Dede1:
Ojukwu, though a soldier, looked at the declaration of independence through the prism of academics. If there was any underestimation, it was the attraction of crude oil. It is completely unfound fallacy that Biafra recruited kids whom were armed with machetes due to lack of guns and fought barefooted due to lack of boots. Many North Vietnamese soldiers fought barefooted and still defeated soldiers that wore boot.

The defeat of Biafra was neither based on weapon sophistication nor numerical strength of the opponent but colonial master plain due to crude oil reserve in eastern region of Nigeria.

Brig. H Njoku never warned that Ojukwu was on a suicide mission.
This has got to be the daftest and d/umbest utterance ever.

According to documented history,  the Great Black Scorpion of the 3MC and OBJ whooped Biafra into submission, not the British Army.

Biafra surrendered to OBJ, not the British Army.

Talk about grand ignorance and stupidity.

There is no amount of intellectual bathing that will rescue a prodigal son such as you. You seemed not to be performing better than your forbearers.
Must you not save your usual meaningless garbage for you and your forefathers to read and regurgitate in your collective ruins and graves.?

Onlytruth:
I decided to address some issues raised by the Rev Dr in the video you posted, about his allegation that there must be something fundamentally wrong with a black person's mindset and worldview. IMO the reverend gentleman is both right and wrong.

I would address his wrongs -the allegation that black man (Negroes) never built anything in this world. I don't blame him much because he is saying all he knows. For instance, he did not know that in under 3 years of constant bombardment, Biafra built many technological things like tunnels, airport, refineries, marvelous bunkers, short range guided missiles, shore batteries, field machine guns and rifles, and assorted Ogbunigwes (bombs).

What I would say is that some black people have a problem seeing other blacks excel in anything they themselves could not do. No place is that more abundantly clear than in Nigeria. In over 50 years of independence, Nigerians preferred backward leadership to progressive one just because the leader of that progressive movement might be Igbo.

In my view, JEALOUSY was the biggest rallying point against Ndigbo and Biafra. Not much has changed even today.

Some black men will kill other black men just because he dared do what he the killer would never do. So, it is a collective curse borne by blacks all over the world. Imagine for once that Biafra succeeded and is today sending men and rockets to space and the moon, would that question still arise - NO.

So we sit and suck in the collective failure! Crabs.
Delusions no dey taya you people ni? Wetin igbo people have wey go make anybody jealous them? Abeg stop smoking indian hemp.

Maybe your people are, but we are not sucking collectively.

I understand that this dude is a great Nigerian, but honestly I know nothing about his objectives or accomplishments. As long as is a human being I have no other choice but to wish him quick recovery.

What I find very disturbing from this story is Ojukwu being transferred to UK for better treatment; I guess, UK (the master) is at it again to rescue another Nigerian leader.

How long are we going to continue to ship sick Nigerians to overseas for medical treatment?

It is sad, ridiculous and shameful tocontinue to read this type of story every other month.
All our leaders for the past 30 years should cover their ugly faces; in fact, they should all die with their families and go straight to hell.

We need to wake up quickly because time is absolutely not on our side.

How do you reconcile both? His a great Nigerian, but you know nothing about his objectives or accomplishments?

Why is he a great Nigerian and what's so great about walking millions of their death and dumping his men on the battle field to save his own skin/Living the good life in IC while his people suffered immensely?

State Police kehuh shocked shocked shocked shocked shocked

He only wants it so that him and his EVIL godfather can use what will become their personal police to collect their unjust tolls on Lekki Epe expressway that taxpayers have paid for twice: once during Jakande's regime, and now once more during Fashola's regime. Na wa for these EVIL longer throat Lagos Leaders o! read this link: http://www.standardbank.com/Article.aspx?id=31138164&src=m2009_31135327 and weep!

Tinubu sold the road to himself, Fashola is making sure he keeps it. I even hear that LCC now owns the whole of Lekki Peninsula, according to their contract. The agreement also PROHIBITS Lagos State government from making any untolled road available, or any competing means of transportation in or out of the peninsula except by air.

Join us tomorrow for the commencement of the fight against tyranny in Lagos State. No tolls, No fencing, No slavery.

Ode,  What's your silly link got to do with state police? And this is what your dumb link said,

The Lekki Project
is a 30-year contract that involves the construction and operation of a toll road corridor along the Lekki peninsular of Lagos, Nigeria. (This area is considered the fastest growing residential and commercial land in Africa). The road is an approximately 50km strip of road that heads towards the east of Victoria Island.

Standard Bank Plc's role in the landmark deal was as Lead Arranger, Underwriter, and largest lender to the project as well as the sole arranger of currency hedging. In addition The Standard Bank of South Africa (Project Finance) acted as Co-financial Advisor to the project.

Funding for the project, which should take three years to complete, comes from the Lagos State which has invested Naira N5bn (US$42 million) in a 20-year mezzanine tranche. The African Development Bank provided N10bn (USD85 million) senior debt over 15 years and local bank lenders provided a 12-year note facility of N9.4bn (US$80 million).

The remaining NGN 11bn (USD93 million) 15 year term funding was provided by Standard Bank Plc and onshore affiliate, Stanbic IBTC Plc.

"To source 15-year Naira in this climate is testament to a well structured and solid deal," said Mike Waller from Standard Bank Plc. Standard Bank was able to use both its offshore and onshore Naira risk management platforms to structure the long-dated cross currency swap, allowing dollar funded institutions to participate."

Commenting on the deal Rupert Boyd, Managing Director and Global Head of Distribution at Standard Bank said "This was possibly the highest profile transaction in Nigeria this year, given that the condition of the road directly affects the lives of millions of traffic-locked Lagosians."

Now, show us where it asserted anything regarding your ignorant nonsense.

They really need to ban you fools for spamming and peddling fake and irrelevant nonsense all over the place.

It was a good idea 2 or 3 years when he, and many others, said of the same. It was a good idea the umpteen times after that, that he has said the same, and that has not changed. I only wonder why we have to hear it like every other month as if we do not already know it is a good idea. undecided
Resident Ignorant. We want our leaders to consistently fight for us, not give up because of some silly and ignorant road blocks.

Nothing in life is achieved without consistency, strong conviction and perseverance. It's like failing an exam and you telling yourself what's the need/You don't have to try again after failing the first time. Your shortsighted and misguided remark is for losers and irresponsible leaders.

Once again, I pray to God you're not placed in any position to administer the lives of millions of people.

oga, I sincerely hope you are not trying to excuse Tinubu's wasted 8 years. He could have prioritised one or two areas for execution while planning others for when there will be money to execute. the smart alec was just stealing Lagos blind to consolidate his godfather status at the expense of the MOSTLY gullible Lagos tax payers and residents on whose behalf he gets Abuja federal allocations.
Not trying to excuse anybody, the man didn't have any money to execute any capital project because the fed's via OBJ withheld and sat on the state's funds for the same 8 years you're talking about.

He did not get a dime from Abuja for your so called wasted 8 years. You can hate the man as much as you want, but get your facts in order.

Lagosians are benefiting from his heroic actions against Abuja, the state is now politically and financially independent. Even Fashola exercised the same screw you attitude when Yaradua tried to pull the same crap.

Be objective and don't let your hate and dislike for the man screw up your sense of judgment and misplace obvious facts and realities.

That the Government spent millions/billions on planning the Lekki Airport, since the 1980's, it is Ok for subsequent governors to do exactly the same? Essentially, Government is in the business of spending years and billions in resources on the planning stage alone. When do you think implementation should happen then? Seriously, don't you think it is best you stop posting the ridiculous retorts? I cannot, for the life of me, understand how anyone can try to justify 8 years of NO WORK at all by claiming all that time and resources was used for planning.
Resident Ignorant. Do you mind telling us exactly how much the stat spent and where you obtained your figures from?

Also like the poster said, many of what was planned like the BRT, LFT, Eko Atlantic, Metro Rail, Lagos Badagry expressway, are under construction or already implemented. Responsible governments plan, readjust their plans according to priorities and realities and also look ahead.

The Metro Rail idea was planed/conceived in the 89's by Jakande, but after so many administration who is now implementing the Metro Rail system? Fashola.

Seriously, what do you do if there is no fund to accomplish an objective, sit on your hand and say I don't have to plan or look ahead because I don't have money?  Even after planning and you still don't have the resources to implement, what do you do? Go rob a bank?  Is this how you run your life? Only ignorant folks like you still walk around with the idea that Rome was built in a day.

Now, don't you think it is best you to shut up and stop posting the ridiculous and ignorant retorts?

I dont know why many Lagosians are so gullible and shortsighted, nobody says Fashola has not done anything, but comparing Lagos earnings and his achievements i will rate him below average, remember we cannot compare some many other states in Nigeria to Lagos State, for instance the Budget of Lagos State for a year could amount to 6 years budget of another state in Nigeria, i think it is high time we stopped hailing mediocrity, all this people overpraising Fashola are his enemy, for instance in his first two years his performance was good, but later it began to subside.
This rubbish is obviously a reflection of your ignorance and zero aptitude about governing.  Running mouth about the state's budget and even comparing with other state and ignoring the state's population and scope of responsibilities magnifies your cluelessness and naivety.

Lagos puts out a yearly budget of only 2 billion dollars to take care of 18 million people and decayed or non exiting infrastructure and no government can perform beyond it's budget/Limitation. There are states in Nigeria (Cross rivers state) with higher budgets than Lagos state's and not only that, their population is 5-6 million and less than a quarter or Lagos states responsibilities and infrastructure demand.

With the scale of development going on in Lagos state, 18 million people demanding good roads, good schools, good hospitals, safe and secured environment and these other states with higher budget and less responsibilities and 6 million people, have you ever asked what those states are doing with all that money?

There is something called budget limitations and you can not perform beyond that limitations, same way you yourself can not spend what you don't have or do what do all the things y'ud love to do.

The mediocrity exists only in your brain.

Fashola is heading back to Alausa. Apart from his great performance, Fashola is 80% of their selling point, he's who they point to and reference as their ultimate template of good governance. Without Ashla, they have little or nothing to sell.
