GTB will only edit it if you give them the official NIMN slip with the modified details. I went through the same thing when I was trying to include my middle name in bank documents.

Gtb has been one hell of a bank, they kept saying it's done and then I can't even verify anything online, it always says my date of birth does not march with my bvn's.

GTB cannot change date of birth. You need to go to an NIMN agency or if you have the time,NIMN office. You will have to pay though. You then present the new modified nin slip given to you by NIMN to GTB who will then change your bvn details.

No, you just get the physical dollars (not more than 20 thousand dollars a year) and deposit it in the account.

No and no. They require I.D, proof of address and z passport photo.

I got the card whithin an hour of walking into the bank and the 10 dollars annual fee was deducted when I credited the card with dollars.You do need I.D ,proof of address and a passport photograph.

Olamaki remember I told you before GT Bank told me their fee was about $20 well, they didn't lie, I just ran away and called for my many friends and their cards and of course you know the rest of the story!

Nineteen dollars is much but I suppose the dollar card is safer than these fly by night virtual cards who will mug you if you use their card to pay for something but end up getting refunded as their selling rate and the buying rates are wide of each other. I trust Barter but unfortunately they are not active anymore

I remember the day I obtained UBA prepaid $ card, I was excited about it. Then, I decided to fund it by buying some dollars from Aboki. I also wanted to buy some items from Aliexpress. So funding the card, for me, would be the best thing to do at that time. But, I got the shocker of my life the moment my account was credited with the dollars - all the dollars disappeared instantly, leaving me with zero balance in my account. That was when I discovered that UBA had started deducting their charges without even allowing me to make a single transaction with the card..... Dollar card is not the best option for me.

GTB also deducted their ten dollar yearly fee the same day. If uba has already deducted their charges for the year then I suppose that you you've been freed to use the card for the year as they have no charges left to deduct.

It's only difficult if you live in a small town or a village. In Abeokuta the abokis swarm you when you pass along their business area, the same in Sagamu. You can be in and out in five minutes .

Virtual Cards Update
I have tried my ways round many virtual cards
* chipper cash
* kudiwave
* CashEx
*Gotok
* Klasha
But I finally settled with Klasha, CashEx would have been my preferred option because they have the lowest rate at 742 and no hidden charges but I am unable to create the card.

Klasha rate is ₦751 per dollar, is what you buy that you will see, no charges for depositing but the downside is when you want to withdraw your dollars, withdrawal is at the rate of ₦545 or so.

Please others share your experience.

I really don't understand why people go for these virtual cards when you can just open a bank dollar account buy dollars ,deposit in it and use it as you would a normal account. Am I missing something.

You buy the dollar from wherever you can get, it in my own case I bought it from the black market via an aboki and deposited it at the bank.
