@gadogado You are a Northerner so you don't feel it; it has nothing to do with power rotation. The South does not compete as a block like Arewa. Since you've brought up religion in your argument, what would you say to Hebrew text on the Naira? Read what Reuben Abati had to say on the same issue. Is-haq Akintola's Silly Commenthttp://www.ngrguardiannews.com/editorial_opinion/article03/indexn2_html?pdate=070809&ptitle=What%20if%20Arabic%20is%20inscribed%20on%20Naira |
babapupa:You always talk stupidly about an area you know nothing off, nor are you willing to learn anything about. It is pure hatred. Do you remember this post about how you claimed that our elected officials did nothing to save Saro Wiwa who was executed by Abacha? https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-321491.192.html#msg4543915 You didn't even know who Saro Wiwa was and the Ogoni 9 were. Neither would you know that 20 villages have been wiped out and 50,000 have been killed in the ND. Monster. I wonder if it isn't common sense to realise that corruption is born in Abuja. The Niger Delta feels the brunt because we produce the only thing that the props the country's economy and the money is needed to stuff pockets of crooks from all over the nation (including your state and region). Corruption is a Nigerian problem, MEND didn't start it. The corrupt militants have accepted the FG bribe (amnesty). Is amnesty not corruption? What have you said about it? Hater. You want to come here and "correct" the actions of a Nobel Laureate whose brains and morals are leagues above yours. |
“Some eminent Nigerians have graciously accepted to dialogue on behalf of the Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND) with the Federal Government of Nigeria whenever the government realizes the need to adopt serious, meaningful dialogue as a means to halting the violent agitation in the Niger Delta,” Mr Gbomo said.http://234next.com/csp/cms/sites/Next/News/National/5465185-146/story.csp |
babapupa:I take it that this is your weak attempt to reply me. Have I accused anybody else but YOU as a "tribalist" or a hater of ND people? You and Sjeezy have proven yourselves over and over. Is your family into bunkering? Fool. |
^ Like I said, if they put that Arabic back; things will burn. We will not accept any sort of internal colonisation, its gone on long enough. Even the blind can tell the notes apart, so mess the almajiri's. |
babapupa:Wole Soyinka is a very wise and intelligent Nigerian. He reasoning is far above that of a daft "tribalist" like you. The way you go on, people will think your family runs a bunkering business. You have a deep hatred for the ND, low life scum. bleeping muskrat.
|
What proof do you have that they are criminals? Or have you constituted a kangaroo court? Does Nigeria need any help toward destruction? Is a country that bombs innocent people at a festival not destroying itself? Maybe you are proud of the current Nigeria; I am not. The country does not value me neither does it value my people. It hates us. Next thing, you will say Wole Soyinka is so daft that he is negotiating on behalf of "criminals". God bless Tompolo and Ateke. |
citizenY:All "tribalist" fools talk like this. May God punish you and your offspring. |
^ Bill Gates? Knock yourself back to reality. http://www.theregister.co.uk/2001/05/15/could_bill_gates_write_code/ http://www.codinghorror.com/blog/archives/000862.html http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DONKEY.BAS |
There may be trouble ahead. In the meantime, God bless Tompolo and Ateke. "These eminent persons will be known as the Aaron Team and have our mandate to oversee a transparent and proper MEND disarmament process," the group said in an emailed statement. But following a meeting between President Umaru Yar'Adua, the governors of the main states in the Niger Delta, and security chiefs, the government repeated its position that militants must lay down weapons before any talks could be held.http://www.reuters.com/article/africaCrisis/idUSLT717249 |
Nigerian delta militant group names mediation team Tue Sep 29, 2009 6:59am GMT LAGOS (Reuters) - The main militant group in Nigeria's oil-producing Niger Delta on Tuesday named a team of mediators to negotiate with the government over disarmament but said the amnesty process "lacked integrity". The Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND) named a team including Nobel Prize-winning writer Wole Soyinka and two retired senior military officials who it said had volunteered to act as mediators on its behalf. "These eminent persons will be known as the Aaron Team and have our mandate to oversee a transparent and proper MEND disarmament process," the group said in an emailed statement. "The MEND disarmament process will only come after the root causes of militancy and agitation in the Niger Delta have been addressed by the Nigerian government," it said. President Umaru Yar'Adua offered an unconditional pardon in June to all Niger Delta gunmen who laid down their weapons. The offer was one of the most serious attempts yet to stem unrest which has prevented Nigeria from pumping much above two thirds of its oil capacity, costing it billions of dollars a year in lost revenue. Presidential adviser Timi Alaibe told Reuters this month that 6,000 gunmen had signed up for the amnesty. But key militant leaders including Ateke Tom and Government Tompolo, who command thousands of gunmen in the region and have links to MEND, have yet to surrender and want the amnesty deadline pushed back to allow dialogue on demands including a partial military withdrawal. The government has denied their request, saying the amnesty terms must be accepted without conditions. http://af.reuters.com/article/topNews/idAFJOE58S04Z20090929 |

IG,walahi,so far you're the only northerner wey de make some sense hereNa, that goes to gadogado by a very long shot. IG is smart, but is emotionally attached to certain points (even against reason) like Mazaje. Ndu_Chucks is not at all smart. |
We need guns period! Government has long abandoned the ship and some are offering futile prayers for the day Nigeria will improve. Some folk are out of touch with reality of todays Nigeria. The country is in a tightening spiral to perdition; we are still awaiting the details of the 7 point agenda after two years of lethargy; the govt sends its Attorney General to foreign lands to protect known looters; the SSS capone has warned of implosion come 2011; there are problems in the ND; our president prefers helping Saudi Arabia to helping Nigeria. And some are praying for "peace, responsible govt, police and law and order". Far from reality. Doom is impending. ![]() Goons will only "bravely" take your wife and kids hostage because they know you don't pack serious heat. In todays Nigeria, every responsible man needs an arsenal. |
posakosa:They say Abacha died while humping 6 Indians. Are you saying he was sodomised to death by 6 Indian hunks? |
Absolutely Not!! The Police and the government need to do more to protect the law abiding citizens of Nigeria. After this is done, then we can talk about citizen’s right to bear arms. Nigeria is in chaos right now, NPF is marred with miscreants, the president is weak, the judiciary system is as corrupt as the politicians - citizens carrying guns will only exacerbate the situation. We can not like animals in the jungle, advocate survival of the fittest. Can you imagine a doctor, lawyer, engineer, CEO, or a law abiding citizen, getting into gun battle with a hardened criminal? And, don’t even think of getting a bodyguard – why will he want to protect your behind when he can rob you (worse yet, kill you) with impunity; and take your money – and become a warlord. Maybe we should revisit the woes of other failed states in Africa and the middle east.
There are a lot of contradictions in what you've said. How can corrupt govt and police protect anybody? Maybe one day, but nobody has that time, we have waited too long. We just need to vomit the system out of our guts. They say, God helps those who help themselves. Yeah, self help is the in thing. |
Something serious must have happened to trigger this reaction. I know of situations were Nigeria has abandoned her own to the wolves. But my brother, it is on the rash side and you will very likely to regret it. Nigeria, might not last that long; so why take such a decision? Calm down and look to obtain dual nationality for the meantime. Home is home. |
^ Yes ke! bad people go don finish. |
On the other hand, maybe she can test Yar Adua who prefers to junket to Saudi Arabia to open a uni while his mates were at the UN meeting Obama and our own makeshift uni's have been all but eradicated. |
This sounds almost Nazi. It is a very frightening thing. I can imagine that the most competent people would somehow be declared stark raving mad, totally conkers and bunkers. Then they would be dispatched off to some new fangled clinic where the most dangerous would "react badly to their drugs" and DIE. EFCC is for getting those who have committed economic crimes abi? When did they become INEC? I fear 9ja! |
No Morpheus. Far from it. I have a pragmatic approach to issues of a capitalist society though; there should be safety nets, checks and balances, ladders, protection of the consensual good, creation of opportunities etc. We can see where unbridled capitalism (with its attached consumption and "freedoms" have led the World; global economic meltdown, global warming etc.But thats another long topic sha ![]() |
@Eziachi Ibori was elevated by Abacha. I believe that getting him will uncover a lot of Nigeria's power brokers, hence Aoandoaka's international spoiling moves and the need for him to attempt lobbying the Met Police in London to drop charges. The full power of the Nigerian govt is behind Mr Ibori. |
These are the types I want. https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/0/03/KRISS.jpg It is everyones interest to arm up. 2011 no go be joke o! |
A homo is as dangerous as a paedophile. Period! Sodomy will very rightly get you in jail in Nigeria. Period! Preservation of collective society is more important than the individual. That is why we have prisons, the death sentence etc. |
illusion2:Exactly! They creep on you in tiny steps. Each time with one lame excuse or the other, before you know it, they dominate you 100%. It's got to stop. Imagine the excuse, that most can't read the notes (but can conveniently read Arabic). Illiterate Southerners seem to cope quite well, afterall, the notes are in different colours, sizes etc. The blind also seem to do quite well. The question therefore is; is there something so special about Northern Nigerians (even almajiri's) that they feel it is a God given right to lord it over the country? The answer to that question will resolve 90% of Nigeria's problems and all coordinated "religious" massacres by almajiri's (who we've been told, can read Arabic). |
@ Afam ![]() Thank you my broda. I don adjust myself. |
"Vision 2009" is gradually being revealed. Its the year that a country that has made powerful noises for a Security Council seat skipped a crucial UN meeting for a juncket to Saudi Arabia where he was received by a meer governor. Demeaning. 2009 is the year when our president preffered to open a foreign university while our local universities have been closed for months, with no re-opening date in sight. Even our inept military regimes didn't equal this. It is the year that has seen our Atorney General flying out to London to lobby the Met Police to drop charges against a known looter of the Nigerian economy. . . .Give up, all hope is lost ![]() |
gadogado: i would trust ribadu over ibori any day!but i have to admit, its hard knowing whats true and whats ficticious. i dont beleive ribadu is 100% clean but he is much cleaner than ibori. It is just impossible to compare Ibori and Ribadu. Where does one start? One has ill-gotten billions, the other has recovered (and is still recovering) ill-gotten billions. One is an ex-con, the other is an ex EFCC Chairman. One has previously been convicted on a couple of ocassions in the UK, the other is in exile in the UK for fear of his life. . . The list could fill a page. |
@love-vendor ![]() Unu go kill person o! |
May I also ask if Otunba Mike Adenuga, the eminently popular business mogul and chairman of Globacom, whom he targeted and hounded into exile, is also a public officer?Who are these guys to Ibori? Are they connected to bunkering? What is the connection? |
