Then he should seek employment for the position of a scout. The last i checked he's getting paid to coach. And let's wait till he meets the big guys before we decide if he's improving or not. 12large1: |
Any reason why he can't be that tactician himself? 12large1: |
I am sorry to say this but you are definitely from another planet. There's no such thing as finding a system that works for all our players. Our usefulness in whatever endeavour is not infinite. One will become useless at a point, perhaps cos of age or the use of outdated tools, in which case one may have to update. There's no such system that continuously benefits from its subjects. It will definitely end at a point. If cashing out is another benefit-which i believe isn't, unless you get a useful player- then that's a reasonable point. If well planned, we can cash out on Lingard. nitrogen: |
Today na sunday. The Lingard case study encourages all to change their prayer point from I wan go America, I wan go Canada, I wan go Uk to I wan go where i go flourish even if na Sambisa. Ladies and gentlemen you are watching greatness unfold before ya. Typical example of the stone which the builders refused has become the chief cornerstone. @nitrogen while your point is no terrible, but perhaps you could open your mind to other perspectives. Some may consider it a good thing that we don't ruin our players before sending them away. Some may even think we care about our players including the struggling ones, so we do whatever it is we can to help them including sending them away. . Don't be too Nigerian for your own sake my friend. ![]() |
Pogba hater? I don't follow. nitrogen: |
Stop watching the back of your TV. . Are we referring to the same team that regularly features McFred, hoping that their gidigidi and tireless runs could come close to fitting the role of an actual DM/CDM? A midfield combination that lacks the ability to get balls through? And the fact that our centerbacks are slow? Or the fact that Wan Bissaka's usefulness drops from above 80 to below 50 from defence to offence? And some of you here will never learn. Bruno is our player, so that "if he was injured" bullshit is bullshit. If we had the injuries that Liverpool had/have is bullshit too. It's part of the game. Deal with it. And it looks like your hope that we get hit by a lot of injuries at once may never happen. The last time i checked they said Ole is a very lucky coach. As long as he doesn't run out of Insha Allahs, all things will work together for good. I hope you are a trader though, cos i believe that would fit your talents well. All your permutation, combination and extrapolation no be here. . Now tell me, how many teams with lower quality squads are doing better than us at the moment? C0dednew: |
In the spirit of unity, i would like to admonish us to stay on point. If you wan argue say benji is unemployed, argue am no tell me say benji no dey find work. , especially when you don see how him shoe don chop. |
@patricmuf, i hope you are oding well. You know you are my special brother, but please just stop this nonsense. It's ok to hate the gaffer's style of play especially because he depends too much on Insha Allah, as you all have suggested. Besides, i wish we all have that kind of luck in our lives. . If na kick and run our players dey to courtesy of Ole, we can agree that kick-and-run qualifies as a decent strategy. Ultimately your results judge your strategy. I don't like MOU's style of play, but if he's bringing in the trophies, na to fem dey look. . Now if your argument is regarding the fact that Ole has not won anything, then I may not be able put forth a convincing argument to counter, but on this no strategy blabla, sheath your sword abeg. Definitely not in the syllabus.patrickmuf: |
I am still waiting for the day Ole runs out of luck. . He seems to have an unlimited supply of Inshallahs. |
Na joke now, you are not quite the Ole fan. patrickmuf: |
One of those unusually uneventful matches with a good result. I'll take that. |
Because of wetin you talk James go score today. ![]() Oasis007: |
Why the bolded, when i clearly mentioned that my argument doesn't go beyond that. Besides, I never said people in their 20's. I said it's until 20. 20 is an the upper limit. I do apologize for making such an assumption with respect to your knowledge. That was an assumption based on past history. I clearly mentioned that. I used the first article for the 20 upper limit. You could certainly find another article that suggests an age lesser than 20, which I wouldn't argue with cos it's clear for these developmental periods are not quite specific. You will always have a plus or minus, but i would appreciate it if you post one, so we know your argument at least has support. Now there's certainly the issue of reliability of a source, which can be ignored as we don't have lots of journal publications on the subject. The second article does suggest that the catching up occurs by late high school, but does not indicate the age while another suggests it narrows. Perhaps classifying the argument as correct is a little too confident but the 20 years cap is quite reasonable, considering the age problem. For the last bolded, i cannot argue with that. It is certainly disingenuous. The guy made a lot of points, the ugly part was clearly not the only one. We could go back and forth on what his end was, but that's beside the point, cos he did make multiple points, even though they probably shouldn't belong in the same test. However, when I first mentioned you I clearly indicated which of those points I was supporting, so again bringing up the "ugly" thing is definitely not on point, but again it could have been cos you misinterpreted my initial argument. https://www.baronnews.com/2020/02/28/why-do-girls-mature-faster-than-boys/#:~:text=Girls%20physically%20mature%20faster%20than,to%20their%20differences%20in%20biology. https://shine365.marshfieldclinic.org/kids-health/boys-girls-maturity-gap/ McSquishi: |
Point of correction my argument was on maturation and nothing more. The evidence out there clearly shows women live longer than men on average. On another note, the maturation period we are talking about continues until 20 on average, and for the most part, they overlap, only that one starts earlier and slows down while the other speeds up. So if the 20 is a reasonable upper age limit in the early maturity race, then on average by the end of high school, males still would have some catching up to do, cos in general Nigerians leave high school by 17 these days. And by that a girl is matured enough for marriage. I never referred to the 'ugly' part, which i believe was out of place, so it's unnecessary to bring that up. Stay on point. . And you made another point on the issue of pressure. Yes the society pressures women into marriage, and this has been the case for a long time because until recently having kids was a source of joy, and some would consider it a divine command, given that the major religions emphasize on the importance of kids to a marriage, and the fact that the age for menopause has recessed, the pressure is a social necessity, but there have been several medical advancements which allow women to have their own kids even after hitting menopause. Given this, that social pressure is bound to wane. Besides do not make it seem as if the pressure comes from only men. A significant part of it comes from your camp: Your peers, our sisters, and mothers.McSquishi: |
I find it hard to understand how you claim women don't mature earlier than men but claim you studied a program under the category of the biological sciences. Perhaps you only just have a degree, and you have no idea the significance of doing thorough research. In today's world you learn far more out of a classroom than in it. By out of it i mean purposeful research work. The guy was reasonably correct in saying women mature(ripen) earlier. Below is a reference to a study. https://www.eurekalert.org/pub_releases/2013-12/nu-bcm121913.php McSquishi: |

There's a guy running all over the place. Can someone please tell him to do some actual thinking before dumping his garbage here? I cannot believe someone would mention an assistant coach in the same sentence as Sir Ferguson. I mean the man won in 99 without this Carlos. Besides which managers do not need assistance in coaches? This guy has not won anything as a manager, but someone thinks he almost singlehandedly won trophies for Manchester United as an assistant manager. Perhaps his coaching acumen is best suited for assistant coaching jobs. , hence his failure as a manager. What a bunch of rubbish. For your information, the Barcelona team we lost to twice is arguably one of the most talented in the history of the champions league. The previous year when we beat them, it wasn't as if we beat the shit out of them. We won by an aggregate of 1-0, There's only so much a coach can do when he comes against a team superior in talent. |
How many of them were as a Manchester United manager? Illimitable: |
As much as i do think Ole was or is still probably lacking that coaching pedigree, charisma or whatever spirit that possesses those great coaches , and hence the reason he couldn't find a way to get us into the knockout stage. I do think some bad luck played its part in our inability to get to the next stage. Maybe the fact that most people thought we wouldn't get out of that group commanded enough spirit to quel that initial run until the last 2 games, which undid us. The problem i have though with some of our opinions here is that half of the time they are shallow and address situations retrospectively. Issues like, we were leading the group with 2 games to go, are retrospective. You wouldn't have been able to predict some of the things that happened over those last 2 games. But i still think he should have been able to draw or win one of those last 2 games. Our team did succumb to factory settings, a characteristic of a team not there yet.olabode89: |
That anyone thinks this bullshit is applicable today baffles me and tells me you need to be properly schooled. . Meanwhile, until Tuchel wins a trophy with Chelsea all the he's only lost one bullshit is bullshit. Ole has had a number of long unbeaten runs too. So that's nothing new, and our yardstick for measuring Ole's success has jumped up to winning trophies. Besides we all know new coaches usually channel all of their energy into getting an underwhelming team back to winning ways, then after a period of time the players return back to factory settings. .Anyone that doesn't consider this in their opinions needs to go back to Sunday school or Ile kewu.Illimitable: |
The man is 86 for crying out loud. Cut him some slack Zendinho: |
You need some education madam. Culture is a way of life of a people, not some of the people. Instead of addressing someone, you don't know as a boy, perhaps you can actually do some listening and relearning. The fact that something exists or happens doesn't make it a culture. There were people who dealt in slaves, as in it was their business, and as it turns out most of these people that were sold to slavery were sent away against their will. You define something as cultural when a lot of people do it. The fact that a lot of people are at the receiving end of something doesn't make that thing cultural. For instance, would you call the Jewish holocaust a cultural thing among the jews? No. Nobody wants to be sold to slavery or get killed. I do understand that it's the limit of your knowledge. But pleas it's ok to be partially ignorant if you are willing to learn. And don't throw phrases like "mummy's boy" blablabla around just to create the impression that you are well enlightened. It doesn't help. For your information, i am a full-grown independent man, and i have been for a long time. . Not that it matters anyway, just a note.Queenlovely: |
Interesting example you presented there. . But you are wrong, slavery was a thing, but it wasn't cultural. Saying it was cultural only means most of our forefathers and mothers were involved in selling and buying slaves as property. Give it another thought.Queenlovely: |
No, i am sorry dear feminist. It's either you have no idea what you are saying or you or you are just deliberately avoiding the fact. Feminism is about the equality of both sexes, at least on the face of it, on all grounds. Wikipedia says so. How you achieve that is another thing. Fighting for women's rights, empowerment blablala are some of the means to that end. That's the goal. If you think otherwise, then i cannot help but doubt your awareness, or the people under the banner of feminism are just some confused set of people, who define the goal differently. I am not looking at the how, but the intent. I don't have a problem with the means, cos they could serve other purposes. So you see my comment on the scripture thing was with respect to the known definition for feminism. If you find a biblical verse where it was stated that women should aspire to be equal to women then we can have a discussion. Of course, you can ask for higher salaries if you think women are paid disproportionately less, but no you cannot ask for equal pay if you don't do as much. Sadly most of the people championing feminism are not leaders in their respective fields. You cannot come ut and demand for something you don't deserve, just because you think you should get it. How about you empower yourself? Work your ass off, study hard and then see if you won't get the position you deserve. You must standout amongst your male peers to deserve as much as they do. We'll not lower the bar just because you are women. You cannot tell me that because you got 60 out of 70, you think you deserve the job of someone who scored 90/100. I look at it and tell you there are 30 other things you lack lady, so you cannot get the job. You are studying for 70 things, and i am studying for 100 things. Very simple. If you want equality work hard at equaling men in capacity and performance, and stop crying yen yen yen. YelloweWest: |
A very important point in life. Quote the scriptures only when it actually aligns with your point. That verse doesn't support feminism in any way. YelloweWest: |
@JohnBullSon, you have no idea what you are talking about. And i fear for your knowledge of the game. I believe you are talking about the save in the 64th minute by Maduka. His theatrics made that save look better than it should have. Some goalkeepers will even hold onto that. . That being said i fear for your knowledge cos the two scenarios are not the same in any way. Saying they are is quite disingenuous. The save by Maduka was a weak header headed for the corner. There's no way he parries that back into play cos he was a little late to be honest. For the Uzoho save that led to a goal that was ruled offside, that ball was nowhere close to the corner, so it had to be parried back into play. Although I do think he could have done better, i would lay some of the blame on those two defenders that momentarily lost focus and left those two Lesotho players, unless of course, they were creating an offside trap, which could have been the case. You were all over the place, i have proof blablabla. Sorry, that was terrible proof. Find another. JohnBullMySon: |
I am watching the highlights of Benin vs Nigeria now because of @JohnBullMySon cos I would like very much to confirm his observations and thus his reason for thinking Maduka has better reflexes than Ezoho. I will get back to all of us on the matter. But I noticed something in a 27th minute highlight. Although the Beninois defender was close a world-class player doesn't hit the ball like that. |@Team Ndidi is a superstar.Because of you i'll start looking at them more closely. Attached is a video of some of the highlights of our match vs Benin. At 6:25 of video, Maduka made a bad judgement call there, he could easily have been picking the ball out his net. I can understand it when people question his stability. check: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lMIKwwhuM6s |
What kind of bullshit is this bro. Common. okoroemeka: |
How about you try to prove that Okoye has better reflexes? . Besides until a player joins a team and actually gets featured "Ajax want Okoye to replace Onana" is just another of those stories.JohnBullMySon: |
