when their batteries are disconnected:

1) Passenger's window will not roll down for 2 days before it starts to work again.
2) I have also seen check engine lights come up falsely.
3) AC stopped working until it was reprogrammed with a scan tool.
4) Faulty airbag code comes on.
5) Some cars may not even start at all.

Thank God my current car does not have any of these issues. However, I am sure some of us still get these annoying battery problems.

Kia Telluride – Is this the most beautiful Kia you’ve ever seen?

The Telluride is based on a modified Sorento chassis, and powered by a transversely-mounted 3.5-liter gasoline direct injected V6 producing 270 hp combined with an electric motor making 130 hp, for an overall output of 400 hp. Fuel consumption is claimed to be 30 miles per gallon (7.8 L/100 km).

The car’s suicide doors swing open 90 degrees in opposite directions, revealing a pillarless design. Some of the interior components are 3D printed, marking Kia’s first usage of 3D printing technology.

Kia intends to use this design in future premium SUV even if the Telluride is not produced.
