savvy12:
My younger Sister has a suitor who has been disturbing her for marriage. The guy is an n-power beneficiary and currently runs his dad's little business.

The problem is that he still lives in his family house but promised my Sister that he will relocate once they get married. We told my sister not to accept his proposal because he might refuse to relocate after marriage.

Note: he stays in the village and he is a graduate too.
No way..he must get an apartment in the city..if not your sister should not agree at all..

Scaredd:
I've noticed on similar threads seeking migration advice to Canada that almost everyone advises leave the country and I'm like "is it so good in Canada?

The only reason I want to travel to Canada or any other high profile country is to make far more money than I make in Nigeria.

Now, by the Grace of God I earn over 800k monthly with promising potentials for more. I'm 32yrs and planning to settle down next year, but with so many advises saying "leaving the country to Canada is the best choice", I'm so confused right now as per what's the best choice for me. I even watched a video where a guy living in canada said he spent upto 400k monthly on expenses.

So, I want to ask and need advise from anyone living in Canada. Would you advise someone earning 800k monthly in Nigeria to leave for Canada?

Your input is highly appreciated.
If you truly earn that..dont come to Canada it's not worth it.Stay in 9ja

I know some men who left their family here in Nigeria and traveled they only visit once in two years, they take their children over there once they complete secondary school. The worst mistake a man will make is coming back to marry here and take her abroad when there are women over there to marry, especially those in America marrying nurses from Nigeria. When you take them over and they get a job they forget you and face their family.if you are unlucky to lose your job your name changes to Mr Wood and she will poison the children's mind and they will abandon you. Bros your friends advised you against bringing your wife and you neglected them and brought her well I advice you face the music. For those of you over there you are yet to marry shine your eye. My sister in New York do gist me what Nigeian men especially ogbo men are going through over there because of their wife. I am not saying there are no good women over there but they are 1%.
So true...

They probably married igbo girls..terrible decision..and brought abroad wife especially if she is igbo.. your marriage is 80%..likely to pack up as she screws you over...

I’ve read all through the thread and this only strengthened my resolve not to get married anytime soon or best put marrying anyone who doesn’t welcome the idea of living in Nigeria while I visit annually aside. I’m a British citizen in my early 30’s seriously considering getting married but in a dilemma of trying to find a balance of either bringing my to-be wife to the U.K. or leave her in Naija with both having it own challenges. However, leaving a woman in Naija seem a lesser evil.

Not particularly surprised by this story coz I’ve had friends who made the mistake of bringing their spouse here all regretting, about 8 in 10 marriages of Nigerians who brought their spouse to the U.K. packed up within 1-3years. A friend is now a stranger in his home and gradually sliding into depression just after a year the wife moved here.

Surprisingly, any girl I get to talk to and give the impression that they’ll live in Naija expresses their discontentment with such arrangement, so they’re looking for who to use and move abroad and destroy their life. Maybe I should just marry a Caucasian and forget about my desire of getting married to an Igbo babe so as to avoid unfortunate stories like this. It’s well
It's the same trend in Canada and USA..you see 9ja girls when they are brought abroad as wife they become something else making you regret heavily your decision. I hope guys are reading and receiving sense..

SamNaijaboy:
Sorry for you bro. I have a friend who brought his wife abroad with the children. Sharperly she started flirting with a man while the guy was away from work and the guy came back to find his wife had received a surface pro gift from the new guy. She was even arguing with him that she was within her rights to keep the guy as a friend and collect any gifts.
This was a woman who didnt do any work, and was a full-time housewife, being kept by the man.
The husband was asking me if I think she could be cheating. I told him to look for more proof, not wanting to put him in depression. A wife who can be arguing with you for days about a guyfriend giving her expensive gifts has already "collected" more in secret.
That guy did nothing wrong, but has entered issues.

Guy, you need to get in touch with me and I'll help you out.
I made the same mistake as you did. I married an Igbo girl who became as bad as yours when she got here. I divorced her and got custody of my son. She now pays me child support and I stay FAR from her. I am one of the 1% or so of men that won their cases and I know what I did. Very expensive though, but I am at peace now.
I don't even date Nigerian women here in the USA after that anymore as they are mostly bedevilled with the same issues-trying to pay their husbands back for some hurt their father and uncle did to their mom or aunt. When you are dating or married to them, they somehow believe that they can do better than you or something.
And there is no use wasting money on women trust me. They are never satistied and you are as good as the latest thing you did for them. All things good you did in the past means nothing. It's the evil they think you did they keep in their mind hoping to pay you back.
Who needs such in their lives?
Common trend among igbo girls..i warn guys about bring igbo girls as wife..

Badgers14:
I hope you had a conversation with a divorce attorney prior to filling one.

Not sure which country you reside or which state (if U.S). Sometimes the situation might even be worse when you fill for divorce, like if you have to share your property 50 50 and pay spouse support... she will take half of your property and will never get married again or even want to work because the spousal support will stop.

This is one of the reasons why divorce is sometimes bloody... check OJ Simpson.

People are upset the woman is trying to reap where she did not sow... clean out the guy and guy man don't want to smoke back from ground zero...

Not admiring the bloody divorce tho..
I know a guy that went through this one time.. he kept calm played along, have his men dem in 9ja hype up the lady, around one of the holiday season sent a car to Nigeria told the let's visit home, she gave her a list of what to buy for her and for her whole village..dude purchased all...

On arriving to Lagos after clearing the airport... he took away everything from her including her passport, and filed for divorce in Lagos... this was a very carefully laid out plan...it was an ambush. She was served paperworks the same day she landed in Nigeria. That's all he needed, to serve her the paperwork, she thought it was a joke... she was a no show during proceeding and divorce was granted. It costs a bit a of money but wayyy less than he would have spent in the U.S.

Again, not recommending anything just a story on how people go crazy during this divorce process and also to ask questions prior to filing, like questions on how to come out on top...

People that live in communal property states, some intentional rack up debts , re mortgage the house, like taking off all the meats in the bone then file... knowing that they would lose the bone but again they have securer to "meat" to help them back up from ground zero. It's all about planning.

Cheer up my guy, I have heard so many of these stories from guys in the U.S and Europe and it's not even funny.
What most of this toxic abroad wife deserve..

LinLinGentle:
Disclaimer: I AM NOT A SAINT AND MY WIFE IS NOT THE DEVIL. I HAVE JUST BEEN UNFORTUNATE TO BECOME A VICTIM OF MATRIARCHY WHICH MANY MEN SUFFER ABROAD...

I have been hustling abroad for a few years while wifey was working in Nigeria and living with children. Marriage has always been turbulent and we even almost got divorced after I travelled out. We somehow worked on our issues with the help of pastors, family and friends, and after a few years of ''roughing'' it abroad to pave way for them, I finally succeeded and my family arrived a few months ago.

I used to be hot tempered, but I have had enough time to gain insight into my inadequacies and reflect on them. I am now significantly calmer due to the determination to make my marriage better and as per ''abroad levels''. My wife on the other hand is fully taking advantage of me and the environment we find ourselves in. First thing she did on getting here was to cut of my entire family. She said she doesn't want to have anything to do with any of them anymore. She has also not been too keen to kickstart her career, as all she does is endless picture taking and editing for social media hyping. I know this might be due to the initial ''euphoria'' phase cos she is coming abroad to a big house, big car and having no limits on most things we used to manage back in Nigeria, and she thinks things are bread and butter. You would never think for a second that she is a married woman if you check her profiles on social media!

She has become even more toxic person than she ever was in Naija. Now very bossy, never backs down, always the attacker, ever ready for a fight, lazier, always on social media, communicates with me as little as possible, embarrasses me in the neighbourhood with the constant noises from our house, and finally her threats have now tripled! Madam is now so fierce that I have become the house chicken. Just within a few months of being here o! She tells me that she will show me for all the ''gra gra'' I used to do back in Nigeria. Friends advised me against bringing this woman here but I no wan hear word as per responsible family man wey I dey claim to be.

The popular threat is usually ''I will end your career''. I wasn't taking this too seriously initially, but she then started following through with the threats by constant calls to the police and other services, making spooky and baseless career ending accusations and allegations against me.

I have never been the one to first lay my hands on her, but I have spilled drinks on her before when she attacked me. My wife now gets very physical without having any element of self control, fear or restraint after the simplest argument and sometimes, she damages things out of anger. She does this so often and never hesitates to dare me to do my worst.

I discovered that she has signed up on dating sites and when I even caught her chatting about sex to a particular guy in our area, she said that it was all my fault. She did not apologise for this. She even referred to it one time after an argument that if I am convulsing like this over just a sex chat, she's waiting to see what I'd do when I see a man on top of her.

My productivity at work has declined significantly and I am now on the verge of depression. Neighbours called the police on us one time after a lot of noise from out house. She accused me of domestic violence. The police had to separate us and I was stuck at home for an extended period and could not go to work due to this. I am now being investigated for domestic violence, which is a serious crime as madam wants it and I have had to report the situation to my company! The whole thing is so messy that I am scared that I have not seen the worst yet.

I am so afraid of losing it all and returning to Nigeria broke cos I spent my last card and even racked credit card debt to bring them here hoping to pay off gradually. I still have a few years to get my citizenship and if I lose my job now, that is the end for all of us!

For now, I don't know what is going to happen to us, as this woman is so determined to cause great and irreparable damage that could ruin our lives, just to get back at me and she is being cheered on by her family and friends.

THE SITUATION IS SO MESSED UP!

UPDATE:

Divorce has now been filed. I also recently got lucky as I was able to secure a restraining order when she messed up again and hit me daring me to do my worst. I called the police and made a proper case and she was arrested. She has been banned from the house for a month. The police advised me to talk to my lawyer and extend indefinitely if I want to. I hope to get this done ASAP. The law here does not only protect women but also protects innocent men. All you need is patience and wisdom. Thank you all for your ideas. Still several hurdles to cross but I am on the winning side for now.
Get all the evidence of her abuse and infidelity..and present them in court..She will end up as the loser. Most of these bitches think the law blindly support them..they don't know anything.

Thats why they say before you bring your 9ja based wife abroad..check well oh..prove her again and again and again..because the trend is that they come over..see how the system favours women.. she takes advantage of the system even more than the white women..call police for you..disrespect and cheat on you..before divorcing you leaving you with neither root nor branch...That's the pattern of many 9ja girls..especially Igbo girls..

Guys before you bring woman from Nigeria make sure she signs pre-nip agreement.its very important..most of these bitches are heavy pretenders until you bring them over, then you will see their true colours.I know what my younger bro saw in his wife hand..it was not fun..

Nigeria will ONLY become a great nation if her citizens elect their leaders without ethnic and religious sentiments.
The previous administration of GEJ was not perfect & had its shortcomings but Nigeria was seeing a certain level of progress & unity. Then, an old retired general who is a known jihadist, a coupist, an illiterate, a former failed leader arose from his retirement home, came & said he can CHANGE Nigeria.
Sadly, the consequences of the decision Nigerians made in 2015 due to ethnicity and tribalism is what they are now living by. huh
It is sad and unfortunate.Buhari is not even qualified to be a gate man..much less a councillor. How the disaster Buhari became president of Nigeria, which is filled with intelligent people is still a mystery to be studied.

Ope88:
Please don't read and pass, also Pardon all my typo, I'm typing out of duress.

I am from a family of six, 3 girls, 1 boy including my parents.
I had a horrible childhood experience, My Mum (no thanks to her) was something I can't quantify, I can't start writing every of the things she did and I can't say If the religion she practiced contributed largely to the devilish attitude she put up while growing up.

My mum has no good record anywhere, in the church, with the neighbours, with her siblings, we the children, her in laws and even at work, She was always at war with people, if she dreams that someone was trying to attack her in the dream, if she sees the person the following day, she was ready to attack the person.

Also, she would curse her children at any slightest provocation and leave only my brother out(last born and spoilt), She doesn't have any good relationship with her siblings and won't allow my dad visit his family member, I remembered them (Mum and dad) always saying this (don't be unequally yoked together with unbelievers). To them anyone who isn't a Christian (deeper life) is not supposed to be associated with.. My dad on countless occasion will call his mum a witch just because she was a Muslim and one of the oloyes of allasalatu(Muslims will understand this) and had nothing to do with his family members.

This went on and on like this until my elder sister moved out of the house and in the process of trying to find her feet, she got pregnant and my mom practically tormented her life, she later got married to the man, and for that act alone, she's always at logger heads with my sister and her husband..

Later, I got married and then my younger sister followed suit, leaving my dad, herself and my younger brother (whom I have disowned).

Ever since the three of us got happily married, and left the home, my dad slipped into severe depression. Although he has been depressed given lots of things he encountered, job loss, no social interaction, unforgiveness amongst others, it became severe when all his female children left, then from severe depressgion, he started having mental issues, he would wake up and leave the house talking to himself, or start preaching and going out of point with anyone he finds on the street, sometimes he would leave and come home at night, my younger brother who is supposed to comfort and help him, treats him with disdain, my mum who is supposed to check mate his excesses would leave him to his folly and now he has started standing up to her and everyone else in the house..

At 26, he doesn't know his bearing and obviously we have been seeing signs of him wanting to inherit the houses my father built in the same compound.. (and we have noticed that my mum has been making him understand that every of the property belongs to him).

The last straw which broke the camel's back happened one week ago, my elder sister ( who is 9 year older than him) took advantage of the lockdown and visited my father, he is usually exited when we are around him whc helps his severe moodiness. There and then an argument broke out between my sister and my brother, she asked why my brother was insulting our mum for an action that happened in the compound, he beat my sister up and her three children and boasted that, the rest of us (my sister and I) dare not do anything and that by the way we must stop coming to the house, that if he sees any of us He will beat us up, My mum who was supposed to resolve the matter started blaming my sister, asking her why she always love to come visiting, that she's supposed to be in her husband's house or father in laws place and immediately called her hubby to come pick her.

Its been one week my sister left for her house, my daddy who enjoyed her company when she was present started misbehaving again at home. He started roaming, he started cursing everyone.

The reason I'm writing is this, my dad is no where to be found, he left the house yesterday Friday 15th May 2020 and was last seen in ITAMAGA IKORODU, we keep trying his number but he is not picking and now his number is switched off, I'm sure he is still wandering about.

My sisters and I have decided that even when he is found(by God's grace) we do not what him to go back living with my mum and brother.

What other alternatives do we have to care for him, as his own siblings are not happy with him either for abandoning them and their mum (his own mum),, when they needed him the most..

I AM SO SORRY FOR THE LONG POST.. PLEASE HELP ME.

Modified..... My dad has been found today Sunday, 17th May 2020, my sweet mother (elder sister) found her, she has been on her feet since he went missing, luckily he was found but in a terrible state, I saw him via video calls and I wept, he can't recognize even my sister again, and just muttering some words we don't understand, he closes his eyes while saying this and asked everyone to go and leave him, he looks so faint and weak and would not leave where he his...My sister has called his siblings and she's waiting for the next line of ACTION from them.

I'll keep updating the house with reports from our end..
I think your family is under a very strong satanic spell..how can children be fighting each other and and not care about dad that is alive.
Like whether he die or not.You and your elder sister MUST as a matter of urgency take up responsibility to care for your dad including his immediate relocation from that toxic family house..to somewhere else.Discuss with your husband and solicit his support..

I'm sure it's not about the degree bt prospects and vision. The guy didnt do a good job presenting himself. He only needs to articulate himself better even if he hasn't yet gotten there. Nobody is saying he must have a better degree or be more than the gal bt he must have smtn going for him.
Why try to excuse the obvious by justifying his rejection on the basis of poor presentation of himself..when it is clear that he been a polytechnic graduate was the basis of the rejection. If he had B.SC will he be rejected? And you saying presentation..havent you met people before that have strong prejudice regarding certain things..it doesn't matter what you say or how you appear it doesn't change their perspective.

..and your trying to equate the rejection of the guy to that of an orange seller is ridiculous and very lame because the guy in question is educated at least to higher education level unlike an orange seller who will most likely be a high school dropout..probably due to inability of her parents to sponsor her education...

Hello Everyone,

I submitted my PR application on 8th Dec 2019 (AOR). I have 8 years experience in University teaching and research. I also hold a PhD in Medical Sciences. I will like to know what are my career prospects, pathways and options if I migrate to Canada.

How possible is it to secure university job in the same field as I currently am?

I also learnt that I may need to start all over (I feel am ready to if I have to), does that mean I need to change my current career completely?

Will you advise enrolling in courses/programs to build a career in health sciences (e.g. Physiotherapy or nursing)?

If you were in my shoes and with your current understanding of Canadian system which path will you take?

(I'm 33, married with 3 kids)

I really need your help and advice. Help curtail my recently rekindled sleepless nights. Help a brother please.

Thanks in advance.
Offcourse you can secure a University Job in medical sciences..but first things first did you get your PhD from USA..or which part of Europe or Africa..if Africa..You don't stand a chance..you have to start again..if from Europe you stand a slight chance as you have to compete with Canadian trained PhDs

I think this is B.S.Thats how many parents sabotage the marital destiny of their children in the name of preserving nonsense social academic class..

When Bishop David Oyedepo married his wife who was a University graduate from Ife he had polytechnic degree from kwara poly....but today he is a Dr..not honorary oh but earned in Humanities..what if her parents rejected him because he is a poly graduate..wont she have missed her destiny..who knows maybe we won't know her today..

I decided to put up this post to enlighten Nigerians so that they won't be deceived about the palliatives given to Canadian residence. You must meet up with certain criteria before you will be eligible. It's not being handed to everyone.
It's true there is a $2,000 monthly palliative for Canadian residence but below are the criteria to meet;
1. Residing in Canada and must be at least 15 years old.
a. You must not be a citizen or PR to qualify for the package.
2. Those who have stopped working because of reasons related to Covid 19 or are eligible for employment insurance regular or sickness benefits or have exhausted their employment insurance regular benefits or employment insurance fishing benefits between December 29 2019 and October 2020.
a. Must be laid off because of the crisis.
b. Employment insurance (EI): This is another employment benefit you qualify for when you loose your job not because you quit. You must have worked a total of 600 hours before you can qualify for EI. If you have lesser hours, you won't be qualify. Note that you pay for EI just like tax on ur paycheck.
3. Who had employment or self-employment income income of at least $5,000 in 2019 or in the 12 months prior to the date of their application.
a. Meaning those that came to Canada late last year till before boarders were shut won't qualify and till now they will stay without any income. All they would wish for is for the crisis to just end so they can start their life.
4. Who have not quit their voluntarily.
a. You won't be qualified if you were fired or resigned yourself because there's a report your office will submit directly to them.

You can add yours or correct what you feel is not too correct.
Thank you.

Lalasticlala please take this to front page so as to enlighten Nigerians for them not to be deceived again.
You must'nt be RR or Canadian citizen...folks on work permit or international students who qualify can also benefit..Be guided

Nelso2:
Saw a contact on her phone late last year, saved as aa1 and each time he wassup her it's either he calls her my friend or my love.

Confronted her but she denied, saying it's her customer that is owing her money. Been searching for the contact but couldn't find it again after then.

Recently, I searched on her phone while she was sleeping, went through her wassup again, saw a number saved as 3, had to checked on it, behold the profile picture is the same man. Funny part of it, each time she chat wit him, she deletes the chat at the end of it. Been mad since and about to confront.

The man in question is almost 54 and I am in late 30s.
She is cheating on you and you need to realize that and change the music for her.you see these bitches once tgey realize they can do anything without consequence you are finished as a man..you need to demonstrate to her that that nonsense rubbish of flirting or cheating with a strange man is not acceptable or she can kiss the marriage goodbye..

you said canada is for people desperate to leave third world countries. Ok i see you meant doctors not everyone. Well doctors still make it in canada after passing licensing exams. May take 2 years. Not every one can get into uk as a doctor as its now competitive too
This is a false info..if you come into Canada from 9ja or any african country as a medical doctor you have to start again..

Hello house,
I understand an applicant can claim points if s/he has siblings with Canadian PR. Please can an applicant claim such points from first cousins. How can such claims be validated? i.e what documents are required as proofs? Thanks
No you cannot. The person has to be your brother or sister. They will ask for birth certificate showing your parents name..the person PR card, Canada Address

Guys can you date a woman with 3 kids and still in her husband's house but the marriage is about to be dissolved because her husband is not touching her for over a year and doesn't give her food or talk to her.

She met you on Facebook and loves you so much and wants you to sleep with her when both of you see. She even sends her naked video to you to show you how much she loves you. Will you sleep with her when you meet as she is about to divorce her husband?
Don't touch her untill she divorce her husband..If you and her vibe well..wait till she is officially divorced..e get why.
