Abol4luv: Can someone in the UK apply on my behalf using his proof of address in the UK as I do not have proof of address in nija cuz of the way the system is? I intend giving a letter of authorization, int passport and passport photographs? quote author=Feygbe post=59874911]
Yes your spouse also needs PCC. You will have to apply yourself but you can request that your report be delivered to your friend's UK address. You would need to provide 2 current proof of address ( not your address in the uk) I used two different bank letters statements and then you would need your passport and passport photograph. You will also need to provide your address history for the last 10 years . Visit the website and follow instructions. Goodluck. |

elfmann: 3monhs is written on but in reality, for immigration purposes, it is valid for 12months.
Type in PCC US immigration.. Canada being d 51st state won't be different. Please there's no need to take such risks when all it will cost you is time and money. Please go by what is written on the PCC which is 3 months. IRCC is not smiling nowadays and you don't want your application refused for something you could have done better . All the best in what ever you decide. |

Kontagious: Yooku's point is valid, you get a 12 points addition with the increased band regardless if you're married or not though max for married applicant stays at 128 point.
Difference between LRSW of 8777 and 8.5,8,7.5,7.5 is 12 point regardless of your marital status.
@ Yooku, 8777 is usually encouraged as anything short of that technically renders the result useless, even by 0.5 in just one component takes off 50 - 60 points. I never said it wasn't.. .. you've only repeated what I said. |

Yooku: I had wanted to make a post concerning the maximum points obtainable from IELTS for language skills. We mostly recommend for people to get a minimum 8777 in the LRWS. I was playing with the CRS tool for a friend and the results seem to support this 8777 asa being the safe threshold for English skills above 124 with maximum being 136. To start off, the CRS does not give absolute scores for some of the sections so in trying to get as close to 8777 the below is what results. That might contribute for a little difference in the expected results.
Listening - 8.0 Reading - 7.0 - 7.5 Speaking - 7.0 Writing - 7.0
This above combination gives 124 points for English Language skills which is not the maximum points obtainable
When your Listening is bumped up to 8.5 - 9.0 as below, you get 127 points....still not the max points available
Listening - 8.5 - 9.0 Reading - 7.0 - 7.5 Speaking - 7.0 Writing - 7.0
From the minimum 8777 in LRWS as recommended here the points increase by about 3 points for every 0.5 increment in scores for each section. So you might want to analyze your test results to see if you can get some extra 3 or 6 points for the 0.5 increase to be obtained from going in for EOR or retaking the IELTS.
Max points of 136 is obtained from getting the below score ranges
Listening - 8.5 - 9.0 Reading - 8.0 - 9.0 Speaking - 7.5 - 9.0 Writing - 7.5 - 9.0
So in conclusion, to max out your 136 IELTS points any test taker should seek the below matrix at a minimum or better.
Listening - 8.5 Reading - 8.0 Speaking - 7.5 Writing - 7.5
My 2 kobo....Na cochtrane e dey do me so. May you not go through bigfido's wahala for IELTS in Jesus' name!!! This should be for single applicants as the max you can get for married applicant is 128 perhaps if your spouse writes you'll get the extra 20 points. If not max with the above score is 128 points. |

Canadianfly: For those who did FBI PCC, when does the 12 weeks start? From the day they receive your application or the day your CCard is charged?
cc: bbaby84 12 weeks begin from when they receive it. ( its actually 10- 12 weeks) Once your card has been charged, expect to receive your report from 3 days - 2 weeks after that ( depending on USPS). Has your card been charged? |

Saintp: I read on hellofax that it is only free for 5 pages. But if you are faxing all the required docs to IQAS, it exceeds 5 pages. For example the signed application document alone is 3 pages, then put degree certificate, checklist, ID and payment receipt shoots it up 7 pages. I'm confused , i don't know if there is something I'm not doing right. Why don't you merge all documents and then send. |

nairacrusader: A very good morning to you guys
i haven't been sleeping these days as I do not know how I and DH will go about this process. A brief history of what we have done so far....
1- We have both written IELTS...DH had 9, 8.5,8.5,8.5 while i had 7, 5.5,5.5,5.5 ( I intend to apply for a re-mark though)
2- Education.....DH has Bachelors degree, while I have both bachelors and Masters from the UK
3-Do we send only certificates or transcripts to WES? Either way everything is gonna be sent through our different universities
4- Employment- Hubby works for an oil company and has more than 5 years professional experience, while I have more than 3 years UK working experience but I came back to Nigeria in 2015, and i only just got a part-time job in an admin office in a local govt council here in Lagos.
5- Can we start our application process if DH is the principal applicant? Or do i need to write IELTS again for better points for us?
We intend applying this weekend....we dont want to make any errors whatsoever...please I will need you guys help....any advise would be welcomed...
I don't know why i am scared though....but i am.
God Bless you all and grants all your heart's desires.... Thank you again. It's anxiety that's making you scared. A lot of us here can relate as we put so much into this journey. Mg advise is to first check your crs scores with hubby's IELTS, degree and years of experience. The mast draw was 433. However, you can redo your IELTS as you'll get a higher score with your master's. The work experience you have though is it in the eligible NOC? 0 A or B? Let's know how you get on. Best wishes. |

DatechMan: Hello fam, My ECA landed today.
The DOB quoted on the report is the DOB on the transcript. The DOB on my international passport is different.
Please elders, how do you suggest I resolve this? Did the school make a mistake? Or is there a reason you have conflicting DOBs? Perhaps the elders should truly come and advise. This one is out of my league. Congrats on the ECA! |
Not sure what exactly was the problem but i did the following;
1. updated OND as two yr diploma 2. updated HND as three year diploma or more (Note: WES acesssed this as three years diploma and one year post graduate certificate) 3. Changed Funding from 12300 to 15000
You better put POF at 13000 o unless you can put your money where your mouth is. |
