By increasing data bundle cost eh? #Useless pipo mrakeli62: The Executive Vice Chairman, Nigerian Communications Commission(NCC) Professor Umar Garba Dantatta has said the commission will continue to serve as a feedback mechanism for telecom consumers so as to avoid being exploited by service providers
He also said the gesture would assist the service providers to provide quality services, value for money and to check unwholesome practices.
Dantatta stated this at the weekend during 99th edition of consumer outreach programme held in Ilorin, Kwara state capital with the theme: “Using Information and Education as Tools for Consumer Empowerment and Protection.”
According to him, “the forum was organised to educate telecom consumers and other stakeholders in contemporary issues generating interest in the industry and also to serves as feedback mechanism.”
He said “At the NCC, the Telecom consumers are the target beneficiaries of all our activities which make them enjoy primary focus in terms of ensuring that they get good quality service, value for money spent, timely and fair redress of complaints and protection from unwholesome practices of some service providers.”
Dantatta who was represented by the Director, Consumers Affairs Bureau, Mrs. Felicia Onwuegbu Chulam said the commission had decided to design the outreach so as to empower consumer through the provision of necessary information and education to consumers.
Dantatta noted that: “Through empowerment and education, telecom consumers are fortified with necessary tools to be protected from market exploitation and to make rational and informed decision when making choices of services.
“Consumer information and education is identified by the NCC as one of the most effective mechanisms that provides and guarantees consumers empowerment and education.
“It also serves as a proactive way of providing consumers from making wrong choices and also protected the consumers from being exploited and against fraud.”
He, therefore, urged consumers to be up and doing and always free to come out with their feelings about the service providers saying that, “it is their inalienable rights to inform the service providers and NCC during this kind of forum so as to bring the much desired results and to assist them to continue to enjoy the value for their money spent on the services being provided to them”.

Business › Re: Man Who Returned N600,000 Mistakenly Sent To Him Now In Trouble by bigtt76(f): 2:13pm On Oct 06, 2018 |
While the man Mide must have done right by returning the money mistakenly sent to his account, it was wrong to have posted the chat between the man's wife and himself on Social Media. We need to understand that except both parties are in agreement for a conversation or chat to be recorded and stored in a retrieval system, its illegal to do so. Mide infringed on the man's wife privacy by posting that chat on Social Media. EmagNig: A man identified as Mide who went viral few days ago for returning N600,000 that was mistakenly paid into his account, is now in trouble with the sender who claimed he exposed his identity to the public.
Mide has posted a screenshot of the conversation he had with the sender's wife and carefully blotting out the details of the sender.
But the sender is now threatening legal action despite the kind gesture showed by the man who refunded his money.
He wrote:
WHAT HAVE I DONE WRONG? Here is the conversation between the owner of the 600k and myself. He is accusing me of revealing his details- phone number and account number which I carefully blotted out in the first picture that went viral.
The image showing on the chat is so invisible as to be connected to anybody dead or alive. I did inform the wife but there was no response from her. I still don’t regret my actions of refunding the money. How UNGRATEFUL a living being could be. I was going to let this saga die down but the fact that he’s threatening me with the law for doing the right thing. What audacity!

I hear you @ the embolden. Its just like when you sign up to serve in the military, they have their rules of engagement. You swear to uphold those rules and ready to face the consequence if you flout it. For example coup is a heinous crime in the military. If you succeed, you go scot free, if it fails ....then be ready to face it. I guess CU and other useless universities of their kind have their own rules of engagement and these students MUST have signed up to abide by it and not flout it. I doubt if they abide by the laws, no student would need to sort anybody with hefty sums of money nor would a girl go to party and be caught. Lets not help these kids to flout the rules ....let them be trained. If they don't want to abide by the rules, then go to other universities that suites you. Haba! rabzy: You obviously don't know what obtains in this school. I have 2 boys from landmark university and 2 girls from covenant university. These kids are very bitter with the school. What they made me understand is that the school breeds fear amongst the kids most of whom are even ajubutter and very young. Every little thing you did can be exxagerated and it's your word against the authority because no student that was there would even come to your aid because of fear. You can't even argue with them because it would be tagged insurbodination or something like that and you would be expelled. On one of the boys phone, they saw a chat with a girl who was not their student. He begged and begged so that he won't be suspended or expelled. He had to sort the guy with hefty cash. Just imagine if it was girl and you went to a party secretly and was caught, now the guy is asking for sex to quash the case, how many girls would opt for suspension or expulsion when you can do a 10 minutes sex to escape. The culture of making admins and lecturers supreme master and lord over your academic and social life breeds abuse. A land with too many laws would catch too many crimes and then this leads to exploitation. The most restrictive society and prisons are the most abusive, it gives too much power to those in charge and power corrupts. |

You all know that 99% of the cases are as a result of the girls throwing themselves at the lecturers because most times they're not ready to seat in class for lessons etc and always on Social Media ...its worst now than it was during my days in the University. Too much distractions around than it was then. Have you ever heard of a staunch Scripture Union (SU) or a Deeper life female member sexually harassed in school? I guess you've not ...because they 'mind their business' and dress decently to lectures. Take it or leave it .....sexually harassed girls by lecturers are 99% the cause of their travails. This lady kept on talking about big boobs ....it would be interesting to have seen her pix while in school to know how she tried to cover it up or something. BTW ...her pix with the man does not in anyway paint a picture of someone who is a victim. To me this is probably was a case of a failed deal or relationship SIRTee15: That u are lady and spewing such ignorance amazes me... It's like u oblivious of what's going on in our institution.... U said 'if the lady minds her business she will be safe' as if it's that's a full prove immunity to sexual harassment that's been tested and trusted.... Would she just be suspended or expelled without a cause? Did the man go to her hostel and drag her out? Lets cut the slack and face the issues here .....she threw herself on the man and he did what he did by her compulsion ....if as a student you mind your business and still get harrassed or failed, report to the authorities and not succumb to their entreaties and not after 5 years you come out and be playing victim Candyflox: of course he didn't force her directly bt indirectly he did, didn't u hear her say the fear of being suspended or expelled or u think after paying huge tuition she or her parents will want an expulsion? Just pray none of ur relatives would be placed in such pressure because the choices u hv are dicey imagine how long all dis hv been going on nd it just nw people r hearing about it dat to show how devilish dat school is, the best way to deal with Nigerians is wen u act all chrstainly and u still kill dem, no one will believe an accusation against dem without concrete proof which is something dese girls were denied of due to school regulations |

Yea ...that's the idea but they can also come together and offer shares to other willing investors to reduce their financial exposure an make it more attractive to Xiaomi. Remember the likes of UMIDIGI offer their devices for cheap as a promo each time they are launching new models to among other reason ...raise initial funding to go to market with the models. We can do this to lure Xiaomi into our market and get established fully. The device crase is spreading across West Africa. That revolution can begin from Nigeria as the hub.
