I think its time to start introducing all Yorubas you know both within and outside the country to Nairaland to let them see what the Igbos truely think about them.

I'll tell them to start by googling "Yourubas are..". Then I'll explain to them that the origin of the results is Nairaland.

Its time some people start feeling the effects of their unbridled tongues.

@ Awodman. How would you do it if you were Governor?? Will you fix feeder roads first and wait for the FG to fix the main roads while pot-holes cause traffic gridlocks, trailers falling with their containers, an unsightly environment, slow movement of goods and services all in the name of Politiking?? That's the reason Nigeria never moved ahead all this while.

This is something that was taught in Economics class in secondary school. Fashola is applying it and you want him to wait for one FG because of Politics??
Politics › Re: Tale Of Two Link Bridges In Lagos by ba7man(m):
awodman: You are still blowing hot air..the FG has never said they won't fix the road and they have not begged for anyone's assistance..the Oshodi-Apapa road is been worked on by JB..yea I read the five minutes of shame and it should interest you to know that the airport road is currently been handed over to a private company on a PPP model..so clearly the FG doesn't need Fashola's help..

The allocation coming to Fashola and the IGR he generates is clearly for improving the conditions of asset owned exclusively by his state and to build new ones..even the Lagos-Badagry he took over what's the rate of progress on the road.

Pls tell the intelligent Governor to face issues with his state just like the bridge in this thread and stop playing to the gallery using FG roads..enuf said
You guys might like to wait for the FG to do things for you wherever you are but we've stopped doing that in the West. Its called "Taking matters concerning you into your own hands"....not leaving it in the hands of the FG.

Those roads are major issues concerning the state, they are the State's lifeline so its only right Fashola is concerned about them.

In the human body, when u burst your capilliaries you can still function effectively but when your main veins and arteries are burst, you bleed out and die. Same with these roads in Lagos.

For a state to function effectively, goods and services have to move between different locations on those primary roads owned by the FG, not within neigbourhoods on feeder roads owned by the State Govt. Fix the primary roads first and the secondary ones will follow....He waited for the FG, they were foot dragging and he took over the responsibility.

Its not about politics or fixing roads, its about fixing a State's economy. That's why Lagos is clearly growing faster than the rest.....or how would you do it if you were in his shoes?? Keep waiting the same way they've been waiting for a 2nd Niger bridge in the East??

awodman: So when roads where seperated and marked federal and state roads the drafters of those policies where stupid?..why will he be interested in those roads if not for cheap political gains?..has the FG said they won't or they don't have the capacity to effect major repairs on those roads?..there are alot of state roads in Lagos that are equally of economic importance, are they all in good shape?..and please don't mention Lekki-Ajah expressway which has not been completed but is currently been tolled..

I know you love Fashola alot but you need to be rational about it..
Did you read the thread on "Shameful five minutes to Nigeria's busiest airport"huh.....That's another neglected federal road.

Fashola has being agitating to fix it too. If he does and plants trees along it, will you term the move political or call him "flower planter" like some people do??

The most economically Important roads in Lagos are FG roads and the state can't function effectively if they're left in the state the FG wishes them.

Annointing flows from the top. You fix the most important stuffs first before undertaking the lesser ones.

I know what I'm saying here. Those FG roads are the most important roads in the State and for decades, the FG has neglected them. The bad state Oshodi-Apapa, Badagry Expressway are currently is as a result of that neglect. Sometimes, its almost as if there's no FG presence in Lagos.

I mentioned Ajah Lekki Expressway because it leads to the Free-Trade Zone and as we speak, work is currently being done on it.

There is a flood plain close to where i stay. If i decide to build a bridge across it to save the long journey of driving around it and i toll it to generate money.......Woe betide any f00l that comes to take pix and pass it off as a Government failure.

These dullards are getting desperate.
Politics › Re: Akpabio Is A Magician by ba7man(m): 4:52am On Aug 03, 2013
With the infrastructural transformation, i wonder why people aren't flocking to Akwa-Ibom yet.

Lagos needs to loose about 50 percent of its population which would end up being about 8million left.

There are countries with less than that better than the whole Nigeria so i guess sanity will return to the State.
you soo myopic. The reason why we move to Lagos is because it is the capital of the Nigerian economy, it has the only truly functional seaport too but don't worry, Ibaka seaport will commence operations in 2015 at Akwa Ibom and it will e the deepest seaport in Nigeria. It will be able to berth ocean liners very much like Apapa seaport.

All this eko chest-beating will cease soon. grin tongue grin
2015 is almost here, you must move eastwards at the prescribed time oo.

BTW, when u start doing business in Akwa-Ibom, if you like, start telling the Indigenes that you own their economy and you own 90 percent of their lands and see if they won't run your arses out.

tomakint: Lagosians are toying with their future being mortgaged by the two Schemer-in-Chiefs, Tinubu and his sidekick, Fashola! Most of Fashola's policies are definitely anti-poor who still form the bulk of Lagos populations! Since 1999, Tinubu and his cronies have been siphoning Lagos monies to better their lots while using the little from it to grow flowers around Lagos and also coining the slogan 'Eko o ni baje o' for the Mumus among them! What a pity.
But i hope you know that Lagosians regardless of tribe are the most intelligent lot in the Country. Why else do you think there's something called "Lagos Sense"?? The most enlightened people in Nigeria are in Lagos so if they're content, who cares what you think.
Politics › Re: Tale Of Two Link Bridges In Lagos by ba7man(m): 11:05pm On Aug 02, 2013
awodman: Getting ready?..after over 6 years in power and he is still getting ready?..then when are we expecting the completion?..Nobody is engaging on a smear campaign but just bringing things govt might not primarily aware of to their knowledge...

This is among many of the roads begging for attention in Lagos but the governor will want to be fighting with the FG over Airport road and Lagos-Badagry Expressway..Nansense
He's fighting for the the roads that serve as the main drivers of the State economy. Lagos-Badagry Expressway, Ikorodu-Road, Oshodi-Apapa Expressway. He built the Lekki toll bridge and Lekki-Ajah expressway to serve as a generator of constant funds. Why do you think its located where the rich reside??

If you settle down to study him, he's far more intelligent than you think.
Politics › Re: Tale Of Two Link Bridges In Lagos by ba7man(m): 9:32pm On Aug 02, 2013
The state Government didn't build the wooden bridge, the community did to ease access.

Ok, picture this. I and the youth in my community build a wooden bridge to provide a shorter route to an adjourning community and we toll it to make some money for ourselves and our community.

Soon, some guy with a smear mission takes a picture of my bridge and passes it off as a Government failure. Does that make sense??

And btw, Fashola is already getting ready to construct a bridge in that location so does that help your case now??

I can imagine living in Enugu and having to travel down to Lagos before taking a flight out of the country. That would have been crazy stressful.

LADY OF RAGE: The source is from your head, really? Your head needs to be re examined. No insult intended. grin
It seems you don't generate anything in that head of yours....It must be hollow and full of air.

If you can't reason simple points to help you better yourself in your environment, I'm sorry but your daftness will simply hold you and anyone that associates with you back in life.

Have you ever wondered how bad apartheid was in South Africa.... I only have pity for those whose income are very low. Because a time will come this deportation of a thing will consume almost all poor people regardless of tribe or creed.
Eko O ni baje Oh!
Obaji ti ra ra
This isn't about the poor, its about destitutes. Clueless people wandering around aimlessly. I even believe as much as 70 percent of Lagosians are poor....but a lot of them have made themselves useful.

I'm on site right now and my workers aint rich but they're useful so it gives them a sense of purpose.

I still bought gala at Ojota in a hold-up yesterday and it was an Igbo guy that sold it to me. K.A.I (they wear green) were present and everyone was goin about their business.
Politics › Re: Tips To Avoid Deportation In Lagos. by ba7man(op): 2:35pm On Aug 02, 2013
Any sane human being rich or poor should be able to follow the tips giving above. Its to help them in any environment they find themselves in.

Someone should pls point out anything wrong with what's being written above. A large population of Nigerians have merely existed and that's why this Country is the way it is.

Make yourselves useful or risk being taken as destitutes and bundled home. Simple.

When Fashola deported Northerners, Igbos hailed it, now that he has deported their own people it's wahala!
Seriously, Igbos are begining to annoy me these days. They make too much noise.
And don't you dare accuse me of being Yoruba, I'm proudly Akwa-Ibom
