1.5k for a bus back then is not cheap too as people were paid #60 as monthly salary. Many could not still afford a bicycle back then. From my research our increasing appetite for imported products and death of our industries is the culprit here.

I know that Nigeria's economic problems is multifaceted but arbitrary price increases devalues a currency.In the old days of 60 Naira salaries you could buy the bus in three years if you were able to save your salary but with the present days salary of 40k it would take you more than forty years to get the vehicle. So presently things are much much worse.

100 percent increase. Nigerians are daft I swear. My uncle bought a brand new small bus called Diatsu in 1977 for 1.5k.Something similar now costs around twenty million naira and I now use 1.5k to eat at a single sitting at the mamaput.Thoughtless people.

Why use VPN when you are not tunnelling or have a solid reason to hide your i.p number.The hiding itself might make them regard your card as suspicious.Better to find out what is causing the problem and correct it.

This case is quite baffling.Are you sure your names are arranged correctly when you registered on AliExpress and is arranged the same way on the virtual cards. If correctly arranged, what about the postcode. If all else fails then get somebody whose cards are known to always work to pay for you. If that falls then your account is the problem not the payment mode.

Most times it takes just a few bad eggs to tarnish the reputation of a society.also most Nigerian youths might not be into Yahoo but their mentality and work ethic is lopsided: small work and much money.
Many UK companies outsourced their customer service dept to India even though Nigerians also speak English because they they felt that the Indian character is less tainted

Guys I am in the market for an S21 ultra Samsung I am not in Lagos I have someone willing to send it for me at 350 UK used. With pouch and screen guard 360k but I checked AliExpress and saw it $444 with other cheaper options isn't it better to fund my USD account and order the phone form AliExpress.

Please note I've never ordered a phone before so how dose it go guys

Yes I'm from Abeokuta. Your Western Union maneuver is unlikely to work but I've been known to be wrong in the past though.You also need to be wary of speedaf in Abeokuta.They are good for registered packages but they expect you to go to Camp to collect unregistered packages.
The post office is efficient for unregistered packages.

Yes I have uploaded the tracking number, the seller is already threatening me that she will not receive the item when it get to china and china authorities will destroy it, and she will not confirm that they receive the product if they even eventually get it,

Honestly this is a nightmare for me, after this I will take a long break from shopping on AliExpress because most sellers are just very devious and liars, if that the item was less than $100 dollar, I would have just given up, but it’s $360 that’s why I am fighting still
And this is my very first dispute in 6 yrs of shopping on AliExpress.

Please do you know how I will come out from this mess, and still get my money.

You need to record your dealings with the seller and show it to AliExpress. The seller is clearly a bad egg and the threats and intimidations should work in your favour.

There was nothing really political in my post, I'm apolitical and merely stated my contempt for Nigerian intellect Politics will surely affect AliExpress shopping though as any government serious about shoring up the naira would ban AliExpress shopping or introduce punitive taxes on it as it is an fx drain.

I wanted to respond to the illogicality of his disposition, but I felt it was a complete waste of time, since he had already placed "the cart before the horse", and it's best to keep our "political leanings" to ourselves, so as not to derail the purpose of the thread.

There is no apparent illogically in my disposition. The naira has been severely weakened by mismanagement, corruption,lack of exports and general economic sabotage.
The real value of the naira is not 750 to one dollar but it is at that rate because of incompetence. I have no political leanings in Nigeria because all of them are devoid of ideology . Partisan politics is all about ideology which is missing here.They are crooks masquerading as philanthropists, besides almost all Nigerians are deficient in emotional quotient, excitable, crooked, lacking self control and unprincipled so I'm sure they will work against Tinubu anyway and get the naira to 1000 to one dollar.

Tinubu is looking at 300 naira to one dollar in the short term and 200 to one strategically.in like three to four years. I'm sure the obedients will scuttle the efforts and hamper him at every turn. It's the way Nigerians think.

Story time.

So last week Wednesday (12.04.2023), I received a call from a guy and he told me that he in the airport with my item and he is bringing it to my address.

I told him to go ahead, he proceeds to tell me that they are some charges i will pay o, i asked how much and this guy told me 10,850, I immediately knew something was wrong, so i asked him to come with receipt.

Two hours later around 12noon, baba came with my item to my office and with a sort of receipt (the image is below). He asked for my copy of my ID, i played him and told him that i didn't have my ID with me and asked him to come the next day - there was no way i was going to pay over 10k to pick up from aliexpress. As soon as he left me, i immediately email Nipost and they responded that my item arrived Marina PO since 6.4.2023. So apparently this guy goes to the post office, pick up item and calls the owners and lies to them and extort them.

He called the next day and i told him, i didn't have the amount he asked for. I told him i can only give him 2k, he agreed and when he came the next day i eventually gave him 1,500. Be careful guys, na rippers full everywhere oo.

The guy was just was just lying ehen. When i told him to return it to the PO, he told me it was not possible that there is no PO for it, that he was bringing it from the airport that if i don't pay and collect it from him, they would sent it back. The guy man be wan guy another guy man.

You are lucky they didn't extract the item from the parcel and replace it with a stone.Nigerians are extremely dishonest.

I've read so many times about the so called criminal inclinations of Tinubu and how he cannot travel abroad due to pending cases .I also read about Obi being an absolute saint but I find it odd that Tinubu is able to travel everywhere,in fact he has been figuratively given the keys of British cities while Obi was pulled over and stopped at the airport.
It is all the more baffling because the British only stop high profile people when they are absolutely sure of culpability. I remember working as a security guard in a departmental store in London in my student days and I was categorically told never to stop any high profile people I see shoplifting but to report to the general manager. I was free to stop and call the police on everybody else.
It does mean that Peter Obi is a person of interest.
