Any woman that doesn't have the sense to recognize that her husband is the head, even under pressure doesn't belong in a marriage. DaCharis2016: What's totally bad? Considering the pressure on her she mentioned. I think her asking for her husband's help was justified. |

I am trying hard not to insult you for your opinion, madam. The man clearly indicated disapproval the first time. A wise wife wouldn't repeat it again unless she doesn't give a damn. Wash the plates boy. I am feeding you. That was probably the straw that broke the camel's back. You thought it was smart to bring up the example of men frying Akara with their wives. I fear you. bigtt76: At home it's ok but in public? No dear. What happened to your staff? Can't they do the dish or get some indigent person in the neighborhood to do that for you and you feed him/her if you can't afford paying them a wage.
The husband too proud, he ought to have taken the initiative and assist the wife. I've seen men frying akara with their wives on the roadside to make ends meet. |

Very disrespectful. You ask him to wash the plate the restaurant? If na house self, that's probably alright. You people seem to forget so soon. You clearly indicated that the man opened the business for you. He probably did that because of the unforeseen. An average man would assume the same thing (I hate the slap part though. That's a bad thing to do, regardless). As in you must think cos he's had a setback, you can order him around. It looks like you only can really know who a woman is if you are not doing well financially. You probably did not think that was demeaning at the time. Know the Nigerian man and know peace ladies. BonPatrick: A mother of two who pleaded anonymity has taken to social media to ask members of the public whether it was wrong to ask her husband to do the dishes. According to her, her husband lost his business to scam and she has been the one catering for the family with the little she earns from her restaurant business. She said: “Truly, My husband was the one who opened the restaurant for me, I cook very well and I still do my cooking by myself as I only direct my staffs on what to do.My husband lost his business to scam and since then it’s been me carrying the responsibilities, most of my staffs left because I could not pay them and at some point, all of them left and I had to do everything by myself.
“My husband is doing nothing yet, he just sits at home and maybe go pick the kids from school and all, so yesterday I had lots of customers in the shop, I was doing everything by myself, so as soon as my husband walked in, I asked him to help me rush to wash a few plates while I serve, and he looked at me in some strange way, I repeated myself and he slapped me in public, and walked out.
“I ignored the embarrassment and even most of my customers left, when I got home I noticed that he moved his things, I called his phone and he said he is in his friends place till he gets a job he will come home, that I should take care of the kids.
“He cut the call I tried to call and the next he blocked me.
“What did I do wrong, who is supposed to be upset? I just need to clear my conscience.” |

You don't know me, neither do I know you. We don't need to understand each other. Why would anyone even make it a purpose? If you noticed my first comment was that it's quite ignorant to assume a concept/belief is being followed blindly if you don't understand that your stance is a concept too. The first bolded, I can assure you that if you knew me you wouldn't make such a reckless uninformed statement. Such a display of ignorance and unenlightenment from someone who thinks he knows what he's saying by telling someone his concept of whom to follow is wrong and is being accepted blindly. It comes across as if your opinion on the subject who believes it to be wrong since he can't understand it. If your own spirituality gives you balance, inner peace, purpose, and all that, fine. It's personal. As i previously said, you are all over the place, cos you keep bringing up stuffs that are not relevant. I am so set in my ways? How would you know that? Let's assume that's true. Aren't you set in your ways/beliefs too? You were once like me? Do you know how old I am? Or what I am doing in my life? Are you kidding me? That's quite childish, man. From our exchange, i doubt you even know what you are talking about. You are not articulating your points well honestly. It looks like you are the one choosing a concept/belief system blindly. All the best. Franzinni: I really can't understand you beyond the fact that your belief gives you balance even if you have no proof of its reality. So to conclude, my spirituality gives me balance also, and as I earlier mentioned, I am not in any despiration to convince you of my point of view. I am only expressing mine. There are still alot you don't know about life how ever old you are, you are so set in your ways that any other idea or concept frightens you into a needless scramble to mentain your beliefs. I was once like you till I found God. Maybe you will one-day then you will understand. Until then have a wonderful life. |

1. I used gut, because I was specifically referring to an inner feeling. If you didn't notice that, then I cannot help your ignorance(sorry for using this, but i think it's appropriate). The mind includes all sort of stuffs. 2. You are definitely not used to staying on point. I asked you a question and you couldn't provide an answer. So sad. 3. The second bolded. What the hell is wrong with you man? Gather your thoughts and feelings before you put them out here. You are being all over the place. Come back to what is and stop simulating a situation that has no chance of repeating itself. If i was born in Detroit? That's not useful here. 4. Do not quote the bible if you do not subscribe to it. If you do not subscribe to it, you definitely do not understand it to be good for you. But i wish you well regardless. 5. You keep stressing on the gut thing, which honestly rids your argument of any weight. You can learn a gut feeling. You could argue that, oh why won't you weigh that feeling, since you are all grown up now and unlearn it if it's not good for you. But I already gave you the reason. It gives me balance, and i would rather not lose that. Franzinni: your gut? Your mind you mean ... And for your information you mind is a collection of all the experience you have had Since you were born, your entire identity was taught to you , you are whatever tribe you are becasue of your parents taught you ... If you were born in Detroit by the same parents you will never be the you that you think you are today so what gut feeling do you have ? Even the bible asked you to test all spirits. My brother you just are afraid to ask important questions and free your soul from the rigid ritualistic behavior use to severe you from the god within you. Even the bible says " and ye are gods " see I am not trying to convince you to become spiritual, spirituality is a personal relationship with God. So whatever makes you happy you are free to have faith in. I found mine in spirituality. |

Because my gut tells me it is. Because it works for me. Because that concept brings my existence balance. And you could argue you are wrong blablabla. I'll surely take it under advisement. Besides what have you ever known in your life outside the stories you've heard and the books you've read? . You better think before answering. Franzinni: but why do you hold so dearly that your concept is the way[b][/b] ? Beyond stories from others and a book ? |

Are you serious? bunto: See all the comments above. Totally SMH! The black man is yet to allow his brain to advance. The police needed to separate the couple before one kills the other and the woman is the more endangered specie as well as her children, so it's the man that must leave the house as he can fend for himself.
However, in Nigeria, we believe the house belongs to the man, so the wife must leave for the man.
Doesn't that say that black people are closer to animals than cerebral humans.

Your assertion that Christianity is a concept that people have been made to believe blindly is a concept too. It's so sad you have no idea it is. Surely there's no assertion that doesn't espouse a concept. Good luck with your belief that your concept is right over another's or good luck with thinking without any underlying concept in mind. Franzinni: Right there shows the frame of mind of someone who is interlecually versatile.
A thinking man, I only wish he understood that even Christianity is also a concept that people are trianed from birth to believe blindly also.
Spirituality is the way. Not religion. |

Please you are talking to a researcher, even though i am not a historian. So I am basically checking out your sources and comparing the information found to your assertions. Now you are being all over the place. My previous comment was clearly referring to the bolded in which you wrote Secondly you lied when u said the Arab countries started the 1948 war. Yes, Egypt started the 1973 October war in retaliation for the 1948 war. Israeli military historians agree with the fact that the war was started by Israel This clearly indicates that you know for sure that the Israelis started the 1948 war. I do not know how the six-day war came into this. Surely we can move on to that some other time, but I would appreciate it if you can address the 1948 war, then you can then talk about 1967 and other wars afterward. salykely: I also made reference to Professor Noam Chomsky's book the faithful triangle. You can get that book.
This is another excerpt from Wikipedia:
"...The Six-Day War was fought between June 5 and June 10, 1967, by Israel and the neighboring states of Egypt [known then as the United Arab Republic (UAR)], Jordan, and Syria. The Six-Day War began with a large-scale surprise air strike by Israel on Egypt and ended with a major victory by Israel." |
Foreign Affairs › Re: The Banner On A Ship Carrying Jewish Refugees To Palestine In 1947 by benji93: 6:36pm On May 16, 2021 |
Can you provide a reference with respect to this claim? Please I would appreciate a source that convincingly comes to that conclusion. You cited accounts referenced by New York times(which i am still trying to find by the way). But those accounts look like reflections. They appear to be retrospective. The accounts do not tell us why the Egyptian troops, however small they are advanced. salykely: And you failed to tell your audience that under international law there are no territorial gains from war. We are no longer in medieval Europe.
"Under the UN Charter there can lawfully be no territorial gains from war, even by a state acting in self-defense. The response of other states to Israel's occupation shows a virtually unanimous opinion that even if Israel's action was defensive, its retention of the West Bank and Gaza Strip was not...The [UN] General Assembly characterized Israel's occupation of the West Bank and Gaza as a denial of self determination and hence a 'serious and increasing threat to international peace and security.' "John Quigley, "Palestine and Israel: A Challenge to Justice."
Secondly you lied when u said the Arab countries started the 1948 war. Yes Egypt started the 1973 October war in retaliation for the 1948 war. Israeli military historians agree to the fact that the war was stated by Israel.
"The former Commander of the Air Force, General Ezer Weitzman, regarded as a hawk, stated that there was 'no threat of destruction' but that the attack on Egypt, Jordan and Syria was nevertheless justified so that Israel could 'exist according the scale, spirit, and quality she now embodies.'...Menahem Begin had the following remarks to make: 'In June 1967, we again had a choice. The Egyptian Army concentrations in the Sinai approaches do not prove that Nasser was really about to attack us. We must be honest with ourselves. We decided to attack him.' "Noam Chomsky, "The Fateful Triangle."
"I do not think Nasser wanted war. The two divisions he sent to The Sinai would not have been sufficient to launch an offensive war. He knew it and we knew it." Yitzhak Rabin, Israel's Chief of Staff in 1967, in Le Monde, 2/28/68
"Moshe Dayan, the celebrated commander who, as Defense Minister in 1967, gave the order to conquer the Golan...[said] many of the firefights with the Syrians were deliberately provoked by Israel, and the kibbutz residents who pressed the Government to take the Golan Heights did so less for security than for the farmland...[Dayan stated] 'They didn't even try to hide their greed for the land...We would send a tractor to plow some area where it wasn't possible to do anything, in the demilitarized area, and knew in advance that the Syrians would start to shoot. If they didn't shoot, we would tell the tractor to advance further, until in the end the Syrians would get annoyed and shoot.
And then we would use artillery and later the air force also, and that's how it was...The Syrians, on the fourth day of the war, were not a threat to us.'" The New York Times, May 11, 1997 |
