I commend Dora for her plan to reduce GSM tariffs. Dora helped to reduce fake drugs in Nigeria through NAFDAC. It will be very good if Dora can remove high call charges on our Nigeria GSM. It will help businesses to reduce their operational cost. It will reduce cost of production. It will encourage businesses to expand and many more. |
Truth, they are over-priced. Watch-out for the bubble burst soon. Buyers are very few and far between. Some houses remain unsold for a very long time leading to price reduction. That is what sellers don't want you to know. |
@Poster, MrPrsdent:Remember that she is not your wife. A woman can be a friend to many men at the same time. You did not marry her. So move on with your life. Make sure you get serious with your woman next time. |
This is the mentality of Nigeria politicians. IBB can afford to spend huge sums of money because he has too much of it. That is the money for the Nigerian masses - he diverted the money for himself and family. When will Nigeria leaders and ex-leaders change from their wicked looting and corruption? IBB has no shame. Politics no be by force oh. No be do or die matter. |
prittigrrr: chaircover:These two contributions from prittigrrr and chaircover have summed up the story. Husband and Wife are not in competition with each other. Marriage is not for boys and girls. Feminism destroys marriage. Marriage is sacred and created by God for one man and one woman. God has already defined the roles for husband (man) and wife (woman). Any attempt to alter the doings of God brings damaging consequences. Feminism or women liberation or whatever else it is called is anti-marriage. |
johnwell:The reality in Nigeria is that many people are very pessimistic about success. As far as I am concerned, Air Nigeria can be a success in Nigeria. For example, Arik Air is one success story in Nigeria. Arik Air is now competing well with other international airlines. In fact, I prefer Arik Air now for international trips. In the same way, Air Nigeria can be another positive example soon. If you think success cannot happen in Nigeria, you could be left behind by positive developments in Nigeria. |
Double N:Let us be positive about our new Nigeria brand. Richard Branson is a businessman and he will not invest in Nigeria if his own terms were not favourable. There are many capable investors beside Richard Branson. Air Nigeria can make it. All it require is to shun corruption and employ reliable, responsible and excellent brains among Nigerians. Above all, excellent leadership. I will be very happy to see the return of Air Nigeria to Lagos-London route so that many European carriers who are currently charging excessive ticket prices can begin to see real competition. |
@Poster, This is a fight between Man and Nature. Sure, Man cannot win in this. I was looking at properties at Lekki a few days ago. I survived the flood and huge water by using 4x4. Some properties are totally cut off as the flood have overtaken many properties. Don't buy properties/land in Lekki without checking water in the land and the area first. A word is enough for the wise. People should be aware of the danger of building under water - even if sand filling the house is working, the road in the area may not be free from huge water. Or are people sand filling the roads too? At what cost? Is it worth the headache? From my little experience, sand filling the road is not a permanent solution. When the rain falls, the flood returns. |
@Poster, Show picture of the properties here. I hope the property area is not under water. I heard from reliable source that many Oshopa London areas of Lekki are flooded and under water. Some landlords are using 4x4 cars to swim the water. |
eros:You can call from anywhere in the world. As many people that call, the Hotel Receptionist and Telephone System will be put on overdrive and maximum capacity. The workers will be stretched beyond reasonable capacity. |
There are many Hotels and Guest Houses at various states in Nigeria listed in the following link: http://www.nigeriagalleria.com/Travel_and_Tourism/Hotels_and_Guesthouses.html Full contact details available. |
Venue of the secret celebration: Grosvenor House Hotel, Park Lane, London, W1K 7TN Telephone: +44 (0)207 499 6363 More details of location in London: http://www.marriott.co.uk/hotels/fact-sheet/travel/longh-grosvenor-house-a-jw-marriott-hotel/ As I write this, many responsible London based Nigerians are jamming the hotel switchboard with telephone calls. Great Nigerians and friends of Nigeria please let us scupper this corrupt waste of Nigeria’s funds. Call Grosvenor House Hotel on +44 (0)207 499 6363, query whether the conference is ongoing and request the number of their manager/ complaints department. State that you intend to register your protest in writing, try and get as many details as they will give out and post it here. Do something about this, don't wait for others to do something. |
These offers are sponsored by different people and companies seeking patronage by all means. Nigerians should beware of these type of offers because there are hidden agenda about them that can cause harm later. |
This is an excellent idea. Many people do not understand the way to fight crime in a clever way. In developed countries like UK and USA, sim cards are registered. As a result, all mobile calls in developed countries can be tracked and traced. Nigerians should support this idea with open mind. |
This is not a clever act. This is a scam masterminded by Prison Personnels. This story shows the decay in the Nigeria Prison Service. There are rules for Prison and Inmate Management in Nigeria but these rules are not being applied because of corrupt behaviours of Nigerian prison personnels. This is a shame on the Nigerian Government and the Nigeria Prison Service. There are many more of similar scams and corruption in the Nigerian Government. |
dekzy, Your business model is very good. However, your price is putting potential customers away. Remember that potential customers will hardly tell you if your offering has some shortcoming. As a family person, I have used self catering accommodation around the world. My last one was in Orlando in Florida. The price my family and I paid for a luxurious holiday trip to Orlando is far less compared to your prices. Review your prices down drastically and see your business boom. Increase your properties and reduce your prices. Do not try to target the highly wealthy people in Nigeria - many have questionable source of income. Former AGF Aondoaka for example. Try to target middle class families in Europe and America. |
In civilised countries, banking consumers are protected by their government. In Nigeria, banking consumers are at the mercy of the various banks. People should begin to share their bad experiences using any ATM in Nigeria. Nigerian lawyers should see this Revolution as a challenge to take on the big corporate giants who are causing chaos on banking consumers. I do not stay in Nigeria and I do not have experience of the ATM problems there. I am concerned when I hear some people complaining about their bad ATM experiences in Nigeria. My people it is time to share your bad ATM story about any bank in Nigeria. This is the Revolution. If you do nothing, nothing will happen. |
@Poster, You will be surprised to know that many Nigerians are victims of the illegal ATM withdrawals. My advice to Nigerians is to start an ATM Revolution in Nigeria. As a way to kick off this process, I will now start a new topic called: ATM Revolution in Nigeria. Nigerians should share their experience, Lawyers in Nigeria should get involve to seek redress for consumers in group actions, etc. |
@Poster, Sorry to hear about your predicament. I blame the Nigeria government, not the banks. In civilised countries, the government provided an official agency to handle all consumer complaints. Nigeria government should do better. In the whole of Europe, there are many solutions for handling complaint for all consumers. The European Consumer Centre in various EU countries. The UK website is here: http://www.ukecc.net and there are links to other EU websites. Still in the UK, there are many other consumer complaint support agency like: Citizens Advice Bureau, Financial Ombudsman Service, OfCom, etc. Unfortunately, Nigeria government is doing nothing to protect Nigeria Consumers. |
http://www.championsfornigeria.org/cfn/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=641:save-nigeria-group-uk-branch&catid=14:articles&Itemid=35 Save Nigeria Groups ( Nigeria and Canada ). Other pro-Nigerian Groups (Home and Diaspora), Domestic Election Monitoring Groups, Political Parties, Professional Bodies/Groups, Religious Organizations, Communities/Villages/Towns Leaders, Socio-Cultural Groups, Media Organizations, Chatham House, UK . Fellow Nigerians. Nigeria ’s general election is next year (2011), but up till the time of writing, the National Assembly (“law makers”) have not passed the Justice Uwais Electoral Reform Recommendations. It’s doubtful if they will pass the bill before the election. Whether they do or not, we Nigerians should take action(s) both as individuals and groups, to insist political parties field credible candidates. Therefore, this is a citizens/groups led approach towards achieving the above. We (Save Nigeria Group [ UK ] Branch) wish to ask all stake holders in Nigerian politics to join us and demand that political parties make public the following requirements. Political Parties/Groups Manifesto(es). As a matter of necessity, all political parties in Nigeria should produce their manifestoes. These manifestoes should be made available both online and hard copies. Nigerians need to know their programme(s) and why they are seeking power. Political parties should be ideologically based. Mega party or coalition of parties should come up with manifestoes as well. Parties also need to make public their internal constitution. This is with a view to knowing if there are internal democracies within the parties themselves. Contact Details Parties should make public their contacts details (addresses, telephone, fax, websites, emails etc). Branch offices/contacts (states, local government areas, towns, villages etc) should also be disclosed. Campaign Funding. Parties should disclose to Nigerians the sources of their campaign funding. Donations, fund raising, gifts etc to parties should be disclosed. Person(s) or corporate bodies making any donation should also be known by the Nigerian public. Cost(s) of election campaigns should be disclosed. As at October 15th 2008, before the November 4th 2008 American presidential election, the United States Federal Electoral Commission revealed that McCain campaign organization had spent $262 million dollars while Obama had spent $564 million dollars. Methods of campaign (electronic, print, telephone/sms, etc) should be disclosed. Obama campaign organization made use of over 1 billion text messages during his campaign. Academic Qualifications. Political parties should make public, academic qualifications of all those seeking to contest under their platform. Party leaders themselves should tender their certificates for the Nigerian public to scrutinize. Academic certificates are now a big factor in politics and elections. People have used fake certificates to gain political positions. In Iran , former interior minister (Ali Kordan) was sacked for faking a law degree from Oxford University United Kingdom . In Nigeria , Salisu Buhari (Former Speaker of the House of Representatives) was forced to resign after discovering that he forged his certificates. Security Clearance. Evidence of security clearance from Interpol, Nigerian Police Force, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, and State Security Services of each aspirant, should be made public by all parties and the candidates themselves. Nigerians deserve to know if political office seekers have criminal records in any part of the world. Assets and Liabilities Declaration. Political parties should make public, evidence of assets and liabilities of every aspirant. Sources of these assets and liabilities should be disclosed as well. Leadership Debate(s). Parties should arrange live debates for Nigerians to evaluate candidates. No elective position (councillorships, local government chairmanship, states House of Assembly, gubernatorial, House of Representatives, Senatorial, and Presidential) should be exempted. Health Check(s). Political parties should furnish Nigerians with comprehensive medical examination certificates of all aspirants. There is no guarantee against ill health, but Nigerians deserve to know the medical history of all those seeking political offices. Certain sicknesses should not be a barrier to seeking elective positions. This requirement (health check) should be applicable to all elective positions in the country, starting from the ward councilors to the president. Code of Conduct For Party Supporters/Followers. Political parties should make public a code of conduct for party supporters/followers. A written undertaken by parties that their supporters, will not engage in thuggery/criminal acts, before, during, or after campaigns/elections. Parties must agree in writing to hand over any party member/supporter who violates the above, to the law enforcements agencies. List(s) of Political Parties Please visit the enclosed web page from the Independent National Electoral Commission http://inecnigeria.org/index.php?cateid=3&contid=93 , to send a copy or copies of the above requirements either through email, fax or post to the political parties. Feel free to also call or send sms to the parties. May God bless Nigeria. Sincerely Yours, Chinedu Vincent Akuta (Spokesperson), Save Nigeria Group ( UK ) Branch. @Kunle-A You are not alone in your thinking. It baffles me too. I wonder why sellers want customers to buy their properties worth N5Million or more without a single photograph of it. |
@Poster, The following article in Castles Weekly will help you: http://www.castlesweekly.com/ShowArticle.aspx?ID=857 |
@Poster, Take the room self contain option for now. Begin arranging a small house of your own. Do not get married without a bigger accommodation. One room self contain is not OK for you and your wife, talkless of with children. Do not land yourself in permanent poverty trap. |
@naijacutee, I totally agree with you. I think the poster knows the truth of the matter. No need to talk too much. |
This is what IBB does not want you to know. Thank God for the Internet age. Read all about IBB crimes here: http://againstbabangida.com/ |
People who know the full atrocities of IBB will not even talk about him. It is very unfortunate that many people in Nigeria do not know the various crime IBB committed during his tenure in Nigeria. A few of his crimes are: 1. IBB took power in Nigeria via coup plot 2. IBB annulled June 2003 election without any valid reason 3. IBB sent MKO Abiola to prison for no reason. Why did MKO Abiola die? 4. IBB killed General Mamman Vatsa and others for an alleged coup plot. The Nigerian law did not find General Mamman Vatsa and others guilty but IBB created his own law to make sure they were sentenced to death. Refer to the following legal reference in Nigeria legal library: Treason and other Related Offences (Special Military Tribunal) Decree No. 1 of 1986 was signed into law in Nigeria by IBB on 6 January 1986. The new law was used to convict General Vatsa and other alleged coup plotters and death sentence was pronounced. 5. He was shamed out of power in Nigeria. People who want IBB back should go back and read his history all over the internet. It appears Nigeria has no library containing his various crimes and damages to our Nigerian society. At least the internet is awash with numerous information to inform the uninformed. |
