Craft like this will help reform Gaddafi's crooked mind, its called bomb therapy. RIP Moammer. ![]() |
The feeling of knowing that the world watched while Gaddafi wiped out his people is more unbearable than knowing that libya is in a war/occupied due to UN intervention.
Exactly! It is so difficult to stomach how the powerful allowed the deaths of thousands of unarmed civilians. For the past few days, the mention of Obama has only brought me a sinking feeling. |
Justcash:I believe NL is mutilating the OP's link, I tried posting it too, but parts always get chopped out. Strange! blacksta:Hmmm! So, it is better for a group of empty people to waste our time? How you can defend someone who had to read the reason he was seeking election from a prepared script, is absolutely confounding. These people initially refused to campaign, unlike others who have been on the stump for weeks, meeting the people and telling them their plans and how they hope to accomplish them. Now, this lazy lot, when given free airtime and thrust on our TV screens, could only come out as 100% mediocre. No wonder they aren't campaigning. |
Who is Daniel Reyenieju? lol I wish you knew who the Itsekiri leaders were. Its like saying Alj harem has hosted a meeting in his house to dictate the interests of Kanuri people. That would be laughable, wouldn't it? You went so far to dig up some old, meaningless stuff from political jobbers. Serious people look to Itsekiri moulders of thought, like Professor Itse Sagay, J.O.S Ayomike, Prof. J.N. Omatseye, Barr. Fred Agbeyegbe; not agbero's like Reyenieju. The ND has one voice, try harder. This is Prof. Itse Sagay on true federalism, it accurately reflects the true Itsekiri position, not any cowardly ceding of bonafide Itsekiri oil bearing land, peopled by their ancestors to Ondo state: http://www.waado.org/nigerdelta/essays/resourcecontrol/sagay.html http://www.waado.org/nigerdelta/essays/resourcecontrol/Sagay2.html |
paulo882:You couldn't be more wrong, sir. I made a post previously that exactly answers your points above. Here it is again: What will it take for a president to Islamise Abuja? What are the checks and balances? There are NONE. |
SSaemoenl:You got that right, bruv. GEJ and Ribadu are much better options by miles to Buhari and his extremist views. |
“Have you noticed that anywhere there is Islam, there is desert? , I raise my hand to God and I am telling you the truth, I am not a politician. Don’t listen to anybody lying to you. God has not told me to go contest for any election. I do not belong to any party. I do not hold any card and I do not have any intention of contesting for any election”What a bigot! Nobody with such extreme views should be allowed to contest for high office. Goodness! The man is a security risk, I can paint a scenario in my minds eye of the sort of highly dangerous religiously fuelled shenanigans that will play out at Aso Rock between two extremists, in the very long shot that CPC makes it. Will there be dastardly plots to take each other out? There should be a clause in the constitution to ban anybody with extreme views from political office. |
Let Ribadu check well o! That rumour can only be coming from Tinubu's camp. lol They have the most to gain from using and dumping a good man. Tinubu's foul, putrid name has been laundered by his association with a good man like Ribadu, and so Ribadu's value has been used up, expired and fit only for the trash can. |
Presidency: I’m Still in the Race, Says Ribadu By Jaiyeola Andrews 18 Mar 2011 https://serving.thisdaylive.com/0bef99d6-acf5-4e2c-9779-8fa02ba3fcd4/assets/1803F03.Nuhu-Ribadu.jpg?maxwidth=400&maxheight=540 Contrary to rumour making the rounds that he has stepped down from the presidential race, Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) presidential candidate, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, has said that he is still much in the race. The Ribadu Adeola Campaign Organisation, in a statement Thursday, said it has recieved calls and queries from the media, friends, associates and teeming party supporters, seeking clarifications on a peddled rumour that Ribadu had stepped down from the presidential race in the April elections. According to Ribadu, "this is absolute falsehood and a propagandist campaign from our detractors and political foes afraid of the monumental rise in political stature and profile of our principal and the visible gains to our support base, from our campaign activities across the nation, since our flag off.” He said he and his running mate, Fola Adeola, remain the most generally acceptable presidential ticket that represents the general interest of the masses. Ribadu noted that their joint ticket has proven that they have the will to make positive things happen and create the change Nigerians currently desire. The ACN presidential candidate said the party is most representative of the best interest of an overwhelming majority of Nigerians, as well as the nation's champion of real and meaningful change Ribadu pointed out succintly that he has not stepped down and has never considered nor is he considering stepping down from the Presidential race. He said his party is much committed to its resolve at emancipating Nigerians from the strangle hold of bad government of the opposition party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), via our nine policy objectives of health, education, Niger Delta, infrastructure, power, job creation and industrialisation, corruption, government spending and security. http://www.thisdaylive.com/articles/presidency-i-m-still-in-the-race-says-ribadu/88038/ |
Those who have sold Nigeria to Shell and Chevron will naturally be scared. Shame on the lawmaker from Zamfara State, Sani Takori. The bill, like the Freedom of Information Bill, is dreaded by those afraid of transparency and accountability in the conduct of government business.Regardless of the stalling tactics employed, the bill must be passed for Nigeria's wider benefit, against the benefit of brown envelope takers. That bill has the capacity to increase Nigeria's income from $102billion to a whopping $687billion. Thats is a sevenfold increase, no be moi moi. Nigerian youth must be ready to take to the streets and burn the place down, if this bill is not passed. We cannot continue down our current corrupt, institutionless and planless path. https://c22.org.uk/images/riot-at-un-conference.jpg Fresh Air 2011! ![]() |
^ The ex-militants actually mentioned specific names. Deal with that. I also made a post detailing how Buhari and IBB met with some disgruntled ex-militants in secret. What could have been the purpose? Why would any peace loving Nigerian be locked in the same room as a gathering disgruntled ex-militants, holding "pat my back, I pat yours" discussions? Many things are known, but for the security of the wider country, wisdom has taken the front seat. The real aim of these people is to cause a war, and benefit financially from the ensuing chaos; because they aren't concerened with "tiny little distractions" things like justice, lives and democracy. All they care about is fleecing the nation, millions could die, they couldn't care less. Address what the ex-militants said like someone who truly cares for Nigeria would, and stop regurgitating tired old arguments and deceptions that are now worn out and meaningless. Ozin: |
It is what happens when you gather jobbers, lightweights, opportunists, "prophets" and professional name-droppers in the same room to debate Nigeria's future. I recall one of the candidates having to read up his entire reply to the question on what a Vice Presidents was. . . you would at least think that a man would know why he was running for office offhead? |
The debate that wasn’t NEXT Editorial March 16, 2011 12:57PMT These days, debates are the rave. Basking in an increasingly robust democratic space, further deepened by the fact that we seem, for once, spoilt for choice, Nigerians have aggressively sought to interrogate their leaders on their motivations for contesting public office as well as their plans. In the January governorship rerun elections for Delta State, the debate offered a rare opportunity for candidates to be engaged directly by citizens in a no-holds-barred environment, and just a few weeks ago, Lagosians were treated to another robust, substantial debate where the state governor was made to account for his stewardship while his opponents made the case for why they were better caretakers for the country's commercial capital. It gave us one of the finest soundbites from this campaign season: "It's not their age that is the problem," the governor said. "It's the age of their ideas." Many Nigerians, therefore, had great expectations for our country's first vice presidential TV debate, especially since the cast of vice presidential candidates is a colourful one that includes respected cleric Tunde Bakare, famed corporate whiz Fola Adeola, and experienced public servant John Oyegun. Also expected - until he chickened out without explanation - was former governor and now Vice President, Namadi Sambo. Unfortunately, the debate we got was neither the debate we expected nor that which we deserved - and it had little to do with the disappearance of Mr. Sambo. Save for perfunctory references to their principals being "the best candidate for president that Nigerians have," none of the debaters was able to make a solid case for why their ticket is far and above the rest the best choice for Nigeria at this time. Candidates instead turned to sweeping generalizations as they struggled to outdo themselves in offering choice words for the People's Democratic Party. If we didn't know any better, it would be easy to conclude that there are only two parties in this contest: PDP and The Others. While there is something to be said for civility and geniality, the debaters were rather too comfortable and self-satisfied and appeared in no hurry to draw sharp contrasts in ideology, mission and strategy, almost as if there was no hope that this debate would serve any useful purpose for the electorate. The debate was also frustratingly void of specifics. A question about developing our non-oil economy, for instance, got a rambling answer from Mr. Bakare that instead took Nigerians on a history lesson; and Mr. Adeola's prescription for a robust economy was for Nigerians to go on an undefined "corruption fast" - a recommendation that is both impractical and difficult to understand. Even the quality of the conversation left a lot to be desired. In one cringeworthy moment, candidates grouped women and the disabled together in yet another instance of obtuseness in correctly deconstructing issues and offering constructive ideas. Whilst the debate was disappointing, in the final analysis, we take solace in the fact that democracy is a process, and this debate is a huge step forward, being the first of its kind. It is also remarkable that the post-debate analysis in the media has put the president on the hotseat, even as he seeks every possible excuse to avoid the scrutiny that a TV debate offers. Over the next few weeks, there will be more debates, including the Broadcasting Organisation of Nigeria (BON) and the What About Us (WAU) youth debates. Our hope is that subsequent producers have paid close attention to the failings from the first and that Nigerians are finally offered a robust and engaging political debate truly worthy of our time - one that puts the feet of the candidates to the fire. Because that, after all, is the whole point of it. http://234next.com/csp/cms/sites/Next/Opinion/5683556-184/story.csp |
duduspace:You people claim I log in with multiple id's because, I batter you intellectually like a logical hurricane (which is to be expected ). People like you and 9ijaMan have nothing to add to any debate, but lies and your pathetic lobbying skills with the mods for those with better political views and higher IQ's to be banned. How pathetic can you get? The battering I dole out is so comprehensive that as soon you people spot another smart, progressive, logically agile and intellectually superior NLer; you rush off to mummy, "Beaf is coming to whop us again like a cerebrally wicked combination of Mike Tyson and the Klitschko brothers! Help us ma, we are trembling! We're gonna die!" Each time any astute NLer logs on (eg Time2Think, Ma j blige, Wesley80, Johndoe, Nsiman etc), you people try to bully them by accusing them of being the same person as Beaf. Why don't you ask the mods if thats the case? At least you can see I'm not friends with them. lol Last time I looked, such bullying was against NL rules. I don't know any of those people, but I doff my hat to them; they each possess very admirable qualities to be desired. . . .Yes, I advise you to panic since Beaf is not any of those people. Shiver, shake and quake! Pathetic cry babies. I am your sagacious nemesis. ![]() https://www.wired.com/images_blogs/photos/uncategorized/2008/04/07/nuclear1.jpg |

Eko Ile:Abeg, pick your brain from the floor. Even if you think they are PDP (they aren't), does it make them less Northern? |
OAM4J:Lol! Maybe you mean gaining ground. You are letting crowds in the North deceive you. However, we have the voices that matter in the likes of the Sultan of Sokoto, Shagari, Gowon and a host of other commanding powers in the North. Aside from that is detailed organisation on the ground in every single one of Nigeria's 770 LG's, so we can take care of the thousands of young men that haven't yet found their "true calling." ![]() On that day, e go be like film trick o! ![]() |
Northern Forum Commends Jonathan, Shekarau, Berates Buhari Andrew Oota 17 March 2011 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Abuja — The Northern Stakeholders Forum (NSF) yesterday commended the maturity so far exhibited by the presidential candidates of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and that of the All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP) in the ongoing presidential campaigns. The forum however expressed concerns over the comments of the presidential candidate of the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC), General Mohammedu Buhari and his running mate Pastor Tunde Bakare, which were aimed at causing disaffection between the north and the south. In a communiqué signed by the secretary of the forum, Dr Adamu Abdullahi, the NSF said, "We are aware that the campaign team of General Muhammadu Buhari, and his running mate, Pastor Tunde Bakare, have been trying to play the North against the South by saying that they would ensure that the North becomes the "wild wild North" should the election be rigged in the zone. "Since we expected the campaign team to disown the statement of Pastor Bakare and none was forthcoming, we have naturally assumed that he was merely echoing the thoughts of General Buhari who had also been calling for violence. The group noted that the country could have made progress democratically had Buhari and his fellow coupists had not abridged the country's democratic governance in 1983 and said it did see why the North should support the CPC presidential duo. "We wish to state affirmatively that General Buhari does not represent any progressive interest in the North. He belongs to the cabal represented by Ciroma and co. that has brought backwardness to our people," it said. The NSF went on to declare that, as the voice of the Northern elite and intelligentsia, it did not support zoning and that Malam Adamu Ciroma and his group were only working for themselves. "We wish to commend both Malam Ibrahim Shekarau and Dr Ebele Goodluck Jonathan on their campaigns. Both individuals have demonstrated maturity and decorum. These Nigerians have earned out trust and confidence that they are not after the disintegration of Nigeria. "President Jonathan has convinced us that he can be trusted with power and will protect the collective interest of Nigeria, including those of the North and South. "We wish to state affirmatively that General Buhari does not represent any progressive interest in the North. He belongs to the cabal represented by Ciroma and co that has brought backwardness to our people. http://allafrica.com/stories/printable/201103170631.html |
Nigeria: South Lost N970 Billion Property in Jos Crises - Forum 17 March 2011 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The coalition of all southerners forum in Plateau state has disclosed that their members lost no fewer than 1,654 lives in the Jos crises since 2004 and now. The forum in a communiqué read at a press conference, added that valuable p[properties worth N970 bn belonging to them was destroyed under the period in review. This forum made up of the Igbos, Yoruba and South South people through their leaders are urging the federal government to compensate them without delay because these destructions were as a result of "negligent in the discharge of its statutory duties" Reading the communiqué, Chief Richard Wayas, the President General, Igbo Community Council, they called on President Goodluck Jonathan to use his security agenda to "put a halt on the intractable killings and civil unrest" in the state. The group "assures President Goodluck Jonathan and Vice President Namadi Sambo of its unalloyed support comes April 2011 presidential polls" They further called for the immediate prosecution of all those "indicted by the report of various judicial panels of inquiry as well as the release of the white paper of the Presidential Advisory Committee" hat was headed by Chief Solomon Lar. It then commended governor Jonah Jang for recognizing the peace loving people from the zones, who, as major stakeholders, have contributed to the economic growth of the state. http://allafrica.com/stories/printable/201103170573.html |
assme:Don't mind him, he has been reciting that rubbish for months now. In the meantime, Buhari's wife is a Muslim, she even wears a veil. |
youngmonie:This is some strange logic. Why should the FG give states any money? Is there any country in the World where such is done? It is meant to be the other way round, the states should be giving the FG money for survival. Lets balme ourselves for being too lazy, rather than wait for the FG to come and feed each and every one of us. Let me tell you a little secret, Londons budget is several times the size of the Nigerian budget, and London is just a city! Of course, London pays taxes to the UK govt, and the UK govt doesn't give London a penny. Even Mexico city in a fellow developing country produces more money than the whole of Nigeria. There are certain things we really shouldn't be saying at this point in our 50 year history, cos they are bloody embarrassing. Let fashola pay his doctors and nurses, or reach some deal with them, it isn't and will never be the FG's business. Every state should try to generate enough money, so that surplus goes to the FG, it is an abberation for states to go to Abuja for money. |

assme:LOL! I guess you are right. |
GenBuhari:Did you actually read the article and check the sources? You give people a low impression of your abilities when you call accomplished and well known academics, "journalists" and "random individuals." Your post is extremely ridiculous, but maybe you are very young. Please go find out who those men and the universities quoted are. |
seguno2:Every once in a while, someone really wise drops by! You said it brilliantly! |

9ijaMan:Lol. Ask the mods how many user names I have. I'm sure I appear like 10 people to you though (maybe, even more ), thats the power of being overwhelmingly smarter than stone throwing opponents like you.You bera calm down and grow some sense, this is just a forum, we will not meet on the street and fight like animals. Grow up. |
^ Which is worse, my relatively harmless words, or someone referring to the President of Nigeria as "a kafir who is Islams worst enemy?" This is looking more ridiculous. Why not post the reason I got banned here? Its simple, thats what I asked you to do on the other thread and you couldn't; up till now, you haven't, because there is none. Now you tell me I should have reported a post I replied to, whereas it was quoted as part of my reply. Are you actually saying without anyone clicking the report button, a mod would allow posters call the President of Nigeria a "kafir who is Islams worst enemy?" lol |
^ Lol! It seems you guys dream of Beaf all the time. The elections will take place in polling booths, not on NL. You think I'm your problem, sorry, your poor candidate is your biggest problem. ![]() |
There is a lot of strange stuff going on on NL, with mods abusing their powers for God knows what reason. Last week, I was banned for absolutely no reason, it just came out of the blue, and it was a hefty 5 day ban. . . For no reason. I have challenged Mukina who did the banning to point out my offence, she has not been able to do that up till this moment. The funny thing about my ban was that a good number of ordinary forum members "mysteriously" knew about it immediately it happened. In fact someone even registered as beaf1 to post smears against me, saying since I'd been banned, discussion had become to their liking. lol Who was beaf1, a mod? Or someone who had lobbied that Beaf be banned for standing in the way of NL's Buhari project? Its easy to let such matters pass and continue with life, but I got another strange warning from Aisha today, IMHO for having the temerity to reply to a grossly inflamatory post. Please people, judge for yourselves. There are two statements below, look at them yourselves and judge with is worse. Strangely, my post has been deleted, while the inflamatory post is still up there. Check Barkono's deeply offensive words about GEJ below and check my reply, and tell me if the moderators are not being incompetent, incapable, petty, biased and power drunk. Barkono: @Beafhttps://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-624285.0.html#msg7917252 Beaf: Really? You guys will soon be looking for kafirs and Islams worst enemies among yourselves in the desert, because nobody will continue to take this nonsense lying down. |
