This man is not making any sense. You have the same idea, the same plan, the same Outlook, the same language, the same culture and value system, but you still believe in disunity, you still believe in seperation and divided strength.

Sounds retarded. I guess this clueless man doesn't believe in the phrase "there is strength in numbers.

Lagos acquires land for farming in other states to boost local food production by 25 percent
A lot of work had also been done in the cassava sector of the Transformation Agenda. It had delineated areas around Ikorodu, Epe and Ibeju Lekki axis as Cassava Production and Processing Belt (CPPB), where incentives for cassava production, processing and marketing would be concentrated. This is to promote employment, rural development and reduce poverty through the economics of cassava production.

A modern cassava processing plant to produce High Quality Cassava Flour (HQCF) has been processed for construction in the CPPB.

In the Aquaculture value-chain the state government aimed at creating an enabling environment to achieve one million metric tons of fish sustainability within five years and to generate five hundred thousand jobs within Lagos State that would lead the nation.

Being the foremost state with the greatest potential in aquaculture, the state has invested in the following areas: Hatcheries development, cage and pen culture using water bodies, fish estate and clusters, fish processing plants, fish feed milling and inputs development, research and extension among others.

Transforming poultry waste to wealth in Lagos

In line with the state’s commitment of turning waste to wealth, the Lagos State government has introduced a new technology that will transform waste from poultry farms into very rich manure for crop cultivation.

The method, according to Saba Gbolahan Adekunle, a poultry facilitator from the state ministry of agriculture and cooperatives, will not only curb the environmental hazards associated with the crude method of poultry waste disposal, but also yield huge income for the farmers.

Lawal assured that government will provide necessary infrastructure and utilities for the farmers in the estate. These include - a 10,000-bird capacity mechanised broiler house, feed mill with capacity to produce 12-ton of feed mill per day and a poultry processing plant with capacity to process 2,000 birds daily.

Towards Boosting Food Production In Lagos

Recently, the government launched the Modern Farm Service Centres across the state, starting with the Agege Farm Service Centre, closely followed by the Badagry Farm Service Centre which is nearing completion.

The FSC, formerly known as Agro Service Centre was established in the 60s as an Agro Service Inputs delivery outpost to offer advisory services as well as supply of agro inputs to farmers in the state. Over the last two decades, the functionability of the centres as a reliable source of relevant advisory services and a supplier of affordable agro inputs to farmers has declined.

In line with the renewed emphasis on agriculture and the spirited effort of the present administration to address food security issues in the state, the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives established Modern Farm Service Centres across the state.

The Farm Service Centre, which is a one-stop shop, will offer services, such as entrepreneural/training services, skill enhancement programmes, sale of agricultural inputs, provision of market information, advisory services and bringing service closer to the stakeholders.

The Farm Service Center is a one-storey building with a beautiful landscape comprising offices for all the departments and agencies of the Ministry.

Governor Babatunde Fashola launched the FSC recently. The aim is to ensure that the needed agricultural inputs such as fertilizers and others that will help boost food production are provided for farmers, among others.

According to Fashola, the centre was established to bring service closer to farmers and other stakeholders as well as train them in a modern class room environment.

“This is the first in the series as we will decentralize agricultural services to our farmers by replicating it in the five divisions of the state to bring service closer to the people, as this centre will become a one-stop shop to help alleviate their problems, thus saving them time and money,” Fashola said.

“A lot of work has also been done in the cassava sector of the Transformation Agenda. We have delineated areas around Ikorodu, Epe and Ibeju Lekki axis as Cassava Production and Processing Belt (CPPB), where incentives for cassava production, processing and marketing would be concentrated. This would promote employment, rural development and reduce poverty through the economics of cassava production.

Beaf: You posted the article to lie as is the habit with ACN people (especialy the NURTW types like you). That article is about smallscale farming, but you lied that it had something to do with the rice processing factory. Even when caught hands down, you're still lying!

What an unrepentant liar.
Oloshi can't read and comprehend. Please show us where any reference was made to rice mill in the article.

It was posted to show you losers that that the idea of EKO rice was floated way back in 2009 when your odechukwu uncle was still an errand boy for OBJ. Now in 2012 the useless people that can not even attache deal with BH or give us power are doing attache over other people's sweat.

Eko Rice Coming
Written by Augustine Adah

A brand of locally-processed rice called Eko Rice is to hit the Lagos market soon

This is good news for consumers of rice in Lagos and its environs. A brand of processed rice called ‘Eko Rice’ which would compete favourably in quality with imported ones from Asian countries would soon be introduced into the market. The rice is a product of “Rice- for-Job-Programme” an agricultural initiative of the Lagos State government to create job and stabilise the price of rice for the benefit of residents of the state.

That was in 2009

What exactly did the useless and worthless Odechukwu and his incompetent administration do regarding this Lagos state government initiative and project?

Abeg let GEJ people do attache now. What else do they have going on for them?

The useless and worthless GEJ and his administration see one person for Lagos wey dey do something they are forever incapable of doing, den jump on top to do attache...lmao

Well, the truth is on that bag of rice. It says EKO rice and Lagos state government, not abakaliki, FGN or Abuja rice.

So leave GEJ people alone, den need a little dose of relevancy and Lagos allow them to act useful for a change.

Useless GEJ people. BH and other wahala dey on top table and na bag of rice inside Lagos dey make them somersault like babies....

Kobojunkie: Don't get me wrong. For all I know this could be some PPP project designed to provide a central mill for rice produced in the area in and around Lagos. I do not know the particular details of the funding or the plans that have gone into this, except for what is contained in the beginning article. Also,it apparent, from many of the posts so far, that NO ONE HERE has additional details on this project either.

I simply asked a question and the usual INSECURE rats have come scampering out screaming as if someone has set fire to their behinds,
as always, by simply asking questions of the source of raw material for the mill. All I have done is ask if anyone was privy to that information. So far, it seems the answer is 100% NO.
Are you not ashamed to publicly admit that you can not read and comprehend? How many times were you told where to find the answer after failing to read for your own good?

It was not a question, it was you doing the same tired and played out thread derailment antics with your stupid and meandering errands.

Must we spoon feed you with info like a baby? Can you not read like the rest of us? Find another dumb game to play, this silly nonsense is played out.

You don't need to grow rice to mill it.

Any more than you need to grow raw cocoa to produce chocolate......
The location for the rice mill is a designated rice cultivation zone. It says in the article where the rice came from and they decided to build the mill because they moved from growing on 30 acres farm to 250 and they are projecting 500 acres.

It's the same dumb people and their usual re-tarded antics...

GAR3TH: Yes, but nigerian newspaper tend to exaggerated things alot to sell their articles. Though this is a good project, there is no need for the mega in the title, nor is there a need for the "ultra-modern" in ultra-modern shopping mall or "World-Class" Roads. There is really nothing special or cutting edge about them and hence why I find its just weird to use words like that. To me its just a normal road and a normal shopping mall and a normal rice mill.
But why not call it MEGA if it is MEGA? MEGA as a word was created for a reason and if the reason is there, what's wrong with it? Using MEGA to describe malls and projects is nothing new and they do it everywhere. Ok it's not MEGA to you, but it is to other people so what's the big deal?

PoliticsRe: Lagos Unveils Mega Rice Processing Factory by babapupa: 11:34pm On May 16, 2012
GAR3TH: I also found that funny. Excluding this project, Most projects in nigeria use the words, Mega, Ultra-modern, Advanced, World-class, Revolutionary etc but when they are completed they are nothing special.

They should just stop using those words.
Is Mega not an English word with a defined meaning? Must people look for other words to use because it doesn't sound good to you? I bet it's so OK for other people but never Nigerians.

Kolomentality on steroids...

The Governor added that the Rice mill story started four years ago when he was sworn in to office and he was n informed that the rice production capacity of the state yearly is 30 hectares.

He added that through sustained efforts spread over two and half years, it was increased to 250 hectares, adding that government was also concerned about embarking upon strategic irrigation to keep the farm wet always.

“We resolved to do 500 hectares per annum but we were now told, if you do this, how do you process it?. So, we decided in 2011 to building this processing mill before we increase production so that there will be no wastages when we achieve increase production”.
