@JArus, First I believe that the sisters that I have are not gonna be what you want, None of them is from Ilorin or that axis. In fact some are non Nigerians. Now I will ask you this question Will you consider yourself as a handsome guy? Do other people say you are sooo handsome? Remember Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. I ask this since beauty is an essential ingredient for you because you know that the beautiful person may also be seeking the like. If your family has issues about Lagos sisters for instance, has it occured to you that the Northern (Fulani/Nupes) sisters' families may have issues with you being Ilorin Yoruba? I disagree with you that money cannot win love. I can authoritatively speak on my Northern Muslim sisters ( the beautiful ones). If a girl is beautiful, even if from a poor family, she will marry up (financially) not down. So in the case of ALY, I believe that you were outspent. I hope it doesn't sound harsh but that's my opinion. It is not easy to become non choosy overnight I am sure you'll find one or 2 useful points here. After marriage, what is your aim? A united family with many long happy years? A short lived marriage but to a beauty queen? A long lived marrigae plus misery because wife cannot stand hubby? Prayer therefore is gonna supercede. Know though that no amount of planning can compare to 1 full day of marriage. You will work through your challenges (yes, challenges come with the package) and continue to seek guidance from Allah. Sidenote: I have a half brother whose mother is from Ilorin. Herfamily took her back( My dad is Ibadan) and married her off to someone Ilorin). Green, blue, yellow, pink, or black sef, none of us know what he looks like. Hopefully, this tradition of tribe insistence will reduce in our ummah. |
@aloy Praise Allah Allahu akbar which means Allah is The Greatest. Please tell us the meaning of alleluia and why muslims would want to copy it. |

I was never informed. When? To whom? On what occasion? I must have stayed away longer than I thought. Answer o, lagosboy |
Salam to all So brother Jarus, I do have sisters that have potential (yes say it, I am an unrepentant matchmaker) but I will need a little more info from you. Insha Allah you will find a good muslimah; (please stay away from non muslims that promise to convert; simple reason is if all our brothers marry non muslims, what happens to our muslim sisters?) |
Thank you sister Zayhal. Mukina, I am so NOT kidding. "Ojo nlo o!" |
Maybe its time for the investors to pick another state to develop. This may actually help Nigeria in the long run. |
Mukina2, Seriously, I have a brother. He's a cool muslim, believe me. Anyway, I haven't seen ur pics but we are interested o. If u have someone already, please send me privy message, I will stop bugging you. But I cannot leave my sister to keep going like this before those yamayama non muslims try to cash in. Ok, we want plenty children sha o. ![]() |
Well the aim of my post was to get the Islamic perspective on this issue. What I propose is immaterial, Brother Lagosboy. What is important is (at least to me)/are Is this the pulse of a greater majority of our muslim sisters? (and brothers? )The issue at stake is what is Islamically sound not what ayinba1 thinks is acceptable. Thank you |
Ok, trying to understand your post. Do muslims worship Prophet Mohammed (SAW)? Secondly, the presence of Prophet Muhammed in the shahadah is a constant reminder to us that he is a messenger of ALLAH. There can never be a mistake of equating him to Allah, we, muslims, do not even pray through Prophet Mohammed (SAW). Thirdly, Are you sure that you practice Islam? Do not think that you can use the backdoor to come and confuse muslims here. Just saying. We welcome xtians too to air their views in a diplomatic manner and yes we had some people who claimed to be muslims but stated that interest is acceptable because the Quran is outdated. Bottom line is whatever you post, just be sure to make yourself clear and honest. |
My sisters here are talking maximum 3. |
Assalam alaykum warhmatullah wabarakatuhu, I am starting a campaign for my muslim sisters (and brothers) to have more chiildren. Recently, at our gathering in the mosque, all the sisters were involved in a debate about limiting the number of children to have, citing difficulty of raising kids in the US. Please find below a rough summary of the reasons they gave: 1. Muslims (in Nigeria) have too many kids and end up sending them to live with other people because they cannot cope with the upbringing, so you meet a lot of househelps that are Silifat, Muinat etc -****I disagreed with this asking if they are familiar with non muslims and how many househelps actually have non muslim names. I also recall the TV series' OMOODO, that guy did not have a muslim name. 2. In the US, there is a lot of stress related to upbringing and the fear is that you are working a lot of hours to provide for the children therefore, not enough time to care for them; OR you have time for them but no money to pay bills. - *****I countered that we set our priorities wrong because we run after things we could do without eg - extra gold jewellery, new lace for parties and then we claim that we do not have money. If we consider these children as part of our job, we would find a balance that would create ample time for proper upbringing. 3. Honestly, I was the lone ranger in this discussion, I looked up some information on the web about valid reasons to limit number of children and the 2 above were not included. Are we really becoming more like the non muslims because we forget or do not know what Islam says about childbearing or is this one issue where we think that we know better than ALlah's and Prophet Mohammed's (SAW) injunction? Thanks for your contribution. Please if you attend MSS, listen very well because that may be where you get the best info that will guide you for a while out in the real world. Salam |
vowiski:Becomerich is kinda occupied right now! His mandate was stolen so those maps may have to wait a looooonnng time. ![]() |
Becomerich is the man whom the cap fits! |
Why try to bring Fashola down? Taxes are not new to Nigeria. What is new now is enforcement i.e. people that did not pay previously are now paying AND you can actually see the work being done with the generated revenue. @Nchara, Really it is becoming way too obvious now that you have something in for Fashola/Lagos. Why don't you pick one of the Igbo states and tell us about the better progress the governor has made for his people. Just leave Lagos for Lagosians for a sec. The point is if a person does not like the taxes in Lagos, there are 49?? other states in Nigeria to try out. I live in the US, left Chicago for another state because of parking availability = parking tickets. Again, please start a thread lauding the achievements of any of the Eastern/Southeastern state governors. |
I think what is shameful and dreadful is the decision by Mr YarAdua's family to deny him a graceful death surrounded by his loved ones. It is better in the eyes of Hajiya Turai for her husband to die in a foreign land than in his own home. What kind os warped thinking is that? I am not saying that he is dying, but his silence over the past 3-4 weeks does not prove that he is getting better. The fact that you have money at your disposal does not mean that you should make ridiculous choices. I am very sure that his family know his prognosis. Why hide it? Every soul must taste death eventually. I hope the family does the honorable thing. It will be a big shame for the president to die in a foreign land sick bed especially when they were forewarned. Again, I don't know if he is dying but his silence speaks louder than Prof Dora. |
Again, It is a good piece, I don't think it necessarily implies that DM has become a champion for the masses or that he will not become another Segun Adeniyi; the message is clear though. We have talkers in Naija, we just lack doers. |
@mbulela It is a good article. Please post Segun Adeniyi's (if any; I don't know the guy) illuminating article on this matter. |
How many can read a post by Becomerich and keep a straight face? I try but this guy is an unfailing dose of laughter ![]() @Beaf wetin the guy do u nah? |
Becomerich Mapomejiology FTW! ![]() |
Hey Nackson Dawodu Pastor Deacon, You should type in ALL CAPS. Maybe then we'll "hear" you. @Other readers,, apologies for giving Dawodu Naksin the chance to hijack thread. |
Dawodu. Hear hear; you know just listen to yourself for one minute. Don't you just feel like puking? Okay just read thru selected areas of your post. davidylan:--Alright, what exactly did he mean by the purple portion? |
@Dawodu U don come o, u be economist abi as soon as you see SANUSI, ur antenna done sharpen! Make u no burst blood vessel o. I throw the question, right back at ya! jay bee:I laugh in naija; at my workplace, dem no understand. |
@OP Monarch ko, Emperor ni. If you say Sanusi is not doing his job, what alternative do you propose? SOludo? Or are we not all aware that Sanusi's first task is to fix the "about to burst" bubble that Soludo left? |
@dapsy I sent you a YIM. Please your reply would be appreciated. My interest is primarily because you said you will not leave Scandi for UK. Thanks in advance |
WHy pity? Na rope dem take tie am for the position? She has been a disappointment and really what did we expect? She has mouths to eed anyways, Her kids US school tuition etc etc, No pity am, she is doing what she was employed for. Making a bigger fool of Nigeria. |
@echo bee It really is simple, You can easily tip the police anonymously or tip nairaland anonymously. I believe that friendl will not risk his life and safety by going there alone. It is sad really especially knowing that the perpertrator could be any faceless NLder. A shame indeed! And yes, he could be reading it too but Mr Car thief, know though that there is no rest for you, And then, everyday for the thief, one day for the owner. Please return this average Nigerian's car. It is a 98 for Pete's sake. someone is trying to make ends meet here. We all know the country is tough but that is no excuse for crime. |
gestapo:What do you suggest? Sit down and do nothing and wait for this to happen to the next dealer? There has to be a way of safeguarding your belongings when the police will not do it for you. The dealers should not work alone. Let the caller know that you will take his picture for security reasons, do not work alone, have your partner take the pix while you hand him the keys. Get a digital camera with zoom. The investment is worth it (<$200) Please bring a better idea. The thief should be afraid of the houseowner, the reverse is the case in Nigeria. |
@focused, why don't you argue with facts? Let us make an assumption that you did not copy and paste; ok Now those things that you listed in your most recent post are untrue. Have you read the Quran? If your answer is no, how can you attribute all those untruths that you posted to the Quran? Unless of course, you are just a munafiqi, in which case, Allah , ![]() |
Eeeya! friendl, I sure hope that you will find your vehicle. But seriously, you have to provide more information such as the guy's contact number ( yes, I know he may have changed it by now) and his name ( even if he lied to you) as well as some description. I have to warn my husband because he posts cars on Nairaland too. If we are scared of the thief, things like this will continue. It is really sad that someone will misuse trust like this. To all dealers, please take a picture of your prospective buyers before letting them into the car. Pele o! |
Funniest thread ever ![]() I know Becomerich Mapomeji, not sure about Beaf. |
