LordReed: You are calling sex sin and you say you didn't call it bad, that's exactly what you are calling it.
No. You don't understand. I'll try to explain.
Sex isn't bad. Sexual maturity is the period humans find themselves more self-conscious and aware of the world. In other words, humans become truly knowledgeable only after reaching puberty, from the age of 9. Knowing what's good and bad and realising we have free will gives us the option to do good or do bad.
As people sexually mature, they develop mentally too...
Childhood is goodness not because of the lack of sex but because of the lack of sexual/mental maturity which comes before sex. Sexual/mental maturity is bad because of the exposure it offers...
When I say it's bad, I'm not condemning it... The Bible talks about God's love for children, so I imagine God favours childlike behaviour.
Kobojunkie: 1. Yeah, you can ask its meaning but to assert your opinion as being superior to that of the writer when you didn't get the same revelation is to basically reject the story and its writer's claims. So, is that your intention?
2. Giving a story an interpretation based on private ideas that do not hold as far as what is written is essentially the same as asserting one's opinions as being of better value than what is written. That is what religious folks/con men do.
Nothing in that story suggests childhood is goodness — that idea does not even come close to being the reality for the vast majority out there—, nor is sexual maturity the reason provided for the realization that Adam and Eve had of their unclothedness in the garden. So, inserting these ideas into the story where they were not originally contained, means you are rewriting the story itself to fit your personal theory.
interpreting it. Yes, that's what I'm doing. I could be wrong. The Bible remains the same. Who cares about my ideas?
The reason is a talking snake who gave Eve an unknown fruit to eat. We know.
Wrong! I didn't claim to know best... I asked for opinions after sharing mine. I clearly stated that I'm curious.
Just accepting the story is a proof of gullibility. You question things to learn.
The Bible clearly showed that they had children ONLY AFTER BEING THROWN OUT OF THE GARDEN. So you devils on top all your problems do not know how to read
But that's my point.
Hence, after leaving childhood (The garden of Eden) behind, they had children.
Kobojunkie: 1. You mean a proverb? When you twist the content of a story of one story in order to essentially fabricate meaning, you are said to be telling a story completely different from the first. Usually, you have to accept and follow the plot laid out in a story in order to grasp the meaning embedded within in. That is what smart is about.
2. It may be difficult, even near impossible, for you to grasp but that doesn't mean it is the same for everyone else.
Whatever it's called, you get it.
The write isn't here but his story is... You can question it's meaning, you're allowed to. I could be wrong, that's why I asked for different opinions... But you are allowed to read the book and say, "maybe this is what it means"...
LordReed: I don't agree. If sex was bad how were they supposed to reproduce? What was all the sex organs for if they weren't meant to have sex?
I'm not saying sex is bad.
But maybe the creation story just tells us what we are.
The garden of Eden represents childhood, which is goodness... Sexual maturity made Adam and Eve (humans) aware of their bodies and gave them the knowledge of good and bad, also giving them the choice to commit sin. That's the corruption of innocence; adulthood.
Adam and Eve had children when they were thrown out of the garden of Eden... Not before.
The Adam and Eve story is a recast of an earlier Babylonian myth about Adapa, it tell of how man lost the chance to dwell indefinitely on earth. The serpent of the tree is not the devil or Satan. That is not their domain..The serpent is either Ninghiszida or Dimuzzi. They are the serpents of the good and evil tree respectively in the original tale....
The Torah was written by Ezra when they came out of the Babylonian exile. He is the one that created Judaism as the national religion of the Jewish people...
Oh! I know they aren't real. How did you come about this tho? Maybe I could learn more.
Kobojunkie: The writer of the book leads us to believe this to be the case.
That's not very smart. There's a parable, "half a word is enough for the wise"... It means, you might not be told everything but you can get the entire meaning if you're smart.
No one, unless they are high on really good weed, would write the book, believing the story really happened...
We have reached the prophecy of hardness of buying and selling and the way you devils are making so much noise and desperately scrambling for stupid people clearly tells me He is very much closer now.
the wait continues. you're not the first and you wouldn't be the last. Life would go on. Don't throw yours away.
budaatum: Please do and save me from the ignorants here.
it's just an assumption though. I've created the thread. I would like to know what your thoughts are on the origin story. Why it was written, it's message and such. Even if it never happened.
I know Christians who believe the garden of Eden existed, Adam and Eve too, that the entire story actually happened... Here's my opinion.
God- good
Satan- bad
Adam and Eve being naked and innocent - human children
Snake- temptations associated with sexual maturity
Forbidden fruit- sex
Adam and Eve hiding because they were naked- being conscious of ourselves when we hit puberty
Adam's punishment- responsibility (growing up and becoming na man who has to toil)
Eve's punishment- the pain of childbirth (womanhood)
Cain and abel- represent how sin follows sex, humans are evil only after reaching sexual maturity. Though there are some good people.
***
The fruit of good and bad means when humans sexually mature, we become aware; we lose our innocence and become capable of committing evil. It's just the knowledge that comes with adulthood.
It's not a moral lesson... But a telling of our lives, of humanity.
***
I'm just making this story make sense... Maybe it had a meaning the writers wanted us to understand.
budaatum: I feel you. To those who read only one book, the snake deceived Eve, despite the fact that what it said turned out to be true to the point that she became aware she was naked and covered herself and freed herself from slavery and became self employed and went in to populate the entire earth, according to the book.
I think I'll create a thread about this. Maybe I'll mention you so you can tell me what you think.
Hashabiah: Wrong premise. We are talking about the promotion of homosexuality, because once that is done , it affects the rights of those who do not wish to be homosexuals.
If people go one promoting homosexuality, then pedophiles will also want their rights embraced. As we speak , there are countries in which the laws regarding the age of sexual consent is being lowered and this is as a result of accepting things like LGBTQ
Lmao. If you see gay men kissing and the sight affects you, it means you're gay. Are you so unsure of your sexuality? Seems like you want to erase any occasion of temptation. The age of consent has always been 18, which countries lowered it? Proof? You're not worried about the child brides in your own country, the young women used for sex slavery, the law that allows Muslim men to marry children... You're so bothered about gay sex.
Dtruthspeaker: Until the 80's it was not popularly known that women have sex with each other. But unlike today, people are now aware.
And it is only degenrate dogs like you people who find it attractive, yet in the end you come and shout in romance section how whorish they are. And right now, you people are not marrying them.
Yeah, social media gave homosexuals a community and a voice. They've always existed though. Even your Bible made mention of them. People pretended gay people weren't around back then, didn't change the fact that the were. Women have been having sex with women since the beginning of time.
I don't even understand your last paragraph but I don't expect much for you...
Dtruthspeaker: Is there any difference between your Presidents and kings? They both live richly and kingly, move richly and kingly with a trail of protectors whipping any who should come close, rule absolutely, demand their subjects to bow and obey them etc.
Is there anything a king has that the president does not have? No, not one.
Your pastors and priests too. Mention one man of God who doesn't live large?
jaephoenix: You have a point. I have thought of human sexuality like this before. And add this, females are more disposed towards gayism. You see them calling each other pet names, hugging, kissing, sitting on each others laps, thighs, caressing their boobs etc. I saw 3 Big Brother Titans girls sleeping together in the same couch under the same duvet. I thought to myself, none of those guys there would think of it. But everyone watches women do similar stuff. Almost as if lesbianism is permitted. Caveat: I HAVE NOTHING AGAINST LEBSIANS
Women are more likely to express themselves than men... Society encourages them to do so even. The ancient Greeks and Romans had no problem with gay (male on male) relations, so it was freely practiced. The male body was considered extremely beautiful.
I don't know why we are gay, no one does... But I believe if we can admire our own bodies, then we can easily admire the bodies of those who look like us. Narcissism maybe.
Dtruthspeaker: God is not interested in your choosings of your Kings. He did warn you all that you shall never have good rulers, if you reject His Rule, so, no one should disturb Him about politics and politicians.
You deserve whatever they bring to you.
Kings? You mean presidents... You are so obsessed, I wouldn't be surprised you have a flock of sheep and walk around with a staff.
Nigerians are religious... Over ninety percent believe in God. Yet we've never had a decent ruler. Americans are sinners and unbelievers yet they are doing so well. Kindly explain
jesusjnr2020: "Muslim-muslim ticket is evil and God would never support such a ticket" according to some Christians.
But then the same set of Christians would be tying God to their support of a Chrislam ticket.
Are they saying that God is in support of just one Muslim being in a ticket and not two?
Is that's not hypocrisy?
if they think God can never choose a Muslim to lead this country, they should only support a Christian-christian ticket to lead this country.
Otherwise they stop making it seem as though God is behind the ideas of their personal sentiments.
God bless.
Don't be silly. This isn't a religious issue. Christians rejected the ticket because of what they have been through these past years... A Christian would checkmate the Muslim. That's why it was wanted.
there's gay 0 and there's gay 100... Straight people are gay 0. Bisexuals are gay 50. Some bisexuals are more gay than others (more attracted to their sex)... People who are fluid fluctuate.
oteneaaron: Well, Christians and Muslims practice an imported religion.
Funny enough, these imported religions are only cheap copies of the Ancient African "Religion", also known as the Old Religion.
A simple investigation into the ancient origins of religion, civilization and science, will lead you back to Africa.
According to history, the main message from "Old Religion" was simply - The Knowledge of Self.
Know Thy Self.
It was this knowledge of self that made our ancient ancestors build such megalithic structures like the Walls of Benin, The Pyramid of Giza, The Sphinx, etc.
The first multi-genius ever recorded in history was the African man known as IMHOTEP - after he died, he was deified.
He was first surgeon and is the true father of medicine and not Hippocrates.
I can go on and on and on.
We must go back to our roots and learn about our true origins or else, we will keep repeating the mistakes of our ancestors.
Albertone: Intelligence isn't common anywhere! You might not be intelligent but might only be living in an illusion. Because how do you know you are intelligent?
If you are high value yourself, you won't have problem meeting high value men. You are what you attract. If you're not meeting high value men, make yourself high value and everything will fall in place.
For you to be meeting men interested in fraud and only sex speaks volume about yourself.
Shalom!
You ignored the part I said I rarely go out. You make it seem like people are magnet. You literally have to meet people, talk and spend time together to know whether you fit or not. That's the meaning of dating. This whole attraction thing is dating. People approach those they like physically, knowing if the person is good enough takes time and a lot of effort. So you made no sense.
When I meet a guy and he's wearing a polo shirt twice his size with dirty dreads, I immediately know he's not on my level. I don't need to date him to see that.
