Nigeria and right policy in the same sentence is fallacy. Everyone wants 24/7 power but unlike telcomms where you can change sim at wheel you cant choose your transmission or distribution company.

Well if i had $100 billion i'll buy PHCN but as PHCN is right now, no matter who runs it, Nigeria cant have 24/7 power for the next 5+ yrs. As a business man, i'll try to recoup some of my $100 Billion before i make further investments and that translates to increased tariff. The only difference btw this and phcn right now is the tariff you would pay would be correct.

Personally if i bought PHCN i would make sure folks in Lekki and VI have light first then the remaining would be given to who ever can pay my bill.

***will not wheel

The point is do not sell all of PHCN to one person/company.
is it not in this same Naija, which sector do we control the telecom is controlled by foreigners (glo is largely lebanese) so we should allow them to add value to our to us since our own brain is made for sabotaging our economy, someone said power sector not as easy as telecom, pls may I remind u that in this same country a minister said telephone is not for the poor but when policy changed foreigners came to our rescue. All it takes to change the power sector is just quality and right policy, forget the english generate, transmit and distribute all that will change when right thinking people get their. (as am typing this with my phone no light in my neighborhood, am @ a cyber cafe for another biz entirely the generator here is not working, now the poor boy is tired of it he has to call generator engineer to look @ it while I wait. Until you know the problem, you cant find the solution.
Those that want to sell to the brazillians should know that power supply wont be stable for at least another 5+ years.
1) we dont even generate enough power for the south west alone talkless of nigeria.
2)Anybody that drops $100 billion for PHCN will at least try to recoup 50% of that money before further investment is made.

Telecomms is childs play compared to power so people should stop using what happened in that  sector to judge.
If u have money u can bid for la telco license and start operations but in power there are so many variables (generation, transmission and distribution) and all this have to be inplace before anybody will invest that kind of money.

PHCN aint the problem with the power sector, Nigeria as a country is the problem. For you to have an efficient power sector, you need adequate planning and  we all know planning is an alien concept in nigeria.
Business › Re: Power Minister Sacks Olorunsogo Power Plant’s CEO by AZeD1(m): 10:05am On Aug 25, 2011
Nigerians really have short term memory,
To score cheap popularity in nigeria, just claim you can fix the power sector and you become a hero instantly(Bola ige, OBJ, Yar adua)
Fire all the PHCN workers tomorrow and bring Americans, Nigeria will still not have 24 hrs light.
PHCN workers are the least of the power sector problems. Durng the inspection, the minister said 40% of power generated is lost during transmission so while he was relocating the acting ceo why did he not say what he was going to do about the lost power??

Education › Re: Nigeria Graduate Vs Foreign Graduate by AZeD1(m): 5:30pm On Aug 18, 2011
Going through the comments in this post can actually give you an idea of who is better.

I'm of the  opinion  that foreign trained graduates are more analytical and logical in their reasoning than the Nigerian trained graduate hence they tend to be better at solving problems than the Nigerian trained graduate. There are exceptions to this as some Nigerian trained graduates would hold their own anywhere it the world.

My view of the bolded part above comes from interaction with both sides of the camp and the fact that issues raised in Nigeria are always questioned on the trible/religion basis rather than the positive/negative basis
Programming › Re: What Is The Future Of Nigeria's Software Industry? by AZeD1(m): 12:03am On Aug 17, 2011
The future of the software industry depends on we the programmers. I believe we need to forget about money(very hard thing to do when you have bills to pay) and try to innovate more.
Most software companies in Nigeria develop School management software or hospital/ hotel management software which in my opinion wont get the country anywhere.
We need a way to attract the big boys(microsoft, google, yahoo, oracle) to Nigeria as they are in india and the only way to do this is to develop things that would get their attention.

Shouldn't the man in the picture be coming out from the 'state house', perhaps in company of other compromised journalists?
Why is he alone, with a nondescript bag, heading into the 'state' instead of out of the place.

Secondly, does it mean that if I can 'manufacture' similar pictures with BB souvenirs,  handset, laptop, and hard currency, BB is doing worse?

This is just a lame attempt at calumny. A six year old can do a better job.

For this lame attempt, GEJ will surely garner more votes.

ezeagu:
You can't compare mono-ethnic (for the most part) England to Nigeria. You can't compare pilgrim/migrant created Anglo-Americans to Nigerians. Nigeria is indigenous territory of the many ethnic groups. The United States is not, and besides they're bound by English culture. Nigeria was not created with any of their consent. Nigeria's only options is 'federalism' or a break-up. There's no such thing as making a nation out of thin air.
I dont think ethnicity has anything to do wit it, Any educated person(i dont mean someone with a Bsc, cos not all with Bsc are educated in 9ja) should be able know that just because we speak d same language doesnt mean we are incompartible,
Things dat generally destroy marriages include
1) infidelity(Not tribe dependent)
2) Childlessness(Not tribe dependent)
e.t.c.
plus i dont think any marriage in nigeria has crashed due to ethnicity, ethnicity is just our fall guy when we cant face d truth.

@A-ZED,
football authorities like english fa, mourinho, grant, scolari, hiddink, ancellotti and even ferguson have said that mikel is very good and u did not heed to that so what again do u want me to say? can u write an agreement showing that u will listen to me if i stick to the point as u requested?
most nigerians have dark minds so wether u stick to points or not, it is irrelevant.
in fact, as long as mikel topics are concerned here, i am tired to make sense so making no sense here will do u and your group more good than harm.
in this whole world, it is not up to 10% of football players that will not be happy to play in chelsea. my dear, playing in chelsea is the dream of every young player and being a regular is more of a dream come true. mikel has landed and if he needs improvements then that will be because learning is an everyday thing not just because he wants to be seen by bolton or arsenal coach.
mikel has written his name in GOLD in the history of football.
wether u like it or not, no regular chelsea player is a common player that is why non of them cld be overlooked by their national team coaches as long as they are free from injuries.
if you want to criticize someone, u must be constructive and hide your hatred. i took my time to read through this forum and i see why nigeria has refused to grow even with all our resources. we are so wicked, greedy and envious to ourselves. how can a nromal nigerian say mikel is a disgrace, he passes side pas and backward, he does not score goals even when one of the greatest fas in the world is saying this guy is good.
most idiots here will say this player or the other one is not patrotic. tell me how patrotic is the ppl on this forum. assuming mikel is to be voted alongside a camerounian, with what we have here, mikel will not make it but God has his ways.
it is a shame that nonsense ppl like u will ask me to stick to topics when u know too well that your topics are more than irrelevant.
Of the coaches above tell me one that has called any of his players bad. FYI all coaches defend their own.
it appears many of the guys posting to this discussion only watch football without understanding football. Were Cannavaro, Makalele, Baresi, Gattuso or Dunga more involved in more percentage of goals for their teams than Mikel for his team? Wether you like Mikel or not, he is a gem. That is why a no nonsense coach like Mourinho to dig deeper at great costs into the gold mines to get him. That is why Ancellotti as kept faith with him. That is why rather than have Essien bench him, coaches have found ways to play them together. That is why he is a Chelsea regular.

Some of you folks seem to know more than The FA, Ancellotti, Guus Hiddink, Grant, Mourinho and FIFA put together; yet you are faceless arm chair commentators like me.

Scoring goals may not be his strong point, but the boy plays important roles for his team(s); things for which he is appreciated.
I don't expect the kind of folks who may be asking next time why Casillas and Van der Saar have not been banging in goals, to understand some of these concepts, but i have done my part in trying to educate them. I have little respect for such folks, that's why i have addressed them in 3rd person throughout this post.

Beware, i am not a Mikel fan, but we need to approach the technical aspects of evaluating teams and footballers more objectively. The collective population of fools posing as football eggheads may not have that capacity however.

PS: some1 insinuated that Mikel is not amongst the top 20 defensive players?! where did he get his stats from?! such ludicrous insinuation!!! Mikel is not a top 20 defensive player and he is a regular for one of the top 10 clubs in the world?!!! i'd better ignore such uneducated posts next time. abeg, make better person yarn.
does working for the richest company on earth make u d richest man on earth or attending d best skul make u d most brillant studenthuh?? or a simple analogy that u might understand, pepe plays for d biggest club in the world(real madrid) does that make him d best center defender in d world or even among d top 10huh?
i dont think anyone has said mikel does not play an important role from his team, Goals win games hence true mikel fans want him to pop one once in a while, why cant he be d best player at chelsea or are those people who win it with two head,
he has acheived the 1st step which is getting 2 chelsea, he has acheived d second step- being a starter, his mission and 3rd step should be being da best player at chelsea and that wat he true fans want,

this thread topic says mikel is rated 2 best ball passer in epl and the most fortunate thing here is that am not the original poster of this topic but wat do u have to say about the topic?
in the land of the blind, a one eyed man there is their king so in arsenal, anybody can be captain and not in chelsea or man u or even liverpool.
most of the players running things in arsenal will be on loan if they are man u or chelsea players.
if u say mikel is an ok player, no problems but he is still the best player in nigeria at the moment or do u have anyother name for that?
if u like jump into the well, mikel no send u and me self i no care.

with side and back passes, the boy don become billionaire. hey, his first contract of 3 yrs was aat 45k pounds a week outside bonusesssssssssssssss pls if u have a big calculator, do me a favour and show me total.
his second contract now runs at 80k weekly and it is for 5 yrs, but don't bother urself calculating that b4 u have brain ,
have u ever listened to this guy speak english? he speaks polished and refined english with micheal jackson's voice.
listen, we are in democracy so u have right to die if u want.
do u know that with the number of ppl watching mikel week in, week out, it is possible, he is the most popular nigerian or do i make this a thread topic?
do u know that if soccer is military, mikel by now will be a general?
hahahaha, broda, jump into the lagoon if u are not comfortable with this mikel issue.
who is your best nigerian player and where is he playing.
if fabregas related to u in anyway? continue dreaming bcs u have maleria.
@ orangemen,
in d land of the blind(Nigeria), one eyed man is king(Mikel, ) People who critisize mikel dont hate him, rather they want him to improve unlike sycrophants like u who r concerned with his wealth n hopin he give u some,
I've not seen anywhere on this thread where mikel english or accent was questioned or even mention
stick 2 d topic which is mikel's passin ability, whenever a thread is started on mikel's wealth, then u can mention d size n length of his contract.

@A-zed,
at least u have confirmed your mental status with what u wrote above.
apart from the national team, fabregas as a player at club level has never raised a trophy. remember, he has to wear barca jersey to raise the world cup trophy won by spain.
only last season, mikel raised the community shield, the fa cup and epl cup. do u know the fabregas and wenger became so dry with trophy that they went and buy a tray pan which they raise at the begining of every season after winning their invited weak guests.
mikel is not from spain so let us wait till he become a spainish.
apart from u, who again in this life will believe that mikel will not play in arsenal?
i hope u watch chelsea vs arsenal last season home and away? do u still remember the result? arsenal is just a training ground were young talents are raised for future business at different levels hence if anyone in arsenal thinks he is grown enough to face the real life, he will go out there and try his luck. do u like to hear some names or are u not aware fabregas is on his way to a real club?
mikel has d epl, fabregas has d world cup, mikel has d fa cup, fabregas has won dat, if its by trophy u compare players, then a certain player called mellor has won d champions league with liverpool and drogba hasnt anderson of manu has won d champs league lampard hasnt, does dat make mellor better than drogba??or anderson better than lampard,
fabregas is way above d level of mikel comparin dem is actually blasphemy,
for Christ sake mikel is not among d top 20 defensive midfielders in d world, so wats d fuss abouthuh?
mikel is an ok player not more than dat,
epl team of d season he has never been dere, he hasnt even won chelsea player of d season

codeb:
@ A-ZeD
likely your a manu fan or you belong somewhere in rugby.
Mikel started as an attacking midfielder in his career but mourinho moulded him into a defensive midfielder called holding midfielder in modern football. He had to start from the scratch learning tackling and understudying makelele.
messi continued his role as a forward, and in football attackers are widely celebrated unlike defensive midfielder where their achievements usually go unnoticed.
Mikel is and will forever be a star.
Mikel will not be d first player 2 be converted, Kolo toure was also converted from a midfielder and to a central defender, maicon, dani alves gareth bale, sergio ramos are all defenders but going forward they are all better than mikel. Besides if u were once an attackin player, stayin back like mikel does would be alien (old habit dies hard.)
orangemen:
@A-zed,
u sound informed and i like ppl who work with facts and figures and that is exactly what u have done here.
nigeria won japan 93, who were the stars and how far did they go?
atlanta 96, who were our stars and how far? in 2005, mikel was not the only outstanding player, wat abt the rest?
what abt the under 17 team that won with this now dead coach? who were the stars and how far?
which fabregas are u talking abt? what has he achieved in football apart from the just concluded world cup where he operate from bench? brother hard workers are only known when the work gets tough. do u think fabregas will captain this chelsea side? do u think song will make a chelsea first 11? let us be reasonable in our comparisms? fabregas himself knows that he has nothing to show for his club carrier as a footballer apart from emirate cupssssssssss hence he is struggling to get out of his comfort zone to go where the competition is high.
in soccer, even if u cannot score, u must not conceed and pls correct me where am wrong.
one big question, if u are in mikel's shoes, would u rather go for a goal or goals to pls your fans or remain goal less to pls your coach and the ones who employ and pay u?
a rephrased version of this question is; whose instruction is more important to a player? his family members and fans or his coach?
if u prefer it this way, who would u rather work to pls if u are a footballer?

oyibo ppl said; he who pays the piper dictects the tone abi nigerians wan change that?

were the french fans this bitter with makalele when he was in chelsea and not scoring goals?
who is even sure this quest for mikel scoring is of genuine mind especially now u guys are not chelsea fans?
For the bolded, part, fabregas has achieved more in football than mikel, if mikel were spanish, he wont even be considered at all. do u think mikel will make it at arsenalhuh
d reason, c.ronaldo & messi are great players is cos they dont always do wat their coach wants, u dont become great by doing wat ur master tells u, u become great by takin risks.

Great players take risk, ok players like mikel are happy 2 be where they are and never improve, besides who says because u r a dm u should not contribute to the attack of ur teamhuh?
