Malicious judgement, majority of stolen car buyers in Nigeria have never been given life imprisonment,why the Policeman?the real kidnappers just five years? to encourage kidnapping. The hatred for Police but he is a Nigerian. Human rights activist will turn their face away now. We all know majority of Judges are corrupt and they don't discharge their duties well even a kindergarten will see the flaws in the judgement. Somebody should come to his aid,it can't be that sentence. The Judge was settling a score rather, the Judge must be made to face the law for using his office wrongly, there must be more to it. Something he bought with his money or was it because he was a Police Officer? Very unfortunate for this country, many are suffering same fate in this kind of judgement from this kind of Judges

The sad truth is that the policemen were extortionist and since it appeared on the Lagos State Database (verify.autoreg.ng), they should have backed out.

Unfortunately it is not the duty of the police to identify fake particulars because they don't have that capability, they are expected to provide security in detecting stolen vehicles, criminals in transit etc.

Checking particulars validity ceased to be a duty of The Nigeria Police when VIO was craved out of her in 1967. But this is Nigeria!

Focus on the extortion or brutality you are alleging but definitely not Police duties.It is the duty of the Police to check while finding the author of a crime any irregularities concerning a motorist with criminal intent who may have pasted a fake plate number on a vehicle for disguise, that may have been used to execute a crime or that the vehicle itself was stolen. The person can be investigated if they are not convinced or satisfied and that is why they Police the people and it's property. Every duty of the Police in time past which are now performed by other uniformed organizations, to assist the Police does not automatically removed the functions from the Police, in petroleum they still protect our pipelines from vandals just like the NSCDC, they still protect our border areas just like the Immigrations and Customs,they maintain traffic on the road and attend to accident victims just like the FRSC,they apprehend drug dealers just like the NDLEA , they are there when there is fire outbreak just like the Fire Service, they still Police the Prisons just like the Correctional Service,they also perform international operations just like the Military and also assist the Military in case of external aggression as may be prescribed etc, infact they still perform a lot of duties which are not statutorily removed from them as it is not practicable or viable to be removed, looking at the critical nature of those sectors and input of the Police on those sectors. So the job of the Police is so essential to the existence of any nation including Nigeria even if Nigeria and Nigerians don't seem to recognize that considering their poor salary and pensions compared to the Military and others. Police is in charge of internal security in Nigeria and every other organizations assists and supports the Police for a common goal.

The Police should always protect & defend themselves when attacked, because if they die the work still continue, but should not bother about the burning of stations or vehicles, it is a collective properties, we will all suffers the consequences, the southerners always claim to know, that they are more educated than the northerners, we can all see the result of their so called education, they are the real educated illiterate, the northern part has shown they are wiser of course, all these nonsense in south is not so with the north, that is why the north will continue to be the head politically because of the maturity they naturally exhibit. Charge & bail lawyer, the Tailor will have to prove if one causes damage he cannot be arrested, he will prove if he was slapped, the DPO is in-charge of that Station and he can direct the Tailor's statement be taken & detained, if there was no remorse, he can direct to be charged to court, but the charge & bail lawyer not knowing what to say, said the DPO is now is a judge in his own case, at what point did he become a judge, is it at Police station level or when the case was charged to court, if your cloth worth that amount is damaged will you be happy or is it because he is a Police Officer & you don't see anything wrong in what the Tailor did, the Police Officer has as much right as the Tailor, if you have a problem with that go to the court & contest it.

Shame on the Nigeria Police, they cannot defend their men even when they are being killed, it was after the Police have been killed in their numbers & nobody talked on their behalf the IGP now woke up from slumber, saying the Police should defend theirselves when attacked, to save his face before his men who seemingly has no confidence in him any longer, even at that, they won't be able to defend their men, they will even prefer to fish out their men to be detained for people who don't appreciate their efforts & the people will even later use it as a point against them. They cannot motivate, protect or defend their own, no matter what, the military cannot succumb to any blackmail, they have performed their duty to the standard required of them & you don't drag them like the Police. This is food for thought for the Police

Nigeria Police is appreciated easily internationally because they are good in Policing because they were given the enabling environment, motivations & well paid but here with the meagre salary & lack of motivation, no logistics,no good accomodations, no uniforms customized buying any they can afford, no life insurance cover, no equipment to work with, everything bought individually, infact patrol vehicles fuelled & maintained by personnels and Nigerians want magic from an ordinary Policeman, is that not enough to make them extort? When they are out of the country for assignments with little incentive everybody is appreciating them. We understand that they will improve their salary, let it not be that they will add peanut & say they have increased their salary, we expect at least 300% increase and all that they need to perform better, anything other than these, then it is a big joke & deception, it means the problem of Police is not solved

The lawyer that said the killings of the Police is "because of aggravated, accumulated grievances of the people to the actions of the police" is that an excuse to kill? Is that how you practice your law? You said some Policemen are good, who seek your opinion? Are you & 95% of Nigerians also good? Are you truely in a position to assess others?
