Very significant improvement in my area in the last 3 days. Not constant though - like 18 hours/day.
Politics › Re: INEC Extends Voting In 300 Polling Units Out 150,000 by Bevista:
Just 0.2% of polling units affected - fair job by INEC. Even if PDP overwhelmingly rig these 300 units, it won't have any material effect on the overall results.

GMB is Nigeria's next President.

why would the young man insist on seeing the result sheets? huh.... Was he planning to run away with it, tear it, or butcher everyone in sight if he couldn't find it? undecided

Is he a party representative, Inec Staff, or Attahiru Jega himself? huh

The Dude was acting like someone who had a death-wish, so the impatient Police-man promptly obliged him...One doesn't stupidlly insist on his rights even in the face of such palpable tension...The Policeman may have had good reason to feel that the irate and stubborn youth was posing a threat to the democratic process in that area, so he did his job.... end of story angry

This is the first situation this year, where I feel that the police-man who gunned the dude down deserves a medal smiley ....

The dude should have quietly cast his vote and gone home to pray that his favorite candidate emerges the best rigger, instead of forming Rambo and testing the patience of trigger-happy policemen who can't differentiate between concerned honest citezens and Political thugs undecided

*modified

I have gotten a lot of negative mentions and abuses because of the above comment....

The situation in the country presently is very tense... This isn't the time for insisting blindly on your perceived 'rights'.... Even though the dude dude might have bee
Disgusting.
Politics › Re: Umana Calls For Cancellation Of Election In Akwa Ibom by Bevista:
Akwa Ibom was not in the equation for the General. #TeamGMB have already taken it for granted that they will loose here (and most other SS & SE states).

The results being collated so far from other parts of the country shows the General in clear lead over GEJ.

Overall, GMB is expected to coast to victory.

When I first heard that the sea borders will be closed 3 days before the elections, I was very worried about the economic rationale behind the decision. This reversal also highlights how top level decisions are taken spontaneously in this country without proper thought and consultations.

wakacome:
I asked a friend's father who is a judge at a federal high court about what do judges normally do in such cases like this one e.g concerning buhari qualification or disqualification,,he gave me an answer that "shocked"me,he quoted the bible and said"blessed is the man that acted with wisdom"..and i asked him what is he trying to say,he said "wisdom is more stronger than law"""and he kept quiet, then i started thinking to myself what is this man trying to say then i later found out from him that the court will dismiss the case for the sake of "peace and unity"in the country,i told him but nobody is above the "law"he replied and said,"wisdom is above the law".....

that got me thinking throughout yesterday........

The wisdom in what your friend's father said is quite revealing. I couldn't agree more!

What would you expect someone in the PDP presidential campaign committee to say? He needs to justify his pay. He needs to talk tough to reassure his pay masters and supporters.

By now, the PDP can only HOPE. It is out of their hands. The era of carry go is long gone.

The permutations clearly favours GMB. The card reader is the joker.

Northeast/Northwest for GMB, Southeast/Southsouth for GEJ, Northcentral/Southwest shared.

Guess which regions have the highest number of registered voters and PVC collection rate?

Guess which party controls the top 3 States with highest # of voters (Kano, Lagos, Rivers)?

Go figure!

Politics › Re: New York Times Slams President Jonathan by Bevista: 3:49am On Feb 17, 2015
That Mr. Buhari, who helped launch a coup against a democratically elected government in 1983 and ruled until late 1985, has emerged as potential winner is more of an indictment of Mr. Jonathan’s dismal rule than a recognition of the former military chief’s appeal.
Most people clamoring for GMB today supported GEJ overwhelmingly in 2011. The fact that they are happily willing to go back to an option they rejected 4 years ago shows how discontented and disillusioned these ppl are with GEJ's govt (a govt that inspired so much hope).

This is not necessarily a confidence vote per se for GMB, but rather more of a protest vote against GEJ.

Principle of Double Effect: When faced with two evil, choose the evil of lesser degree.

The paper talked about Incompetence in handling insecurity, entrenched corruption, Mismanagement of the economy, etc

Madness is doing the same thing over and over, and expecting a different result. Nigerians be wise!

Politics › Re: Nigeria To Be The Third Most Populous Country By 2050 (The Economist) by Bevista:
Wow! This could be a blessing or a curse.

This will clearly reduce our oil per capita. And with crude oil likely to loose its appeal (as the world's major source of energy), we need to begin NOW to quickly diversify the economy.

This huge population will need jobs, infrastructure, housing, etc. Failure to begin now to plan is recipe for future disaster.

Patriotic forward thinking leaders are urgently required to drive the economy. Genuine leaders who can inspire and galvanize this population to become competitively productive.

Come March 28th, do your country a duty and vote wisely, devoid of parochial sentiments. We are in a critical moment in the nation's history.

Politics › Re: Soludo Publishes Chart To Illustrate His Accusation Against GEJ by Bevista: 10:10pm On Feb 15, 2015
LRNZH:
The stolen money must not be part of the budget.

Oil bunkering money never makes it to gov't coffers. Widely accepted estimates of 400,000 barrels per day bunkered is $12Billion per annum. In 5 years, that's $60Billion already.

This is just the one we know. Soludo is not far from the truth abeg
$60B @ today's exchange rate of N210 is about N12.6T.

Soludo also posited that the average crude oil price over the last 5yrs (until recently) was $100. Considering that our budget over the same period has been predicated on an average $73 benchmark. This excess adds up to another $60B (N12.6T).

Add the alleged $20B (N4.3T) unaccounted for at NNPC.

That is how the prof came up with the estimated N30T Mismanagement.

“As far as I am concerned, President Obasanjo is entitled to his opinion, he is a respected member of our society, and we have immense respect for him. This election is about one man, one vote and we should restrict our choices and decisions to ourselves.
You must be either naive or leaving in denial. When you went around begging for endorsement, did it occur to you that those endorsing your principal are merely expressing their opinion and that they have one vote?

Why should I even bother dignifying this buffoon with a response.

Get used to it. A New Order is upon us. The King Maker has turned his back on the king - Game Over!

RoyalPriesthuud:
In as I want GEJ to go, the free hand he's given INEC to do their thing since he started ruling, through his electoral reform, has made me reserve a special portion of my heart for him. I really hope he betrays my trust not.
In 2011, GEJ was resoundingly popular with the average Nigerian. There was really no need to impose himself on INEC since it was pretty obvious he was going to win anyway.

Now that the man has lost the popular mandate he had in 2011, the real desperate man has revealed himself. The free hand u referred to will soon become handcuffed.

Trust GEJ at your peril.

There is nothing 'Goodluck' about Jonathan. His Incompetence, Ineptitude & Improbity is evident for all to see.

Jonathan has made the office of the president to loose its respect & dignity. This is by far the most ridiculed president in the world.
