An independent newspaper comes up with conjectures about events in the Akwa Ibom Gubernatorial Tribunal, without any reference to PMB or Tinubu. The OP mischievously puts their names on the title of the post to achieve some dubious purpose. Typically, those who are averse to reading will quickly jumped on the thread to slate the president. |
Yet if a certain tribe or religion does so, it is given an ethnic or religious colouration. |
I'll comment when I confirm the authenticity of the news. |
Waiting... |
moshino:I could speculate or conjecture but may not really know the circumstances surrounding that outing. I'm just a political observer. |
sweetpies:Yours Truly just wrote it now. |
A state loan that was already requested and approved long before PMB became president. The only reason why PMB is sending a request letter to the NA is because it is a foreign loan and so requires Sovereign backing. Also, it may have been included in the loan offer letter that one of the "conditions precedent to drawdown" is that the president must make the request on behalf of the state. |
I remember 3 months ago when Saraki played a fast one on APC, and some people hailed his treachery and slimy attitude as being politically savvy. Fast forward to 3 months, the APC deals their first hand and everybody cries witch-hunt. I believe things will go sober again for a while. The CCB case might even get to the Appeal Court and Supreme Court which will take months, but something tells me that sooner or later the rug will be pulled of Saraki’s feet. It's like a Chess Game where you make one strategic move after another until your opponent's King is finally cornered. A smart opponent will see the signs and resign while others will continue playing till their King is Checkmated. The fact that PMB has met with the HOR Speaker more than once and yet has completely fenced off the Senate President for over 4 months is very instructive. 84 Senators passing a Vote of Confidence on the Senate President is completely inconsequential to events happening at the CCT. |
This is a clear case of witch-hunt but a very welcome one. I am also positive that the president is complicit on the matter. You see, uneasy lies the head that wears the crown. I can assure that if exlink10 becomes a threat to her friend, then her hands better be clean else the friend will expose and vilify her. If politicians and Public officials know that they will be witch-hunted by their opponents, just maybe they will begin to conduct their affairs with higher probity. |

ivili:I never intended to make you shift your convictions. I'm sure they were formed by so many factors I may not understand and cannot influence. I can assure you that the problem of Nigerian leaders has little to do with Age, but more to do with Character. |
. |
ivili:No matter how many heartbreaks you experience, you still find reasons to fall in love again. Those of you who are Christians believe that Jesus is coming soon. Even though your fathers and the ones before them believed so and it never happened, yet you still believe. My point is that you can't chose the path of despair even when things aren't working as you hoped they would. My optimism is measured and cautious, but yes I still believe. |
fr3do:Ok then, i'll send you weapons to start crucifying him, if that would make you happy. Most Nigerians never turned on the former president till atleast 2 years of his administration. |
I do not like the Senate President and can't wait to see him off that seat. However, I must admit that was a really good and properly scripted speech. He clearly does not want to join issues with PMB. He tactically exonerates the president from his CCT ordeal and also commits to work with the president to advance the country. He even enjoins his fellow Senators to treat the ministerial list with dispatch. |
The fact that Saraki is using this medium to advance his cause is a clear admission of guilt. Should he not be answering his case at the CCT rather than trying to use Street action to dissuade or armtwist the Presidency? As for the youths embarrassing themselves there, they should know that whatever peanuts they are getting is being paid from the proceeds of corruption. |
greatehis:Fair enough. But why not give him the benefit of doubt for at least 2 years. |
yungbillionaire:It's not peculiar to Islam. Most other religions like Judaism, Buddhism, Hinduism, etc are not as aggressive as Christians and that is why their preachers are not rich compared to Christian Emperors who call themselves GOs. |
Balanced reportage. I'm sure some people will find reasons from the article to kiss the president's ass while others will find reasons to sling mud at him. For some others, they will find reasons to either praise or vilify our "Hero". The country has never been so divided and polarized like now. Enough of the division already. Blind loyalty makes us hateful and iirrational. |
yungbillionaire:I have, but they are just a microscopic few. Most of the others who pretend to refer you to "any" Bible believing church always find a way to encourage you to come to theirs. |
yungbillionaire:No offense man. I am a passive Christian, but more of a liberal thinker and not stereotyped. |
Appareil:*lol* Well, I did get the point you were trying to get across with the scripture. Mind you, I did not approve of Homosexuality. I only expressed my disapproval of those hypocrites criticizing it. They do far worse things that destroy humanity, much more than the gay who does his thing inside his bedroom. |
Because it's Marketing and Advertisement disguised as Evangelism. |
Appareil:Ok, I've read it and what is your point. We can quote any scripture to suit any particular objective or situation. The Bible is that vast and robust. I can refer you to some verses but I won't bother. |
And how does that affect what is going on at the Code of Conduct Tribunal. The Senators must be very ignorant or leaving in denial not to have realized that this matter does not require senatorial approval. Saraki must answer to his charges, and if found guilty sent to prison. The same fate shall await any corrupt leader and that includes the Senators. |
It's not a difficult task to find credible charges against any Nigerian politician. Any WITCH who does not want to repent and amend his ways but rather wants to continue on the path of treachery shall be HUNTED down. The Senators should just respect themselves. The Nigerian people are solidly behind the president on this anti-corruption (witch-hunting) battle. |

Scatterscatter:And I agree with you completely about using legislation to support homosexuality. But trust me, over time and as more members of the society embrace it, the resistance will break down. Do you know that there was a time when Alcohol was outlawed just like Marijuana, because of the perceived impact on the society. Today, alcohol is very much part of society. Marijuana is now legal in most US states and some countries. My point is that society always find a way of finally embracing certain behavior. And do not compare homosexuality to rape, terrorism or such other vices. A person who engages in homosexuality does not HURT anyone, unlike a person who engages in the other vices. |
Scatterscatter:Homosexuality is practised all over Africa, starting from our secondary schools down to private homes. The only difference between Africa and the West is that they have brought it to the level of consciousness while we are still being pretentious and hypocritical about the issue as if it doesn't exist. African leaders can prevent legislation on the issue but they can't stop the practice. Secondly, Morality does not put food on the table. He should also focus on transforming his economy which is now in tatters. And why does a corrupt man who rules his country for more than 30 years and destroyed the economy have the moral grounds to criticize people's private lives. I'll take a homosexual person any day over a corrupt person. For the records, I am not Gay and really do not understand why anyone should be. But then, that is their private lives and it is not my place to judge them. |
poiZon:Apparently, you do not see anything good in PMB, but yet you accuse me for seeing something good in him. Elections are over. There is an important task of governance and making Nigeria better for all (both Wailers & Masturbators). You can keep your hate campaign till 2018/2019 when it will be understandable. |
sunnyb0b0:And that is why I used the phrase "appropriately priced" in my previous comment. A country that is EXPORT driven intervenes to keep its currency relatively WEAK, while a country that is IMPORT driven intervenes to keep its currency relatively STRONG. Both cases are forms of intervention - i.e not leaving one's currency completely to the vagaries of Free Market. |
poiZon:I don't have a problem if PMB takes the blame for anything bad that happens under his watch. My problem is with those who attribute anything good that happens to either the previous government or the appointee. I support PMB because I believe in his capacity to Transform the country. If I have reasons to change my mind tomorrow, I will not hesitate to do so immediately. My first loyalty and Patriotic duty is to Motherland and not to anyone occupying the office of the president. |
