Good morning all.
Please I need advice here. I am considering of getting a car to drive since my work doesn't come steady, a friend was telling me to buy sienna instead of car.
(1) can 2m get a sound sienna?
(2) which do I make more money? Sienna or getting car for uba?
It's not going to be steady but just that sometimes I stay like a week or too before getting contract.
Thanks
The sienna will serve you best considering the times we are in.

You can be using it for interstate and charter services or better still give it out so you can be receiving weekly income, sienna will comfortably do 40k a week for you if you give it out.

You can contact me concerning that.

Where is the insult?

That he has hustled since 2002 and still a driver on rental is not insult, if he feel is easy he should go and make money and invest in uber.

I will say it again, once church open Rental should increase from current 25k weekly.
Church is still 50 persons per gathering,so might not be a good yardstick.

I really want ua to discuss this issue self.

For goodness sale I'm renting this car and the car ia registered to move anywhere within Nigeria provided I stay kin to the contract agreement which doesn't include not travelling out of state with the car so why would a partner disagrees for a renter not to travel outta state with a car his paying/renting?

I don't get it.

The other time I shared an experience with my first and former partner I still remember some people questioned me why I should use my rental car for family runs when I've my personal car parked at the garage, I'm like are you kidding??!!!

So if you have an official car you won't use it for anything apart from official duties?

Let's discuss this guy.

Both drivers and partner should drop their views
It depends on the terms of the contract, if owner says you should not go out of Lagos and it's clearly stated in your agreement, you have no choice but to abide

But most owners will say you need their consent first.

There was one funny one, driver took vehicle out of Lagos without owners knowledge, owner found out and was dead furious.

Driver pleaded with him to allow him come back that they should settle the matter, job was to run for 2 weeks in Delta state.

When driver returned, owner asked to be paid 100k instead of regular 60k that would have been rental for the 2 weeks, driver agreed and paid 80k to balance 20k.

Owner come still hold driver say nah him go sort maintenance after collecting 100k. Nah him quarrel start o!!

Run!!

In my Jew days!! I took a car on rental for hustle, car started giving issues from the very day I picked it up.Shaft pulled that very day.

Owner accused me of spoiling it, he managed to fix but with lots of grumble.

Was able to manage to be meeting weekly rentals afterwards but car had perenial suspension problems from ball joints to linkages to steering sockets to disc,to tyres even to a/c.

At end of the day owner accused me of damaging all these things and insisted i must fix after collecting his weekly rentals. We ended up at police station.

You have a huge money spinner on your hands.

Are you driving yourself or you intend to give someone

Is it going to be available full time or part time

If part time you can do well by doing ad posts on fora like this just like that car documentation guy or dru23.

If it's full time, you should drive anywhere out of Lagos that you are familiar or feel comfortable with. Commodities markets are your number 1 targets and they are every where, north, east, west and south.

Lagos is syndicated when it comes to hauling and no matter where you go, u will find people already there and they will ask you to join and make payments to register

Also companies also register haulers for moving there goods.

If your ratings drop after a ride, then its low rating from that particular rider. For Bolt its last 40 abi 50 rides, so the good thing is that you can climb back up again by providing excellent service.

But for uber, see attached screen shot. Break down of rating is provided. But seems not all riders vote, because total trips for me is about double that amount. Also rating based on last 500
So you feel if just your next rider gives you 1 star ,ur rating go come reduce after that one trip huh

I am sorry to say sir, you are wrong sir wink

I go with this, cos Bolt official said they rate drivers after 40 trips. So I know if you can do 15/20 trips back to back without any issue, your rating will surely smile.
The simple reason they do it is for security reasons, make you Noh go burst rider head or waste groundnut for him body becos him gii u 1 star.

Also it would be less efficient of your ratings have to keep moving after every trip

You re wrong bro. Kindly watch the rating as they give you stars maybe you will understand what I'm saying. After completing trips and your rate doesn't change, it means the rider didn't rate you. He or she may do so later. But watch it when you end a trip and rwmind the rider to rate you and he or she does so immediately. You will see the difference. Check next time.

But if you insist it is not possible, I rest my case.
You are not quite correct, your ratings variation isn't immediate, it's usually combination of several trips.

The % of ratings you get over 10 trips determine your ratings, abeg if you see your ratings drop immediately you drop one rider, Noh be that rider cos am o, nah your past sins catch you o

I think the issue here is that drivers are not looking at the issue critically...

Drivers come here to lament of how hard it is to get trips despite the #500 fare. So is it when it becomes #2000 that you'll now get the trip?

Since the bird has learnt to fly without landing, the hunter should learn to shoot without missing

Whether we like it or not, competitors will come in and reduction in fares will prevail. Whether we also like it or not, people will still be putting cars into this business

Drivers should simply look into other options of breaking even...maybe changing the tools for the job(I've always believed the corolla is now a wrong tool for the job), or exploring other options

Because the bitter truth is if Uber increases the fare to #1200 minimum, getting a trip would be difficult

You were not getting numerous trips when it was #500, then will riders rush you when its #1200?

For those who can't take it like me, jejely quit grin

He rented out a 2013 corrola and moove is planning on using newer cars, abi no be the same fare them go still charge? And what is your point are you saying the fares are ok? You also don't need to curse when replying any post. I don't know why some people are just enjoy being rude or sacarstic. Not nice

by
What's the percentage of those cars you mentioned to that of 17 years old coros in the market?

If you make a request now,it's a 9 out of 10 chance it's gonna be coro or big daddy.

When I started this hustle the 1st car I drove was a brand new 2015 Volkswagen polo from a company called CAR4U, but they shipped out when this same thing you are complaining about started happening, this was 4 years ago.

I have never said prices are ok, infact can never be I only don't appreciate people complaining everyday without doing anything.

My thoughts exactly, if you want premium or quality services pay for it. Executive cabs go come your house pick you up, dem go use you do shopping, talk to you anyhow, you go still carry am drop for house on top a/c and comfort.End trip na small money go come out.Even cabu cabu na waka we dey go find them still beg for price on top Jalopy cab. I thought the idea of this ehailing services was to create premium and luxury services to their customers wey fit afford am.
Executive cab my ass, with 17 years old Corolla like @izzou said.

Don't feel like a God. People do this a lot. Even on Fiverr, people make such requests and it gets granted.

People make much more daring requests like having their company name registered in the United States.

If I had known this is the way you would react, I wouldn't bother. I didn't go straight to sending you a private message so it doesn't seem like I have an ulterior motive.

Just to receive a phone from e-commerce website and ship to Nigeria is rude?

Please swerve.

For the respondent asking why I didn't consider using DHL, some of these businesses don't ship to Nigeria. Ask anybody that buy from eBay and Amazon, they have people that receive their items and ship them to Nigeria. Even the ShopToMyDoor that someone recommended, they have their agents in the States.

The mistake I made was getting in touch with the wrong person and quoting her on the wrong thread (my intention was never to post on Uber thread, it happened that this thread is where she comments most so I just quoted her last comment when I searched).

Guys let me remind you again that the original plan for ehailing was "Transportation in Luxury and Comfort".

The Luxury means that it is Premium and should not be compromised by cheap fares.

Thats why people will abandon their cars to have you drive for them and pay you handsomely as an executive driver.

If you allow them to do this thing to you people, be willing to have Agbero and Danfo people as your riders. Even touts will be your main patronisers.

Your Job should be executive and luxury. Quit that job now.

There was a post by a driver here one time where he made mention of a trip he took from Ilupeju to Agbado crossing which is near Ogun state.

Brothers if I may ask you, do you think that Union chairman was stupid when he asked the driver "his plans for life"?

Like how can you drive that far distance for 1,400?

If you are an investor reading this, pull your car from this business and sell it before they wreck it.

If I were still driving, I will start asking riders how many they are. This is why I dont take early morning trips on Sundays when I worked. Nigerians are very dubious and crafty. Like how can I be taking a trip of 600 back then and carry 4 people? Even a Kabu Kabu can't accept that.

There is a reason some Kabu kabu drivers were able to build houses in their prime before Uber and Bolt came and spoilt business for them. Back then in Maryland, the cheapest I can get a cab man to take me to Surulere back then is 2500-3000 with abeg. On Uber Bolt these days, riders get it for as low as 1000.

Think about this.

Most of you are shouting more trips for more money but you don't know that the more trips you take, the more wear and tear your car suffers. Its that bad brothers.
There is no way a trip from ilupeju to agbado will be 1,400 except there was error with the app or drivers phone.

We need to cut dis guys some slack as well. But I agree that fares are poor but what can you do other than to find another hustle or pull out your car entirely.

Complaining won't solve nothing undecided
