Irrespective of the country you leave for outside Nigeria, you must do a legal divorce before remarrying.

You can only get away with it if your husband decides to look away. You are still married to him under our law and all laws under planet Earth except for mars.. cheesy

Why are you both not working things out? Irreconcilable differences is an ambiguous statement to cover up meaningless issues. You both can still make it work.
Family › Re: My Husband Is Flirting.... by bellong: 12:45pm On Dec 06, 2014
It is not a mere conversation. When opportunity presents itself, he is going to cheat if he is yet to.

Now, the question is, what are your plans? What can you do to stop him from plunging further into that abyss?

Your school will be the one to notarize it. They only need to stamp it and write "photocopy of the original".

I tried my best already at trying to get my money back. I have threatened him yet though.
I really just can't get around this idea among Nigerians to not want to pay back. It's sickening. Just to get my money back o.

Police is my going to be my last resort. Cos they can't hold him legally for too long. He'll probably get away after a while and we'll be back to square one.
Police and "legally" are not best of friends and the two cannot be written in the same sentence.

They will get your money for you by all means especially with the promise of a good commission.

Not only that. They were indirectly teaching those kids that striping someone unclad is a good way of punishment.

No wonder adults of our generation like to strip criminals as punishment . That's how they were raised. any small thing that happens 1 2 3 strip and start molesting the person or taking pictures of the offender.

This is how it starts.
Most adults in this part of our world do think and believe that children are slow learner or don't know anything.

Contrary to that believe, they are very very fast learner especially from actions.

They hardly forget what they see. I still have fotographic memory(ies) of some things I saw at age 6.

It is very sad that schools that should know better are worse than some parents.

I agree with you to certain extent. Like I said I told the founder to apply stick but I guess we differ on how many.
But I tried to talk with my daughter and my son with their mom later in the day. We told him sorry but that we also dont like the fact we get those reports about him. Then he was hugged and by everybody, though he promised not to be that naughty anymore. Then my daughter insisted he gets to watch any channel of his choice for the nite even ahainst my standing rule of no tv during the week except weekend. This I allowed him. So it is carrot and stick not stick alone
I like the part you both apologized to him. Very commendable.

Please don't let him be humiliated in public in school again. If possible, change his school.

The attitude of the school shows that they have no corrective and formative skills for children without violence or extreme punishment.

The punishment meted out to him is like killing an ant with a sledge hammer.

May the boy live long to be an agent of positive change in his generation. Amen

6yr old Stripped naked and beaten?
shocked shocked shocked shocked shocked shocked shocked shocked shocked shocked shocked shocked shocked shocked shocked shocked

As stubborn and rude as I was at that age, I was not stripped naked. Not even when I nearly blinded a classmate with blow.

Bro, in an ideal setting, the parent that sanctioned it and the school that took such a crazy decision would be answering questions at welfare center if not doing some time in jail.

I am not against disciplining an errant child but going overboard is not it. The boy is too young for such humiliation. What you may not understand is that you are unconsciously hardening the boy instead of softening him. Discipline is for reformation and not deformation.

Please, what is the name of the school and where is it located so I wouldn't make any mistake in enrolling my son there? cheesy

Seriously, the punishment is too grievous for the of fence committed and for his age.

Are you (m) or (f)?
You are about the only person who doesn't know I am a certified and complete MALE... cheesy

And quite candidly, I'm putting myself in the shoes of the average nigerian girl.
Maybe trying to garner some pity excuse for her.
I understand you because it is what most ladies are good at doing. They do fail to do a critical assessment of issues to understand their fault so as to correct it to prevent re-occurrence. No, they wouldn't do it but find an excuse why they are the victim.

You come off as a tad bit insensitive.
I take it you're (m).
At the emboldened, what saying you now huh cheesy cheesy cheesy Who nuh go nuh know..............
The truth and reality most times sound insensitive. I am sensitive to their plight but the truth must be said. When the truth is not spoken, they will keep wallowing in misery.

My conclusion is this.
Babes be going thru some shiii in their relationships because they do not know better.
If they did, they won't last the next nanosecond in there.
Knowledge is power.
It pays to wise up
grin grin
Most actually know better but are tied down because of "fringe benefits"...

You make it out to be so easy on screen.
Leaving a toxic relationship requires will power and mental strength.

Not every lady out there understands ^^^ those concepts.

How in God's green Nairaland did they inflict such on themselves, how sir/ma huh

You meet a guy........
You thought you were loved.
You thought you understood love.
You didn't know better........

You summon virtually every fibre of your being to love him back, fiercely and sacrificially.
Even when it's against your values, you had sex.
You didn't know better

You'd committed your resources (time, treasure and talent) into making the relationship work.
Little did you realize you were being manipulated.
Little did you realize you were loosing yourself.

When you finally did.....
You were torn between___"I've com too far to let go......what will people think, where do I go to from here......yepah! I am finished! angry
and "Now that I have realized, I can't continue........I'mma take a walk.
^^^ The average uninformed/unenlightened Nigerian lady would stick with the first option, except she has a back-up plan.

I beg to disagree on "has no control over"......

I have an exam tomorrow.
My books are right in front of me.
The course I'm reading for looks like Aramaic.
I'm feeling sleepy........

I have a choice.
To close the darn book and just scribble whatever tomorrow.
The worst that can happen is re-writting.

I have the power to make any choice that suits me....... (control)
Yet I'm going thru' with this anyway......

I'm really not left with much of a choice from the other party involved (examiner)
So, somehow.....I have to cover this book, anyhow......
^^^That's the way it is for some ladies too.
It is nobody's fault if a lady cannot do her due diligence before giving a player an opportunity. Most of these players use the vain ambition of these ladies to woo them.

You summon virtually every fibre of your being to love him back, fiercely and sacrificially.
Even when it's against your values, you had sex.
At least, the sex was mutual. The guy didn't put a gun to her head to do it. This shouldn't be a reason to complain.

Considering not to leave a relationship because of what others will say is a self inflicted damage. Probably she got into the relationship because of what others will say.

Summary of what I am saying is that everybody should take responsibility for his/her failure and not shift blame which most of these ladies do. They are never at fault but the guy.
Family › Re: Why Devalue And Belittle Yourself? by bellong: 4:26pm On Dec 04, 2014
MizMyColi:
Some ladies just don't deserve the blow they're cut in relationships.
More oft than not, it's because they don't know better sha.
Nobody who is innocent deserves blows in a relationship irrespective of gender. However, ladies cry wolf when they are mostly the architect of their own misfortune. Every lady has the right to quit a toxic relationship but they wouldn't and will keep complaining that their guys are not treating them right.

Whatever is self inflicted cannot be categorized as "going through". "going through" is something a person has no control over.

Ladies should learn to make good choices than being controlled by ephemeral things.

if a man earns N80k per month and his wife earns N60k per month,is there anything wrong with having a baby if they are prudent?
The problem with most ladies and men is that they want to "belong". Raising a baby is not that expensive as taunted by many people. Aside the periodic diapers change, there is no other "high cost" expenses for the baby provided the parents are not concerned about other people's irrelevant opinions.

Medical science advise at least 6 month exclusive breastfeeding for a new born. One is exempted from buying formula, which may consume a better percentage of finance depending on how well the baby eats, for 6 months. After the 6 months gap, you can start giving the baby fruits and solid which are not expensive.

There are new baby clothes that are not over the top price. Go to Idumota in Lagos, if you live in Lagos. No need of buying expensive baby products for the baby if the resources are not available.

People do talk as if you need all the millions in the world to raise a kid and we are mostly unrealistic on this forum when it comes to finance as if it is everybody that luck smiles on.

Yes, 140k is enough to raise a baby for a prudent family.
