Super-Star Musician, David Adeleke popularly called Davido has instituted a talent hunt show for artistes based in Rivers State.

The musician also stated that he will work for the re-election of Governor Wike whom he described as his godfather.

Speaking on Sunday at the Government House Port Harcourt after he visited the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, Davido noted that the show was in line with his discussions with the State Government to support upcoming artistes.

He said noted that he was in Port Harcourt for a musical show tagged " Plugged" where he will perform with indigenous artistes.

He said: "I also came here to see my godfather, Governor Wike and to support his second term bid.

"I am planning a talent hunt show in Port Harcourt. One of the lucky artistes will perform at my show in Lagos on 27th December, 2018.

"I am also here to wish the Governor a happy birthday. In the New Year, there are several things that we are planning for the good of the music industry ".

Davido was accompanied by the organiser of Plugged, Mr Chima Aguma and Music Promoter, Soso Soberekon.

Governor Wike, a youth friendly administrator, had earlier pledged to promote the entertainment industry for the creation of jobs for the youths.

1. Why didn't she list you as a dependent?
2. Has she started working for the company sponsoring her for the training? Or he employment is dependent on the successful completion of the training?
3. I see the company is registered in the UK, do they have the licence to sponsor employee visa to the UK?

Your cousin's account balance and the no dependent state is a source of concern. I would advise she defers the training for like 8 months and try to build up her savings.

By my understanding, the employment letter would only come handy after she's completed the training and resumed work with the company in Nigeria which helps to form the close tie to home economically.

The issue now is that all what you've stated in the first application remains on the database, in reapplying she would need to explain clearly why her situation has suddenly changed (account balance now buoyant and the inclusion of you as a dependent)

And I need your advice please - I recently helped my 18 year old cousin apply for a Short Term UK Student Visa in Abuja through an agent - for a training course that’s starting on the 7th of January; and she was refused for two reasons (I have attached the letter below)

Here’s the back story:
She started a similar training in Nigeria back in April 2018, soon after the training she got an unpaid internship job and fortunately for her, the internship was sponsored by an International Company that offers Scholarship Grants As part of the CSR initiative - and she was one of those who got the training grant.

She was also offered a full time job with a starting salary of N65k to commence immediately after her mandatory training in London. The two companies (her employer and the sponsor) where kind enough to give us all the document we needed plus extras...

they only concern I had was her account balance which was quite low because of her own mistake; but we were told it didn’t really matter since the company provided their own account details and she’s young...

Secondly she had no prove of family ties, because 1. she’s an orphan and her siblings are scattered all over the country, 2. She’s young and not married, left secondary school about a year ago, has no properties or investments... but the agent ignored that. Sadly we didn’t include a covering letter explaining her situation. I only found this thread after the application was submitted - and I just hoped for the best. But we didn’t get the best.

Please I want to know when is the best time reapply, and what should we do differently to better her chances this time? How do show a strong family, social or economic ties from now and on time before her course starts?

Please please we need your help urgently - our agent went silent on us the minute she got the refusal news.

The brother in the UK is inviting his immediate younger brother and his family. They are from same parents and bear same surname. They did separate invites to give credence to the application,both of them also gave their payslips, data pages, Residence Permits and all.

Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), has called on Nigerian celebrities to utilise their platforms to promote voter education, youth inclusion and non-violent participation in the 2019 general elections.

Yakubu made the call at an INEC Interactive Session/Dinner held in Lagos on Saturday night while appointing new ambassadors for the commission.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the interaction was put together by INEC in collaboration with the European Centre for Electoral Support (ECES).

The chairman, who was represented by Dr Adekunle Ogunmola, the National Commissioner of INEC in charge of Ogun, Ondo and Lagos States, reiterated the commission’s commitment to ensuring that youths are central in the electoral process.

“INEC, in line with its electoral policies, prioritises the participation of disadvantaged groups, including the youth in electoral process.

“The commission has overtime developed electoral cycle-based interventions and creative innovations on electoral issues affecting the youths.

“In 2014, the commission in collaboration with youth organisations conceptualised the idea of identifying from the entertainment industry, the media and outstanding youths influencers, while commissioning them as voter education youth ambassadors.

“We want you to utilise your platforms for disseminating voter education and non-violent messages to citizens

“He recalled that some young celebrities were unveiled in 2015 as INEC Youth Ambassadors at an INEC Youth Summit held in Abuja with specific responsibility to engage citizens on peaceful participation,” he said.

The chairman noted that the ambassadors were selected based on profile and fellowship, reputation, credibility nonpartisan ship and commitment to volunteerism.

According to the INEC boss, the ambassadors were prominent individuals who had distinguished themselves in the field of entertainment, arts, sports, democratic development and literature.

He said that the commission wanted increased participation of youth, women and persons with disability in order to boost citizens’ trust and confidence in electoral process.

The commission had before the 2015 general elections inaugurated a team of successful Nigerian Youths as its first crop of youth ambassadors for the purpose of working with INEC in reducing and curtailing electoral violence.

The ambassadors included singers, comedians, actors, actresses, journalists were: Innocent Idibia (2Baba), Ime Okon (Bishop), Michael Ifeanyichukwu, Ijeoma Okoye, Ibrahim Adra, Alex Ibe, Ali Muhammed and Gideon Okeke.

Others were: Helen Paul, Adam Zango, Seun Okinbaloye, Frank Edwards and Akintayo Faniran.

I would prefer he (tenant) starts making preparations to leave if the landlord rejects his plea rather than fight back

Meet with him privately and show him ur evidence of punctual payments be cos that what every landlord pray to get in a tenant. And tell him u are not ready to leave his apartment. If he insist then tell him no problem and do what MAGALAN advices.

You won then because the landlord probably did not get a good lawyer the law listens to people in dire need though but if you make it look obvious you lose.

For example if a tenant who has been very good and up to date with rent suddenly loses his or her job or source of income, the court will understand and try to protect them but where that is not the case and you swore to that effect and was found out, you will be jailed for perjury naaaa in addition to being evicted

At bolded.... The more reason the judge would uphold the notice to evict you. You have no money but want to stay in the house... Who will be paying your bills and who will pay the bills on the house the landlord is meant to pay?

You can leave in that house 2years without paying a dime.

Firstly he can't just evict you just like that,and secondly he has to serve you another (second) eviction letter, before your lawyers take it up from there.when you get to court room,your lawyer should be asking for 1year grace before you park out, that you have no money.

Definitely the judge will grant you as much as 6-8months grace before parking out,close to the expiration of that period,drag the landlord to court again and your lawyer will still plead to the judge that the country is hard,that you should be given sometime...The same judge will still grant you a grace of 3-6month.
Repeat it again during the expiration of that three month and the court will give you the last grace of 1month.


Mind you;during this period of grace, you should be able to secure another accommodation.
And if the landlord doesn't follow due process and trys to evict you forcefully,the court will penalize the landlord by allowing you stay in that house for 2years without paying.


Why am telling you this is just a measure to discipline your landlord...Follow this step and he will come begging for settlement...
