We finally handed over the keys to the client on the 26th of July, 2016 ,who came all the way from London and that was the first time of meeting them after about two years of communicating via email and phone calls.

It was joy all the way from the airport to Benin.

We thank God it was successful and we thank some nairalanders who worked with us as subcontractors (muyesky , stainlessH, edisani).

THANK YOU ALL.

My wife and I are very happy with the finished work of segzy14 in our new home. Segzy14 did a brilliant job even though we met on nairaland few years ago. We gave him the job on trust and he kept his integrity as he delivered the building successfully. We physically met for the first time on 26th July 2016 when we collected our bunch of keys.

On behalf of my wife and family, I strongly recommend segzy14 for building projects in Nigeria. I am confident that he will do a professional job in any building project. Our new home is now like a show home within my family in Benin city.

Please segzy14 do keep the excellent work and continue to seek opportunity to do better.

bought a land and fenced and yet deciding what to do with it. I live abroad but have trusted hands on ground.
What should I build? Land is in lekki epe close to the Lagos business school (paid 3M)
Was considering build a 4 unit apartment and keep one for my family. But I have read some horrible stories about tenants. Now my question to those living abroad, Is it worth it? Should I hold my land and let the value go up then sell?
Please advise and tips greatly welcomed

Trusted hands? Be careful about some trusted hands in Nigeria.
4 units block of flats is a great idea. It is worth it because it is your living accommodation when you are in Nigeria and tenanting is a different matter. Should I hold my land and let the value go up then sell? This is a good strategy but secure the land from thieves - fence it with gate and watch over it until price appreciate. However, do not compare the naira returns with hard currency returns.

I want to know the cost of moulded concrete blocks (e.g. 9 inches, 6 inches, etc) for building a house in Benin City.

Is it cheaper to employ moulders to mould the concrete blocks for me or buy from block industry? How does both price compare?

Politics / Re: Effect Of Fuel Subsidy On The Common Man On The Street by beknown(m): 12:42pm On Jan 02, 2012
@Poster,

The effect of subsidy removal on the common man will be huge.

Removal of subsidy will result in higher price for everything the common man buys - e.g.
- higher transportation cost,
- higher food cost,
- higher cost of bicycle,
- higher cost of motor cycle,
- higher cost of GSM credit,
- higher cost of clothes,
- etc.

So their slogan says"Police is your Friend" yet at the slightest provocation and mistake,they Extort,brutalize or even terminate your existence.They use the benefit of Tax payers money,against the Tax payers.So how then can they say they are our friend,when they are public enemy.

It is not only in times of provocation and mistake alone, the NPF performs like armed robbers.

The fact remains that majority of NPF are armed robbers. The government and everyone in Nigeria know that, no secret.

The NPF use road blocks to extort money, kill and brutalize innocent people. Is that different from armed robbers?

The NPF is not a friend of anyone because they are working for themselves and only interested in enriching themselves.

They arrive with, or to harrowing tales grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin

Let us be very candid about this and be sensitive of this situation. There is no words to describe the difficult situation in Libya. Many people, including Nigerians, lost their lives.

I know the point of view Kobojunkie is pursuing but it is not sustained in the circumstances. Of course anyone is entitled to their views but make sure your views are measured against the harrowing circumstances of these returnees. To Grin amidst the difficult situation does not show sensitivity.

It is not a laughing matter. Neither is it a joke.

Nigeria is a difficult place but it cannot compare with Libya in atrocities.

@Elizadath,

Do not make the greatest mistake in your life. You are very lucky to see a woman who cared and looked after you for six years.

I guess she is still looking after you now after six years.

Develop true love for this woman now because she is your angel. If you take someone else, well, you are on your own.

It doesn't affect my life in anyway so I don't care at all.

@rokiatu,

I wish I could say that knowing the consequences ahead.

The UK introduced Civil Parnership as a legal recognition for same-sex relationship. Now, same-sex couples want more - e.g. they want the right to adopt children born of man and woman.

Our children are now being taught in the same class with other children born through 'confusion'. Imagine a child born through same-sex relationship - man and man / woman and woman. The child is confused as to his or her origin and parents.

What a world?

UK and USA can keep their financial aid, Nigeria does not need it.

Our culture is rich enough.

Marriage is for Man and Woman, period.

@usewisdom,

The title of this post is too general.

Every Nigerian abroad are not the same.

Reasons why many Nigerians abroad do not help other Nigerians:

1. Some Nigerians abroad are poor and have no money to provide help.
2. Some Nigerians abroad have small accommodation, too small to accommodate others.
3. Some Nigerians abroad who need help can be very ungrateful, unhelpful, inconsiderate, impatient and greedy.
4. Some Nigerians abroad who need help are playing 419 on other Nigerians who could have helped them.
5. Some Nigerians abroad engage in crime as a way of life.
6. Etc etc,

Please add to this list.

No need for a long list of prescriptions. Experience show that they do not work.

The simple rule is: Treat your marital partner as you would want to be treated.

For as long as they want. One day I would also visit my kids in their homes when they are married and would not want to be chased out of their home as if I am a stranger. Do unto others what you would have them do to you. Women remember your mil has become your mum too. You love her son you have to love her too because she gave birth to him. Shalom!

Thank you. True talk. That is the difference between experienced and inexperienced.
