petaling:NSE do not confer the title enigeer on you but COREN please get this right. Statutory only COREN has the right to do so. Please provide proof that only in Nigeria that the title engineer is used. I would like to know. |
~Bluetooth:Yes he did. VP Goodluck Jonathan moved to camp 5 belonging to Tompolo in 2008(MEND gave a boundary where the JTF gunboats should not exceed and the VP was excorted by them to camp)He engaged MEND in a peace talk and thereafter they called for ceasefire in a couple of months. BetaThings:See answer above. |
@Kpogede77, Please stop hitting up the polity by giving false information. Which creek do you live and how do you get the socalled cult composition of MEND. I can tell you, you know nothing about MEND than some of the people here on the political section of NL. Naturally no one is happy with the way things are in the country North or South. Please let the sleeping dog be! |
If Nigerians can simply say sorry when they are wrong and settle problems just like the above, then the world will be moving towards a perfect paradise. |
slap1:Bros, you have not heard any shiiit, guns or bombs before STFU dont come on a faceless online to say rubbish. Those who have seen will not pray for it anymore. No man is indestructible. I have seen 99.9% but will not pray to see the remainder so STFU. We need peace now or we separate and go ourways as countries. |
dayokanu:From all your post in the last one month or so, it appears you have deep rooted hatred for GEJ not because of performance but ethnic affiliation. Please do not develop BP as it is common this days. 1025:So in your widest dreams, this problems just started. Wake up man. One area is giving you FOI and no fuel queue as jara |
Βουκέφαλος:We call them paper tiger. When the real show will start you cant find them. |
OP, I am sure when you get the voting result you will pray for more natural disaster to happen in other states to make comparison say Okorocha vs GEJ. RUBBISH THREAD. |
Lucifa2015:At this stage the Army do not consider anyone as innocent. 10yrs old carrying bomb and what do you expect. For those crying out loud, STFU, please get a feel of what ND especillay the Ijaw villages have seen in the hand of the Airforce, Army and Navy. I have not even seen Apache helicopters and you are shouting. GEJ please order them to level anything in the North like they did in Ayakoromo village late last year and May this year. |
That's the Otuoke boy that never knew he would rule Nigeria one day. Who God has blessed no man can curse. oyb:Yes then may be no comb too but na he has millions of combs and shoes! |
@Olumide, Point of correction,I can tell you authoritively they started as street cults fighting each other in Port Harcourt. In 2001 there were series of fight between Soboma led iceland of Town area of port harcourt vs Levi led group of Diobu. Oil bunkering was ongoing without this boys involved(other big boys were involved prior to 2000). My village owns one of the foremost creeks used for bunkering activities. Let me stop and go back to work. I rest my case. |
~Bluetooth: |
0lumide:Soboma was the de facto leader of Icelander cult which merged with Ateke Tom( Niger Delta Vigilante) and became Ateke second in command till in 2004 October when he killed one Minabo that led to him surrending himself for arrest after serious man hunt. He later broke jail in 2005 and led another breakaway faction called outlaws(mainly cult group) He got the sympathy of some MEND leaders in Rivers State like Dagogo Farah until he had problem with them in late 2008. He later re-united with Ateke Tom as JTF and MEND where after him and he needed to survive. While he is dead(2010) now as you know and I do not want to speak on who killed him. This is still sensitive in Port Harcourt. |
phreakabit:Good. I can give a full day lecture on MEND and other militant activities in the ND but time. I will leave it for another day. The term MEND only came into existence after Asari Dokubo was arrested in 2005 by the Nigeria state and charged for treasonable felony. Prior to formation of MEND there were severall street cult gangs and militants outfits operating mainly in Port Harcourt and the creeks of ND. Asari Dokubo led a group simply address as voluteer force(NDPVF) that waged war against Ateke Tom Niger Delta Vigilante(Iceland cult) over supremacy and maily linked to oil bunkering activities. Asari continued provoked utternaces against the Nigeria goverment led to OBJ calling for his arrest. In protesting for Asari arrest, several militant group which hitherto where fighting for resource control came together to form MEND in a village close to Amassoma in Bayelsa State- mind you most of the people at the formation stage where learned hence the name Movement for Emancipation of Niger Delta. Upon formation of MEND they commence with kidnapping of foreign workers in the creeks hoping to use that to negotiate for Asari release but to no avail. This is what later degenerated to the series of kidnapping demand for ramsone and attacks on oil facilities intensifying. Although Asari was released shortly after Late Yar Adua took his oath of office, kidnapping had successfully been hijacked by criminals as a stable business that pays well. Original agitators continued their attack on oil facilities and reduced civilian casuaties as much as they can. It was always a battle between JTF and Tompolo group or JTF vs Ateke, etc. At several times the various groups fight themselves when boundaries are crossed hence making the job easier for JTF. Whereas the agitations has brought about increased funding in NDDC, creation of Niger Delta Ministry, more attention to ND indigenes in recent recruitment/scholarship, etc. Although I personally condem some of the activities of the militants of ND, BOKO HARAM cannot be compared to them. Boko haram SHOULD TELL THEIR PEOPLE WHAT THEY STAND TO BENEFIT IF NOT FOR THE FOOLISH 72 VIRGINS. |
baslone:I forgive you because you do not know the ND boys very well. In a single show in 2009 Boko Haram lost their leader, whereas ND boys fought and reduce oil output to quarter over a period of 8years. They have known and well manned camps with anti-aircraft guns. If you are from the creeks of ND like me, we have seen several wars lasting days of continuous non stop fire for fire with JTF and ND boys. Corpses from both sides floating everywhere. Please do not compare- the ND was a struggle of resources and development although later hijacked by kidnappers/criminals. It was not a religious battle for ND so no one planned suicide bombing otherwise, may be no oil again to loot. Any way Army should act professionally and save the innocent lives which was the reason they were sent. If the entire maiduguri was BH infested, you can kill everyone I dont care but the criminals always live among the innocents. SSS what is your job make stupid statement of not prosecuting the arrested BH when you do not have the constitutional authority to do so. |
killayut:Your point is flawed on the bolded. No zoning on ministerial appointment in Rivers state. Otherwise why did Ajumogobia serve in OBJ, Yar Adua and GEJ. Except you are a die hard PDP in Rivers state from same village with Nyesor Wike, then you can claim is nomination is welcomed. Answer one simple question is he a professional /technocrat or mediocre? |
Pafuri:Well it appears it is 3 times reduction of what we had earlier prior to the elections but then again we are seeing some of the porfolio not been necessary at all- which means 10 should be more than enough. Sarah Jibril has got something to bite atlast. A woman that lacks idea finally made it to SA. Goodluck to all the SAs. |
Back to OP, I would think that Tonye Cole is a technocrat/professional compared to Ezebunwo Nyesor Wike going by is background. He has never really been on the political scene except his father who contested for governorship in 90's. From some of the activities of Ezebunwor Wike, Chief of staff government house, which is hampering the governors' smooth running of the state he has since opted for the chief of staff to be out of his circles. First he tried pushing him to the senate which did not work out but now seems possible since the governors have say in the ministerial nominee. |
EzeUche:I agree with this in terms of city. Please note Uyo is coming up to that list as next. |
afam4eva:I sympathesize at your ignorance. I am a full born of Rivers from riverrine(Ijaw) extraction. Born in Port Harcourt, schooled here and working in Port Harcourt. Please try and honor Rhino invitation to clear your doubts. I will be willing to invite you if you don't mind also. |
EzeUche:Thanks for heeding to advice. |
Chyz*:keep deceiving yourself! the people you call Igbo will almost cut your neck if you tell them dis on their face. |
ogagusps3:The garden city games are not going on fine as expected. We had the hosting right in 2009 and He bent on building a new stadium when liberation stadium elekahia and civic centre were already good to go but needed little touches. The goverment deployed over N12bn for a new stadium last year which has resulted to the games been shifted thrice before it commenced. Hurriedly the goverment rushed to do some renovations on liberation staduim but besides inside the stadium, I can tell you as a Rivers indigene it was really embarassing the environs of the stadium. Their are many issues ranging from no accommodation as the athletes are forced to lodge in uniport without food and water. The games village has not been roofed yet and the access road to the new stadium is just not there. Too many things to point at. It is a big time flaw. Back at the OP, Amaechi has definetely gone to sleep after winning the elections based on merit of the last tenure. He needs to wake up. Potholes have gone deep to an extent of 2ft to 3ft depth with resultant damages on cars. There are too many things to complain. Flooding is killing the city. Most people who heard about the new Rivers State will be disappointed on visiting. |
In Port Harcourt, cement is sold around N1700-N1850 before now with this development it could be around N1500 which is better than 2 months ago of N2700. My fear is how long before another excuse comes to play again for a rise. VoodooDoll:You are right, may just be the game! |
EzeUche:The topic is about Ijaw and Urhobo so why do you Ezeuche like attacking Ijaws all the time? When the yoruba dealt with you on NL we Ijaws were sympathetic so why do like attacking us. |
Omo_Tier1:Well it is difficult to expantiate on what the transformation agenda GEJ has for us. He keeps singing it like a slogan everywhere he goes but nothing to show for it. If he can stick to 20 SA approved by senate last week without increasing it to 57 SA then it is transformation. If only he can cut down unnecessary expenses and channel same to real sector then it is transformation. If only the refineries can be privitized and allowed to function on full capacity then we can see transformation on the offering. If only security issues are not generalised as been happening everywhere in the world and dealt with squarely then transformation is really coming to our door step. Any departure from the past that gives hope for tomorrow will be seen as transformation in the offering but none for now. |
Carrot and stick approach/policy. I have never heard a policy like that. I am surprised at the way security issues are handled in this country. So if the BH guys know they will not be prosecuted how will it lessen the ones out there still waiting to carry out attacks. We are in a failed country. |
I have read through all the post without anyone explaining precisely what it takes to be called an engineer in Nigeria. By law only the Council for Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria(COREN) has the right to qualify one as such and not Nigeria Society of Engineers. COREN requirement do specify an engineering background at first degree and a minimum of 4 years post graduation practice with technical report writing and written exams. With professor Nnaji masters and PhD at Engineering, it adequately qualify him for registration- if only he would register with COREN. He has more than what it takes to be called an Engineer. I think personally it was an act of ommision for NSE president to have made that statement- afterall they have hurriedly collected a million naira and registered CEO/MD of companies overnight without any exams. Gbawe et al, I think you are right with your critic on GEJ. Personally I feel ashame of GEJ as I was a strong supporter of him pre/post election may be not on NL that much but in the real Nigeria--though do not believe in PDP. Some of his selling points which we taught would be departure from past is already failing by the day. A good dance starts with the first step they say. Things are getting worst by the day. Why on earth will NNPC be given an unrealistic mandate to get the refineries working in 2 years. I see why you guys call him cluesless. |
ow11:Good talk |
na_so:Your excellency, sir, please kindly tell us your achievement since you came into office and also how NL has affected you. |
udezue:If you say so but the Ijaw land has 70% of the oil and 97% of the boys you call militant that cripple oil production by a third. If you are from the SS or south name one man that commands the respect he has. This however does not take away his excesses but do jump here and claim he is not relevant. |
Moderators, You guys are doing good job. Infact you are tolerant enough for not banning close to 30% of the contributors to political forum as they mostly turn tribal as soon as a topic is posted. Please ban more of them permanently to create sanity. I have learnt a lot since I joined NL but also felt at times Nigeria was more divided than I imagined- but looking at the real Nigeria she seem to be more tolerant than we the so-called englightened ones on NL hence my signature. |
make stupid statement of not prosecuting the arrested BH when you do not have the constitutional authority to do so.
