Ahhh quite contrary to what they will have us believe,,,,Messi is Argentina and Argentina is Messi

I understand the grammatical construction and syntax

So let Maessi show us his national team trophies
Yes Argentina is overly dependent on Messi more than any other national team is dependent on their best player. However, it's still stupid to say one wins trophies FOR his nation in a team sport.

He does not need to show you anything. When he gets to the final of the Copa, you say why didn't he win it? When he wins the Copa, you say why didn't he win World cup? Even if he wins the world cup, you guys would still say why did he win just one?

Face it, the one reason you are interested in a team trophy is because it gives you a chance to justify your hate.
Sports › Re: Copa America : Messi Blames Poor state of Pitches On His Woeful Performances by Bahddo(m): 7:10pm On Jun 30, 2019
It's obvious there's an anti-Messi agenda on NL. Some hours ago, someone posted a silly thread about Messi giving Suarez the nod to kick a ball from under Neymar being the reason Neymar left. The thread made front page.

Why do you guys hate this guy? Because he keeps knocking out Nigeria? Because he disgraces your favourite EPL club? Why?

Messi never blamed the pitch. He agreed he hasn't had a great tournament so far before commenting on the state of the pitch. That's more than most footballers are willing to admit.

If any of you guys watch these games, you'd know he isn't playing the same role he plays for Barcelona. He's playing deeper behind the strikers and is unlikely to score as much as them.

For the first time in years, Argentina isn't depending on him to both create play and score, and so by his standards everyone thinks he's having a bad tournament, even people who only check scores online.

I hope Argentina wins this Copa so you guys can finally choke to death on your hate. It should have been the 2014 world cup, but this is also a good time.

Well I have nothing to say about Messi till he wins a trophy for Argentina.

CR7 all the way
'with'. No one player wins a football trophy for his country, as it is not a one-man sport. A player win trophies WITH the team.

Nairaland mods pushed this to front page? Are they retards or something?

May be you did not get it very well, he is referring to the intending or prospective tenants, not the existing ones.
Mw, he ejected all the existing ones before he made the rules public...
What of if u r a christian, and because your tenant is an herbalist or sango priest, does he have the right to turn your house (or even his apartment) to a shrine?
no, even if you aren't a Christian, he doesn't have that right to turn your residential apartment into a business or religious place. Turning it into a shrine is the about the same as opening a bakery or mall in your compound and is outside the scope of your tenancy agreement.

However, you cannot force him to not draw chalk circles around his eyes and sit on the floor in his rented house. Unless it is stated somehow in the agreement which he signed, you have no right.

His house his rules.
Do u have any issue with that
if you rent his house, the apartment becomes yours for the duration of the rent. If not that Nigeria is mostly made up of foolish fanatics, no landlord has the power to tell tenants how to dress.

Harassing anyone for wearing trousers would be a violation of human rights and a crime.

What happens to the players Barca signed in panic?

She simply narrated her side of a story. It's left for them to investigate, press charges, prosecute and sentence or acquit him.

He is a striker. Strikers score goals no matter how slim the chance. They do not go about passing in front of goal like midfielders. I stand by Ighalo. If such opportunity beckons again, he should try his luck. You are not a striker. undecided undecided

He is our Messi and Ronaldo put together. The good people of Nigeria love him. Deal with it!
are you mentioning the same Messi that once chose to pass the ball when taking a penalty?

Even Ronaldo has more assists than the goals Ighalo has scored in his entire career.

If he doesn't know how to pass, then he shouldn't also know how to miss!

Only the Coach has the right to tell the players how to play and not you or any other spectator.

Mind you , the coach may not agree with you Ighalo was selfish.
At the time Ighalo had the ball, he had two decisions to make, shoot the ball or pass to Musa. He decided to go for Glory and missed.

He is only doing his job. There is no guarantee either that if Musa had gotten the ball, he would have scored.
this is silly... There's always bigger chance of scoring an empty net from 8 yards out, than there is of scoring from Ighalo's angle with the keeper providing some cover.

The ability to make the right decision quickly and under pressure is what differentiates the world class footballer from the good/average one. Ighalo made the wrong decision, as you can see from the outcome. It might seem inconsequential now, but in latter stages, bad decisions get punished.

Keep making excuses for him until we get knocked out after he (or some other player) messes up another chance that could have kept the dream alive. I hope you don't fake outrage if that happens.

You didn't get it?

Ighalo may be wasting chances but there is no one in that Nigerian team that has a better track record as a striker.

It means we can't afford not to use him. We can only hope he improves.
does not mean you shouldn't tell him when he messes up.

No one is saying he should be benched. We are saying he was selfish, and in another game that could turn out to hurt our chances.

Ighalo maybe have been selfish but currently Nigeria do not have a better striker than him.

So
what has this got to do with anything?

If you keep wasting chances like this because you are selfish, the whole team crashes out of the tournament soon enough. Then it wouldn't matter anymore who your team's best striker is.

GeniusWannabe:
Critically looking at that scene, I don't think it's fair to say he was completely selfish.
I think he was in two minds there, trying to trick the goalkeeper into thinking he would pass to Musa. The keeper seemed close to the ball, so it would be easy for him to prevent the ball from getting to Musa if Ighalo had made the pass.
That's why I feel he wasn't necessarily being selfish. Perhaps, he was out of excuses at the moment or didn't know how to explain his misdeeds, that's why he claimed he didn't see Musa in the other end. I'm pretty sure he did Lol.
no way the keeper could have prevented the ball from reaching Musa. Even the defenders closing in would not have gotten the ball. Ighalo was just being selfish.

No sir. Wole's grouse with atiku's candidacy was the fact that OBJ actively supported it. That said, he never "chose" PMB over atiku. What he did was to not support either of the two which I believe was a mistake for him. He was too blinded by his disdain for anything OBJ he failed to see how PMB was being managed and goaded by hawks, not for his performance of promise, but the popularity he has up north with ensures those people stay in power by proxy. That to me is a great robbery.
he did not have to support either. You sound as if Buhari and Atiku were the only options.

In the under 20 world cup against Italy and Mali, the first Italian goal was offside, the referee check var and awarded the goal, an Italian player dive in the Mali box 18, the malians beg the referee to check var to see it was a dive, the referee refuse, that was how Italy went on to win that match. At the end of that match the fans booed the Italian team.
Racism do happens in football.
how does that U20 match prove racism happened in this England vs Cameroon match? Did you even watch the game? The Cameroon women were nasty, but the ref was soft on them.

How can you be the one elbowing and spitting on opponents and still be playing the victim? If you side the Cameroonians on this, then maybe you are the racist one here.

a Ghanaian is more likely to get a visa than you, for most countries. Just so you know.

Have you travelled out before? A Ghanaian passport is more respected than your green passport, no thanks to the stupidity of people like you who think fraud is a valiant thing.

You don't get it, do you? Sakawa boys is their own euphemism for what we call Yahoo boys. No one outside Ghana has any term for fraud that starts with 'Ghanaian'. 'Nigerian prince' is a different story entirely. It has been used a lot in Hollywood movies and even videos games.

The media is not the problem, actually Nigeria has a culture of silence... That 'mind your business' nonsense. The way we justify and even encourage dishonesty is the problem, and it has to stop.

The only people deserving of any blame are the fraudsters and their fans.

Yes, other countries are likely to focus on our negatives, but we have so much of it we make it easier for them.

I don't live on Nairaland, if I had seen the thread and commented on it, it would be to express displeasure over the fraud and exploitation of desperate people. Absence of evidence isn't evidence of absence.

Fraud is criminal regardless of who does it. You guys are the ones justifying Nigerian fraudsters just because 'other countries have fraudsters too', and because the economy is hard.

No matter how hard you are trying to justify it, you aren't a fraudster because some white man has defrauded Africans before. You are a fraudster because you are dishonest, greedy and lazy and would rather trick people and steal their money than do legit work.

And yes, I hate fraud and that is not self hate, unless you are implying that Nigerians are naturally fraudulent. I hope all fraudsters die soon (unless they give it up) together with the other persons who justify corruption and rape our nation.

We have a good population of youth that can focus on technology and place Nigeria in the league of nations that are forces to be reckoned with, but no... the majority would rather steal money and then send the money right back to foreign economies by buying meaningless luxury goods. Believe it or not, there are people who don't scam anyone and wouldn't even take lost money or some other valuable that isn't theirs. I'm proudly one of them. If I find your lost phone, you can be sure you are getting it back.

If you weren't in such a hurry to defend dishonesty, you'd have noticed I said the only difference is that those other countries punish crime and the public does not try to justify it. If that sounds to you like I'm saying there are no fraudsters there, your brain is really slow.

There is no government separate from Nigerians. Nigerians are the government. The government is messed up because Nigerians are messed up. If you are defending fraud, you are a big part of the problem!
