My Sister started behaving weirdly last few Weeks. She laughs alone, talks alone and is sometimes restless especially at Night.

Though she always responds well and correctly when engaged. I've asked her and she told me she doesn't know when that happens and it's unintentional.

I, on my part have tried talking to my Dad to take her to a Mental Health Expert, my Dad seems to believe it is spiritual attack instead.
Please, I need Medical practitioners in the house to help tell me what she's probably suffering from so I can Confidently convince my Dad.

Sounds like she’s having auditory/visual hallucinations that are causing her to self-dialogue. Symptoms of Schizophrenia or psychosis. Find her psychiatrist care soonest possible.A psychiatrist is best to give a diagnosis.

My 17 years old brought shame to me last year she got pregnant, I have disowned her and sent her packing. She is staying with her boyfriend in his family home.

She gave birth 5 months ago she has been sick ever since she had the baby and the boyfriend doesn't have any money to take care of her. Plus the living condition is not suitable for her in her condition.

I have forgiven her and I want to take her back home so I can take her to the hospital for treatment but I don't want her to come with her baby. Please note there is only me and my 7 years old son at home. I work and my son goes to school till 5pm.

Sir, trying not to call you dumb but that’s what you are. So your daughter is the 1st to give birth out of wedlock? I am not encouraging the behavior but now that it happened, you want her to die or what? People make mistakes and also learn from them. She’s your own flesh & blood & you cannot cheat biology. By the way, are you sure she’s even in love with the guy or it’s out of youthful lust that she got pregnant? Don’t force her into marriage. You can hire a domestic help to help with the baby & your daughter can go to school. Stop showing her that her life is over, unless you are perfect & have never made a mistake.

I think you should sit down with him and discuss what is the rationale behind his act towards the boy. A simple communication with him will clarify most of your assumptions.

Stop justifying evil. Truth is that the man has not invested enough time to build a relationship with the boy. He hasn’t earned enough trust to correct him. Assuming he meant well, why would he be yelling at the boy whenever he shows up at his mom’s shop? He just came into their lives and is 1st supposed to build a relationship , earn the boy’s trust & respect & then correct with love. When someone likes you or your child, you’ll not need a prophet. Actions speak louder than words. I’d advise the lady to move on & not look back. That man will come between you & your son if you marry him.He may end up putting you in a position where you have to choose between your son & him. Be careful!

As a Kenyan in the diaspora, am so much ashamed of this outcome. This was the 5th time Raila Odinga was running. There was never a time he ran for elections and accepted the results. He’s been the reason for fights and bloodshed as a result of post-election violence. Even if it turned out to be true that there was rigging, it’s hard to believe because he’s always crying wolf. One thing about the US is that they are very protective of whatever plants or animals get to land on their soil. I will not be calling the name of any church, but why do some churches takes the deads to the church and pray for their sins to be forgiven before they are laid to rest?

Note, that most of this person are kept long in murtuary for months, and some even last up to years in the murtuary. But when it is time for their burial, they are first taken to the church for prayers. This prayer is mostly centered on asking God to forgive their sins and accep their souls into his kingdom (heaven).

My questions;

* Is taken dead bodies to the church good in the sight of God?

* Is the fate of the dead decided immidiately after death, or after they are burried?

* Can our sin be forgiven after death?

My opinion is that man was created by God. Churches are houses of worship dedicated for people to meet and give thanks to God , and make their requests known to Him. Man is created by God and when he dies, he goes back to God. If when alive human beings are dedicated, baptized or wed in churches, what makes it wrong to take this person back to church when their life has ended? I don’t believe in praying for the dead to be forgiven their sins, but I do believe in gathering to give thanks to God for the life of the departed , as well as pray for the loved ones left behind. I don’t know why some believe a person can go to church when alive but it’s sin to be taken there when dead. Is the God who gives life different from the God who takes it away?

Have you thought about the future when you have kids and they’d want to see their grandma’s final resting place? I don’t see that as a decision to consider. However, you got a very good advise of exhuming her remains and then bury somewhere else. With this option, her memory would be preserved. I don’t know about Nigeria but in Kenya, a court order must be obtained before exhumation and police officers must be present during the process. You may also want to involve the elders of your community and religious leaders if you are religious.Buy a permanent grave in a cemetery and put her to rest there. The other factor to consider before leaving to the UK for a masters degree, is the course of study you want to pursue. STEM careers are the in thing today especially abroad. Make sure you spend your money on a course that will yield results. Some careers like nursing maybe cheaper to pursue in Nigeria and then apply for a job in the UK. You’d have some short training and an exam before getting licensed to practice there. It’d save you thousands of Euros that you’d probably have to spend in school there.That would save you so much money. Good luck!

I don’t know if someone around her had narcan which is life saving and an antidote for opioid overdose. It blocks the effects of of opioids that cause brain damage and restores breathing. Just pumped through the nose. In the US, a prescription is not needed to buy it from the pharmacy. I hope more people can get to know about it because it has saved many struggling with drug use.

I have never fallen because God is not the author of confusion. I didn’t see it in my Bible that the people in the upper room on the day of Pentecost were falling after the Holy Ghost had come upon them. It is a false doctrine. The only time we see people falling in the New Testament is when demons were cast out. This nonsense of a person laying hands or chanting some magic words that cause people to fall is all acting. These are just people acting out a script.

My mum have never liked my wife to the extend of wishing her death when she lost our first baby and I had disowned her for saying that. So far we haven't had any contact since the incident and we are finally proud parents of twins boy and girl born in February. My stepmother have been here for us since day 1 she is in my house taking care of my wife and babies , my mum called saying that she want to come over and take care of my wife and kids and will be spending a month . I lied to her that my wife is with her sister and will let her know when she is back to the house so she can come over. To be Frank I don't want her near my wife because she doesn't likes her and I don't think she have any good plan for us. Did I do the right thing for lying to her my wife is not around or should I give her the chance to come over and see if she have truly change?

Am not surprised that your stepmom is taking care of your wife. A lady brought her mom here in the US for the mom to help take care of her children as she was in nursing school. She said her mom would never cook or clean. She’d scatter her dirty clothes on the floor. It was one day when the lady’s husband had to fix the roof in his mother in laws room. He had a roof technician with him. Only to find dirty underwear’s all over the woman’s roof. The lady said that her mother in law was so nice and helpful but had to let her own mother return to Nigeria due to the stress the mother was causing her. Long story cut short, any woman who lacks sympathy especially after another woman has just lost a child, must be a person with a very dark heart. If your mom didn’t love and respect your wife in the past, is it now that things will change after coming to your home for a month? I don’t want to sound judgemental because I don’t know what your personal relationship with your mom is like. However, like many have said, it’s okay to love people from a distance. You can take the kids for a visit but let someone keep an eye on them all the time if you don’t trust your mom. I pray that you’ll receive healing and your relationship with her will be restored. One has only mother regardless of whether she has mental illness, is crippled or a witch. A mother is irreplaceable. Try workout your issues with her even if it means involving the elders , religious leaders or even a therapist. You’ll never have another biological mother.

Dear nairalanders, I lost my mum recently due to illness, will you advise your 83years old father to remarry a 60yrs old woman to keep body and soul due to loneliness.

He can remarry if he wants to. However, be very careful as his children on matters inheritance. Our friends dad remarried. They agreed with him that the property he’d made with their mom before her death, was out of bounds for the new wife. Different women get married with different agendas. Not all are greedy but it’s better safe than sorry.
