Nigerian Company Makes Breakthrough In Oil Spill Mediation
Written by Kolawole Daniel, Abuja
Saturday, 07 August 2010

AN indigenous company, Green Stream Solutions, has made a breakthrough in oil spill remediation with its latest biotechnology that can remediate oil spillage in Nigeria, as part of its contribution to the protection of the Nigerian environment from depletion.

This is coming against the backdrop of dangerous effects of oil spills and the over 3,000 oil spill incidents in Nigeria.

The chief executive officer of the indigenous company, Mr. Charles Ifidon, disclosed this in an interview with journalists during a meeting with the oil companies operating in Nigeria by Minister of Environment, Mr John Odey.

He noted that, in the past, there had been little or no awareness on curtailing oil spillage in the country.
According to him, “oil spillage has led to deaths due to its interference with both feeding and reproduction, and the damage of lot of fish ponds due to oil slicks. Fish eggs and larvae suffer high rate of mortality, and yet, there have been very little awareness on how to curtail oil spillage in the country because of the procedure of the communities in the area of settling them.

“We have just come up with some products that are biodegradable, they turn oil into carbon dioxide. This will help in solving the challenges of oil spillage in the country.”

OAM4J:
Your concept of founder is faulty. Assuming I accept your concept (which I dont), it then means Eko as it is today was no longer founded by Benin but by Portuguese and the British or lately the FG.

Also you still haven't answered my question, what development did Benin brought to Eko to earn them the status of a founder?
They built the first town (Eko) and created its ruling structure.
Now its your turn to tell me what you think is the status of the Eguns, who were there before everyone else; Awori or Bini.

OAM4J:
For the purpose of your argument and your definition of founder, its OK, but whether the Gwaris and the Aldja people agree with you is another. But we Lagosians believe that Yorubas and  not Benin found Lagos  and we are not descent of Benin.
I don't see why they shouldn't; being the founder of a place does not give one the right to claim ownership.
It is funny that in all this back and forth, we have somehow forgotten the existence of the Egun, they were there long before everyone else; the Awori's, Bini's and everybody else. So where do they stand in your concept of the meaning of "founder?" Do you no see how faulty your concept is?
I believe that you are taking "founder" to mean people with indigenious rights. Bini people founded Eko, but they have no rights (indigenous or otherwise) over Lagos. It's our history and it shows how mixed we all are and how tribalism is most times the same as slapping oneself.

You are being unfair to the Gwaris and you are attempting to rob them of their ancestral heritage and land ownership claiming FG found Abuja.

So if today the FG comes to Your part of Delta (especially the creek areas), rebuilt, develop, and possibly rename it with a new federal structure leadership, your people cease to have any claim to being the founder - Right?
As long as they build a new town where none previously existed, then that is correct. For example, the Aladja, Steel Township was founded by the Federal Govt.
Aladja is a Warri suburb http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aladja

. . .
The 1st settlers in a place are the founder, not the people that built roads and bridges. So who are the founders of Abuja? Murtala, Obasanjo and Babangida?
My definition of "founder" agree's entirely with the one honeric01 pasted above.
The founder of Abuja is the FG, its really not any of the men mentioned above.

I guess we could go on and on about words and their meanings, what is most important is that we have been able to deeply explore history and come to agreement in the majority of areas. We should do this for all areas of Nigeria.

So what you want us to believe is that the Yorubas living in Lagos before the Benin expedition came were inconsequential, it was the few people who came from Benin on expedition; who set up rulership structure that found and built Lagos?

We can as well move further and claim that the British who came many years after; who set up a more solid rulership, built most of the standing structures; roads, bridges are the founder of Nigeria. huh
Katsumoto: These are the Facts
1. There were Awori people living in Lagos Island while the Ijebus moved to Ikorodu and Epe
2. There was a king on Lagos Island called the Olofin; a king signifies structure even if its a small one
3. Benin King appointed Ashipa who supplanted the Olofin
4. The Aworis were not only living in Lagos but they were fishing, farming, procreating, and trading
5. Lagos was a tributary to Benin which suggests that implicitly suggests that Benin did not give to Lagos but took from Lagos
6. It is inclusive whether the Ashipa was the son of Oba Orhogbua. Some accounts say he was an Isheri chief while Benin accounts say he was the son of the oba. Read Robert S Smith's book, can't remember the title.
There is no doubt that the Awori's built the first settlements in lagos, but a settlement is not a town. You guy's need to place the Awori's and pre-Eko (if thats allowed) times in proper perspective. These were folk who were fleeing from war and were harassed on all sides by slave raiders from Dahomey, Oyo armies, the constant need to dodge Bini armies etc, they had no time for truly permanent settlements. It is also quite clear that Aromire was still in charge of the Awori's at the time the Bini's took over, meaning the Awori's themselves were still very new to the territory.

Because of the chaos and insecurity of those times, it took a power to establish a functioning city, Iga Idunganran was converted from a pepper farm to palace grounds by the Bini.

The closest I can compare the situation of the Awori's with, is the Gwari's being the earliest settlers in Abuja. However, the Gwari's clearly did not build Abuja.
Programming › Re: Which Programming Language by Beaf: 4:42pm On Aug 06, 2010
gameaddict:
If you're thinking of going into that field, I'd suggest you look into c++ and specific Microsoft programming languages and suites as a starting point because that is what most of your potential clients may be used to. I'm saying this because your job will require rapid yet stable development and Microsoft has developed a lot of libraries and tools to make things easier. Java is also an option here. The best advice I can give now is that you find someone in the specific development field and make inquiries regarding what clients demand and what tools are accepted. Some clients will want you to develop applications with a specific language or library just because it is popular so you're faced with not only the languages themselves. Also note that you may not end up developing a new application with your preferred language. You job may be to maintain and enhance existing ones and I think these are likely to be in c++, java or the Microsoft ninjas(lol, ). C++ is a good starting point in my opinion. Other languages and libraries can be learned faster after mastering it.

Maybe you should change the topic title to something that will draw professionals in the field as they'll have more experience.
C++ is the wrong language for developing business and database applications, that is huge overkill. It is more suited to low level stuff like graphics (debatable), kernel level apps, drivers, highly tuned real-time apps (robotics, embedded, trading floor) etc.

I would suggest C# or Java, with strong bias toward C# because of it's superior decimal type (one of the main reasons why C# overtook Java as the defacto standard for finance and banking software in the late 90's).

C# (and the .NET platform) is certainly the most RAD development environment out there, you can generally plug out an app 6 times faster in C# than in C++. A one month dev time in C# is certainly better than a six month dev time in C++ for the very same functionality.

This link provides other practical reasons to look at when making your choice http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1371634/how-dominant-is-java-c-compared-to-c-in-financial-industry

@Mr Beaf, please enlighten me on how Nigeria is better than South Africa at the Moment!
Clear and valid bullet points would be appreciated
It is this sort of low self esteem that makes us never develop. How can you say other people are "BETTER" than yourself? It beats reason. You would think there was some sense in the saying that everyone feels that their moms soup is the sweetest, but here it has been turned upside down. No self pride, and thats the sort of sense of leadership those poor kids will be getting.

South Africa is the most violent country in the World, but, survey after survey has found that Nigerians are the happiest people in the World, you need to find out why.
I can fill several pages with cogent reasons about Nigeria is a better environment to train those who some hope will be the leaders of tomorrow. But lets start with the video below and realise that it happened more than once and no apologies have ever been issued.

PDP govs dare Nwodo •On reduction of delegates •Plan mass defection to Buhari’s party

Written by Leon Usigbe
Friday, 06 August 2010

GOVERNORS elected on the ticket of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have dared the national chairman of the party, Dr Okwesilieze Nwodo, to proceed with planned reforms in the party targeted

at reducing their influence on who becomes an elective office candidate.

Dr Nwodo has consistently hammered on his intention to see to the reduction in the number of delegates to party congresses and convention controlled by state governors, which gives them a major say in the outcome of primaries.

Currently, all members of the Federal Executive Council (FEC), Special Advisers and Special Assistants to the President, all members of the state executive council, Special Advisers and Special Assistants to state governors are delegates to party congresses and convention, where they vote according to the desires of their principals.

The national chairman, who maintained that the situation removed the party from the control of the people and put it firmly in the hands of the state chief executives, had vowed to change the situation in his desire to return the party to the people.

However, the Nigerian Tribune has learnt that the PDP governors met recently in Abuja and resolved to stop the reduction in their delegates and have threatened to defect massively to the Major-General Muhammadu Buhari-led Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) should the party go ahead with the plan.

According to a source, “that was the resolution in their last meeting. They said if the chairman removed their delegates, they would defect en masse to CPC but that will be a mistake because they can be persecuted there by CPC government.

“It will serve their interest to remain in PDP where they can negotiate and continue with their lives,” the source added.

Meanwhile, the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the PDP is expected to meet in Abuja on Thursday next week to deliberate on the governors’ threat and other matters, including the overbloated number of personal aides of members of the National Working Committee (NWC).

It was also learnt that Dr Nwodo, on assumption of office as the national chairman of the party, was disappointed to find that most of the national officers had about eight personal aides as against two that they should have and, therefore, directed that they should be reduced forthwith.

A party source revealed that personal aides of officers outnumbered the party employees in the national secretariat of the party.

The Nigerian Tribune also gathered that since aides’ allowances were paid with the salaries of their principals, some officers fraudulently claim allowances for personal aides, whereas they have no such persons working for them.

“Sometimes, they collect between N400,000 and N600,000 annually for ghost aides. That is why we have no money to pay our debts,” the source said.

The issue is now scheduled to be discussed at Thursday’s NEC meeting where it is expected that the move to reduce the personal aides would be ratified.

The NEC meeting will be preceded by meetings of the party’s caucus and Board of Trustees (BoT) on Monday and Tuesday respectively, followed by the weekly NWC meeting that would collate resolutions reached in the various meetings into a memo for the consideration of NEC on Thursday.

Meanwhile, members of the executive committee of Abia State PDP, whose dissolution was announced by Dr Nwodo in Abuja on Wednesday, have rejected the dissolution, saying that it was “ill-informed, scandalous, totally unacceptable and without legal or moral basis.”

Addressing newsmen in Abuja, on Thursday, the chairman of the dissolved committee, Chief Ndidi Okereke, said that the purported dissolution was done in spite of a subsisting court order dealing with the sanctity of the committee.

According to him, “as believers in due process and the rule of law, it is incumbent on all parties to respect the judiciary and avoid actions capable of prejudicing the outcome of the subsisting suit.

Hence, the purported dissolution is ill-informed and an undue interference in the constitutional duty of the courts handling this matter.”

The former executives urged the party to follow “the path of honour and good conscience by rescinding the purported dissolution of the executive committee of Abia PDP in the interest of our great party and its teeming supporters in Abia State who are greatly dismayed by this curious decision.”

Written by Uchechukwu Olisah, Benin City
Friday, 06 August 2010

THOUSANDS of residents in Benin City, the Edo State capital, on Thursday, besieged the St. Paul’s Catholic Church, located on the Airport Road in the Benin metropolis, to catch a glimpse of Jesus Christ who was rumoured to have appeared to worshippers during the morning mass service.

The Thursday appearance of the image of Jesus Christ to the worshippers at the church was reputed to be the first of its kind in the area.

Francis Efe, 18, a mass server, said he actually saw the image of Jesus Christ in a form of the Divine Mercy image around 5.00 p.m on Wednesday, while preparing for mass after the prayer.

He said after seeing the image, he went outside the church hall to call his fellow mass servers and that they all followed him to the altar to see the image before it receded into the monstrance in the form of the Divine Mercy image.

“The priest came and we repeated the Divine Mercy prayer, followed by the Benediction, then the monstrance was reposed before we started the evening mass,” he added.

Efe said it was the security man who was watching over the monstrance that first saw the apparition and ran away.

While giving an account of what happened on Thursday, Efe said, “this morning after the morning prayer, the priest brought the monstrance back to the altar and the people that came for morning mass saw it and the people started shouting in amazement.”

Describing the image he saw, Efe said “Jesus Christ came like a human. Only the body, the hand and the head showed. The feet did not show. He came in pure white gown with something like red rays in form of blood and sky blue rays radiating from the navel downwards in a triangular formation.”

Judging by the prouncement of the Special Adviser to the President on National Assembly Matters, Senator Mohammed Abba-Aji, it is now certain that President Goodluck Jonathan will contest the 2011 presidential poll with Vice-President Namadi Sambo, as running mate.

Senator Abba Aji, revealed this in Abuja, on Thursday, at a meting of   the pro-Jonathan group, the Friends of Democracy, which was called to inaugurate the group’s zonal and state coordinators.

While saying that the Jonathan/Sambo ticket was virtually assured for the election, he said that whenever the president made his declaration, he would do so on behalf of his Vice president Sambo.

He thus dismissed fears that President Jonathan might do away with Sambo, when he clinched the ticket, saying that Jonathan as a democrat would not do anything that would put enmity between him and Sambo, who is currently very loyal to him

Senator Abba Aji, who is the National Chairman of the group, also disclosed that plans had been finalised for the group to open offices in all the states and the 774 local government areas of the country in a deliberate move to involve people at the grass root.

Katsumoto:
Do you see the discrepancies? One source claims he was a grandson, another source claims he was the son. My source claims he was a Yoruba son. Besides, Willliam the Conqueror (French) conquered England in 1066; will you say he founded England? William defeated the Germanic Harold the second. But none of them is credited with founding England despite the fact that there was no monarchy when the Nordics invaded. The Romans were even there several hundred years before the Germanic tribes (Saxons and jutes).

To summarise, Benin did not found Lagos Island, the Aworis were already there. With regards to the King being Benin, that is disputable because there are conflicting sources.
Son and grandson are the same in our extended family structure, so there's no discrepancy.
Your summary is wrong. The argument is that Bini people founded Eko, not that they first set foot on Lagos Island. Even their own version of history acknowledges that the Aworis were farming and fishing there and had scattered settlements, but it was the Bini's that built Eko and established a rulership structure.

Lagos royalty (especially Oba Akiolu) have repeatedly come out in support of the Bini version of history. If there is a dispute about who Ashipa was, the story his descendants tell should trump all others hands down.

THE Minority caucus in the House of Representatives, on Thursday, lambasted former President Olusegun Obasanjo for referring to the National Assembly as a corrupt entity milking the nation dry.

Media reports had quoted the ex-president to have accused the National Assembly of taking remuneration from the nation, far beyond their productive level.
While replying the formner president, the caucus insisted that Obasanjo lacked the moral right to pronounce them corrupt because he (Obasanjo) allegedly instituted corruption in Nigeria.

The Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, Honourable Ali Ndume, in his response to the remarks made by Obasanjo on the National Assembly, said thy were misplaced, adding that he lacked the moral right to pronounce the legislators as corrupt lots.

He, however, said the allegation of corruption against the National Assembly might not be totally false, adding that his grouse against Obasanjo was that he (Obasanjo), as the president of Nigeria, allegedly institutionalised corruption and, therefore, possessed no right to call anyone corrupt.

In his address to mark the end of the 2009/2010 legislative year, Ndume said the minorities in the House of Representatives also reviewed the government under President Goodluck Jonathan and came out with a verdict that the president had failed in his duties of providing good leadership for the nation.

The minority leader declared the government of President Goodluck Jonathan as a disaster, saying  that the president erred by refusing to sign the 2010 supplementary budget when the year had less than five months to wind up.

He asked the president to concentrate on governance rather than his current allged desire to upturn the zoning arrangement in his political party towards emerging as the presidential candidate for 2011.

Ndume castigated the president for failing to meet up the expectation of Nigerians who reposed so much hope in his leadership when fate brought him on board as the number one man in the country.

@Katsumoto
The first point were you and I diverge is on whether the Awori's were settled in towns or if their settlements were only temporary, set up for the purposes of fishing and pepper farming.

Katsumoto: Lagos was settled at various times by hunters and fishermen from the Àwórì sub-nationality. Originally based in Iseri on the Ògùn River about 20 miles from the island, the initial wave of settlers led by Arómiré ("the one that becomes personable at the sight of a river"wink, established a presence in Ìddó and Èbúté Métta. Arómiré also grew vegetables, especially pepper, on a site where Iga Ìdúngànràn, the palace or official residence of the Oba of Lagos now stands. Iga Ìdúngànràn is an Àwórì term meaning house on pepper farm. The palace is thus not only an important symbol of the historical traditions of Lagos; its name also helps keep alive the site's association with vegetable farming by Arómiré, the city's first settler
Quite clearly, the original purpose of the land on which the palace of the Oba of Lagos is situated, was its use as a pepper farm. The Palace only came about after the Edo's founded Eko and re-organised Chieftancies across the island and surrounding areas.

As for Ashipa being an Edo man; all versions of his history claim that he was a vassal of Oba Orhogbua of Benin and acted as the intermediary between the Benin throne and the people of Lagos, indeed, he met his death while headed on a mission to Benin. I will provide a couple of strong sources from Lagosian sources to buttress my point.

This is what the Oshodi family has to say about Ashipa;
There was a protracted struggle until the era of Oba Orhogbua of Benin sent his grandson Eshipa (Ashipa in Yoruba) to further consolidate Benin influence and to firmly establish a vice royality. Authorities are divided in opinion, whether the new government was first based at Iddo and was moved by the third king in the dispensation Gabaro to Lagos Island, or whether it was from the beginning of this existence that it seized the Island of Lagos, avoiding Iddo Island with its tradition of resistance to Benin influence.
http://www.oshodi.org/history/lagosians.html

This is from Lagos royalty, Prince Olusi Adepeju

Prince Olusi Adepeju: ASHIPA (1600-1630)
Ashipa was regarded as the founder of dynasty of Lagos. He was the son Oba of Benin. He was acting as the leader of the people of Lagos but not as the king. He serves as the intermediary between the Oba of Benin and the people of Lagos (eko),he spent 27 years as the leader of eko ,and died in 1630 and his son Ado took over his responsibility.
OBA ADO (1630-1669)
Oba ado, the son of ashipa took over the leadership role played by his father in 1630 during his own reign, he was elevated to an Oba and was crown as the king of Lagos by the Oba of Benin. Oba ado became the first Oba of Lagos. Oba ado had three children,2 males and 1 female. They include (Gabaro, Akinsemoyin, and Erelu Kuti).Oba ado ruled for 39years. He joined his ancestor in 1669 and his first son Gabaro succeeded him.

Sharap dia! Don't let me reopen the detribalisation school to re-admit hardened tribalists like you. Of course, Lagos is Yoruba territory, its just that Eko was founded by Bini people and all Oba's of Lagos are direct descendants of the Oba of Benin. That isn't difficult for tribalists to understand, is it? Bros, Edo peeps are your  uncles, aunties and cousins.

Next time you talk bullcrap about visa's, think about the above; you'll only be locking your uncles, aunties and cousins out. grin grin

olafolarin:
from your earlier posts, one can easily read that the Bini emmissary met the Awori people in Lagos. The Awori people are mainly fishermen who persuaded the Bini prince to stay in Lagos.
That definitely explains that those Awori people are the real Lagosians. We don't need to distort truth for selfish gains or propagation of tribal sentiments.
We don't need to be abusive and silly about issues.
Yorubas still have similar culture and political ideology with the Binis.
The entire Akoko section of today's Edo state is Yoruba speaking.
One of my friend is Floyd Ayeni.Guess what?He is from Edo state and he will tell you how his Family is a combination of both
Yoruba,Bini and Ichang.
Which one be Ichang? There are no Chinese 9ja indigenes na. grin
Don't mind the fact that I poked a lot of fun at 9jaganja for not recognising Egun people, that and sentiment aside, everything I have said here is concrete fact.

As a Lagosian, you should be able to contact the Oba of Lagos's palace for a simple confirmation of the facts I have laid out here. Bini people founded Lagos, yes the Awori's were present before them, but they never built a town, What the Awori's had was several fishing posts and a pepper farm at Iddo. The Edo's founded Eko and created the current chieftancy structures, confirm that from the Oba of Lagos's palace.

I am not an Edo man, but even my area of Nigeria too was heavily influenced by the Edo empire, which had influence and military outposts from Gabon to Ghana. For example, we have the same Olorogun title, introduced to us by the Edo (through Warrior Prince Igboze) and used also across Yoruba land.
Aside from far East (and huge swathes were affected), Southern Nigeria owes a lot to the Edo.

None of the above makes all of us Bini people, so loosen up. grin

Constitution: Agbakoba Sues N’Assembly
By Davidson Iriekpen, 08.03.2010

Former President of the Nigerian Bar Association Mr. Olisa Agbakoba (SAN) has mounted a legal challenge against the National Assembly for insisting that amendments to the 1999 Constitution do not require the assent of President Goodluck Jonathan before they become law.

In the originating summons filed by his lawyer Mr. Chijioke Ogham-Emeka yesterday, Agbakoba is asking the court to hold that the Constitution (First Amend-ment) Act 2010 passed by the National Assembly cannot take effect as law without being signed by the president.
He argued that the amendment would be illegal and unconstitutional if it is not signed by Jonathan.

Agbakoba urged the court to nullify the amendment on grounds that the National Assembly has contravened Section 58 of the 1999 Constitution.
The former NBA boss, who named the Attorney-General of the Federation Mohammed Adoke (SAN) as co-defendant to the suit, is also asking the court to hold that in view of the provisions of section 58 (1) of the 1999 Constitution, the assent of the president is a prerequisite before the amendment can become law.

According to the plaintiff, unless there is a deliberate effort to over ride that requirement (assent), pursuant to section 58 (5) of the Constitution, Jonathan’s assent is sacrosant.
He is further asking the court to "declare that the exclusion by the first defendant (the National Assembly) of the assent of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria from the process of alteration of the Constitution, unless section 58 (5) of the 1999 Constitution is complied with, renders the Constitution (First Amendment) Act 2010 embodying such altered provisions unconstitutional , null and void.

The plaintiff is seeking an order nullifying and voiding the Constitution for contravening the provisions of Section 58 of the Constitution.
According to Agbakoba, Section 58 of the 1999 Constitution spells out the mode of passing an Act of the National Assembly.
He urged the court to take judicial notice of the fact that since the Constitution (First Amendment) Act 2010 is an Act of the National Assembly and section 9 (2) of the Constitution merely provides for the mode of passing a Constitution Alteration Act by the lawmakers, the development does not derogate from the provisions of section 58 of the Constitution on how and when a bill which has thus been so passed becomes law'.

The application, which was backed by a 28-paragrah affidavit deposed to by a lawyer Mr. Jude Ehiedu, Agbakoba noted that it became imperative for him to challenge the amended constitution because it touches on sundry issues of grave political and electoral importance.
He contended that by the conduct of the National Assembly, a tax payer who has the right to be governed constitutionally; a lawyer who goes to court to argue cases based on a valid law and a valid constitution; and a SAN who swore to uphold the constitution in the performance of his duties, will now be governed by unconstitutionally amended provisions of the Constitution (First Amendment) Act 2010 in respect of his civil and political rights.

No date has been fixed for the hearing of the case.
But when contacted on phone to explain whether Agbakoba has the locus standi to institute the suit, Ogham-Emeka drew THISDAY’s attention to the oath sworn to by Agbakoba sequel to his conferment of Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) in September 1998, in fulfillment of the Legal Practitioners’ Act Cap 207 laws of the federation.
In his declaration, the former NBA boss swore to “truly serve the interest of the Federal Republic of Nigeria” and uphold the constitution of the country, he argued.

The Counsel also drew THISDAY attention to the case involving the late Chief Gani Fawehinmi (SAN) and former Minister of Finance Minister Mrs. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, where the Court of Appeal held that Fawehinmi had the locus standi to challenge the Federal Government for paying the minister her salaries and other allowances in dollars because he had sworn to uphold the constitution.

The National Assembly had passed the harmonised version of the amendments to the constitution and maintained that Jonathan does not need to append his signature before the changes become law.
Prominent lawyers such as Prof. Ben Nwabueze and Chief Richard Akinjide have argued that the President needs to sign the act before it can become law.

Infact all of you are wrong, what determines the programming language to use is the type of application you want to build. You look at which one is better 4 that application. I can write some programs easily in FORTRAN which you can hardly do in Java (FORTRAN has many Maths Intrinsic functions that java don't have), u doubt me? Even d common notepad I can develop in minutes using VB6. Depends on the type of application u are writing. then u will know what programming language suits u, I'm learning everyday, Guess what, I started with Q basic, C, Java, Javascript, PHP, AJAX, VB, and now VB.net, School is making me lazy did days, do u know u can make your windows based applications to be used on other OS. I'm currently doing my I.T in SystemSpecs, What Programming language was used in developing the software for Sim Registration?
No one is doubting your "prowess", but it doesn't answer the question or help the OP in any way. He simply wants advice on the best route to learn his craft, after which he can switch languages and use "common notepad" like you.

Na wa for some peeps sha!  lipsrsealed

It is the training or punishment that killed them, not any running. Some of the things that are done there are just barbaric and need modernising.
