So I've been running some businesses for some time and it turns out during this Buhari regime business went south lol.. As in, we all know the situation in the country.

What even dashed my hopes finally was the kinda election we had in this country where I had hoped for a true change as I've always been vocal against japa and why it's okay here and no place like home. But since the last 1 month I've been buying into the japa syndrome.

But I'm I to blame? E no easy with wife and 2 young kids of 2yrs plus and 4months old.

Please I need help with ideas on IT courses one can learn with the internet as I got access to not top notch but substantial amount of internet access.
Or even a good handworking skill that are lucrative abroad.

A skill one could possibly japa with, because I wanna start considering my options. I do not see the next 8yrs having anything significantly left for me in this naija.

1. Web Design/Development
2. Motion Graphics/Animation
3. UI/UX/Mobile App Design/Development (the Gen Z threw it off and rebranded it as Product Design but na same jare)

Lemme stop here.

The 1st step is to get yourself a laptop ... that's pretty fast ... core i3 or i5 or i7, 4gb or 8gb ram, 250gb hdd or 256gb ssd (ssd is faster) 14 inches screen upwards. They are usually cheap if u can get a UK used.

If u have that, i can help with some materials .... that is if you're ready to sit your flat yansh down and study, then practice ... but if not, enjoy your Bala Blue Naija ooo

But the main thing about this fields i mention is largely dependent on your passion: If you simply just want to make money off this, you might be disappointed along the way cos of some difficulties (which is of course, part of the journey) but if u have passion, you will be able to scale through without being discouraged which of course would pay off cash wise.

Good morning all


Firstly, i am a student in one reputable state university in this country. So, there is this cleaning company I've been working with for more than 3years now which sustained me. as a street sweeper and student i usually woke up as early as 5am to go to work sweep and clean my lot before 7am and return to prepare for school.

But about 3months ago the state Governor decided to end their contact and bring another company to handle the job. We were lucky part of the contract is that they'd still work with us.

So the new company came in we're very happy that they even increased our salary to 15k per month instead of 12k that we were being paid before. Infact, they also employed more cleaners since they got additional lot.


Sadly, it has been 3month now we're working with this new company but they never paid us a dime and we are about to resume school new session and I have not save anything for registration as I usually do saved 8k every month and manage 4k.

What do you think we shall do

Shall we report then to public complains office or
Stage a protest to government house since the state Governor once said in a radio station that he paid the money.

I'll advise u get another job ... cos reporting might not end well ...

You're a student and i'm assuming you're still young ... why not suffer small while looking for a job or acquiring a skill that can fetch u more money than 15k?

Cos even 20k is tiny amount to live on

I got a new fridge yesterday (picture attached). The fridge was tested at the store and it worked well but it's not cooling now despite showing light inside.

I called the man who sold it and he was talking about my wiring. That 1mm wire will not carry the fridge. I don't understand this as I plugged it directly to the wall socket and I expect it to work.

Now, my question is that if I buy a stabilizer and add to it, will it work? Or how do I determine the type of wiring used in my house?

I would have returned it for another but I'm considering the distance as I had to pay for waybill to bring it to my place.

the choices I am looking at are these :

1. Toyota Rav 4, (2011) Nigerian used. A friend is actually convinced this is the car I should buy as it fits nicely in terms of prestige and functionality. However, I'm not fully convinced as per buying a Nigerian used car and also because I'm not really taken to the RAV4 as I see it as not a masculine car.

2. Toyota Camry 2011 or 2012 (muscle) : I like this car and if it falls within my budget I'd happily buy it. The only negative here is I've been wanting an SUV to be my first car considering Lagos roads etc so I'm not totally sold on the idea of getting this car.

3. Toyota Highlander full option (2007) Direct Belgium or Nigerian used: Now this is the car I I'm most taken to. However, Friends are of the opinion that it is an old car (being 2007) and is gradually being phased out. Also the fact the car does not exactly convey much in terms of prestige etc.

So that's it. I'd appreciate if forum members advice correctly on any of these three car models or recommend something else. Kindly highlight the merits/demerits of buying the foreign used or Nigerian used version of any car you'd recommend.

The attributes I'm looking out for are Functionality, ease of Maintenance, prestige/aesthetics of the car.

I'm done with the registration too, someone from here asked me to use chrome on mobile phone and set to desktop mode, and it works..after few attempt, the sec school didn't give me much issue, was worried about the passport not showing up too, but I think that's general issue.

The guys in charge of the site seems to be rookies. Even after moving the passport photo to another section, it still not working.

Infant it got worse. Before, when it brings error 500, there was a way we clicked outside the error but now, the error message covers the screen.

And its closing around Friday

I had this issues at some point in time

It was working fine till that secondary school/add subjects stage freezes everything ... They sorted and now, you can't add images (passport), the site throws up error 500....let's hope that's sorted as well

People do get upgrading /proper placement after getting in. I'll advise u get in 1st then find your way later.

Your BSc won't be useful for this recruitment cos it's for lower cadre level 3 to 7.

But apply with your waec, enter then u could be lucky to be upgraded later on.

I have been dating this guy for over 2 years. When we started dating, he had no job and I always encouraged him to get something doing no matter how small because he was always relying on his parents then.

He got jobs but quit working without telling me, I got to find out later. Due to these issues, he couldn't afford to pay for his apartment, so he had to relocate to his parents house.

He got a job in the same area as his parents house and he only looked for it because I told him I wasn't comfortable with him not working, as someone in his late 20s. As a lady, I try to make sure I work, plan my life and look for opportunities with prospects, but he doesn't do these things. He is comfortable with the way things are going for him.

He's been working for some months now but there is nothing to show for it, he is not even trying to get a high paying job, start a business, learn a skill or leave his comfort zone.
Mind you, I don't ask him for anything since he is not even doing well for himself yet.

This guy is proposing marraige, but I don't want to accept because he doesn't have a vision, neither does he have concrete plans or prospect. I'm afraid getting married to him would mean I'll be carrying all the burden while married, since he is even comfortable with the way things are for him now. I'm tired of having this discussion with him.

Please I need suggestions on what you'd likely do if you find yourself in my situation.
