Phones › Re: Nokia Introduces C6, C7 And E7: Nokia Strikes Back! by Bawss1(m): 9:09am On Sep 17, 2010 |
tall4real: People People People why are you hating on Nokia First some argue that Nokia is too reliant on Symbian but remember if i am not mistaken the Symbian brought multi-tasking to us as we know it today and besides not only Nokia uses Symbian (it is only that they made it popular) Sony Ericsson also make use of the Symbian platform. Besides Apple is developing on their i phone OS, Google on Andriod for HTC,Samsung; as also Nokia is developing on Symbian hence the emergence of Symbian ^3 Secondly, software and third party application development is better and easier to create on the symbian platfotm. There are an array of apps on the symbian platform. In other words it allows for easy software development. Thirdly, most of the advocates of I phone, Apple as we all know is very stingy. It didn't allow Adobe to create a platform for flash content on its i phone, you can't send files through bluetooth, you have to buy almost all apps, can't use your I phone to sync without i tunes. Although it still has it perks like the retina display and the display, music player etc. Besides the phone makers you are saying are better than Nokia pretty much make phones for high end users. In conclusion what am saying is that other phone makers are superb are good in their own respect (i even love the I phone) but we should not be too quick to dismiss Nokia or symbian as failed.Besides Nokia is still the largest phone maker by market share. texazzpete: You must still be living in 2006. For software and apps, iOS and Android absolutely kill Symbian these days. We're talking about modern apps, not those old .sis files you Nokia people cling to. Also, there are a large number of free apps on the Apple AppStore, many of them really good. So you aren't forced to buy all your apps. Most downloads from the AppStore are for free apps.
I beg to differ. The N8 and E7 are top tier Nokia handsets. MeeGo will be the promised land some day, but for now those phones will be the flagship consumer and business phones for Nokia. TP already said what I wanted to say. |

Nokia needs to do some serious work on that Symbian OS if they want to catch up with the competition. |

Wish you had installed the hack. While this hack does appear enticing I'm concerned about Sony's reaction in future firmware updates. I mean I don't want my console locked or anything like that. I'll be watching this to see how this plays out. |

mutter: Answer Should the man risk his mothers death, because a senseless woman is ready to pack out with the children. Did the Shepard not leave 99 in search of one. A woman like that is she a role model for the kids. If you can answer these questions you have the answer to your question. The analogy of the Shepard should not be misunderstood. It is not like the Shepard left the 99 sheep in a place of danger or where they could be harmed when he went looking for the missing one. . . Besides applying it in this context is a complete fail. No right thinking person will endorse the line that Mutter is towing here. |

lao: Many graduates today in Nigeria are pampered by their parents. Most of them are not told the realities of life. In Nigeria, it is a norm that after school, a job is waiting for you somewhere. You expect your parent, aunt, uncle or someone you know to fix you up one way or another. What are you talking about sir? If what you say is true then how can you explain the thousands young people who are unemployed in this country? |

valacious: Starcomms is doing this thing, and they arent making much noise about it, mtn is making so much money from naija, i repeat so much money, they arent even listed on our stock exchange, that shows that they are financially independent, it doesnt cost Mtn a dime to throw open their lines on a weekend at a simple cost of N100 to d caller, and to all lines, not just to one best friend, when u now wish to several friends then u start paying N100 bucks to several ppl and the other friends too pay, haba that isnt fair, emptyN. Gaming › Re: Brand New Tear Rubber Newly Released Ps3 Game Cds For Sale by Bawss1(m): 10:29am On Aug 03, 2010 |
playmode: @adec I am a 30 year old Nigerian who has been residing in South Africa for a couple of years now. I currently own and run a Video Games Store in the CBD of Johannesburg. My store consist of a Video Game's arcade section, A video game repair section and a sales section. I am a self trained Playstation3, Xbox 360 and Wii technician.
In the video Game's arcade section, customers can come and play their favourite game titles on any of my 10 consoles connected to full 10 HDTVs. We charge them per hour for each game they choose to play. I currently have 5 pS3s and 5 Xbox 360 consoles in the arcade section.
In the Repair section i do the following:
Repair 3 Red light Xbox 360s(RROD) Repair Xbox 360 E70 errors Repair Xbox360 blank picture errors Replace Ps3s faulty lens Chip / Flash Xbox 360s consoles to play copied games Chip Nintendo wii to play copied games
In the sales section ,i sell copied Xbox 360 games and copied Wii games. I also sell video games accessories in this section like battery packs, power adaptors, av cables e.t.c ____________________________________________________________ ___________________
The reason i have created this topic is because i will like to relocate back to Nigeria, I have here in SA for a while and i really miss home. I want to come back home to settle down with my family and establish my business in Lagos. I know how people love video games in Nigeria and i also know how expensive these video games have become.
I feel that i may be able to contribute something positive to the country and the youths if i establish my business there. From what i have gathered so far ,there is no one in Lagos who repairs Xbox 360s ( i may be mistaken but that is what i have heard from my relatives). My business can benefit video game loving Nigerians because here in South Africa i am able to source second hand video game consoles which are in good condition and resell them in Nigeria at reasonable prices. Another plus is my ability to make copied games. The cost of an original Xbox game range from $60 to $100 but i can make a copy of those games for a mere $5 or less. This will really benefit Nigerians who are struggling to buy one single game.
Like i mentioned above i have been out of the country for a while and i need the professional input of people on the ground in Nigeria. Please advice and tell me if it wise for me to establish this type of business in Lagos or if i should remain in SA.I have attached a picture to give you an idea of what my business is like. I will also like the good people of Nairaland to suggest to me which areas of Lagos my business will thrive in.
P.S How much does your PS3 games sell for in Nigeria ? email me at playmodeza@gmail.com You can conveniently start your own thread too. |
