A handful of him and we will see real change?

what we need is fewer people that reason like YOU
Lol don't be upset. I modified to 'personality', obviously we don't need old men.

Wow I can't believe there are Nigerians who reason this way. We only need to have a handful his kind of personality and we start to see real change.

Meanwhile, a big shout out to all the medical people on the covid19 frontlines . Heroes without capes. God bless y'all.

will like to advise Nigerians in my own little way;

1. Don't shake hands with anybody.

2. Boil your drinking water and allow it to cool before drinking.

3. Eat at least half of a bitter kola everyday.

4. Be careful when buying things from the roadside. E.g. a woman selling Akara will use the same hand she uses to collect money, to count and package your Akara. Same goes for Mai Suya etc.

5. Don't eat without washing your hands.

Pls, I love you all.
6. Social distancing

7. Wearing of face masks if number 6 isn't practical

Interesting contributions by Neoteny7 gypsey and IamgratefulLord

Ginger, garlic, lemon, lime, bitterkola etc can help boost the immune system
Family › Re: What Comes With Marrying The Breadwinner Of A Family? by Bamz(m): 7:35am On Apr 19, 2020
mrblessed:
There is always a contrived fuss when a man is at the receiving end, but if it is a woman, it suddenly becomes the man's obligation. You have got two problems: a man who is the breadwinner of his family and his seemingly endless borrowing disposition.

My instinct tells me that, you resent his family's financial standing and, of course, will latch on any spurious reason to bolt. More so, the bleating of bimbos of Nairaland are united -- as always -- in an overwhelming demand for termination of the relationship. Be my guest!
Its so rampant. I hate herd mentality. These ones can never be counsellors. Whatever happened to trying to resolve the issue and then breaking up as a last resort, sometimes I feel ashamed of this generation of millenials. Over 80% are canvassing for a break up. Good luck to the op.

Big call to action I must say. What is the African CDC actually doing? For us here, our problems are actually systematically ingrained. No wonder you see African doctors doing quite well overseas.

To end, I just want to say thank you to all the frontline healthcare workers out there who are working under so much stress and risk. God bless you.

I don't quite understand your post or maybe it just sounds dumb to me.

If I get you correctly, you're asking us to advice you on how to talk to a girl you've dated for 2 years, right? 2 fudging years?

You lack communication skills from the look of things and you don't yet have a handle on your girl yet. Work on these before you wife her.

A man in control would know how best to address issues with his girl. Your relationship is mature enough. Whatever specific advice you get here may not apply to your situation.

If you read the whole text you will understand. Only an illiterate will not. That's why the speech is long,so that he can present his logic.

And if he leaves Katsina and Kano that have only one case for selfish reasons, they will soon have their own lockdown. Let us always use our heads and do away with irrelevant sentiments on issues of life and death
I commend you for this civil rejoinder. I'm keeping my opinion of the lockdown extension to myself because it's indeed a sensitive issue in these parts. The lockdown has only helped to aggravate preexisting issues, no surprises here. The only sensible thing of course is to be on the right side of the law in this trying times.
Politics › Re: Coronavirus: Ekiti Government Extends Lockdown By Two Weeks by Bamz(m): 4:30pm On Apr 13, 2020
And the people stayed home. And read books, and listened, and rested, and exercised, and made art, and played games, and learned new ways of being, and were still. And listened more deeply. Some meditated, some prayed, some danced. Some met their shadows. And the people began to think

And the people healed. And, in the absence of people living in ignorant, dangerous, mindless, and heartless ways, the earth began to heal.

And when the danger passed, and the people joined together again, they grieved their losses, and made new choices, and dreamed new images, and created new ways to live and heal the earth fully, as they had been healed.

Oh, I remember that period, it was a sober one indeed. The fact that you ply the same road or waters someone else plies without you getting any accidents is only God's grace.

If I may add, never get complacent in any position that you're at in life.

Complacency has led to the downfall of dominant empires. Always think that everything is transient and that you need to always put in consistent hardwork. If it were easy, everyone would be great.

Your mom already said 'no'. Would you listen to a bunch of strangers over her?

The only thing you can right now is buy her support.

1. Get mentors in the industry to tutor you and share their experiences so you have a good idea of the risks involved

2. Persuade your mom using these mentors to allay her fears

Assually money matter is tricky o as it brings out the true self of the people involved.

As a principle, I dont borrow people money I know I can not forfeit. So, borrow him if you're sure you won't miss it too much in case he disappoints.

Or, take it as a transactional arrangement where you ask for collateral in case of default. Ensure he signs something witnessed by another while handing it over.

I just really hate doing money parole with friends.
Hi, I sent you a PM.

Drfernandez,
I'm going to share my experience with you in one sentence like many others have done:
Do not part away with money that you're not willing to forfeit.
Now there are exceptions to that:
1. You can lend easily to someone with whom you've had a good history of lending/paying back
2. You can lend easily to someone that you're sure of their income and their behaviour when it comes to money matters; You may need a 3rd party to act as arbiter in you're not sure of their temperament
3. If it's a business partner, sign a fudging legal agreement

Since this person is your best friend, number 2 seems in order for you provided they meet the conditions stated therein ELSE go with the main rule and lend what you can afford to lose.

1. Argue on the queue with a pregnant woman or an elderly person because you don't want to allow them to get ahead or
2. Raining curses on an elderly person because of a small argument.

I've experienced both situations and I must say that they're not pleasant.

Well, my job was to coordinate the setup of a centre by overseeing resource allocation, purchases, logistic, installation and relationship management. Everything was done by voice calls and online. It was just like an event coordinator's job...arranging and getting everyone to do their bits. It's amazing to know how much one can achieve by being a collected thinker and knowing where all the likely resources are. Imagine being able to get bedsheets monogramed within 24hrs inside lock down....google is bae grin
Lol, many thanks. Seemed quite engaging and hands-on.

1. I finished reading my first book for the year.

2. Sat down to review my shortcomings in bitcoin investments over the years and the way forward.

3. I'm a metrics person so I tried to track my time usage for my major activities

4. I downloaded Houseparty grin. Houseparty is to Facebook, what Zoom is to LinkedIn.

5. I realised that sometimes it's not a time problem we have to realise our goals. Most of us have an 'excuses' problem. This break would rat those with that problem out. embarassed

sisisioge,
I will love you to share your experience with the remote PM job. I'm currently renewing my cert, and I won't mind such jobs right now.

I definitely think this is possible in Nigeria esp in Ogun, Lagos and FCT. Mobile labs are the way to go. In months to come, testing for COVID-19 would be as cheap as doing a widal test.

Stupidity,

I'd like to think your claims of spirituality and sex are not far from the truth owing to the reason that I'm from a Christian background. Yes, sex is cheap and Nigerian men are enablers. I was debating with a friend if he thought people of our age group could still be virgins and he laughed it off.

For a man, the test of money, women and power are very important. There are people that may appear great in our eyes even as they mismanaged either of the three (for instance, women as in Tuface's case) but I'm sure if they had to do things all over again, they'd do it differently.
