@OAMJ and Jarus. Can you guys , ASAP, look into why my original user name , Gbawe, was banned on this thread by your so-called anti spam bot : https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-735117.0.html This is the second time this has happened. I always provide links to any article supplied so what on earth is going on? How is your anti spam set to be so erroneous ? Furthermore, why does it take you guys so long to un-ban those unfairly snared by this silly spam bot? I have been banned for a few days now and would ordinarily leave issues as they are because I don't believe in the multiple account crap but I hate autocratic behavior . I think it is ridiculous, highly inefficient and very unfair that there is no way for those banned unfairly to contact you mods or the admin , minus using a second alias, to alert you of a ban against their user name when they did nothing wrong. To compound issues, you guys seem happy for folks to remain banned for days when the mistake is entirely yours !!!! If your spam bot bans folks unfairly , the least you guys can do is ensures they are unbanned ASAP . You should , if possible, proactively seek to redefine the parameters your spam bot is configured with. You should add an option to enable users to contact mods or admin . The best discussion website have those features and one has to wonder why Nairaland is not interested in aspiring to that status.
Lol! All hail the spam bot! ![]() |
^ Just the same way you weren't smart enough to pick up the meaning of a simple message is the same way you missed the fact that Education as a whole is getting a boost with increased attention and a vastly increased budget. But, you might not even understand the importance of education sha. ![]() Its such a damn simple message too. The words are not even that many! maclatunji: |
abiolak:Daft. Some types of people might witness the World turn purple and still claim there has been no change. |
Eko Ile:The last sentence is what makes you a fool. The same goes for your fellow ethnically bigoted bottom feeders. Suddenly the news is ok and your primitive attitude / jealousy dissolve, because a plant will be built in Lagos? This is why some people regret having their kids. |
The knowledge economy is a term that refers either to an economy of knowledge focused on the production and management of knowledge in the frame of economic constraints, or to a knowledge-based economy. In the second meaning, more frequently used, it refers to the use of knowledge technologies (such as knowledge engineering and knowledge management) to produce economic benefits as well as job creation. The phrase was popularized by Peter Drucker as the title of Chapter 12 in his book The Age of Discontinuity, And, with a footnote in the text, Drucker attributes the phrase to economist Fritz Machlup.[1]http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Knowledge_economy |
PeeDaVinci:You are a donkey who doesn't know the meaning of the term, knowledge based; an ape who couldn't be bothered to find out, but could rush to rain insults. Like the rest of the screamers, you are just a dunce who is happy to remain a dunce. Find out the meaning of the term, knowledge based, then come back and talk. Fool. |
PeeDaVinci:These are the words of one who obviously has no respect for his parents. A dog who could very easily be imagined as a thief or other lowlife trash. Its no surprise that his type (like the OP) totally fail to grasp the simplest and most profound of messages. Fools can't be helped. |
This is good news indeed. It is a known fact that boko haram consists of top generals, police officers and intelligence folk who are trapped by their unfortunate "born to rule" culture. That man should face the firing squad if found guilty, not a single one of the lives of those taken in the explosions is cheap. |
^ Poor thing! You will soon blow up defending a scoundrel. I wonder if anybody has done the math on how much he has spent galivanting to globe, while relegating his state to only three days of his time per month? LOLZZZ!!!! Of course, he is waiting for the dry season to build a couple of Chinese bushpaths. We know his type, all air to deserve the less intelligent. What a pity! |
When will he die like he killed Vatsa and Dele Giwa? |
I am sure wiser folk are strategising, consulting and communicating to see how they can fit in. Most of the dissenter on this thread are just dumb and are making the usual animal noises they are known for. The fact is, there is a project on the ground, the first of several that would dramatically change the fortunes of the average person, so that we begin to actually see jobs being created each time we are told our economy has grown 8%. The reason there were no commensurate jobs in the past, is that all of the money went to Shell and one or two alhaji's. For the first time in Nigeria, the money from oil is actually going to benefit Nigerians. We are taking pride of ownership in our oil industry, not hanging about, recieving brown envelopes from Shell and doing fuckall for the people. Today you can also see an oil rig at Apapa, cos for the first time in our 50 year history, we are servicing the damn things right here in Nigeria; not waiting as second class people for oyibo's to do it for us. There is actually a brand new pride in being Nigerian. There will always be bad winshes who cannot see beyond, section, ethnicity and religion. Among every 12 there is a Judas and a couple of bad monkeymen, but the average Nigerian stands tall as a Judas destroyer and a bad monkey smasher. We be eating you raw! Lol! |

The party argued in a statement on Tuesday by its National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, that scrapping the accounts and allocating the LGs’ share of the Federation Account directly to them would amount to making the councils federating units. Those ACN louts don't know the definition of true federalism. To the clown, true federalism means getting even more money from Abuja, rather than being empowered to generate IGR. They want to keep sharing lump sums at state level straight into their greasy pockets. Nigeria needs to change, we can't go on with the crude unitary system the military handed us. It is a system that generates corruption and dooes nothing for the man on the street. In a country like the UK, it is LG's that maintain the roads that run through them, collect certain taxes from businesses, plan their economies and generate jobs. The poorest LG in the UK is richer and more technologically advanced than any Nigerian state; and they serve their people diligently, because the people know them; there is accountability. They know where they live and who their families are, there is no Abuja to vanish into while delivering fuckall to the electorate. This is a pic of the Deptford power station that produces 158MW, it is overseen by one of Londons poorest LG's: https://www.sciencephoto.com/image/339149/large/T1000059-Refuse_burning_power_station-SPL.jpg |

$16b petrochemical, fertiliser plants to boost Delta economy By Harris-Okon Emmanuel Correspondent, Warri Delta State is beginning to witness a clement investments climate, many thanks to Abuja amnesty programme, which ended militancy in the oil-rich, but crisis-scarred Niger Delta region. During the era of ethnic conflagration which engulfed Delta State, which pundits described as the years of the locust, many businesses closed shop and relocated to a safe haven in other parts of the region. Now, a new dawn has emerged and credits must be given to Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan, who has worked assiduously to restore peace and security to the once volatile state. Since, he mounted the rein of governance in 2007, the University of Benin-trained medical doctor, has pursued his three-point agenda of human capital, infrastructure developments, and peace and security with verve. Barring any unforeseen contingency, works on the petrochemical and fertiliser companies, two gigantic projects, valued at well over $16 billions are to start in earnest. All the loose ends have been tight in the deals, it was learnt. From Saudi Arabia, is coming Xenel group, described as one of the leading petrochemical player in the world and particularly in Saudi Arabia, and the firm is expected to build 1.3 million tones uranium, polytonal, polypropylene plant in the state in concert with Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) and other private investors. Sunday Independent gathered this investment is one of the biggest of its kind in Africa. “This will mark the beginning of industrial revolution not only in Delta State but for Nigeria that will anchor on petrochemical, explained Executive Director, NNPC, Dr. David Ige. Also Nagarjuna from southern India, regarded as one of India’s leading agro-processing companies in India, is to build three fertiliser plants in the state, with each fertiliser plant having a capacity of 1.3 million tones per annum, in addition to those fertiliser plants, the company will build blending plants across the country including Delta State. Accordingly, the Federal Government has allocated Koko Free Trade Zone through NODSRA for these investments. “And expectation going forward now is that over the next few weeks, NNPC in conjunction with the state government and investor will move in top gear and will start with all the engineering works leading on to the commencement of construction over the next few months. And again if this is concluded, I can say almost say goodbye to poverty in Delta State because the economy of the state will be completely transformed and we are very assured of the peace and security and of the support of the people of Koko because today we met the Council of Chiefs and the traditional rulers there, a very warm reception by the youth leaders and everybody. And we believe that this is testament of the kind of peace and security that is going to underpin this investment in Delta State,’’ Ige said. These are indeed tantalising prospects for the people of Delta State and nobody is happier than the Uduaghan, who is bent on etching his name on the sand of time, when the curtain is drawn on his tenure as the state executive officer.” The projects are coming on the heels of the completion of the Asaba International Airport, described recently by the Aviation Minister, Stella Oduah, as a model and of international standard, worthy of emulation by other states. The core investors accompanied by top officials of Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Chevron, Nigeria Export Processing Zone Authority, among other stakeholders, visited the state penultimate week to assess support facilities and also toured the sites of the projects. Uduaghan who hosted the visitors in Government House, Annex, Warri, after their assessment of facilities in the state, pledged mouth-watering incentives to enable the projects get off the ground , underlining both the federal and state governments’ determination to ensure the dreams come to fruition. While underscoring the immense benefits to be derived from the two huge projects, the governor commended the Federal Government for choice of location, suing for all hands to be on deck as the future is rosy. “When the plants are completed, they will employ many thousands of persons from Delta State. So we have a lot of benefits from it and there are several industries that will spring up from these plants. Industries that will utilise the by-products of these plants, and industries that will make parts for these plants will also benefit. So with the cooperation of every Deltan and everyone around, the future is very bright,’’ he said. The investors, Xenel group of Saudi Arabia and Najarguna group from India, which would handle the petrochemical and fertiliser plants are very excited about the prospect and are raring to go. Leader of the Xenel group’s delegation, Matouq Jannah, bared his mind, stressing the importance of having a petrochemical firm in the state. Hear him: “We are happy to be have been part to such a programme which has been networked in Saudi Arabia in the late 70s and we have seen the proper development of infrastructure and proper planning for the industrialisation structure of the nation which is very important. We have seen in Saudi Arabia that people were laughing at us at that time of saying Saudi want to convert gas into plastic. Today it is one of the largest cities in the world. Yarbrough is one of the advanced industrial cities in the world and nobody can tell me that Delta State cannot be number three. “I believe that with what we have and working with the NNPC, the state, the Nigerian government, the Nigerian people, I see a great responsibility coming into Delta state for the whole of Nigerian and not only for themselves. The petrochemical products is for the 150 million Nigerians. The downstream industries that are going to be created across Nigeria, not Delta State alone, will be massive in the employment of people. That is why it is very important for our activities that as well for self-help industries that are going to serve as the fertiliser, the gas sector, the power sector and so on, we hope that the state develop such sectors to provide these services for the next future for the technical activities in Delta State and as well to make it easier to grow horizontally across Nigeria. We believe that programme is attainable and with the will of everybody working together the goal can be achieved.’’ His counterpart from Nagarjuna group, Kovvuri Dharudu, shared similar sentiment, expressing pleasure to be part of the industrial revolution in the state, pledging to offer technical expertise on not only reducing urea but also in revitalising the agricultural sectors. According to him, the investment would further strengthen the bilateral ties between Nigeria and India. Said he: “Our intention is not only just to reduce urea, we also have plan to give our experiences and technology in the agric sector. As you know Nigeria, I believe has potentials and with no time it can be converted into a food-exporting country. And we know that everybody knows that food security is what people are looking and Nigeria has the natural resources which can be used to maintain these facilities. “Fertiliser production using gas is the next one graduating into the gas industry than any other industry. So we intend to come into Nigeria with a plan to expand the fertiliser production and become a net exporter of fertiliser. We have also planned to bring plastic-blending plants all over Nigeria. We hope that with the support that the NNPC, the state, and Federal Government, we believe that this is going to be a good partnership between Nigeria and India.’’ Many indigenous oil and gas firms have shown interest to be part of the success story and among them is the Sahara Energy, pledging to put in unalloyed efforts and resources to ensure that the investments are realised. Representative of Sahara Energy, James Ogungbemi said: “As a local and indigenous oil and gas company, I felt it necessary to participate in this programme to ensure local participation in the value change of going from our natural reform gas to the much needed product gas. Our friends and investors from Saudi Arabia and India are planning to bring into Nigeria to produce petrochemical gas will help the industrialisation of the teeming Nigerians or Nigerian small-scale industries as well as to produce fertiliser that will aid food programmes of the government. “We are very enthusiastic to put in all our efforts and resource to ensure the success of the central-processing facility that will provide the much- needed raw materials for the petrochemical and fertiliser plant. We assure you very much sir that we shall not relent in our effort to make sure that this project comes to a fruitful conclusion. Thank you very much.’’ Also speaking, Alhaji Iya Pate of Nigeria Export Processing Zone Authority, lauded the Federal Government for putting the companies in the region, describing government’s decision as well thought out, which would further create more economic opportunities for the populace and in the main drives economic growth. In his remarks, a member representing Warri Federal Constituency, at the National Assembly, Daniel Reyenieju, while thanking the investors for coming to the state to invest, he gave the assurance that there would be a conducive environment for the investments to thrive. “We will create the enabling environment for you to actualise your dream of building the plants,” he said. http://www.independentngonline.com/DailyIndependent/Article.aspx?id=38855 |
Hertsnite:Yes I do. The guy is saying that you are a dunce whose head has migrated into your dusty, rusty, scraggy, hairy, smelly arse. |
^ You will find my comment on that story. I'm not a bigot like you, and Uduaghan isn't living in Lagos, disturbing Fashola and waiting for dry season before going back to Delta. Ok? If the story is found to be true the commissioner will be removed; we don't have time to pamper anybody for sectional or bigoted reasons, thats why Delta is the 3rd most developed state in Nigeria after Lagos and Rivers. Aregbesola is bloody useless, maybe even crazy. Deal with that. LOLZ!!!! |

What a disgraceful and closed-minded position to take, there can be very few things less idiotic than such; maybe it should go in the guiness book of records if theres a section for bigotry. |
It would be useful to find out if some churches are set up specifically to launder money. |
EFCC condemns demands for huge tithes in churches By Kunle Johnson4 hours 3 minutes ago The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Tuesday in Calabar tasked religious leaders to show more concern about sources of huge tithes received from members of the congregation, if the war against corruption is to succeed in the country. Chairman of the anti-graft agency, Mrs. Farida Warizi, who gave this charge at a one-day interactive seminar on economic and financial crimes for state senior executives in Cross River State, said it has become the practise for corrupt government officials and dubious members of the public to pay huge sums as tithes to religious bodies without being asked the source of the wealth. Waziri, who was represented at the seminar by the Head, Strategy and Reorientation, EFCC, Mr. Gabriel Aduda, said religious leaders should find out if the huge funds paid by members as tithes were legitimately earned. “Prosperity must come legitimately. I feel a responsible pastor should know where the tithe of his worshiper is coming from. How and where did you make the money that you are bringing in as tithe? It is not enough for your member to bring in a huge amount and you say- God bless you, no. “Pastors should be responsible through their members (who are top government officials, members of the public) to want to know how they make money they bring to church. So, it goes beyond just preaching prosperity, they should let the people know that the religion is beyond that. For any soul to prosper it means that soul must be in right standing with the principles that God had laid down by doing the dos and refusing the don’ts,” she added. http://www.thenationonlineng.net/2011/index.php/news-update/16137-efcc-condemns-demands-for-huge-tithes-in-churches.html |
Aregbesola only chose his commissioners like a week ago after spending almost a year living in Lagos and junketting to China. Now he wants to build Chinese roads almost year after taking office. Its like comedy. The latest from the man is that he claims he wasn't elected to pay workers. I really really pity Osun state; they deserve much better. |
Ok, ogbeni means mister or whatever. Is that the reason the man won't pack from Lagos back to Osun where he is governor? Is that the reason he thinks someone else should be responsible for paying Osun state workers salaries. What sort of clown calls himself "ogbeni" and assumes his state shouldn't pay workers because it costs too much? LOLZZZZ!!!! Personally, I think ogbeni should become a one man tourist attraction. People would come from afar to see the comedy of a man claiming he wasn't elected to use 90% of his states budget for salaries, yet he won't even stay at home to set the state working and generating kudi to pay its staff. Instead, his whole focus is on Lagos where there is a performing gov. The biggest tragedy of the rascal called "ogbeni" is that while he waited almost a year to pick a set of commissioners, he was in Lagos, derailling Fashola and attempting to choose his commissioners! 9 months, no commissioners! Gov spends only 3 days a month in his state, his only plan is to "export" yams to Lagos and build a local version of oke-arin market! Unu go wound o! ![]() . . .Yet, he can't fathom why his state spends 90% of its budget on staff wages. Maybe he should give them yams or goats instead. What a guy! Gaddem! |
A phucking disgrace. |

^ After several pages, you still cannot put cogent reasons behind your position? Its either you are mentally challenged or you have dark, ulterior motives. Its the way I and millions of others view your type. |
Demdem:Its funny how an educated person can be "critical," yet not able to lay cogent thoughts about what it is they disagree with. Shocking! It simply means you are fishing for stuff to fit on GEJ, or maybe just screaming like a dunce, cos you don't know better. As to the bolded, so I'm quite right that your income was cut by reforms to reduce systemic fraud? Lol! No one cares if your type is bitter from now until eternity. It was folk like you that vehemently opposed the likes of Allison Madueke, Barth Nnaji and Okonjo Iweala from manning the nations strategic services, because they are unbending reformers who will not subvert the system to fill a few wicked pockets. Scream dude, its music. My guy, when your type are angry and screaming themselves wretched, we know Nigeria is on the move. |
morpheus24:Maybe he was just meant to call himself a bonobo. He certainly reasons like one. |
dayokanu:Dude, the lament is about the indescribable iresponsibilty of Aregbesola. You can spend your years flapping about, looking for stuff in other parts of the country, but the last I heard, ALL other governors actually spend their time in their home states, not living in Lagos and junketting on useless "waiting for dry season" trips abroad. Other governors are actually trying to serve their states AND ARE ACTUALLY PAYING THEIR STAFF. Gedit? Whoever heard of a governor that thinks the workers his state employs are an economic burden, yet won't even stay at home to fix things? Who knows of any gov in the whole country apart from AregbeRASCAL that thinks paying workers is someone elses responsibilty. Unu make mek pesin kres wit laf o!! ![]() How ridiculous can things get? Lol! anyways, the man has already started calling himself "Ogbeni" at age 54, next thing he will be emperor (albeit one without clothes). |
The riots in the UK showed just how racist that society really is. From Sky to the BBC, to some of their professionals. Sky have made it a point of duty to only visit black areas and interview "black leaders" like Nims Obunge. None of that will be new to those who have spent time either living in the UK or ernestly studying it. The reaction of the UK establishment is one of deep shame, so they are shamelessly looking to blame the smaller guy as usual, instead of healing their society. Its funny how some can argue that the riots were a black thing; how many blacks are there in places like Salford, Gloucester, Cardiff? Even in Cambridge which is the UK's version of Silicon Valley, there was rioting. Cambridge and its surrounds are sometimes referred to as Silicon Fen, an allusion to Silicon Valley, because of the density of high-tech businesses and technology incubators that have developed on science parks around the city. Many of these parks and buildings are owned or leased by university colleges, and the companies often have been spun out of the university.[citation needed] Such companies include Abcam, CSR, ARM Limited, CamSemi, Jagex and Sinclair. Microsoft chose to locate its Microsoft Research UK offices in a University of Cambridge technology park, separate from the main Microsoft UK campus in Reading.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cambridge#Demography Of course, the black mans peril would be useless without the inputs of the usual self-hating Dugbe and Ochanja market traders who think their loudness is a substitute for wisdom and applied thought. Where would we be without the usual loud mouth that spews brash ignorance? Its easy to see that low self esteemed blacks are just as much Africa's enemy as influential, but racist whites. Rioters photographed by police in Cambridge below. They look very black, don't they? Of all the Cambridge pics, released by polise, none is black. https://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2011/08/11/article-2024811-0D6453AF00000578-922_634x286.jpg https://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2011/08/11/article-2024811-0D6453CB00000578-458_306x423.jpg https://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2011/08/11/article-2024811-0D6453B400000578-929_306x423.jpg |
Lol! We have the usual foolish screaming from the usual senselessly jibber jabbering crew! Some daft and bigoted ones are asking why I am commenting on Nigeria's most useless governor, but they will be the first to scream murder about Yerima, Ibori etc who were governors of other states. Rubbish. Aregbesola spends only 3 days a month in Osun (the rest in Lagos or abroad), and yet he is wondering why his state generates nothing and pays above the national average as wages? Damn! 3 days a month only in his state? Thats got to be an all time record, even Abacha who claimed not to ever read the news never attained that level of laziness and utter uselessness. Why can't the man just stay in the state he is meant to govern and actually get it making some money, so that he can pay the bloody minimum wage , intead of making absolutely ridiculous statements. A great part of the reason he was elected was to see to the welfare of workers, but there he is claiming he wasnt elected to pay wages. What a governor! Lol! That guy is set to overtake the likes of Barkin Zuwo for the production of official comedy. ![]() |
