amicable09:hehehehe .....30th of Jan when everybody don return to city after the Xmas holiday abi? Even in the city I always look for that village-like environment to properly fit in. Me I like them fresh air, banking, food, river water ,hills ,etc. I be village man na. |
amicable09:lols ...I dey o dey enjoy village life....hope you are good? |
Reptyle:you took from my mind....how can one trust such supposedly non partisan body when his leadership reeks corruption and bias? if care is not taken ,another legal umbrella with a better dignity may evolve. |
Ibime:it is the bitter truth. Amaechi had driven all these criminals out of Rivers when he was the governor ,making Rivers to be relatively peaceful until Wike and Patience Jonathan brought them back in order to rig and ever since there has been no peace in Rivers. Can you trust a thug of a governor who sponsored attacks on his citizens during an xmas season and was already trying to pin it on APC so that he could sustain the hatred for the party in the state until he was exposed to have been responsible for the attacks? Removing Wike and PDP is non negotiable and necessary to heralding peace in Rivers . |
paj4love:it was lodged when ? and even if ,who forgets to declare a billion naira but remembers to declare lesser amounts if not a thief? No 1 law officer of the land who knows and should know more than anyone else.. ? Dont you have some shame? . |
TheFreeOne:and in saner society the ex-CJN wouldn't have resigned and probably be in custody by now after being exposed to have a secret account to which a questionable sum of a billion naira has been lodged in the eve of an election? mtcheww! ..you are patriot indeed! |
yes ,maybe the CBN but definitely no longer the CJN. shameless Bureau da chanji! |
naijapips04:he was actually exposed and jail was looking at him eye ball to eyeball before he ,without option, agreed that he messed up in that word 'forgot'! No sir ,it is you who can not reason because your brain had been onnoghed! Let me upgrade you ; the CJN bureau da Chanji was dragged before a law court CCT,solely empowered by the constitution to handle asset declaration issue ,and to which the CJN in 2013 in a landmark supreme court judgment had affirmed its superior power in asset declaration issues in Nigeria. Same CCT whose court Onnoghen is presently standing says Onnoghen must step aside pending the determination of the suit before it as Mr Bureau da chanji can't be a judge in his own case as the chairman of NJC even if the matter would come before the NJC that the ex -CJN illegally suspended indefinitely few days ago . And the president who you lots have been accusing of not obeying courts orders decided to swiftly obey the CCT. So why the funeral? |
naijapips04:after he was dragged or brought before the law and court not by himself without any prompting .....try another strategy or go to court to explain this BS! |
amicable09:Good morning ma. |
WNKQI:Dariye and Jolly Nyame are from which party? |
Hollusilva28:quote the part of the constitution that says PMB can NOT SUSPEND A bureau De Chanji CJN based on a court"s reccomendation? don't run o... |
SalamRushdie:and where in the constitution that says Buhari can NOT SUSPEND a corrupt CJN? |
modath:been laughing all of them to scorn....the speed with which Bubu hit them with the Onnoghen suspension is still leaving them stunned, confused and disoriented. |
yes ,in 3 or more months time. But he cannot be a judge in his own case ,hence the stepping aside called ' suspension'. |

ok |
crossfire:go and ask CCT the only court with express power to try asset declaration cases in Nigeria( Onnoghen SC ,2013) why ,after Onnoghen had admitted he was guilty to CCT in his own writing, it carried out its constitutional responsibility, and consequently recommended to the President to suspend the ex-CJN so that he couldn't and shouldn't be presiding over a judiciary that would be trying his case that is still in court....go ahead and sue CCT . |
where is the crowd? |
Emary:painful, and may he soul go back to God. One thing keep coming to my mind, since after death comes judgement as being claimed by some religionists, then God would now judge the innocent Julen and if found guilty would burn in eternal fire even if he was not given any time to sit for the examination of life or another opportunity to rewrite from whence come his assessment ? If we ordinary mortal wouldn't be that unfair, would an Almighty and ever merciful father to whom a thousand years is like a minute be so wicked? Julen 's issue has just reinforced my interest in reincarnation. Sorry I am thinking out loud in your mention. |
NgeneUkwenu:legbe ,legbe indeed! hahaha. |
onez:what part is Dele playing sir? by supporting corruption? No sir it is you who doesn't understand the fire the kinds of Onnoghen have lit on Nigeria which probably has burnt off the power of reasoning of the poor folks supporting his mess. Dele Momodu just called a supposed fair umpire an opposition member and you ain't shouting " blue murder!" , are you that wicked? |
modath:don't even loose sleep over the PDP instigated bombing of oil pipeline. Real ND indigenes who have benefited immensely from APC shall confront and defeat these PDP rogues. We know them, they know us. |
modath:Hehehehe PDP doesn't know the kinda sledge hammer that hit them in their political blokos! In 2013 Onnoghen had given a judgement at the Supreme court that CCT has the express power to deal with asset declaration cases. In 2019 ,after admitting in his own handwriting ,and probably a recorded tape with DSS, that he Onnoghen didn't declare about $3m in strange bank accounts, as well as other undisclosed property, same CCT, based on the weighty evidence before it, wrote to PMB to suspend the ex-CJN . PMB is simply obeying a court order on a Friday! Lmao! |
Tetehjewels:...they don't understand the political masterstroke the president employed the word ," suspension" to achieve right now; Onnoghen taught he was smart by tactically suspending the NJC ,so the president is saying he has some powers too. Let Onnoghen go to law courts if he is hurt or unsatisfied. |
Racoon:powers Comments Feed Feeds Feeds How Supreme Court’s verdict affirmed CCT’s powers by Joseph Jibueze — January 17, 2019 FacebookTwitterGoogle+Pinterest LinkedInWhatsAppEmail Chief Justice Walter Onnoghen, who is challenging the jurisdiction of the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) to try him for alleged non- declaration of assets, had given judgments affirming the Tribunal’s powers. In one of the judgments delivered on July 12, 2013, he held that the CCT had exclusive jurisdiction to deal with all violations contravening any of the provisions of the Code of Conduct Bureau. He also held that the provisions “expressly ousted the powers of ordinary regular courts in respect of such violations.” Chief Justice Onnoghen’s lawyers are arguing that the charges against him should first be decided by the National Judicial Council (NJC). Can the NJC not be considered an “ordinary regular court” in the circumstance? The judgment was in a suit numbered SC.279/2012 before Justices Onnoghen, Christopher Mitchell, Chukwuma-Eneh, Olabode Rhodes-Vivour, Clara Bata Ogunbiyi and Kumai Bayang Aka’ahs. The case was between Ismaeel Ahmed and Alhaji Nasiru Ahmed, Congress for Progressive Change (CPC), CPC Kano State Chapter chairman and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). Interpreting Paragraph 12 of the Fifth Schedule of the 1999 Constitution (as amended) as regards CCT’s jurisdiction, Justice Onnoghen held: “’…the said paragraph 12 provides as follows: ‘Any allegation that a public officer has committed a breach of or has not complied with the provisions of this Code shall be made to the Code of Conduct Bureau.’ “The foregoing provisions are clearly unambiguous and so construed literally mean that any breaches of any provisions of the said 5th schedule or matters of noncompliance with any provisions of the Code shall, (meaning that it is mandatory i.e. must) be made to the Code of Conduct Bureau that has established its Tribunal with the exclusive jurisdiction to deal with any violations of any provisions under the Code. “If I may emphasise, any violations shall be made to Code of Conduct Bureau. The provisions have made it mandatory to take any matters so covered by the 5th schedule (supra) to the Code of Conduct Bureau and not to any ordinary regular Courts as has been done in this instance. “If I may repeat, the Code of Conduct Tribunal has been established with the exclusive jurisdiction to deal with all violations contravening any of the provisions of the Code as per paragraph 15(1). This provision has expressly ousted the powers of ordinary regular courts in respect of such violations. “The Tribunal to the exclusion of other courts is also empowered to impose any punishments as specified under sub-paragraphs (2) (a), (b) & (c) of paragraph 18 as provided in sub-paragraphs 3 and 4 of paragraph 18 while appeals shall lie as of right from such decisions to the Court of Appeal. “Simply put, to tackle any violation of the Code starts before the Code of Conduct Bureau Tribunal to the Court below on appeal and on a further appeal therefrom to this Court. |
NgeneUkwenu:and up Rivers! |
jaggedboi:correct and to tell them if u or your family members collect any bribe from any politician you would be exposed. I am happy that Transmission and Daura are gone for I don't trust them to follow this new plan through. |
REDshouse:he forgot - a euphemism thieves use to evade scrutiny. And to imagine the Chief Priest of Justice in Nigeria spitting that nonsense would give you an idea of the kind of corruption in the country PDP wants to perpetuate... |
Damentia:seems you don't get it, do you? Those who are bringing Atiku have been the ones holding this nation down and have left us with no option than to embrace our Buhari till 2023...hope you get it? |
