FamilyRe: Confusion In My Very Young Marriage by benny4wax(m): 5:34pm On Feb 28, 2020
Why do I get the feeling you desperately want your fiancee's genotype to be AS?? Abi you don tire and is busy looking for excuse to break things up with her.
Invisible123:
Good evening all,

I have just found myself in a dilemma that's really disturbing me emotionally. I need matured and candid advice from anyone who cares.

Just recently, myself and my fiancee concluded our introduction ceremony. The wedding comes up middle of this year.

Now the problem :

My fiancee is pregnant, early last month I registered her for anti natal in a very reputable hospital in Lagos. It is standard practice that they run series of tests before commencement of the treatment. After the results came out, my wife didn't disclose the findings to me, she kept it to herself until a day after the introduction.

The results indicated that her genotype is AS of which I'm also AS. Note that we had gone for checks 4 times before committing to each other, on all four occasions the results came out as AA for her. Her mum also confirmed that she is AA, she claimed she got her tested when she was young. Immediately she told me, I got so confused, I started sweating profusely. I immediately took her to another Lab close to the general hospital in my area. We both ran the test, I came our as my usual AS while she came out as AA. Also, Today, just to be sure again, she ran another test in a separate hospital on the Island and she also came out as AA.

My fear:

The hospital I registered her in is a reputable hospital and that's the reason I'm scared. I informed the hospital of my findings, they took another sample and promised to get back to me. It took them two days to call me, they left me and my wife in emotional distress while devising a means to clear their name or confuse me with medical terms. They finally called today and told me she has the AS hemoglobin in her blood but the AA is more pronounced. This got me confused cos if the AA is more pronounced, why release the result as AS in the first place. This is why I find their story hard to believe.

I feel they came up with this excuse just to justify their claim and cover up their mistake. How can 6 clinics and hospitals test her as AA while only this hospital says AS.

Note, just this evening a new test from a separate hospital says she's AA.

Nairalanders, please what do I do? Is it possible for this anomaly to happen ? Is it possible for her to have AS and AA hemoglobin at the same time where one will be more pronounced than the other. And if it's possible, what her the chances of my baby coming out fine.

Thanks Nairalanders.

This is a welcome development. Justice must surely catch up with all looters of our common patrimony. FFK, Fayose, Theodore Orji and son should be next. Kudos to EFCC for deligently prosecuting this case despite all the dramas from the accused who is now a convicted criminal. Kudos also to the fearless judge, he really did well despite Metuh’s theatrics throughout the trial.
What else am I expecting, let's keep bringing our own people down. You mentioned all the names above forgetting that the real criminals are up North and the funniest thing is they protect each other.

How many Northern elites have been sentenced to jail for any crime whatsoever?? None. Pls, don't mention Dasuki cus he has been released.

Let me ask you another question, who is the Federal Government huh The federal Government of Nigeria is the Northern Elite and they are busy witchhunting who so ever they wish to.

I am not an advocate of curruption, infact I detest it. All I ask for is a levelled playing field for all and sundry. Let's be wise. We are just pawn in their game of chess.

Pls, shut up and stop generalising issues. Some fathers are better dead than alive. No provoke me ooo. I am a man and I will never be anything like my father, thats my personal opinion. Pls, allow others air their own opinions too without throwing tantrums.
vizkiz:
It is not difficult to identify a bastard nowadays.

Just take a look at these kids undermining the post of a father in their lives. The system has so much brought down the role of a father. Making him look like a figure head. Praising the mother alone.

Little wonder we have so many days assigned to praise women and just a day to notice the value of a man (Father’s day). Most times the Father’s Day come and go without anyone noticing it

Same father who worked all his life to take care of his family? Same father who will risk his life day and night just to put food on the table? Same father who paid your fees from the very first day you were born till you started earning your own money? Same father who put a roof over your head and even assigned your own room? (No wonder men die early)

Only for him to be cheated again when he is to reap the fruit of his Labour. Little wonder most of you are cursed. It is because you have offended God and man by being a fool.

Just take a look at the cheap gold-digging girls we have nowadays. All they do is look for a ready made man. So after having kids for that guy, those unfortunate kids will rather take care of her than their father who has worked for money all his life?

What happened to 50:50? To hell with you simpletons.

My mum has done a whole lot for me and I’ll do anything just to make her happy but my dad (bless his soul) deserves as much love and happiness.

Even the 50:50 sef, my dad will still buy gifts for mum from that money. I understand most of you are not from stable homes sha...Una dey use una family problem judge the matter.

EducationRe: What Was Your Craziest Answer To A Question In School? by benny4wax(m):
Mine happened when I was in secondary school. Amuwo Odofin Senior High School Mile 2, Lagos. Back then due to one or two things, I decided to change from Science class in SS 1 to Art in SS 2.

It was my first day in Art class and the first subject of the day was Literature. we read a poem titled African thunder storm by David Rubadiri. After reading the poem, the Literature teacher looked at me and asked me "what is the subject matter of this poem" huh huh huh. I for just keep quiet ooo, but my I too know will not allow me so I replied with all boldness "the subject matter is solid, liquid and gas". grin grin grin grin grin

The kind laugh wey dem laugh me that day eh, it felt as if the ground should just open up and swallow me. Till date (5 years after graduating from the University) my secondary school mates still call me solid, liquid and gas.

I later got to find out that just like me the literature teacher was also having his first class as a teacher in the school. I went on to become the best literature student in the school. (I think that experience was the driving force for me later becoming the best Art student in the school till I wrote my WAEC and graduated from there).
PoliticsRe: Boko Haram Bombs Gwoza, Borno Mosque by benny4wax(m): 11:18am On Feb 01, 2020
Before I begin, I believe we are all accountable to our actions and inactions. I also believe we have good Muslims, I am a Christian but my god father is a devoted Muslim and he is a very good man.

Immediately I saw your comment I wanted to ignore it but NO! let me enlightene you a little. I was born in the North, I have lived all my life in the North. I did my NYSC in Yobe state (Less than 1 hour drive before Maiduguri). So I think I know better.

How many people were killed in this attack?? Just one (and that may possibly be the suicide bomber). Compare this to the number of Casualties recorded in bombings within Kano, Yobe, Kaduna and some other Northern states. Does it mean the Boko Haram suicide bombers are not aware of the praying time at the mosques?? I think this is just an unnecessary distraction to deceive people like you and I from seeing what actually is going on. From this day onward whenever you read of an attack in the mosques, enquire about the number of Casualties and see the pattern.

You can hardly compare the number of Christians killed for no reason to that of the Muslim killed in the past 4 years in Nigeria.

budaatum:
Ignorance! That's what makes people not understand that boko haram have killed more Muslims than Christians. They just refuse to understand that boko haram is not an Islamic outfit, but a terrorist group.

Christianity EtcTrue Life Story: A Friends Remarkable Experience At The Ikeja Mall by benny4wax(op):
A friend of mine ( A young lady) visited the Ikeja Mall . While standing at the entrance, She was suddenly approached by one of the Fulani girls from the maghreb who beg for money. The little girl smiled towards her and spoke pidgin saying "Aunty, make you give me money make I buy food chop". Then the young lady smiled back and replied, "I have not also eaten since morning".

The little girl asked her if its really true and the Lady said "Oh yes". Then the little girl handed the lady all the naira notes she had in her hand to buy some food. The young lady was surprised so She asked the little girl if she could really use her money and she said yes . When the lady counted the money, it was 100 and 10 naira .The lady then told her it won't be enough to buy food .The girl then asked the young lady to wait for a minute. The girl rushed to a corner where she keeps all her money and brought 200 naira. Then the little girl said "300 naira should be enough to buy rice" . The lady then told her that she would still need water. She then asked the young lady to wait so she begs people for money for her. After about 15 minutes, the little girl came back with 10 naira and gave to the young lady. She then told the young lady that She can give her directions to a canteen which food is affordable . The young lady followed her. While the young lady was engaging her in conversation at the canteen,
People starred at them and others said the young lady shouldn't mind her because she was a beggar but she ignored them. While they waited, the young lady asked her some questions. The little girl was called Leila and was10yrs old.

Then the young lady asked why she gave her all her money. This was her reply in english.
she said "You are hungry Aunty. I am a beggar and I can beg for money when am hungry but you cannot". At this point, the young lady had tears in her eyes and now people were wondering what conversation they were having that had put tears in her eyes.
She gave her back her money but the girl was disappionted so she asked why.The young lady told her that she was only waiting for a friend who is inside the Mall and wanted company. She ordered enough food for the girl and some drinks. She took the girl to her Car and took pictures with her.

I am sure you have learnt something from this. Christianity is behaving like Christ. This little girl is more Christian than many of us who go to Church 24/7.
If you are a Christian, First. live the life of Christ. Let's live daily like we have no tomorrow to live.

My brother, I am not surprised at all. One thing I am sure about is that in years to come, the south and the west will understand that the Igbo's are right after all. Their approach in tackling this issue may be bad but they have a point when they say that Nigeria is a failed experiment that only benefits the North and asslickers to the Norths.

The temptation to quote you was so much, I couldn't resist it.

First and foremost, I completely disagree with you on your stand that we can't suffer for the sin of the world or yourself all in a bid to appease God. Go and and tell that to Catholic monks (Priests) who decided to isolate themselves from civilization and instead choose to live in thick forests with wild animals, while pastors of new generation churches leave luxurious lifestyles at the expense of their members.

In conclusion, ask yourself "why then do we christians fast??" I believe your pastor encourages fasting and penance.

Let's stop this Church bashing. As Christians, we all share in the grace of Christs resurrection. Shalom
brainhgeek:
Christ became our sacrifice and Passover. You can't suffer for the sin of the world or yourself all in a bid to appease God. If that is a prerequisite to redemption then, don't you think Jesus died in vain? Fasting is best done to appreciate and honor God amongst other reasons however.
