Please Gurus in the house can anyone help direct me on where to buy an ubuntu Linux cd. I bought an acer laptop with linpus Linux OS, turned out to be just a boot up OS, after much googling it turned out to be quite a common problem and I found out its easier to install another distros so I choose to go with ubuntu Linux. The problem now is I don't know where I can get a CD, only info I found is how to download it and I don't have a system that I can do that with. Guys please I need your help.

@chrylich is right. Get a window CD and create a live usb stick. If you are in Lagos or Ibadan. U can get a ubuntu live usb stick from me free ni o lol

There is no system with windows10 preinstalled that can't handle simple stuff like virtualization. Windows10 isn't OS that run on "low end pc" whatever that means.

OP has a valid point too. I got married at 38. I understand the feeling. But I blame myself. The problem most of us have is we sometimes miss the right person at the right age. No particular person is a destined right person. The moment you see certain qualities that make that individual right. But we always feel we can get someone better in the end though we may actually settle for less( regarding marrying a Very gorgeous and beautiful lady for guys and a wealthy and handsome guy for ladies).
Money and beauty isn't a guarantee for peace of mind. I can say my wife may not be as pretty as the ladies I dated but she remains my best because am with the best team mate and partner, someone that has my back, ready to build with me.
If you find a good person in time marry early, it has more benefits.

Absolutely Absolutely!!!! That's d point. Missing ur chances when they come. This happened to me in 400level. A brilliant virgin and well-mannered 23yo girl at that time. A system with windows8 preinstalled is a good hardware with capability for virtualization. U can't lose ur license that way. Hardware are cheap these days.

I will give you one reason why dual boot rather than use vms: performance, shared resources. Especially if your hardware is not that powerful. Imagine using a vm on a celeron processor or atom, or if you have limited ram. Not everyone can afford the latest/most powerful hardware. Does that mean the person has to suffer horrible performance because he wants to try out a new os?

Compare to the advantage of havin access to several hardwares/OSs at the same time? And by the way, how much is this hardware you are talking? Of what use is celeron processor to windows 8 or windows 10? Except you are using Linux where hardware is not a big issue. (excluding redhat)

Partitioning is even easier now especially with standard partitions or LVMs. I suggest you go for vmware. But if you are the type with appetite for problematic issues , virtualbox is the way.

I just don't understand why people keep talking about dual boot when there are free virtual machines out there. And for those having problems with dual booting, just know that if your machine's firmware is UEFI, probably preinstalled with legacy OS, u can as well forget about successful dual booting, thanks to the Microsoft jealousy
