I have been traveling to the US b4 you were even conceived. So your attempt at humour falls flat.
Traveling there and living there are two different things. I have been living here for some decades and i can tell you that i have not for one second experienced any sort of racism nor discrimination. There is a golden rule when dealing with police; shut your mouth and obey every command. You don't argue with a man with a gun.

True, Many people can't cope with the new price.

The hardship in the country isn't helping issues, many people have parked their vehicles and are now using public transport.

But some months (and years) back, One dullard said there's nothing like subsidy.
That is the whole point of deregulation na. When people don't buy it, the suppliers profits will take a hit which in turn would mean they will have to reduce price. Bros, it is all about supply and demand.

Keep on exposing the lies of this dullardic Administration.

I don't know if you are serious or not, but I have been thinking of doing something like this come first of January. It would be nice if we, and by we, i mean people who are not rich but can help students in Nigeria with small stipends to sustain them in school. I am thinking of giving one deserving student, no older than 22, 50 to a 100 dollars a month for a year, every year. Problem is the selection process. What do you think?

There needs to be a fundamental restructuring in the way Nigerians think for it to even think about it being passable as a Nation not to talk of it being great. This is how bad it is; If you bring everybody in America to Nigeria and transport everyone in Nigeria to America, after a while, Nigerians in America will be applying for visas to come back to Nigeria. You all want to be a great nation, but don't want to do the things that make other countries great. How does that make sense?

This is a follow up thread to the referenced thread below:
https://www.nairaland.com/3210525/nigeria-finished-me#47274430.

Went through the aforementioned thread last night, and I really wept at the level of suffering that has been passed down to us by the elites.

Last night I couldn't sleep cos of the pain and agony. Then, a thought came to me that we really can make a positive change and that we are not outnumbered, but rather, we are just unorganized. A 10million Nigerian youths can make a difference. Can ten million Nigerian youths converge at National Assembly or the state house? And every youth should know that if we don't protest now, posterity will judge us, our children will so curse our existence. This is a struggle for the survival of the common man.

Personally I don't think I will be alive come next 50years.
So, we should see this as a duty we owe generations unborn.

So I call upon all the vibrant youths that have already made a comment on the aforementioned thread to think about this proposal.

Bros. You don't know how happy i am to read your post. This is how it starts. It takes one person or a group of "normal" people to begin the change we all seek. Nothing might come of this, but at least it will bring right thinking people together to discuss the way forward. I have been in the thick and thin of people who are determined to fight and, fought for what they believe in all over the world and i can tell you that it starts when a people are at their tipping point. Nigeria is gradually getting to it's tipping point. The reason these guys get away with what they are doing is because of ordinary citizens in Nigeria who prop them up. Nigeria needs to do what Jerry Rawlings did in '79. Ghana is better off for it today. The reason why nothing will change is because the system is corrupt. The people are corrupt. What has to happen needs to be quick. It needs to be targeted. It needs to be violent. It needs to shake the country. We need a coup or armed revolution. Without this, we'll be talking about the Nigerian condition for the next 50 years.

Then there is no hope in/for the Nigerian people.
Truth be told, as it is, there is none. But, historically there is a way. Something drastic needs to be done that will shake the very foundation of the socio political context of the country. Nigeria needs to do what Ghana did under Jerry Rawlings in 1979.

he could have picked it up and denied he picked something else. He could pick and run away. I am not saying the "majority " are saints. Ofcourse, a country is a reflection of its people. You said if the young man gets into the government, he "will" do worse not may - I was trying to let you know you don't know him and one shouldn't conclude every Nigerian is corrupt.
I can reasonably conclude that he will do worse because of that majority. That's how it works. If it was an American or German that made the complaints he made, I would reasonable conclude he/she would make an effective change because the majority in those countries have the right mentality.
PoliticsRe: Nigeria has finished me!! by banmee(m): 2:36am On Jul 08, 2016
majekdom2:
Again, you are drawing conclusions from your experiences- not all passengers would ask the driver to give the bribe. That's my point- rare tho. Just as we read about a gatekeeper that returned 3.5m. If you didn't perhaps see it in the media and asked how many Nigerians would return that money, you would have said none. Yes, The economy has turned majority into something else but that's not to say there are no people who can do things right if given the power to.
You sure you are Nigerian or you've ever lived in Nigeria? The security man returned the money because he knew there were cameras around him. Plus, we are not talking of one or two Nigerians that will make the change you all seek. We are talking about the majority. The general perception is America is a safe country not because everyone is law abiding, but because the majority is law abiding. When you elect a Governor, it is not because everyone voted for him but because the majority voted for him. Are you going to say because you did not vote for him the outside world will not say "the people of Nigeria voted for him". The majority of Nigerians have the wrong mentality and it is the majority that can effect any kind of transformation. I went to the Nigerian embassy in Berlin for some business and guess what; The same dirty dealings and shadiness that characterizes life in Nigeria was being perpetuated all the way in Germany. Which is why the general belief is Nigeria is fantastically corrupt. That you are honest does not matter if the majority are not.

You talk as if these "social vices" just decided to invite themselves into the Nigerian way of life. Nigerians invited them. Even nurtured them. Now they protect those vices.

pls stop saying this @ bolded. There are so many Nigerians willing to do things differently. If 80 percent of politicians do not see government as a means of livelihood, Nigeria won't be where it is.
Yes they are willing to do things differently but willing to do something involves knowing how to do it. Nigerians just don't know. Here's a scenario that sums up the Nigerian condition.

A danfo driver is stopped by the police at a checkpoint demanding for 20 naira bribe. The driver refuses to the ire of the bus occupants. The occupants of the bus starts urging the driver to "settle am abeg make we go". Abi I lie? Does that sound like a people who want to do things differently?
