You mean what would be the Worlds fate. Windows powers 95% of PC's, there is a Windows machine in every home.
Simply put, its not gonna happen.

I'm really happy about the XobotOS library. It is left for the community to pick it up and run with it; personally, it is going to be of immense benefit to me.
I wonder if it will make some .NET GUI portable to the Android platform. .NET GUI tools tend to be much better than anything else out there.

xterra2: Well I want users who want to write android app to use java, by force by force
Anyway, this doesn't make c# better than java
Java all the way
I think this argument only takes place in 9ja these days. Lol!
C# has risen from being a better Java to becoming the defacto standard for programming languages, Java will never catch up - Oracle is more interested in hounding people over patents.

Anyway, every man has his favourite weapon.
Politics › Re: PEACE Or CRISIS - No NIGERIAN Is Fit To Govern The Country! by Beaf: 11:25pm On Jul 10, 2012
UK Bobo: If Nigerians could be offered the same lack of leadership, crisis, lack of power, bad roads, tribal clashes that has resulted from Nigerian leadership... or an International management team to run all corridors of power (to provide light), working roads, a responsive and sensitive police force, functioning public health sector, etc... which occurs in countries like Norway, South Korea etc...

What would you choose between and why?
Our problem is not down to a simplistic choice (which by the way, is demeaning).

Our problem is due to a faulty political structure that was set up by winners of the civil war to exploit the resources of the country for personal benefit. Just like your native UK, it is a unitary system, but imagine a situation where every industry in the UK is run down, because some feel it is easier to make a sloven billion or two from North Sea oil blocks in a life of sleaze and extortion enforced with state terror.
They grab you by the balls and the nation by the jugular; they actively work to entrench chaos, because the ability to organise is the ability develop and the ability to resist.

In a normal country, no one would even dream to exist as an evil parasite on their own people. For this, we blame Lugard, an evil being who brought strange bed fellows together for reasons of extortion, without as much as getting them to sign a contract of belonging.

I've posted a rather simplistic summary of our problems in reply to your rather simplistic suggestion. Regardless of how simple, our problems can be summed in a single word, "organisation." That single word is all we need and that state of existence will never be acquired until all sides sign up to a contract of belonging and nationhood; that can only come through a national conference.

From another thread...

Beaf: This is an example false prophesy:

The coming Together of the Sons of Turmoil
Now showing in all cinema's. Doh!

"I will continue to show openly and inside me the total commitment to the Sharia movement that is sweeping all over Nigeria," Buhari said, quoted in press reports.

"God willing, we will not stop the agitation for the total implementation of the Sharia in the country,"
- Gen. Buhari

Revealing a chilling prophetic vision, Bakare said: "Neither Buhari nor IBB nor Obasanjo nor Atiku will be part of the new Nigeria. They are part of the old that has decayed and is still decaying. The new is coming forth. It is the counsel of the Lord that shall stand in this nation. Until the sons of turmoil destroy themselves, this nation will not know peace."
- "Pastor" Tunde Bakare

https://www.nairaland.com/597949/now-cinema-near-sons-turmoil

What did Tunde Bakare do next, after claiming to have heard from the Spirit of God? He joined Buhari's political camp! shocked
Tunde Bakare is a false prophet and a demon.
cool

“Let me tell you the truth by the spirit of God, neither (President Olusegun Obasanjo), OBJ, Atiku (Abubakar), IBB and this tall one, (Muhammadu) Buhari are part of the new. They are part of the old that is decaying. That old one is passing away. The new is emerging and these ones are not part of that new.”

- Tunde Bakare

What did Tunde Bakare do after this? He joined Buhari!
Is he not mocking the Spirit of God?

The man is a false prophet who steals from the poor and weak.

Politics › Re: I’ll Fish Out Subsidy Thieves In A Week - Ribadu by Beaf: 10:23pm On Jul 10, 2012
Sky Blue: Abeg sing another story. How many cases were thrown out due directly or indirectly to poorly organised litigation? That man's tenure was just media hyping. His cling to fame be say Ibori give am money ein no take. At least with the corrupt and complicit Waziri tenure we saw Bode George serve jail time. With Ribadu, apart from Alam's suspended jail sentence and bearing in mind all the noise, what did we see? That man might have done more damage than good. We still have Odilli and his restraining order on the EFCC even after all the dirt they collected on the crook of a man.

P.S. The media shouts "corrupt governors" all the time, so since when did that even become achievement. I can't even believe you said that. Shocking!!
Everything you have stated is the fault of the judiciary; eg the failure to try Ibori despite the EFCC boss of the time pulling all stops. The example of Odili obtaining an injunction against the EFCC is not Ribadu's fault either, the man was not the judge in the case.

We Nigerians have a bad habit of wrongly blaming the most visible person in authority, without attempting to understand where responsibilities lie. Thats just plain wrong.

Maybe what we actually need is upright an ex-police officer like Ribadu to go after the juditiary. He has enough scores to settle to make a good job of it. Lol!

By the way, the media screaming "corrupt governor" is a completely different kettle of fish from someone in govt saying those words.
Politics › Re: I’ll Fish Out Subsidy Thieves In A Week - Ribadu by Beaf: 10:02pm On Jul 10, 2012
Sky Blue: O boy forget that hype abeg. What "track record"? Nigerians and collective amnesia. Go and do your research and come back and post names of five high profile people that spent time in jail as a result of EFCC during Ribadu's tenure. Don't forget that this is a guy that told us 35 of the 36 state governors were thieves. Go on, paste the names of his "victims". I dare you! Na for mouth?

We need more quiet achievers.
It takes a man with real horns to proclaim that 35 of 36 governors are thieves, I doubt you know anyone that can do it.

You cannot blame Ribadu for the fact that not many went to jail. The man doesn't run the judiciary which does trials and convictions.
If any section of Nigeria is worse than the police (and the police are demons), its the judiciary.

Yes, we know his own report is late, but everyone knows that Nigeria's petroleum sector is like a den of seven headed black mamba's; its not the sort of thing you unravel in a day; we know too that 7 days is quite an exageration.

however, Ribadu is probing the petroleum sector, so he might have a clue or two about what is wrong. Maybe GEJ should bend his ear to what the gentleman has to say.

Subsidy Probe - Panic As FG Finally Moves Against Oil Thieves

...

The development came just as some stakeholders have expressed divergent views on the matter. Chief executive officer of Financial Derivatives Company Mr. Bismarck Rewane, said the decision by the federal government would have sent jitters to the oil industry, particularly the downstream sector.
Relevant Links

He said the industry would be wondering who will be hit or not, saying, however, that, "it is a different ball game whether or not the government will be faithful to its words. We have to wait and see. The government must be given the benefit of doubt".

Spokesman of Oando Plc, Mr. Odion Alenba, said government should go ahead and prosecute whoever is indicted in the shaddy oil deals.

But the spokesman of NIPCO, Mr. Toafik Lawal, said there is the need for the federal government to put into consideration the technicalities in the oil industry before saying that firms or individuals are guilty.

The AGF further said: "The issue of the report was not discussed as an issue, but assurances were given that as soon as the EFCC finishes its assignment, which is very soon, you will begin to see prosecution probably in the next one week."

This is coming just as President Goodluck Jonathan yesterday held a crucial meeting with heads of the other two arms of government, including Senate president David Mark; Speaker of the House, Alhaji Aminu Tambuwal; and the chief justice of Nigeria, Justice Dahiru Musdapher, to mull the way forward on the war against corruption.

The AGF said: "We will begin to prosecute, because the EFCC has gone very far. So, Nigerians should be rest assured that this is not an issue that will be swept under the carpet. We have gone this far because we want a proper and painstaking investigation done so that when we charge people to court there will be no lapses or loopholes for lawyers to explore."

Adoke also admitted that the meeting was to review strategy on fighting corruption. "Yes, we are coming out with a national strategy on the fight against corruption, and that strategy will involve the three arms of government," he stated.

Also speaking, Senate leader Victor Ndoma Egba, who described the meeting as one aimed towards tackling corruption in the country head-on-also noted that President Jonathan was very worried over the incidence of corruption in the country.

Ndoma Egba said: "The president's initiative is unprecedented - getting the three arms of government to sit in one meeting and the subject matter of discussion was the issue of corruption and how the three arms could work together to stem the worrying incident of corruption in our polity. We discussed at length, got insight from each arm of government, and we will meet again to review the issues that arose from today's meeting and on the way forward.

"Well, the president is obviously worried about the incidence of corruption, and, from the discussions we had, all the arms of government are indeed worried about the incidence of corruption in our society. And we looked at the challenges we are facing in the fight against corruption; some of the issues are constitutional.

"The National Assembly will take another look at these issues. The judiciary also gave its own insight into the constraints. All of these will be addressed. The issue of funding of the agencies especially the EFCC and the ICPC was also discussed, all of these issues will be addressed."

Also present at the meeting from the executive's side were the vice president, secretary to government of the federation, the head of service, Central Bank governor, chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the chairman of the Independent Corrupt Practices and other Related Offences Commission (ICPC).

From the legislative arm of government were the House of Representatives leader, the chairman of the Senate Committee on Drugs, Narcotics and Financial Crimes and his counterpart from the House of Representatives.

The acting president of the Court of Appeal, the chief judges of the FCT, Lagos, Kaduna and Anambra, states were also present at the meeting.
